Of all the things to ask, all the questions racing through your head. Maybe there is a story you want to tel her, maybe you want her to tell you a story.
Anything your heart desires! What are some of the questions/ideas/stories/things you want to tell JK?
Lets hear it!

That we are really greatful for all her time and that I love her stories sooooo much. And I would ask if she could answer all my questions.
I.e. - if you could get one wish, my wish would be for more wishes? - cheesey, but hey.
But seriously, I would ask her to continue writting the HP world, even if it is not about Harry.

If it was just that I could only
say something to her I would say:
"Thank you, Jo, for maintaining Dumbledore's prowess and lessening the blow of his death for me by making his demise of his own volition."If I could ask her a question, I would ask her:
"Can you please definitively tell the rest of the HPFandom that Harry was indeed a Horcrux?... some of them really can't seem to let go of their doubts."
Either circumstance I would then squeeze in a:
"Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.. I love you and all that you have given to us through the Harry Potter series!" Then I would hug her.

MOD EDIT: You will be receiving a PM from a moderator shortly.
Do you feel a mother’s love is more important than a father’s?
In PoA you have Sirius & Lupin being the judge, jury and executioner of Wormtail. In what way would this be acceptable to do before three 13-year olds? Would they just return to classes after the death?

First I would thank her for these books, but what I would really like to know is why she devoted the entire epilouge to telling us the number and names of the babies the surviors had. Why didn't you tell us what jobs they got after Hogwarts. Or whether the trio eventually went back to complete their magical educations. As it stands they're all pretty much high school drop outs. That's disapointing.

Oh she did answer that lately giving a summary.
Harry, Ron and Hermione revolutionize the Ministry. Harry and Ron are in the Auror Department and Hermione is in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
Luna is travelling the world looking for odd creatures that she is so known to believe in and being the wizarding world's equivalent to a "Naturalist".
I'm sure we will learn more in the Encyclopedia that 'probably will' be released.

If I could talk to JKR, I would first thank her for writing the HP books and giving her readers a great ending to the series. I would then ask her how she was able to come up with the idea for the HP books, how she could keep coming up with new characters and story lines. It would be great to meet her and pick apart her brain!

It's simple, I'd say "Thank you for writing such a great series of books." I guess I want to question her about certain things in the books or what happens to so and so in the future, but no, I'm just happy that she gave me many hours of enjoyment with her writing.

id just say.... "That was bloody brilliant!!! we thank you for everything you've given us through the books...now could you PLEASE write more?"

If I could ask her one question....it would be....why she chose not to end the series with Harry and Hermione together even before she made the pairings "obvious" in the sixth book. I would also commend her on creating such a great series that I will never forget and read over and over and over.

Jul 28 2007, 02:16 AM
I would say, "Why Severus? Why couldn't Lily/Severus just get together?"
Well, obvisouly, then the series would never have happened. . .but still. . .
That was just so depressing.

One thing? Just one? Then I'd have to say "Well done", and for the rest just look sheepishly because there is too much else that I'd like to congratulate her with specifically, all of which makes the lesser things pale to insignificance. She has created an amazing series of books that will surely give pleasure to untold millions of all ages for many years if not centuries to come.

bethdd3, well said, and I totally agree! I never knew books could make me that emotional, and I've read quite a lot of books, so that's saying something. And if I could have one wish fulfilled, it would definitely be to have a look inside her head, because her books are some of the most realistically written stuff I've ever read and I really feel that I've been a part of it.

I'm unsure if I'd have anything to ask her, I'm sure most of the question floating on the HP fansite forums will be answered in the encyclopedia since their pretty general, but I would tell her
Thank you for this

i would ask her "why didnt you mention that harry was related to voldemort and salazar slytherin?" which is true, if my diagram of a family tree is correct, because since harry is a descendant from the peverells, and daddy gaunt was the "last living descendant" from the peverells and merope was voldemorts mommy and harry was related to the peverells, doesnt that mean that harry was indeed related to voldemort? and (if youre following me), wasnt voldemort related to salazar slytherin, making HARRY a descendant of slytherin...somethin to think about...

There are so many things that I want to say to you but really, just to sum them all up: Thank you. You've given us a sense of adventure and a unique world. You've brightened our imaginations and given us a truely amazing gift. So thank you, J.K. Rowling.

Mine would probably be really lame if I got put on the spot.
I'd ask her if she wrote on paper on on a computer or something like that. LAME!
I think if I had time to think, I'd ask her if she always planned to get ron and hermione together....

If i could say one thing to JK?
I WANT MORE! - its worth a try!
But if that didnt work i would ask her if she couldve wrote on forever what would have happened to all the survivors not just Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione and their children.
And also WHY did Fred have to die! How could you split the twins up?

I would say thanks for the series and please contemplate filling in the holes. (1) Stories of the 4-founders of Hogwarts need to be told (2) Sirius/James/Lily/Snape back story needs to be filled in.

kind of random here, but I would like to ask, how come nobody seems to apparate into hogsmead when the term begins. Everyone seems to be riding the hogwarts express. I can understand about the lower years and the headboy/girl and prefects, but EVERYONE seems to ride the train.

What i would tell JKR is "thank you for the great HP books, you have created some of my favorite fictional characters. But i am very displeased with the epilouge and the way you did not put anything important in it. you have come so far with the HP books but in my oppinion threw it all away with a horrible ending to a fantastic series." sorry but its true.

It's a given to say thank you for creating a series that got me obsessive about reading again. But on that note I think my frustration would have to come out here.
1. Who was the wizard that did magic?
2. Elaborate more on the characters in the epilogue
3. WHY SEVERUS!!!

Aug 4 2007, 08:24 AM
After bowing deeply to her fantasy and way of story telling, after letting her knowing that it is her fault if I started reading books in english, if then I could ask something to JKR I'll ask two things:
- where do the Potters live ?
I really hope in Grimmauld Place ... I love that place and I think it deserves a new life
- is Kreacher living with them ?
If he doesn't, may I borrow him ? If he does the homework for me and my family, I swear I let him call me "filth" and 'mud-blood" whenever he likes !!!

Well done Decander for coming up with this thread!!

I would say...
THANK YOU! For the wonderful world of Harry Potter!
I would also ask her what Lily and James did for a living, and I would like to know more about the backgrounds of people, like Lily and James, and the four founders of Hogwarts, etc.

That’s hard! I’m not sure what ONE thing I would ask/say to J.K but it would be one of the following for sure…
1. Why did Snape have to die?
2. Why did Lupin and Tonks have to die? Because to me it seemed just like two names you had put on the paper and because we did not read their death I felt less connected to them.
3. Why didn’t you reveal more in the epilogue?
Then at the end I’d add in 'Thank-you so much for Harry Potter!'

Jeez, I really don't think I could pick one. My list would go on and on and on. Here are just SOME of the questions I'd ask.
*Will there ever be a new Dark Lord?
*What ended up happening to George?
*What became of the Order?
*What happened to Luna?
*What happened to Neville?
*What happened to Seamus?
*what happened to Dean?
*What happened to the Patil Twins?
*How did Harry ask Ginny to marry him? Was it romantic?
*How did Ron ask Hermoine to marry him? Was it romantic?
*What happened to the Dursleys?
And the biggest question of all...
WHY ARE YOU SUCH A GOOD WRITER???

Back in the summer of 1997 or 1998 when I was working in Edinburgh, I visited the Waterstones Bookshop on Princes Street. I was in the JRR Tolkien section; when a woman in a long flowing gypsy style skirt (of shimmiering reds and browns) came up beside me, picked a book off the shelf and said to no-one in particular 'Oh this looks like a good one'; then put the book back on the shelf and disappeared ... she seemed to just vanish into thin air ...
The book was the first HP book. I picked it up, read the back ... swithered .. then put it back on the shelf.
Maybe a year later ... the HP books were getting praised in the local press; me ma'am told me sister ... who bought HP books 1 & 2 (all that was out at the time). Me sister said they were great books ... I should read them to my kids ... and she gave the books to me.
For weeks and weeks HP 1&2 rolled around in the front of my car ... unread ... unloved ...
Eventually ... grudgingly ... I picked up HP1. Dear me the first chapter seemed to drag ... then it happened ... I read the bit about harry waking up and pulling a spider off his socks ... the cupboard under the stairs was full of them, and that was where he slept.' From that point on I was a HP fan. Pure and simple.
I've so enjoyed reading the books, and the quality family time that reading the books as a family has brought. The characters, the comedy, the romance, the disasters, the trauma .. what a roller-coaster.
So to JKR I would say ... the mystery woman in Waterstones was right ... HP was a 'good one'. I hope you write more.

I'd ask "Why do you say Snape isn't a hero?"
I know she based him supposedly on a teacher she hated but I can't see that Snape was very much like her teacher by the final book (if he is I'd ask for the teachers number - especially if he looks like Alan Rickman

) .
I mean come on Snape's a hero - my favourite character by a mile.

Oooh, I agree here. I would also ask why she doesn't feel Snape is deserving of the title 'hero'. I think by far he was the most fantastic character she wrote and the complexity of his loyalty she kept hidden forced the hero title upon him whether she likes it or not. As for looking like Alan Rickman, we already know that he doesn't. Snape from the book is pretty gruesome, whereas Alan is simply beautiful
I would also ask her Who loved Snape? We know he loved Lily...but JKR said there was someone who loved him...who was it?

To Infamous_hat:
I think she was talking about the scene in the end of the movie, when Snape stood in front of the trio to protect them. Though I don't remember from who, maybe Lupin in his werewolf stage. So this relates that Snape protected Harry for Lily, I think.
What would I say to J.K.Rowling?
I'd ask her more about the Veil, that locked room in the Department of Mysteries. That really intrigued me.
And of course, I would thank her for the joy of reading the books...Just loved them all. And now it feels so empty inside, to know that there will be no more Harry Potter..

Dear Ms. Rowling,
Thanks for writing an amazing book series. i'm defineltly the youngest person i know that actually reads the books. i started when i was seven and i am now fourteen. I recently got all of my siblings to start reading the HP books on our family RV trips [theyre original excuse was there was nothing better to do while sitting in the car for hours, but i know they liked them]. your books are amazing and my favorite is definetly DH even though someone gave away to me every single person that died. The only thing i don't really understand is why you has s many deaths in your books. I see reason for Cedric-- to show that Voldemort is really back and to put emphasis on that. I i understand Dumbledore was so Harry could find the Horcruxes on his own [i think?]. Sirius i'm not so sure about but maybe the same sort of idea, so Harry could stand on his own??
P. Burbage-- to take over Muggle Studies
Mad-Eye--- i think to show that Voldemort & Co. are powerful enough to take down even the toughest of people
Hedwig-- i have no idea! i loved Hedwig and liek it said in the book it was Harrry's link to the magical world ad also a very smart bird. Why?
Scrimigeour-- Obvious. So Voldemort could take over the Ministry and add to the thickening plot of the story
Dobby-- i kind of get it. I think it kind of emphasized how important he was and as well as the rest of the house elves cus it caused us to remember how he helped over the years, but still very sad!!!
Ted-- Probs to show that Voldemort is attacking muggle borns
Peter Pettigrew-- basically just to prove Dumbledore right
Crabbe- RANDOM!!! i have no idea why.
Fred- RANDOM! did no add to the plot in anyway except for making everyone sad and he was such a happy character!! and he was talking about his wedding before and everything why??? Harry gave him and George money to open a joke shopso that they could bring happiness into a very sad time. so sad..... he was my faovrite
Snape- sad but i see why
Lupin and Tonks-- RANDOM they just had a kid! why would you have him grow up like Harry? without his parents and with relatives? maybe to give harry the oppourtunity to be the godfather sirius never got the chance to be?
Colin Creevey-- SUPER RANDOM we hardly heard about him in last couple books and all the sudden the adorable kid with the camera dies???? i don't get it...
okay well thats all i have to say
does anyone else agreee???

If I could say anything to J.K. It would be thank you.
thank you for writing a series that no one will ever foget. You have changed many peoples lives. Growing up with Harry has been a real treat for me, and I am sure many others as well. You put 17 years of hard work all into 7 books, and people all over the world thank you for what you did! Even tho harry is done, or so you say, He willl never really be done with any of the fans, for yes, there will be no new, but we have the beginning to start from again and relive the adventure u kept along with us. It's Harry will never be gone, not as long as every harry potter fan remains loyal to him, and I am sure that every fan never wants to think harry is gone and they will remain loyal to him until the end.
Again, thnx for makeing such a great series and we hope that ur next is just as good or even better! EVery fan will wait to see what new thing you come up with next.
Ok, Luna luvs...
i agree tht sum of the deaths rele took me by shock, but J.K must have her reasons.

I would tell her that Harry Potter was a GREAT series, one of the best ever written. I started these books when I was six and now I'm thirteen. These books are really what got me into reading. I will never forget the day when my best friend convinced me to read the series, and my life has not been the same. Thank you SO much for helping me and so many others learn to enjoy reading.
