All righty then.
Well, I was just wondering, which castle will they use in the Half-Blood Prince movie? Will it be the current one in... Scotland is it? (Please correct me if I'm wrong about Scotland) Or will they go back to the one in England that they used for movie's 1 & 2? If I had to pick one, I'd go for the one in Scotland (if it's in Scotland) because I think that Harry Potter fans are used to that one, and I personally think that it has a MUCH better setting for, say, Hogsmeade. What do you all think?
Let me know what you think!
PS: If you had to pick either castle, which one would it be? (The one for CoS is different from the one for PoA. Trust me. It is Watch the movies, and you'll notice the difference)

that is a really good point actually i think the should stick with the castle they've been using for the last few.. admittedly the original castle was more like the hogwarts i always imagined but the second castle has a more rustic darker feel which i think would be a better setting for hbp prince plus they really need to keep it consistent. i can 4give them for changing the castle once but definately not twice!!!

I think the castle in the first two movies didn't really suit the films as much as the one in Scotland does that they use now. The one in Scotland looks more like how I imagined Hogwarts to be so I think they should use that one. And use parts of Oxford University to film some of the courtyard scenes like they have been in the more recent films.

I think the Scotland castle is better and they'd find better filming in Scotland.
England is quite a flat landscape but Scotland is hilly everywhere, it's a wonderful place.
My vote is for the Scotland castle that they used

Heyyy everyone.
You might call me crazy but i actually like the castle used in the first 2 movies. That was always how i imagined the castle to look like.
I admit, I do believe the castle in Scotland in much more beautiful but that might be why i never imagined it like that.
I always believed the castle should be old, kind of eerie and mysterious and i saw that in the first movie.
It's just my opinion....

You may be interested to read
this. It tells you all the locations used for filming Hogwarts.
The castle 'used' in the first movies was Alnwick Castle, but that was for the parts like in movie one when they were learning to fly broomsticks. The rest of the castle (the tower and turrets) I think you'll fing are CGI. There are no castles like that in either Scotland or England and I've been to a lot of UK castles in my time.
I would say that they were probably based on a real castle. One of my personal favourites is
this one in Germany.

I really am not sure what to say. The one that was used for the first 2 was good, for things like Hagrid's Hut. The one in the other three movies was bad, because Hagrid's Hut seemed too far away from the rest of the castle. So if they could combine them, which is probably impossible, it would be perfect.
On a side note, I hope that is isn't as 'cloudy' as it was in the 3rd and 4th movies!!!

The LondonTaxiTour has posted some pics of Gloucester cathedral where a few scenes from the movie will be filmed next week.
I was there myself at the weekend and was shown the strange wooden platform in the garden and was told that this is housing for the lighting that will be used to create daylight as filming will take place at night.
The cloisters were not touched on Sunday but as you can see WB have started to dress the walls ready for filming.
Half Blood Prince set photos.A marquee has been set up in the grounds of The King's School adjacent to the cathedral. This is for the 174 kids who attend Gloucester schools to be fitted for their Hogwarts costumes. The fitting started today and will continue tomorrow.
I'll update with further news as I get it or see it. If anyone else finds more stuff from the HP set, please feel free to post links in this thread.

Wow thanks so much for this
It's so exciting they're really getting filming done for the 6th film now! And what I love so much about these films is how 'British' they are, with British actors and using British places! It's so authentic.
The pics look great! I love seeing how they set up films sets etc and it makes you feel like you're part of the process.
Here's to HBP being as brill a film as the rest :

Thanks for these pictures! I've seen more too on the recent links from the home page news and they're all so great! It's so weird to see the actors in their costumes or getting ready to film when they're not actually in the movie... Sometimes you just forget that they're real people too! But it's when I looked at those student extras getting ready... I'm excited for them, but I can't possibly imagine how it feels to be chosen randomly to be in the Harry Potter movies. I'd die of over-excitement or shock before I actually get to be in the films!

I was at Gloucester Cathedral myself during the filming. Unfortunately, I was at work when the stars were around so didn't see much although I talked to people who did. I had a nice chat with some of the crew though and one of them gave my daughter his HP set location security pass as a keepsake which was nice. I have kept the local newspapers that carried the stories during filming, it's always nice to have something happen in your own locality!
More pics can be seen by scrolling down

Thanks so much for the pictures! They're great!
You are so lucky Elaine! Having something so big happening so close to you must be amazing!
I love those guys' ability to work with the outside of the buildings. How they manage to turn them into the great locations that come out in the films is unbelievable!
Those pictures make you feel like Hogwarts is coming into life all over again! Aw! I love that magic feeling!
I can't wait for the movie to come out! Watching the pictures makes me have great expectations towards the final product and it seems like they are really making some huge efforts for the fans who know so much more about the books now.

Thank you for the pictures!
I love looking at pictures that are behind the scenes. Sometimes more than movie stills. It's nice to see the actors just chilling and getting ready to film. Those extras looked so excited. I mean who wouldn't be? Oh I can't wait to see the movie when it's finished. Seeing pictures makes me even more excited about the completed film.

OK, so i wasn't sure whether to post this up on this forum or whether i should have made my own but this this topic seemed close enough to what i found just now on a website.
Half-blood prince high resolution picThis is a new pic of a scene from the Half blood prince movie. I must admit i was surprised to see one of high definition posted up on the internet, particularly this early on in the production of the sixth movie, but, nevertheless, with all this hype i suppose they want to satisfy us fans early.
This pic looks incredible; it's of the trio (Harry, Ron and Hermione) sitting down in the common room, ron is on one of the red chairs and Hermione is reading the Daily prophet and Harry is showing her what looks like the Half-blood prince's potions book. Their hairstyles look good by the way - especially Harry's and Ron's; Hermione's is a bit blonde but i can coipe with that seeing as Emma Watson probably wasn't able to fade her dye colour in time - it's not as bad blonde as it was before though.
Anyway, i sooo cannot wait until this next movie, it's looking good already in the photo.

Oooh, that is a pretty darn nice pic! I wonder if it really is from the film? Well, yeah I guess technically it should be.

I wonder how Ron/Hermione is doing in that scene? Oooh, they're so cute.

lol Its is pretty nice though. Yeah, her hair does look a bit blonde... Either it's just the light or it's actually like that! Oh well. You're right though; their hairstyles are quite nice, well- at least better than the last one... I found Dan's a bit short.

But anyway, this is getting me all excited! Hopefully we do get more shots soon!

Ohh! A new picture! Yay! I agree, Witherwings, Harry's hair looks better than it did than in the OotP. I think Ron's was the best in the last movie too. Eh, I haven't been pleased with Hermione's hair since the second movie. I'm beyond caring about her hair at this point.

I love seeing pictures. Especially off set. They're so fun to look at!

Awesome! A pic! I love it when there are new pics to watch! I'm so excited, I can't wait for the movie to come out!
Yes, again, the hairstyles are getting so much better than in the OotP movie. Harry's at least looks much much better! It's got to be as long as to almost cover his scar, which looks like that in the picture! Ron's, well, no complain there. And Hermione... Ugh, it simply bothers me that she's got it so blond! Geesh! I hate it so much when they don't follow those simple things from the book... But then again, Nasuada is right: her hair was simply perfect in PS/SS and then on they just simply couldn't get it right.
I have to add that I was a little bit disappointed when I found out that the Potions Book was going to be so small. I imagined a bigger book, given the fact that it was relevant, and a 6th year book, but, okay, whatever...
And yes, the title ("Harry mostrando su libro de posiones") translates to "Harry Showing his Potions Book" (even though "Potions" is spelled in Spanish as "Pociones", it was misspelled...)
Thank you so so much for the link monkeymushroom! I just love to see new pictures!!!

YES, i love seeing new pictures too, and i hope they will show us some more pretty soon. If i find any more i will definitely post them up on here. The website i found is very handy for looking at recent photos - of the actors/actresses, miscellaneous, the films, etc.
To be honest i'm not atall that bothered about Emma's hair. Sure it's blonde and it's not like it was in the first two films but in the end Emma has to grow up sooner or later so she can't stay the same forever. I don't think the colour looks too far off from what its supposed to be. The good thing is that they didn't artificially make her hair look brown because i think that would totally go against the whole natural look. Besides, soon enough we should look foreward to seeing her hair fade into normal colour. There's always the next time.

I have just come across
these images from London Taxi Tours of set construction going on at Leavesden Studios. I can't for the life of me fathom out what they might be other than Malfoy Manopr perhaps. What do you guys think?

Well, it says above the pictures(the ones under the Gloucester Cathedral) that they are supposed to be Hagrid's Cabin(under construction), and the pictures(underneath where it says about the film crew) are supposed to be Slughorn's House.

I noticed it said about Gloucester Cathedral, but they finished filming there back in February. Very strange. The construction seems a bit big for Hagrids hut and I thought that Slughorn house was a real one that was dressed up to look different and these were some of the earliest images shown. I think it still looks like Malfoy Manor to me.
