FRED FRED FRED!!! I think out of everyone who lived the one most effected by those who died was George. He lost his best friend--his twin! I have a twin so I can understand this feeling. George and Fred's relationship was so strong and I can't imagine one with out the other. I am still so mad a jkr for splitting them up..
Lupin's great
Oct 12 2007, 07:08 PM
I'd say first Dobby, who would have deserved to live a happy life.
Then Fred, as I found it really cruel for George.
Then the couple Remus and Tonks, both because of the characters themselves and little Teddy. I don't think just one of them. I'm not sure that the survivor would have been able to cope too well, and it may have made it worse for Teddy. But maybe Remus would have done better than Tonks.
As for Snape, no : it wouldn't have been nice to him. He only had Lily and Dumbledore. He was alone then.
I was also sad for Hedwig.

Who would I bring back? Surely you don't have time to read MY list of wizards/animals/magical beings that I wish had received a reprieve?
All right then, let's get started...
Sirius: He's just a great character and so many people love him!
Lily and James: Oh, come on, you know Harry would thank J.K.R. endlessly if this happened!
Dobby: He was so brave and willing! Harry owes him BIG time.
Fred: Of course, Fred! He and George were the greatest pranksters ever. Even Peeves would give them their props!
Hedwig: She was always faithful to Harry, even during those awful summers with the Dursleys.
Remus and Tonks: I love them and want their deaths to have been only a nightmare, and especially after they'd had Teddy!
Mad-Eye: This guy was the toughest Auror you'd ever hear of; brave, tough, and slightly insane, Moody will not soon be forgotten.
Dumbledore: If you don't want Dumbledore to have gotten a reprieve, I strongly encourage you to stop taking whatever meds you're on and reread the books! I mean, he was smart, willing, joyous, optimistic, a bit mad, but nevertheless, the greatest wizard of all time cannot be forgotten, like EVER. My description of him is a strong understatement. We'll miss you, Dumbledore!
All right then, that's all I can think of for now!

Ok, The Death that strucked me the most would have to be....Sirius Black. As he is my favorite Character, and still is my favorite. Sirius Black was the only thing Harry had to a real family. Sirius even asked if harry wanted to live with him in PoA. Sirius Black would have made a good father to harry. The Only real father he ever truly had. But know since Sirius is gone, that wont happen. Sirius was great, and still is. Like my motto is "Not Dead, Not alive....Padfoot lives on..."

Well, yes, it's got to be Sirius. He would be the one I would bring back if someone asked me to bring just one character back.
But if I get to choose more than one, it would be him, Fred (it's just cruel towards George!), Tonks and Lupin (poor Teddy, it's like his story is the same as Harry's: his parents were killed because of Voldemort too, at least he's got grandparents...) and I think that's about it.
It's still so hard for me to deal with all those deaths, even though I understand why JKR killed them... She had her reasons, but it still isn't fair. Of course, life isn't fair, but still!!! I wish they hadn't died...

Bella? Why? If we are talking about the 7th book,I would choose to bring Fred back because he is a lovely character and he was so young!Plus he has a lot of family members who suffer a lot from his death. And it has always been "Fred and George"...

If you could bring back anyone that has died throughout the seires, who would it be? Not the death that made you the saddest or shocked you the most but the person that you would really like to see again in Harry's life.
Me personally, I would chose Lupin. He was wicked loyal to all of the people he cared about and i think he deserved to live with his new born baby and wife. I think everyone deserved to life, but life doesn't happen that way...

If I could bring back any one character, it would definaetly be Fred. He just died for apparently no reason. JKR was going on a killing rampage and some how, he got in the way. It was just so sudden and unnecessary, it made me soo mad when she killed him off. I almost cried too. Also, George needs his best friend back, it is so cruel to take one and not the other.
Dumbledore's Widow
Nov 5 2007, 01:24 PM
And poor Hedwig! I suppose Rowling thought it was pure genius the way she wrote of Harry's owl's death. I think it was utterly cruel. Like with Fred, Hedwig didn't see it coming at all. She dropped like a stone!
I'd like to so be able to bring back Fred and Hedwig.

I'd bring back Fred, Snape and Sirius Black. They are all so different from each other but so rich in so many aspects.

Well...
If I was Harry, I would bring back Lilly and/or James. Just because that's rough not to know yourparents.
If it was me, I would bring back Sirius or Fred, because i was incredibly depressed by both of their deaths. And just to meet him

I would bring back Albus Dumbledore because his advice is so good. He lets people figure things out for themselves, he likes the "You live and you learn." policy of life, a very good one if I might add, I'd also bring back Sirius, because he was the coolest maraude enough said.

As strange as this may sound, I would not bring back anyone except Tonks and Lupin. Much as I would love to make all the others who died back alive, Tonks and Lupin are leaving behind an orphan, which I think means that they are 1st priority. Poor little teddy...
Oh, and Colin. He died a hero's death before he even finished school--still a kid. So he is up there, maybe even before tonks and lupin.

Same as PottersPhoenix, Dobby Dobby, Dobby! He is my favorite magical creature. He would be really strange-looking as a ghost (if this is with the stone), but it'd still be nice. I'd probably bring back Tonks, too, because she'd just had a baby. It'd be torture growing up and not ever seeing one of yourparents. Both of those 2, for sure.

How could J.K. let them die!

Jan 11 2008, 09:33 PM
i dont know who i would. i think it would be fred or collin though. if you were to bring any one person back to life, besides dobby, you would be tearing them away from their loved ones.
dumbledore -ariana and parents
tonks- remus (vice versa)
sirius- james, lily, and remus
lily- james, remus, sirius
james- lily, sirius, remus
its just that fred and collin had families. many people would want tonks and remus back because they just had teddy but it would be cruel to bring one of them back to life because the one who was alive just wouldn't feel whole for possibly the rest of their lives.

i think i would bring back Ariana for Dumbledore when he was alive.
i wouldnt bring back Tonks or Lupin or Lily or James ect because all there deaths were really important. if Tonks and Lupin hadnt have died, Teddy and Harry wouldnt have as much of a special relationship. but i would bring nack Fred bacause there was no need for him to die. George didnt deserve, nor did the weasley family deserve to lose such an important person... and i love the twins!

Definitely Fred. I was devastated when he died. I cried when I read that part. I was sad about all the others, but Fred's death hurt the worst. It might have been cause he was one of my favorite characters.

Fred.
His death was unnecessary and hurt me the most, more than Dobby.

That's a tough one and if I had to choose one character I would choose Dobby. He's my favorite character in this whole series and I was devastated when he died. Poor Dobby.

Jan 22 2008, 11:49 AM
there's alot for me so i will say who and why (in no specific order)
1: Dobby: the only death i cried durring the
first time i read the books. I thought it was poetic how he died int he one place he wanted to escape from fighting the family that caused him so much pain. I am still happy though cause he died a free elf not only because harry freed him in the second one but he also stood up to his former masters which showed that he truly thought himself as free
2: Sirius: He really loved harry ad he was the closet thing harry had to a father.
3: Hedwig: I think it was cruel to kill an animal but still her death showed that JK was willing to kill anyone in the last one (that's why i think Hedwig was killed)
4: Lupin: He was the best ligit DADA teacher and the second best overall (Harry was a better teacher)
5: Dumbledore(?): This is a tough one for me, I would like him to come back but he seemed so happy in the afterlife. he was the one who said "To the well edjucated mind death is but the next big adventure." I think he wouldn't want to be disturbed in the after life, but still i would like him to come back.
6: Peter Petegrew: Let's face it, the only reason he was killed was because there was good in him. He was going to save Harry and I think if he did not die he would have helped out more to fight voldemort. I think he should have stood up to voldemort in the end because he was after all a Gryffindor
7: James Potter: So that harry could know his father
8: Lilly Potter: So that Harry could know his mother
9: Serverus Snape: I have already expressed my felling concerning his death on th snape thread on this board so i'll just cut to the chase. I would bring him back
especially if Lilly was brought back so that they could at least rvive their friendship.
10: Tom Riddle (but only with the resurection stone so that he's not really back but just a spirit): To taunt him about how he lost a duel to a Hogwarts drop out

EDIT:
How could I forget Fred?!
11: Fred: Because he was a great guy, not to mention a great comc releif along with Goerge

Aaah this is really hard... I dont like to immagine Teddy Lupin growing up with no parents, but if im being totally honest i would bring back Dobby...Although if i could bring back
anyone i would bring back Voldemort, That way JK would have to write more books

But then again now i think about it i would bring back Fred. Being a twin my self i know it must be horrable for him to Die...Yep, id bring back Fred.

ok, first I would bring back Snape, because he didn't even get to live his own life for himslef. He had to live it for Dumbledore and protect James' son and that just isn't fair at all!!! He should get a second chance.... I think that I would like that.
Second, I would definately bring back Sirius. Now, I am writing a fan fic about Sirius having a daughter and I guess me having to write about his softer side and having to look at his loving, caring side, I think had just made me look at him differently. I really think that Harry and Sirius didn't get to spend that much time together in a Father-To-Son realationship and once again, I would've enjoyed actually seeing the softer side of Sirius. So, I would bring back Snape, (of course) and Sirius. I would like to see them come back.

As much as I hate to say it I think I would bring back Snape. I shocked myself when I said this. I always though Snape to be a big dirt bag. *Spoiler*All along he tried to save Harry and faked being a supporter of Voldemort. Sorry Snape. Either him Sirius or Dumbledore.

I would bring back Fred, his death was the most senseless because it didn't seem to help the outcome of the battle at all. A wall fell on him for heaven's sake, and well George should not have to live without his twin. So yes give me back my twins please.

I've always said that I'd never change DH, because I think it's better that it doesn't please me completely. I see that many would have had Snape back, and I totally understand the reasons. I just don't want him back, because I can't imagine him as happy. He has never been really happy, I think...

But that would make it hard for him now, too, I think he would have had some social problems... He has never had real friends or anything, so I think he still would have been an outsider...
At first when I saw this question I thought SIRIUS! But I don't know, I think I'd rather bring back Fred... Sirius would have been a marked man for the rest of his life. Yes, he would have been a free man after the Ministry, but everybody would have recognised him everywhere, and maybe talked about how they were convinced about him being guilty. Besides, I think Sirius are doing well with James, Lily and Remus

I think the same about Lupin and Tonks, they are together, so I wouldn't have taken only one of them back... But George, on the other hand.. I just can't imagine him without Fred!!
So.. Guess Fred is the answer

Half-Blood princess- you're reasoning for NOT bringing Snape back is exactly the reason why I'd want to. Snape never really got the chance to be really happy, except for the short period of time he was with Lily. He did have a lot going for him, I believe, and if he lived through the war, it would change him a lot, because he could finally be free of working for Voldemort, and he could really find himself.
Other than Snape, I'd really bring Hedwig back. The way Jo wrote the scene, and how she described Harry's feelings watching her die really broke my heart. Harry needs a close friend, someone to keep him and the wizarding world together- and that was Hedwig.
I think, sadly, that Fred, Tonks and all the others had important reasons' for their death. Everyone, I believe, learned something from their deaths, and even more importenly, Ms. Weasly dueled with Bellatrix Lestrange for killing her son, and unless I'm wrong, killed her, which helped Harry set up his duel with Voldemort.
But yes, Snape and Hedwig would be my top two.

Dobby or Hedwig. They seem so insignificant, but they were the ones who stuck with Harry no matter what, and Dobby never ever ever argued with him, and was loyal to Harry until the end, and it's so unfair that they had to die!

Snape. He had such an awful life, and he didn't deserve to die. He didn't even need to, the Elder Wand was Harry's, not his.
Snape's death was so painful, it's a pity he couldn't have been hit by Avada Kedavra.

^That's true. He should have died quickly, and painlessly. It was so sad that he had to be killed by a snake.
Other than Snape... Harry's parents (i counted them as one person because it would be sad if one was alive without the other)...
They, too, didnt deserve to die.
Oh. and Dobby

. He died saving Harry's life... he was a hero.

First and foremost, I would bring back Sirius, he was my favorite character that died. Then of course would be Albus Dumbledore, Harry's Parents, Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Hedwig, Dobby, and every other beloved character who died before their time. Maybe Snape too, but I'm still not too fond of him.

Well, bringing back the characters would mess up the whole series!! At least, the ones I would bring back, and then the books would not be as good.
But, I would have to bring back Snape, because Voldemort killing him in the end was stupid and he didn't deserve to die. Umm, Tonks and Lupin, because wasn't there death seriously just left there in mid-air at the end of DH? Dobby and Hedwig because Hedwig wouldn't of effected the series that much but it would of made Harry happier, even though it was probably for the best, but Dobby was a hero and deserved to live!

Okay, sorry. Ha, and I think that's it. Maybe Dumbeldore. I guess it just all depends. But truly, I would not bring back the characters because it would effect the whole series and make it not as good as it was.

Feb 3 2009, 03:46 AM
Oh, there are so many I would want to bring back.
Dobby, for sure! I think his death affected me the most. But perhaps that's because it was so focused on. All of the other deaths in DH just happened so quickly, and so much else was going on that I didn't really have time to grieve until way after it was over, and by then there would be someone else who lost their life. With Dobby, you actually had time to grieve him with Harry, while he held him as he died, while he was digging the grave, while Harry and his friends dressed him in their clothing, and held the funeral. We even got to witness Harry making the headstone. I think it was all very sweet and heart wrenching. Of course, I've had a special affinity for the odd little elf ever since he made his first appearance in CoS. I think his death was utterly unneccessary.
I also don't really think Fred's death was neccessary. Or Tonks and Lupin.
I think Snape's was neccessary, but I wish it wouldn't have had to been so and that he could have lived. But there would have been no way Harry would have believed anything Snape would have told him, had he lived. Harry wouldn't even have given him the chance to explain anything.

i would bring back remus lupin, tonks and sirius black because they were like family to harry i would also bring back james and lily potter as harry would have his family back. i would bring snape back as he was protecting harry all the way through the books but the one problem is that he is only doing it for lily.
