If they decide to film the epilogue, should they use the same actors (i.e Dan Radcliffe as a 36 y.o. Potter)? Or should they use older lookalikes? I can see them using the original actors. For the most part they will be in their early twenties when it will be filmed. It won't take much makeup to age them a bit. Or the could use computer special effects. In X-Men 3 they used special effects to make Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan look 20 years younger so why can't they make Dan, Ruppert, Emma, Bonnie, and Tom look near 20 years older?

I have no preference as to who they use. One of many questions I had was who Draco ended up marrying. I just hope it wasn't Pansy Parkington. At the battle, Draco wasn't portrayed as one who had swiched sides. I wonder where his allegiances are 19 years later. He and Harry had at least a nodding relationship by then.

Yeah, I never thought about this before, but I think you're right, it wouldn't take much to make the gang look a bit older than they are. After all, they will be about 20 or just over that by then. I mean just take Doctor Who, the made an actor who was in his 30's or 40's look 105! And they did it convincinlg too. I would have thought that if the BBC can do it, it should be a cinch for Warner Bros.
Like you ginnyfan, I too was wondering who Draco married and hoping it wasn't Pansy. I was wondering if they would be pureblood or not. I can't see Draco marrying a muggleborn, what with his family looking over his shoulder and whatnot. Perhaps a half-blood though.

It'd be cool to film the "19 years later" epilogue!

It would add a bit of happiness to the movie with the sight of the obvious and long-awaited Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny marriages.

I hope that it will still be the same actors Daniel being Harry e.c.t, i don't think it would really be the same without having them in the last part. I too would like to see who Draco ended up with as it had no hint in the book.

I expect that they would use the original actors, because as you say they will be older enough and make up can do all sorts of things.
It's in WB intrests to make the fans happy, and they know that we love the current actors, so I hope that they stay put and use them.

I would certainly hope that all of the same actors are used. It would mean a lot to the fans to be able to see them aged. But yet, it will be a few years away. Of course, I can't wait!!!!

The will add the epilogue. It's so significant. It would be neat if they kept the origenels, but it's unlikely (sigh), ah well, as long as it stays in

Draco's wife is definitely pureblood because Ron says to his kid something like

Well... I don't no if they could do that because they'd be 36 odd in the book. And only 20 in real life. I know special effects can do good but can they really change it that far. But i think it's best to end it with the originalactors because it started with them. So it will be a difficult thing for them. I do hope they use the original actors.
Oh hang on...

I'd like to be Dan, Emma and Rupert as the actors playing their characters 19 years later, if it makes the movie. Like has been said, it is possible to make actors and actresses appear older with make up and whatnot.

Well I think they might choose different actors but I hope they just do the actors in make-up. That would just make the final movie... magic. And I want to see Hugo, Rosie, Lily, James, Albus and Scorpius.
Did you know that in a T.V show called Farscape there is a not so baddie called Scorpius?

i hope they keep dan, emma and rupert for the epilogue! it would ruin the film if they used someone who kinda of the looked the same but it obviously isnt! and like poeple have been saying it's not like they don't have the technology to make 20 yr olds look 30 odd!! so they best use those 3 or i will be very angry!

Ohh and Draco didn't marry Pansy or else it would have said, he's too good for her!
I wonder,
I expect they'll use makeup on the characters to age them. Makeup and clothes can do a lot.

I really hope they'll make the epilogue scene, and, if so, I hope even more that they'll keep the original actors for it. It's begun with them, so it should end with them as well. Also because it's really easy to make them look older with make up or special effects, just look what it's been done with Theoden in LOTR. So there's really no reason to change!

It would be kind of weird to use make up and special effects. I don't know how well they work but I think they could look for new casting. They could use Harry's dad in the first movie to play as him. I thought they look a little alike.

yeah i think it would be good to use the regular actors because i think it would be so much more like emotional with them. i mean people have been watching these kids grow up and it would just be weird to end the movie with people that havnt worked as hard or been through as much with the movies as those three. i think they deserve it.

use the same actors since people are used them since the first movie, and to get a new one just for 5 minutes is abit to awkward.
They can easily add beard and make hair look more mature.

They should definetly use the original actors! If they didn't, people in the theaters who haven't read the books would be like, "Who's that supposed to be?" Well, I think it would wreck it if they used different actors. Makeup can do wonders!

ok i think that they deffinately should use the real actors-- first of all, theyl all be around 20ish years old and also we all know (equus and my boy jack) that dan can look older and really pull of and rock that 5 o'clock shadow (lol =]) and rupert is older than him so i think he could look older...as for hermione, emma watson could easily look ten years older...hmmm but ginny... i duno... she could probly pull it off with the right make up
btw-- how old are all the kids dupposed to be--i know that albus is just going into first year and ron and hermione hav got one thats not old enough yet but how old is everyone else, like victoire and stuff?

You know, thinking about how they're gonna pull off the final chapter in film seven really gives me the chills. I can just imagine how the scene is gonna kick off: you will start out with a blackout and then the camera angle will begin with a wide shot angle of the King's cross, and you see a family of five walking along the station - it will be a long-range observation shot whilst watching the family talking animatedly; you then get a close up shot of the front of a trunk sitting on a pushing trolly, pushed by someone but you dont see who yet until the camera shows you; you get anothet wide shot of the family but this time they're getting ready to each run through the barrier to platform nine and three quarters; here you see two parents letting their children pass through whilst making sure muggles don't see them; the person who is put most emphasis on in this scene is the youngest son of the two parents; this sequence focusses entirely upon the journey of this particular young boy into the wizarding world; the boy mentions something like 'am i gonna be alright?' to his parent's, then you finally get a close up view of older Harry - saying 'of course' - and then an older Ginny - 'you'll meet loads of new friends...come to think of it this is where i met your father for the very first time - he was exactly your age it was a year before i first stepped on this train'.
It will pick up from there and then we'll see the end credits. It will be the climax of the film where Harry and everyone see off a new generation and it would be like saying goodbye to Harry and hello to someone new. Even though JK isn't planning on writing another load of Hogwarts books, in the film this sequence will certainly bring out a cliff-hanger ending, which ought to suggest to its viewers that 'this isn't the end of the great adventure', even if it is. It would bring great euphoria to the story.

Yeah, I'm prettyyyy sure that they will use the same actors, all they have to do for Dan is not let him shave for a day haha then he'll look older. I wonder what they will change in the epilogue...I've noticed that a lot of people were unsatisfied with the abrupt ending and vague details, do you think they'll spice it up a bit? That would be risking a lot though for the fans that really liked the ep neat and simple. I wonder if they'll include all the kids in it, I have a feeling that they'll take out the Ted/Victoire snogging scene, but they will mention them both in the dialogue.

Oh don't worry it took me a while to figure that out too. What you have to do is:
1. click on My Controls at the top right hand corner of the page
2. you will see a whole bunch of things to click on. Go to the one that says Change Avatar Settings and a new page will come up asking you to click on boxes to change information - NOW!
3. the next thing is you decide whether you want to use your very own photo or a special one that is already provided by the people who manage the site. I'm so sorry but i never found out how to do my own photograph so that is what you may have to figure out by yourself.
I do recommend however scrolling through the lists as they have some pretty cool choices.
4. anyway - continue from there and you'll soon have your very own avatar.
Anywhoo, this is getting out of subject so i'll pick up from where we left off shall i?
I think they should use other actors who look ALOT, and i mean alot, like Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. The reason i say this is because it is - should i remind you? - 19 years later from when Hermione and Ron were both 18 and Harry was seventeen (i've done the maths) and so mathematically speaking Ron, Hermione and Harry should all be about 37/36 years old - round about. Therefore, there would be no way on earth Dan, Rupert and Emma would be able to pull of a 36 or a 37 year old, seeing as Rupert ought to be 20, Dan 19 and Emma 18 when they each shoot the final movie. Hmmm - - - I don't think so somehow.
Maybe they will cast completely new people. I don't believe it will work with big stars playing them because it just wouldn't seem right. They have to be completely anonymous. So perhaps, coming from a teenager's point of view myself, Adults will get their chance to audition for the open casting.

errrm, sorry but i'm not sure if that is supposed to be a compliment or an insult against Bonnie Wright, who plays Ginny. I apoligise if my responsive tone seems inappropriate for this type of discussion. What does the ROFL! stand for? But anyway i don't think that was necessary to accuse Bonny of looking forty.
Sorry for my outburst. Hope noone holds this against me, or closes this link because of it.
I still think they ought to get much older adults to play Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny. Its better that way. BUT. These actors must give a very good resemblence to the actors who play Harry, Ron and Hermione in Teenage form (i.e. Dan, Rupert and Emma).

By that time the actors are 21, so it would be easy to make them look like adults

The current actors are also more into the character than someone who just did one scene

No need for another actors

NO one who doesn't read the books would know what they were on about if they used different actors! They should definetely use the same people! I mean, it's kind of like a wrap-up of the whole seven year saga, and to use different peoples would be kind of wierd...

I totally agree with you,
No.1_HarryPotterFan, I also think that if they chose other actors for the epilogue, then the whole story would be kind of meaningless. We could see them growing up, and the best ending would be in this way seeing their family as well. I've read that the directors don't want to work with other actors, and Dan, Emma and Rupert also claimed that they will finish the series. So it will be great

For the best way to finish off the series i am sure that alot of the HP fans will want to see Dan, Emma and Rupert they may not be able to pull off the age well but the work they have done with this film so far is inspiring and who knows what else they can be capable of its the finishing part to the story that has captured everyone and it wouldnt truly be harry potter if it wasnt them doing it

They could make them all look older quite easily. And I think they should. The line 'I'm extremely famous' could be pulled off easily by Rupert. Plus he'll be the oldest of the trio in real life and the easiest to make look older.
But if they can find believable people who would play Older!Harry and co. I think they should do it. I just fear that we'll end up with someone totally different looking.

They could use the original actors, but they probably won't. Like many other movies (X-men 3 excluded), the crew has cast different actors to play older/younger versions of people. Therefore, I think that this movie will be no different. I personally think that they should use all of the actors parents. They have been great support to the cast throughout the series, and they probably look like their kids. This may be a crazy idea, but what do you think????

the parents would be like late 40 and 50, but we need someone in the 30s. By that time the actors gonna be in their early 20s, so they can just use a bit of effects and more mature hairstyle and they would look in their 30s.
I vote for using those original actors certainly.

I don't really think... thats not such a good idea coz the the original parents of the first generation and the parents (Ron, Harry, Hermione and Ginny) of the second generation are two completely seperate groups of characters and i believe that if we ever saw the actors who played James and Lily play Harry and Ginny the audience would get a bit confused.
I think we should begin to understand that Harry and James are two completely different poeple and i think that it would be a bit of a pointless task if the audience had to try and distinguish between the character's, Harry and James, all because you've got the same actor who plays them.
No, i think a young actor would suffice - someone who looks a bit like daniel radcliffe and seems a bit cuter in the face than the bloke who plays his dad. That way you can see him still as the son of Jame's because he looks younger.
I just had a thought. Maybe they could - in the seventh film - have Harry's parents prop up in the final chapter so that we get the impression that Harry is visioning both James and Lily with him. They could be like ghostly figures. And then you reel in the credits as you see the train run through the hills.
I think the one who gets to play older Harry should at least have exactly the same mouth and smile as Daniel radcliffe because that i think is how we fans familiarize ourselves with the character nowaday's.

I really do hope they get different actors to play the characters for the Epilogue. I have the most awful, if not hilarious vision of Daniel Radcliffe with talc in his hair to make it look greying, bad latex wrinkles and a fake mistouche...yuk! But with the same circular glasses. It just won't work, the only way I can see them pulling it off is if they use some kind of superimposed computer generated image to age the actors. At least then it will be slightly believable.

I haven't got the slightest preference how, so therefore I wouldn't mind either ways. No Scratch that, I hope they'll use older lookalikes. It actulally can work out quite marvelously. I also can't wait to see the long awaited marriages come to life in the movies.
