I'd bring back a lot of them if I could. But I was really schocked when Lupin died. It took me a few seconds to realize what had happened, and then I was like 'NO!' Remus was definately one of my favorite characters, and he'd just been married and had a child. So sad.

But I guess that Dumbledore was right about something. Sacrifices must be made for the sake of the greater good? But still, it's very hard.

Hmm well I would say Severus and Lily but I suppose Lily would still have love for James so Severus would just suffer even more heart ache. I think he is better where he is now. wub.gif happy.gif But then again he could learn to move on and finally be trusted and loved!

I would deffinately bring back Fred, Hedwig,Sirius, Remus and Tonks. Even though Harry won't have his parents back he will still have his Godfather and his dads other best friend. little Teddie Lupin would also have parents (it killed me when I found out Remus the last of the marauders was gone with Tonks) and Geogre would be reunited with his brother. eeek.gif
Oh and Hedwig and Pigwidgen could have little babies HAHAH! How cute would that be.
Oh I would bring back Dobby too because I love him!
Sliditanko
I'd bring back SEVERUS SNAPE. I really wanted to know about what he would have been thinking after the death of Voldemort. What kind of person he would have been to Harry and the others after his two-sided role in the school. Now when we know that he was on Dumbledore's side all the time..

Even though he was a Slytherin, there was some softness in his personality.

Another question is that what Harry would have thought about him (if he was alive) when he found out that Snape loved his own mother.. In the epilogue he gave a big respect naming his kid Albus Severus.. So that wouldn't have been a bad thing. I think.

This is such an easy question for me. I would want Fred back!!! I love Fred and was devastated when he died. Yes, the losses of Dumbledore, Sirius, Lupin, Tonks and Harry's parents are horrible, but Fred was still so young. The only thing him and his twin really wanted to do was bring joy and laughter back in to people's lives. There's no George with Fred and vise versa. Good-bye Forge and Gred! And every time Mrs. Weasley is going to call George's name you know she'll accidentally call him Fred, just by nature. I cannot imagine what George will be going through and I would realllly want Fred to come back. I broke down in to tears when he died. He died laughing and making others laugh which is sad but happy at the same time, he atleast died doing what he loved.
RIP Fred Weasley, I looove youu!!!
Krissy15
I would bring back Snape and Lily so they could finally get together. Haha. I would leave James dead, i think he is such a jerk.

I really, really am depressed about Snape.
I just want him to be happy with Lily, which was the only thing he ever wanted.

I would also bring back Fred. 'Nuff said.
graco27
i would of course bring back fred...

i cried so hard that the page looks like someone dumped water on it.

i cried non stop for about 40 minutes, before i could keep going. fred because there is no george without fred. george with out fred is like fish with no chips, its like peanut butter without jelly...

i cant picture him on his own.. sad.gif he was so young,...

gosh, the tears start to roll again.. :'(
tanpuayjean
Fred

He was the one who creates all the jokes throughout the book. Much more than George. What's life without the twins? His death is SO unnecessarily, as with the deaths of Mad eye, Sirius, Lupin, Tonks, Colin! etc etc

Dobby & Hedwig

Why get rid of them? eeek.gif They are part of Harry's life!
Why must so many people die just to create the grief and war after effects? mad.gif
iluvviktorkrum
i would have to bring back lupin tonks and fred. lupin and tonks because they just had a baby. fred because fred so his borther wont be lonesome when running the shop.

i know it is kind of out there but the first people i would bring back is Lily and James. i know crazy but still. i love them both and they deserve it.
Mrs.FredWeasley
i would want to bring Fred Weasley back. I miss him. He made every sad or moment filled with tension, he made them funny. It's really sad that he had to die. i still think JKR made a typo and meant for Percy to die. no offense to Percy-lovers. and dobby. it just shocked me when he died. when i read that...oh...there was no way to describe how i was feeling.
HeatherHoustontxhc
fred. out of the whole series, i think that he was the worst to lose because he had a twin.
it would have been nice to leave one of teddy's parents

QUOTE(samsmom @ Jul 26 2007, 07:04 PM)

WOW, this is a hard one, especially if I could only bring one back... Fred, Sirius, Fred, Sirius...
OK... Fred. Harry has gotten used to the loss of Sirius. While I would love to bring back Sirius, DD, Lupin, Tonks, Madeye, Colin Creevy!!!!, Ted Tonks and poor sweet Dobby, I think that Fred is the most devastating, because the Weasley family is so close, and killing one twin is brutal. Who will finish George's sentences, help him devise crazy schemes and products and run the store with him... who will he be identical to???? It's too sad!

haha, you know she had to kill people off. its a huge battle. its sad but some one had to die. just wish it wasnt fred. i wonder if she went with him the whole time or if she had someone else on mind and switched

I think shes meant for him to die, because she said Lupin and Tonks were the ones that she originally didn't really intend on killing. She also said that in the very first draft of the book, Mr. Weasley was supposed to die, but she just couldn't kill him.
keith
I would bring back Fred.He was a guy only a few years out of hogwarts already with a succesful business with his brother and he had it taken away.I also think it would be too hard on George. Imagine him having to live his life without his twin.It must be like losing part or himself.
mjane95
Well out of all the deaths probably either Fred, Tonks, Lupin, James and Lily.

James: harry needs some sort of parental figure. Maybe.
Lily: See above
Tonks: What about poor Teddy? He definitly needs a parental figure
Lupin:See Above
Fred: Losing a twin must be hard on George. And it isn't the same without Fred.

So I would have to say Fred or Lupin or Tonks
Weasley's_Wizarding_Weezes
It would be very hard for me to choose between bringin' Tonk & Remus or Dobby back. All were the best and I don't think I could possibly tell you how hard I cried when they all died! I wish Dobby was back because he was such a light in the books along with Tonks and Lupin... I really started balling my eyes out when I remembered Teddy!!! I don't know how I could possibly choose!
kathrina
Remus and Tonks, withouth doubt!

I feel so sad for them, espetialy for Lupin. So short bevor victory, so short befor being able to leave as a free wizard at last...

And poor Teddy! Such great parents, and he never got to know them... sad.gif
evie
fred because he was one of the people with the nicest souls and george just isnt the same. they could finish each others sentences just like B1 And B2.

of course sirius.. because he made me cry the most of all of them, and then at Dumbledores funeral.. so dummblydore to...

and dobby... out of all of them he was the most innocent and wasnt expecting to get a scratch

RIP DOBBY AND FREDDY AND DUMMBLDORE AND SIRIUS!!! sad.gif ohmy.gif
ILoveHarryPotter07
I think I would bring back Lupin and Tonks. I thought it was so sad that they had to die and little Teddy is now all alone. Also I really loved Tonk's character she brought so much humor to the books, her clumsiness and her metamorphing. I also loved Lupin's character, as he was beginning to get closer to Harry. Also, his entire life people have discriminated against him, and have pushed him away, when he finally finds happiness and finally marries Tonks, and they have a baby, BAM, he dies. I thought that he deserved to live, and see his kid grow up and to be happy.

Next I would bring back Fred. I can't imagine how George must feel...lost perhaps? I thought that was so sad, he was so young too, and the joke shop. I mean George already lost and ear, did we need to kill off his twin? Plus he was just so funny too, I agree that it was very symbolic of his character that he died smiling and laughing.
Lauren0891
I would bring back nearly everyone I think!!

I would bring back Lily and James - Harry has never known them and it would be nice if he got the oppertunity to do so.

I would also bring back Sirius, of course!

And Fred... It must have been very hard on George to lose his twin like that eeek.gif

Also Tonks and Lupin... Poor Teddy! The poor guy lost both his parents I'd bring them back too! eeek.gif

Also Dobby... bless him! unsure.gif
Kelso2010
As much as I love Remus and Tonks and everyone else who has died throughout the books.. I would bring back Fred!!! I've always loved the twins... they've always been two of my favorite characters..... and they've been with us since book one!!!! It's just not the same without him... George lost his partner in crime... I think that Fred's death hit me the hardest.... Of course so did Remus and Tonk's but Fred's been in the series longer!!!!

I'd bring back Severus. I was so upset by his death.
I never liked him throughout the books and then to find out he was good after all - devsatating. To all those people that say Severus is better off dead - I say no way. I know he lost the love of his live and felt emense guilt as he was a key reason for her death. But to have lived years as a spy never trusted by anyone and then die horribly still believing it was all for nothing that Lilys son was just going to die!!!. I wanted him to live, to have a life, to see the real man once his guard was let down. I can see why JKR felt he needed to die - hard to imagine Severus with a pipe and slippers, but still I'd of liked him to make peace within himself and have prehaps a bit of the love he never got.
The last bit where he asked Harry to look into his eyes was especially sad, was he trying to convey something of his true nature or did he just want to look at Lilys eyes one last time.sad.gif
I can't wait to see Alan Rickman play this bit. I hope they don't cut too much of Severus out of the 7th film. I always wondred why they had Alan Rickman play Severus - hes not evil enough theres something of the broken man about him (plus he's very sexy!!). Now I know why they cast him - pure brilliance!!!
Something to look forward to at least - I still can't belive there are no more books!! sad.gif
FireryPhoinex
I forgot to post on my own thread. I would bring back Fred. Him and his brother were incredibly close and had there own buissness to run.

One of the meanest things i could think of for someone to play is get some polyjuice potion and freds hair and go for a day or two supply and act like i had come back.
athar
I would definitely bring back fred... of all of the weasleys he and george were the only two that i wasnt prepared, and still am not, to lose... i still havent read the book again (a first for me) just so i wont have to experience him dying again. sad.gif
if not fred then definitely Tonks or Lupin. i think that it would be understandable for one of them to die because it is war but its kinda just cruel for both of them to die. Plus whose going to raise teddy... everyone is dead from that family except grandma...
jesssskuhh
snape or sirius.
for some reason freds death really didnt affect me. for some reason i never really cared about him as much as george. i love george. but i guess if it would make george happy, then bring fred back.
and georges ear
aleja23
I would bring back fred definitely, I really like the twins, and now thy're incomplete, they were one amazing team, and now one ins gone, so sad.
I feel bad about tonks and lupin, they were amazing and the baby, and they couldn't go through the parenthood, and all those moments.

You're totally right clarisa. I hated him too and now I'm sad he's gone. I wish he werestill alive.

I don't know which single character I'd bring back. That's just so hard. I would want to bring back Dobby, Fred, Severus, Sirius, Tonks, and Lupin and Cedric.

singr
I think Fred Weasley's Death was pointless...I mean, he aldready lost an ear, right?

It just isn't fair!!!!!!!!! sad.gif
knockturn alley
I thought it was George who lost the ear? Anyway, I would haave to say Snape. His deeath was incredibley upsetting after reading the chapter of his memories. I really wish he could have come ot terms with the world-with harry, especially. I would want ot bring him back even more than fred, because although i can't imagine george without fred, george still has a damily and plenty of people who love him, whereas the only shred of love that snape could hope for was through harry, and he never got that love, and died beleiving he faileed to protect lily's son.
Just the Droobles
Yes, it was George who lost his ear, not Fred. Fred lost his life. mad2.gif eeek.gif

I also would have to say Snape. He died in such a terrible way, and I really think he could have done great things. I don't think he really ever got a chance to talk to Harry, not that they would have ever been able to have a civilized converstaion, but I really wish snape could have redeemed himself while he was alive. I really wanted him to change for the better, and be able to explain all his actions straight from his own mouth. I think that would have meant a lot more than the memory. Snape is such a sad character, and I'm really depressed that he had to go. sad.gif
crookshanks04
well if i could bring somone back i would bring snape back!!!! i pretty much loathed him through the whole series (untill HBP anyways) but now that we have seen his memory and heard his story i am now a SNAPE supporter for sure!!! snape died so unnessisarily it was awfull he deserves to come back

my next choice would have to be lupin...well actually i liked him way more than snape so i guess deep down remus is my first choice. he deffinaly deserves to come back and be with teddy, but i would have to say that lupin like DD was well acepting of death... he really is in a better place now he is not a werewolf and he is with tonks and his closest friends true he can not be with teddy but i think if lupin were to choose he would stay where he is!!!!!
barnyweasley
i say snape because i think that he shouldn't have died in voldemort's hands. after all was said and done, i think that he shouldn't have died like that.
i would say lupin and tonks, but i think that j.k.rowling killed them off for a reason...they made harry godfather and i thikn that was very significant...if lupin adn tonks stayed alive, harrys role as godfather would not be the same
Valarian10
To me Dobbys death was completly heart breaking. Dobby has been such an immense character in the HP books and i thought that if he were to die than theres no reason Harry should live. In my oppinion Dobby was way more important to the story than Harry or anyone else for that matter. Dobby was by far the best character J.K Rowling has ever and will ever come up with. R.I.P Dobby, a free elf.
Sirius_Lives_Forever
There are so many characters who we have lost of the 7 book series and i would bring back:
Sirius
Fred
James and Lily
Dumbledore

All of these because they were all important to at least one person in the books. Sirius was Harrys last chance of feeling like he was part of a family, Fred was George's twin and a brother to 6 other siblings, James and Lily for obvious reasons and Dumbledore because he was such a significant character to everyone, characters and readers alike.
Such a shame that there were so many deaths in the last book, but it was inevitable.
Lidaya
[spoiler*] I would probably bring back Remus and Tonks, I mean they just had a child for goodness sake! I would also probably bring back every death such as, James and Lily, Sirius, Dobby, Ted Tonks ( poor Andromeda, he husband and her daughter are dead!), even Snape. I wouldent bring back Dumbledore thoug, and I doubt Dumbledore would really want to even come back. He lived a good long life. [spoiler*/]
weasleysarelove
Fred Weasley. Fred Weasley. Fred Weasley! I do not thing that I could re-iterate(spelling?) this enough. I still am having a hard time coping with the fact that Fred died. I mean, first of all I see no point in it, I don't see why JKR couldn't have killed off Percy or Malfoy instead of Fred. *sigh* I suppose there really isn't anything I can do about it except write Fan Fiction and complain now is there?

But yes, if given the choice I would bring back Fred. Although Sirius was a thought in my mind too, for Harry's sake you know.
firebat
Snape, he didn't seem like a good guy tilll the end. And it was sad that he had to die like that.
My second choice would be Fred. I just can't imagine only one of them alive.
Owl Handler
As I said in the Severus Snape thread, I could never be convinced that Severus was bad, no matter how hard J.K Rowling tried, so definately I would bring him back... I loved him... tongue.gif

Also, Sirius.

If we had to trade then I would have to say that I wouldn't have minded so much if Hagrid and Mr. Weasley had died instead in Books 7 and 5 respectively to replace the other characters... sorry sad.gif
2loveandhate2lose
Now thats a hard one because there were tons of people that died that I loved. I would love to bring back Snape and Lupin. Snape finally reveled himself as good. It would have been nice to fully understand Snape and Lily's relationship. Mainly I'd want to bring him back because it didnt deserve to die. It would have been nice for snape to talk to harry about lily. Lupin I would want to bring back for Teddy and Harry. All of Harry's dad's friends are died. It would have been nice for Harry to know more about his dad. Teddy will never grow up knowing his parents. Its like Harry story all over again.
hotstuff
To me like many other people it was defiantly Fred i know its just a book series but fred was actually my favorite b/c he seemed funnier than George but like other people said who will finish georges sentence and he and george just made the perfect team, and everyday george goes to work at the jokeshop he will have to think of fred and the pain and everyone will be asking what happen to the other mr. weasly

i mean yea i dont believe she shouldnt had killed both lupin and tonks both b/c i really like tonks next to fred b/c she could do really cool stuff with her hair and she was also funny and very helpful

but in the long run it would be fred
Tatie01
Is this about the whole story or just Book 7??
Well, I'm just going to answer both smile.gif

If I had to choose someone out of the whole story it would be Lily.
From everything we've learned about her, she seems such an incredible which and of course, she's Harry's mother. I can't imagine what it would be like if I lost my own mother.

But if I had to choose someone out of Book 7, it would be Tonks or Fred. (Still deciding)
Tonks, because I wouldn't want another child growing up without a mother.
Fred, because he was such a loveable person. He and his brother always made everything seem funny, and I don't think George will be up to it know.
eeek.gif eeek.gif eeek.gif eeek.gif eeek.gif

Well, you've got my answer
Love you all

luckynumberseven
Fred! Personally I think Percy should have died fighting for the right side, or letting himself be killed to save Ginny or something, so the Weasleys would see that Percy really loved them.
hermiione
Oh, that's a hard question!
But well, i'd like to bring back Snape.. oh my dear severus ..
wub.gif
and maybe dobby, and hedwig.
oh gosh, the good guys deserve to live, all of them smile.gif *
HPFan792
I guess I would bring back either Fred or Dobby. Dobby is great in all the books he really looks out for Harry and is so loyal to him. Fred I would want to bring back because its hard to picture George without Fred. It is hard to picture George managing the shop without Fred. Pretty sad actually. sad.gif
trtrzgunners
Fred Weasley for sure since his death the wizarding world is half as funny.

AT first i thought Percy gonna die fighting for the right side and saving Fred, and then it is kind of the other way round mad.gif
Episkey
My first thougth was Fred. He was a great character, and he will be greatly missed. Besides I don't really see George without Fred. It's just wrong. sad.gif
But then I thougth about Colin Creevy. If there ever were a undeserving death, it was his. ohmy.gif He was so young, and such a great fan of Harry. I think I would like to se him alive again.
So my choice is between Fred and Colin, but I really can't deside.
workaholic_1231
Hands Down, no questions asked, I don't even have to think of who I'd bring back.

Severus Snape. Without a doubt.

I am more than distraught over his death for several reasons, and I just wish that Jo could take back the ending and write his ressurection in. That would be marvelous. However, I do realize that Jo knows what's best for her characters, so I'm standing by her choice. (a bit unwillingly, but still am nonetheless wink.gif )

lm66gypsy
If I could only pick one person, I would pick Lupin. He has just discovered that life can be kind again. He's got a new baby that will never really know him, and I think that is terrible. He has just been given a real reason to live!

After Lupin I would pick Tonks, because her child should not grow up without a mother! although as I just wrote, I would perfer Lupin to Tonks. Tonks still has family who can preserve her memory in Teddy's life. But why shouldn't he have both?

Next would be Fred, because I do not want George to be alone. He's bound to feel like a part of himself is missing for the rest of his life.

And lastly I would pick Hedwig. I understand why she had to die, but she was Harry's first real friend. She kept him connected to the wizarding world during the summers when he was at the Dursley's.

The rest of the people I feel are happier where they are. Mad-eye died trying preserving the wizarding world. His life was spent protecting the wizarding world from dark wizards.

As for Dobby, he died protecting Harry, which is what he was always trying to do! Finally he was able to save Harry from death. (I don't think that giving Harry gillyweed in GoF counts as saving Harry's life, as there is no proof that he would have died without it)

Snape I think may be happier dead, now that he can see Lily in the afterlife. He has died protecting her son, which is what she would have wanted. I don't think he would have been happier alive, because conquering Voldemort was his revenge/justice for Lily's death. With this revenge/justice complete his reason for living was complete.
pottermania001
i would bring back nymphadora tonks or Remus lupin beacuse their son is gonna have the same sad life that harry's if ther's nobody to watch him of his parents

~I am not as willing to stand by that choice. I honestly don't think JKR knew what was best for Severus.

Anyways, I could not pick just one...I love Severus to that goes without saying...He needs to come back. The other character that I would have live again was not a hard choice for me...Lupin, without a doubt. I thought Lupin was another great character and a valuable asset to the storyline in general. He would have been the only connection that Harry could have had to his parents and Sirius. He could have raised his own son. I was very disappointed in his death and Im not even in SPELL.
Potterwatch836
I would bring back Albus Dumbledoor. I really didn't think that he made all the right choices when he ran away from his brother when Aberforth was the only one left in his family and when he failed to tell Harry that he had to die and that Snape was a good guy and a lot more things. So I would like him to come back and tell every one that he made mistakes and that he knows it. Plus I want him and his brother to makeup and I really want him to be the headmaster for a while longer he was a good one. Plus I believed in Albus for the longest time and I thought that he was the coolest guy in the world he was like my hero in the first six books in the seventh he started to get on my nerves.
Tarquin the Proud
I would either bring back Snape or Fred. I like Snape best of all the characters who died in the entire series. His life was so tragic that I wish he could have lived and been seen by all the world as the hero he was.

However, I can't imagine George without Fred. Twins are a funny sort of breed. The loss of one can be devastating to the other. I would not want to see George ruined for life because of his loss. While I liked Sirius, Tonks, and Lupin I would have rather that they died and Snape and Fred lived. Dobby's death was tragic, but at least he perished defending Harry. Colin, Hedwig, and Cedric are too unimportant really. Dumbledore-alas, had only he died sooner:).

I would go between Fred and Snape undoubtedly. Se gap lai nhe.
