I know this is a bit premature, posting this topic right after OotP went into theaters, but I just can't wait! biggrin.gif

So, when do you think that Deathly Hallows will be released? I've heard rumours about 2010, but I want your ideas. I've also heard early 2011, but I doubt that's true, and I can't remember where I heard it exactly. Weird, huh? wacko.gif I hope it's as soon as possible though! I'm anxious to see the Ron/Hermione kiss, finally! Again, any ideas about the release date? Nothing specific, just late 2010 or something like that.

Let me know what you think! biggrin.gif

In my opion i think its going to be ATLEAST 3 years possibly even four because they take so long to film and the deathly hallows has GOt to be spectacular otherwise it will ruine the whole story line least it cant get much worse than orde fo the phonix...or can it mellow.gif
HPFan792
I think I heard 2010 but, who knows it could be before or after. My best guess would be 2010 though. We will have to wait a while.
I hope it is worth the wait!
Matthew
Since they're on an 18-month schedule for the movies, the film adaptation of Deathly Hallows should hit theatres in June or July of 2010. Personally, I have no idea how they're going to turn it into a movie, as it was packed to the brim with action sequences, but I'm sure they will do a fine job of it.
Bumblebee
I thought WB said last year they were going to do the remaining fils (OotP, HBP and the film of Book 7) back-to-back -- if only to avoid having to change the actors for the young characters because they're getting too old! So that means that I'm expecting HBP around January or February, and DH around Christmas next year. Pre-production and post-production periods can overlap!
X-Girl
I saw on the VTM main page that it was coming out in 2010 so probably in July or November of that year. Personally I'm hoping for around Christmas because I like to see movies around then. Plus SS came out then too. It would be cool if the first an the last came out at the same time of the year. wink.gif
Ladie Lily Potter
On imdb.com, it says that it'll be released in 2010. Which is kind of ... aaaah. Haha. I don't know how I'm going to be able to wait that long!
hermiione
i've heard that will be released at summer 2010 wub.gif it's gonna be awesome biggrin.gif
GryffindorBabexhott
Yea..I heard its Summer of 2010...wow..a new decade..what a perfect way to start the decade!! The ending to a fabulous series. But this is nicely spaced out. Well. have OOTP on dvd a year waiting for HBP, then well ahve HBP, then HBP on dvd only a year until Dh..Nicely spaced out I say!!

I'll be 15 when the movie comes out! I can't wait that long.Well,it is only two years ,but I am the worst at waiting and my sister is going to be moving that summer,so I probably won't see it with her. sad.gif
HUFFLESLYTHERAVENDOR
SUPPOSABLY, HHBP IS TO COME OUT NOV. '08 AND HPDH IS TO COME OUT IN MIDDLE OF '10. BUT THIS IS WHAT I HEARD. I HOPE SO, ITLL BE OUT PRETTY QUICK! AND I HOPE THEY DO THE MOVIE WORD FOR WORD!
pottermania001
ALL I KNOW IS THAT WILL COME OUT IN 2010
Muggle_Born_Girl
Yes, it's been said 2010 but i don't know if they'll be able to keep up with that deadline! After the book has come out... look at all the action sequences!... Godric's Hollow, Gringotts, Malfoy Manor (Hermione's torture), Battle... sooo many things to fit into the film. So they may have to either extend the dealine to 2011 or cut loads of stuff out! huh.gif

...or of course they may completely prove me wrong and produce a perfectly full, action packed, true-to-the-book film by early 2010! rolleyes.gif

It is perhaps I little to early to say laugh.gif But on www.imdb.com it certainly does say that it is due to come out in 2010. I suppose we could guess at when it will come out and I think our best guess would be in June/July mainly because this is when the summer holidays come out and the directors know that going the cinema tends to happen in the holidays or they would release it near Christmas perhaps. Obviously I’m just guessing laugh.gif

I've heard that the last movie will come out sometime late 2009 or early 2010
but I could be wrong.
most likely it'll be summer of 2010 (:

which I think'll be cool because late 2009/early 2010 they're making a Harry Potter world at Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando, FL
so that would be a good end to the Harry Potter series (:
No.1_HarryPotterFan
I've heard a lot that it's going to be in 2010. I think they have already set that date, and need to release it then, a movie that's true to the book.
ioana.adam
i hope in 2009
LargeBlondeDeathEater
Please, please, please release Deathly Hallows in NOVEMBER 2010!

That way, the movie can earn more than ONE BILLION and possibly be number two behind Titanic in the all-time box-office.

DON'T RELEASE IT IN THE SUMMER BECAUSE HARRY POTTER MOVIES DON'T DO GOOD IN THE SUMMER! It's a winter movie!
No.1_HarryPotterFan
I totally think they should release it in the summer, because then I can go see it at the midnight show and be able to sleep in really late the next week. I think it would do well in the winter, but I hope its released in the SUMMER!!
Sir Cadogan
I think that they'll release it October 10th, 2010.

Imagine how cool it'll look on the posters if the release date is 10/10/10? And it would be in theatres in time for Halloween, and we all know how important Halloween is in the series. Actually, how about a Halloween release? Imagine this in the trailor:

"It all started on October 31st... And on October 31st, it all comes to an end..."

Cool, eh? But I believe that it will have a Summber 2010 release.
No.1_HarryPotterFan
Ooh, that would be cool if it was 10/10/10! But it would have to be a Friday or Saturday because otherwise I couldn't see the midnight release, and that would be really dumb!

I also think having it released in summer would be cool.
Pawprint
Both the 10/10/10 and the Halloween release date would be awesome!
So far, I guess it will probably be in 2010, but for the reasons someone above said, I'm getting myself ready for it to be in 2011... They must make an extremelly good movie, all the others have been amazing and they can't ruin it in the end, no way!
I'm looking forward to the epilogue part... It will probably be extremelly short though...
But the battles!!!! They'll be awesome!!! And the dragon, and shell cottage! Wow! It will be great!!! Can't wait!!!

No.1_HarryPotterFan
Yeah, that would be a very cool trailer... I can just imagine that... but you know they won't. They never have words in their trailers.

I think it will be in the summer of 2010 but i hope its the week that movie 1(Nov.15), 2(November16th) and 4(November 18) came out in november, as well as the week movie 6(Nov. 21st) is coming out. I'd love this because it would be on the friday. It would be the 19th, my birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great was to end the movie series!
Battlefield2142
i love the books and movies. so i'd have to say the release date isn't soon enough.

Mod Edit: One liner and short posts like yours are not permitted on the forums, please elaborate in future. Thanks
Padfoot_Sirius_Black
Ok, i think about maybe 2010. Only because the 6th movie hasnt came out yet. So i think it should be hitting the theatres around 2009-2010. Cant wait for the movie though, its gonna be the best yet!
ginnypotter9495
i've heard allot about 2010 i'm going to be 16!!!!!!! anyway it would be cool if it was in winter but i don't think many people will see it in winter i think it'll do better in the summer no school people out of work ect.
Witherwings
I'd have thought 2010 anyway, but now I know that it's (probably) true, it says it all over the place. It seems like far, but when you think of it I remember going to see GOF like it was yesterday! mellow.gif And you have to take in consideration the fact that there will be HBP between now and then.

Whenever it does, I hope it's soon! Sir Cadogan, your 10/10/10 and Halloween release dates are perfect ideas

10th of October 2010...would be on a Sunday...YES! That would be the weekend after my fifteenth birthday! I'd go crazy, just ecstatic if I got tickets for my birthday! But even if I did, I don't think I could wait six whole days to see it. Halloween is also on a Sunday that year, so I'd be able to see it on a weekend then too!

My assumption is that they'd begin filming January 2009, around the same time as Order of the Phoenix. Since that came out in the summer...I'm afraid that it'll come out in the summer as well.

But wait, there's more: The Order of the Phoenix was the shortest film, and since they'll probably make the Deathly Hallows film be longer than the Order of the Phoenix, it may come out in October - November 2010.

The Order of the Phoenix book, however, was longer than the Deathly Hallows by over 100 pages, so maybe they'll finish filming faster, perhaps much earlier, and come out in October 2009 - February 2010.

Aargh! The suspense is killing me! I wish that filming wouldn't take so long. I might just have to steal a time turner to find out when...

P.S. Sorry for the long post!

Well it's been confirmed that it's 2010 - I'd HATE it if it was released in 2009 - imagine?? They'd have about 6 months to get all the filming done, and that is definately not enough for the last film.

I reckon filming will begin in January/February 2009 (HBP filming began 3 months after the release of OotP), and I think they'll finish filming in late 2009. Then there's all the putting it together, cutting bits out etc., and I think that will take them to early 2010. So I think a Summer release is what we're looking at:

PS - November 16th 2001
CoS - November 15th 2002
PoA - June 4th 2004
GoF - November 18th 2005
OotP - July 12th 2007
HBP - November 21st 2008
DH - ???

So looking at the pattern for the film releases (apart from the time between PS and CoS), I think it'll be a June/July 2010 release. But, as it is the final one and they'll (hopefully) want to get it absolutely perfect, it could be an October/November release. I doubt they'd keep us waiting for a whole 3/4 months just so they could release it on 10/10/10 or Halloween- if they're really mean they might tongue.gif

Anyway, they were going to release OotP on 07/07/07 but that fell through, so I'm not sure if they'd want to try to release it on another palindromic date!

The Writing on the Wall
forums say 2010, but i think it wont be 10/10/10, i mean, the book wasnt 7/7/07
Felix2090
Well, now that the split has been confirmed, they have announced the months of the two separate movies. The first will be released in November 2010, and the second in May 2011. I think this is an appropriate release time. Close enough so that they are not too far apart, but far enough away to keep them separate
