sirius black lover

I put on the mix CD that my boyfriend gave me one time. It has all my favourite songs by The Beatles, Coldplay, Mika, My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds To Mars and so on. Not very Harry Potter like but .. whatever. I was hardly listening to the music anyway haha. Too busy paying attention to the book, I just needed some background noise.

I didn't listen to music...it destracts me. However for some reason, whenever I read about Azkaban escapees, I always think of the song "We are all innocent" and "We didn't start the fire"....because I heard them when I read about sirius and others in OoP...weird maybe...
And also, i had the King Kullen, the experience jingle in my head. Randomly.
I thought of other songs, for real reasons because they fit, at other times, but I can't remember what.

Umm my pounding heart! Ha ha jk. I dunno that I listened to much music whilst I was reading... maybe What Goes Around Comes Around by Justin Timberlake ha ha! I really liked that song this summer. I listened to a lot of rap and alternative in between reading though. And afterwards. Especially when I thought Harry died and I was stunned and depressed ha ha! I think most Panic! at the Disco songs generally fit the book though.
Fred's Angel
Well, I don't normaly listen to music when I read but my mothers friend, who is a strange charecter, can over and she put on the song 'I Like Your Hair' witch can be found on Youtube-it's a funny song...

Oh- today was listening to Music and reading HPDH (I don't norrmaly, like I said) and the song 'Life By The Drop' by Stevie Ray Vaughan and it made me think of wub.gif Fred and George. wub.gif
Heres a link to the song on YouTube. The video is a tribute to SRV.

'Life By The Drop'

Please listen and tell me what you think-does it make you think of Fred and George?

I was listening to 'The Heart Never Lies' (McFly) when Dobby died and I cried and cried because it was such a sad song and it was such a sad bit. sad.gif eeek.gif

I'm really emotional so it was stupid of me to play that song while I was reading that.

I wish I could listen to music while I read. That would be so sweet nation. I just always sing along with my music so I wouldn't get any reading done. But for while I could hear my brother practicing his tuba.

I have to agree with sirius black lover even though I can't listen to music while reading that song is so perfect! I love that song. It really does fit that very well.
The Writing on the Wall
Meatloaf: Bat Out of Hell 3, the Album. I just put that on Shuffle and Repeat all and let that pourr in Through my ears. Sometimes the music was weirdly accurate to the part of the stroy i was reading

Songs? Depends on the scene.

Clannad's "A Dream in the Night" in general.

Clannad's "Almost Seems Too Late To Turn" when Ron walks out on Harry and Hermione.

"The Sixth Station" from the soundtrack of the Miyazaki film Spirited Away during the escape from Gringotts.

"The Rite of Spring" by Igor Stravinsky, throughout the Battle of Hogwarts. (It actually fits quite well... you should try it.)

this is an awsome discussion group because songs from harry potter have been somthing in my head for agers.

the ones in particuliar for me ( although this is abstract, if you serch these songs i think you;ll agree) the gallows abandon ship, which is a hardcore song , despite the lyrics the guitar riff to me sums up the chaos of the battle of hogwarts! well the exact moment is when the cetaurs join the battle, there is a moment of silence in the song, and i think it is perfect for when harry screams ,"protego!" to save mrs weasley, then there is this really wicked build up riff and and its so dramatic really matches what harry is saying the voldemort!

the other is a kate nash song , and this is much more bizaar but i couldnt get it out of my head when i thought about the part in the book later. its the part when they've just got off the dragon and actually start laughing for the first time in agers then harry realises he cant rest as the biggest battle of his life is about to happen, the song is a really slow piano loop( please ignore the lyrics as they couldnt be more off the point! ) it eventually builds up to what i think is a really adrenelin buzz inside but still quiet enough to match the calm before the storm

I actually didn't listen to any music when I read Deathly Hallows. I woke up bright and early in the morning, went outside, and grabbed it out of my mailbox (my parents wouldn't let me go at midnight so my neighbor bought it for me and fropped it off happy.gif ) Then, I basically locked myself in my room and read all day. I can't have any noise when I'm reading or I can't really concentrate at all. I'll end up reading the same line over and over again.

Well the songs I listened to was random. I didnt listen to get in the mood of the book, but I just like to have some background music. Now when I hear those songs It reminds me of that time when I read and why some songs somehow reminds me of a part of the books or something.

There's a few Within Temptation songs that reminds me of DH, because I watch a lot of fanvideos and many has their songs (and I love the band). All I Need, Pale and Forgiven is some of the "DH" songs heh. All sad of course sad.gif
Oh and My December by Josh Groban reminds me of Remus and Dora.
Miriam Stockley - Perfect Day reminds me of DH in general
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqByvkB8xY0
Nightwish - Amaranth, DH randomly
The Fray - How To Save A Life
And I have to admit it - a spice girls song reminds me of Fred Weasley laugh.gif It's pretty song though, Goodbye. Majorly because its used in a video about him

Aerosmith - Dream On, Remus and Tonks

Quite a few songs really

i didnt listen to music the first time i read it... just my parentals screaming at each other, which im sure any of you will say is more than enough of a distraction..

the second i read it time i listened to my ipod rele quietly and got so engrossed in the book i couldnt hear music...until within temptation 'forgiven' came on right as voldemort' killed harry i only noticed because the song was so seemingly fitting
the song says about trying to sheild the one u love from the world but they die anyway this would be the thoughts of his parents, sirius dumbledore and anyone else who had died for him

"could'nt save you from the stars,
knowing so it hurts my soul,
can you forgive me for trying again,
your silence makes me hold my breath, time has passed you by.

oh, for so long ive tried to sheild you from the world..."
etc etc

of course only fits til he comes back to life... though he wasnt actually dead so he couldnt come back.. he hadnt gone anywhere lol
though when everyone comes out on to the steps ron, hermione, ginny the weasleys and magonagoll etc might feel this too

I didn't listened to any music while reading, because I always took my time, enjoying the book, and music would just have made me lost concentration and climax.
But re-reading, I went adding music in my head (yeah, I know it could sound weird), and that gave it more feeling.
In Forest of Dean, I thought of Stop Crying Your Heart Out, by Oasis. It's not only the lyrics, but the music what made me cry; all the grief that Harry feels when accepting his destiny.
And then I went thinking in random songs, fitting the scenes in tongue.gif
Astonia Greengrass-Malfoy
I was listening to Best of Both Worlds by Hannah Montana when I first read DH but now I'm re-reading it and listening to Tom Felton's songs, listening to those music help me remember details in the book. biggrin.gif
Nasuada
Well, I didn't listen to music for very long while I was reading DH. I got a hold of the book one evening and was up late into the night. I did put in a cd when I started, The Prisoner of Azkaban soundtrack, but it played through very quickly and I didn't even realize when it turned off, I was so engrossed in the book. biggrin.gif

I was listening to "The Heart Never Lies" by McFly when Dobby died and as that is such a sad song it fit pefectly. Now whenever I hear that song I think of HP&DH .... sad.gif
mizzmagik
I listened to one song through most of it, it's from

the film Moulin Rouge and its the end credits called

Bolero, it's a sad song and fits so perfectly with all the

deaths, it starts out slow but builds up so it also

went well with the Battle of Hogwarts.

It's just so.. I love it..

Theres a video of it on youtube:
