**SPOILERS**
This is just my One Shot continuation of the Epilogue in DH. I just felt like we didn't get enough info so I wanted to clear things up for myself by adding more closures. Hope you like it.
The last trace of steam evaporated in the autumn air. The train rounded a corner. Harry's hand was still raised in farewell.
"He'll be all right," murmured Ginny.
As Harry looked at her, he lowered his hand absentmindedly and touched the lightening scar on his forehead.
"I know he will." The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years.
As they turned around to leave, the wished their farewells to Ron, Hermione, and Hugo. Settling back into their magically enhanced car, Ginny pulled out of the station heading for home on one of the mountains close to her parents house.
Harry let his mind wander to events over the past years since the fall of Voldemort. He, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny had gone back to Hogwarts to complete their education and receive their NEWTS. Hermione, having collected her parents from Australia and reset their identities, wanted to somewhat follow in their footsteps. With much pride from her parents, she pursued a career as a Healer. Her top marks from school added to her services to the wizarding community during the war made her a shoe-in for the spot. Currently, she is working towards the position as Top Healer and Healer-in-Charge.
Her studies and advanced experiments, which she worked side-by-side with Neville, was successful in bringing about the return of Neville's parents. With Hermione's brain and Neville's accute knowledge of plants and herbs, they were able to concoct a potion that brought their sanity back to normal. Currently, they are living out a quiet life living on the enormous donation the MoM gave them for their services to the wizarding world during the first reign of Voldemort.
They are visited often by Neville whenever he is on break from teaching Herbology at Hogwarts along with his Head of Gryffindor duties. They have taken up badgering him of late about settling down and giving them grandchildren of their own. Neville had just confessed to Harry recently that he had purchased a ring for a pretty girl he had met through Hermione while they were working together on the potion for his parents. He planned on asking her for her hand in marriage soon. Harry smiled at the thought of Neville having kids and the pride of his parents that almost didn't come at the hands of Bella. At least Bella would never be able to torture anyone again. Mrs. Weasley had seen to that.
Speaking of the Weasley's, Harry thought about how much Mr. and Mrs. Weasley's life had changed since that fateful battle. Mr. Weasley, still working in the Muggle Artifact department, had taken a considerable pay raise as a thank you for his hand at helping to stop Voldemort. Kingsley Shacklebolt, still the Minister of Magic today, had made sure of this. The Weasley's no longer have any troubles when it comes to money. Although they have remained in the same crooked house with the ghoul still occupying Ron's old room, their creature comforts have greatly improved. They now have new robes whenever they need them and take extended vacations at the spur of the moment. They just recently returned from a two month vacation in Australia having heard all the wonderful stories from Hermione's parents. Not to mention, Harry smiled again, spoiling their grandchildren with lavish gifts. He thought about the Firebolts they had bought each of their grandchildren for their first birthdays.
Mrs. Weasley helps out George and Lee Gordon at the joke shop whenever she can. She has even consented to being a tester from time to time on their new experiments. Harry laughed inwardly thinking of the time she turned into a giant purple frog and had to remain that way for a week until they worked out an antidote. He figures she hasn't looked at a fly the same way since.
Luna and Dean ended up getting married a few years after that last battle. Her father having passed away a few years ago, they decided to take up residence in his old house and run the Quibbler themselves. Although it still has some strange articles about unknown creatures Harry has never heard of, there seems to be a new flair which he can only contribute to Luna's whimsical personality. She's due any day to have their first child. That probably explains all the cross-breeding articles as of late.
Ron, having decided to follow Harry in career choices, is working at the MoM as an Unspeakable. Ever since his encounter with the brain all those years ago, Ron hasn't gotten over his fascination of them. He is hoping to unlock the mysteries of knowledge and intelligence so maybe he can figure out what makes Hermione tick. He's actually come a long way with only a few more tentacle scars. He's since learned not to summon them from the tank. A lesson he had learned the hard way.
Harry, having learned that his mother had been an Unspeakable from Slughorn upon completing his NEWTS, had decided to resume her work. She was responsible for the Locked Room which was filled with so much of her love. Every time Harry walks through the door, his mother's love fills him up once more with a warmth so powerful, he feels invincible. It's as close as he has ever been able to come to feeling his mother's arms around him since he was one. Tears sting his eyes as he thinks about it. But knowing that it was her love that saved him the first time and his love of others that saved him again, he feels that it is the best place for him. The Room has become considerably fuller since he started working there that they had to expand it to accomodate.
His mind wanders to Draco's marriage to Pansy Parkinson and their child. Draco's father had not been present due to his imprisonment at Azkaban. The dementors, no longer guarding the prison, were imprisoned themselves. Having been rounded up and locked away with the use of Patronuses, most have died out from lack of food source no longer having human emotions to feed off of. Draco's father, along with all of the other captured Death Eater's, have had their magic stripped from them. Another little handy potion of plants and herbs discovered by Neville. They are no more than common muggles now. They have become that which they so despised. A fitting way for them to end. Narcissa was granted leniency due to her lie to Voldemort about Harry's true state when he had asked her if he was alive or dead. Harry personally stood up for her at the hearing.
Percy had married Penelope and had two children. George had married Angelina Johnson and were expecting their second child in a couple of months. Charlie had married a pretty dragon trainer from Romania. Along with their four children, they are expecting their seventh batch of dragon eggs. They had bought a huge place in the mountains of Romania and are raising and breeding dragons as part of their work.
Kreacher, having passed away a few years ago, had managed to pass along an heir. She was as cute as a house elf could be with the honor, respect, and loyalty that her father had shown to Harry over those last few years of his life. Although Harry had given Kreacher clothes and wages, he remained loyal to the end. Krayla, Kreacher's heir, has also been given clothes and wages, and she remains true and loyal to Harry and his family. Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione have taken active roles in SPEW that Hermione had started back during their years at Hogwarts. They have made some major changes over the course of the past few years. As a result, the house elves have become happier and more loyal to their families. All those house elves that were treated in a cruel and harsh manner have left their families and found new homes in more appreciative families. Even the Weasley's have acquired a house elf to help with the cooking and cleaning.
Ginny...his beautiful wife Ginny. They were married about 12 years ago after they had all completed their educations. Not to mention she had spent a few years playing Quiddich for the Puddlemere United. Harry never failed to miss a game. However, she decided she was ready to settle down, get married, and start a family. Something Harry was ever so ready for. She knew that she couldn't continue playing Quiddich if she got pregnant so she retired early. These days, she takes care of her family and kids. Whenever needed, she fills in as Professor at Hogwarts if a professor has to take some time off for one reason or another. It's rumored that she may be offered permanent position as DADA Professor once all of their children are attending school. She hasn't decided whether or not she will accept this prestigous position, but Harry has told her that he will back her 100% no matter what she decides.
From somewhere far off, Harry heard his daughter Lily's voice. "Daddy, can you and Mommy teach me some Quiddich moves when we get home? I really want to play when I get to go to Hogwarts. I'm sure Al and James will be on the team if they try out. Maybe you can show me some moves that even they don't know yet?" Lily smiles that huge pleading smile that Harry can't resist.
"Sure, sweetheart. Anything you want." Harry smiles back and brushes her hair with his hand.
"What position do you want to play, Lily?" asks her mother Ginny.
"Well, you were Chaser and Daddy was Seeker. Can you show me both so I can try out for both of them to increase my chances of making the team? I'd have a better chance especially since I think Al wants to try for Seeker when he is old enough. I think James wants to be Beater like Uncle George." Lily added as an afterthought.
"Well, the more you know the better you will be. Maybe we can get Uncle Ron, Aunt Hermione, and Cousin Hugo to come over this weekend for dinner and have a three on three game with them," remarked Harry.
"Really!" shouted Lily. "That would be great!" Lily sat back in silence thinking about the upcoming game this weekend with everyone. Harry turned to Ginny, grabbed her hand, and gave it a loving squeeze. Ginny smiled back as they turned into their spacious red-brick two-story home with green shutters. Gnomes scurried in every direction as they stopped in the driveway.
Harry turned back to Lily with a huge grin speading across his face and asked, "Are you up for a little Gnome hunting?"
Okay, hope you liked it. I'm not the best writer in the world but I just felt like I needed to clear things up for myself. Please leave me feedback here. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for reading!!
