Ooh...what did you think of Batman Begins?

I was totally blown away by it, I've got to admit. I really loved Michael Keaton's Batman, and I always thought that all the others that came after just kept getting worse and worse and I honestly thought that the whole thing was dead now, but Christian Bale did an absolutely outstanding job....he really had all aspects of the character done to perfection, IMHO. Not to mention the script was so well done...visually, the film looked fantastic as well - major kudos to Christopher Nolan, he did a wonderful job.

That Scarecrow was pretty strong stuff, wasn't he? First time I've been genuinely creeped out by a Batman villain....tongue.gif Beautiful eyes though....*sigh*

Really hope they make some sequels now - give me something else to spend me cinema money rather than GoF...wink.gif

isnt he just to die for? i wish he was in more of that movie.

i saw that one movie 'just friends' or 'more then friends' something like that...it was pretty class.

i also saw Sahara...now i dont know if any of you have heard of it but its kinda bassed on the book by Clive Cussler (great writter) but the book is better by a long shot but the movie has some really funny bits, its not out in england yet though.

later `jess`

MOD EDIT : *sigh* You'll never grasp this rule, will you? Netspeak is not allowed in the forums - "u" should have been "you". And replacing a letter for another to hide a swear word is still considered swearing. Can you please make more of an effort when penning your posts?

yeah i liked batman, it was really good i saw it yesterday, well it wasn't as good as the old-old batman films but still cool.

Jess...Jason Isaac? ok yeah he is kinda cute in a old kinda man way!

MOD EDIT : It doesn't take you more than 2 seconds to type "yeah" rather than "ye". Please type in full next time, thanks.

I saw Batman Begins recently, and It was by far the best Batman movie I've seen. Seeing as how I'm only 15, I really haven't watched the old Batman movies. The oldest one I've seen was Batman Forever with George Clooney. Back to Batman Begins, I never suspected Liam Neeson as the culprit. I thought that the Scarecrow was the puppetteer. And Dana, I was really creeped out by the Scarecrow. Especially when, near the end, his horse shot flames out the nose. Batman was sorta creepy whenever the people saw him with the gas. My favorite part was when Batman said, "Does it come in Black" and whenever K. Holmes (can't remember her character's name) shot the taser at the scarecrow and he ran off.

madness_within

I really enjoyed the movie, and I must agree that Christian Bale was brilliant, and delicious tongue.gif
I was surprised to see Liam Neeson playing a bad guy, I hadn't seen him portay a villian before (I do not count Michael Collins as a bad guy), he was amazing!
I did enjoy Michael Keaton's Batman, but I thought that Val Kilmer and George Clooney did a good job also.
I found that Katie Holmes was quite poor in her performance, I didn't think that she was fully into the role, and left me feeling as though there was something missing.
The Scarecrow was a very clever creation for a villian. It was also good using an underlying moral of 'drugs are bad'.
Apparantley they are making a second Batman with Christian Bale and all the cast has been signed except for Katie Holmes, who they are deliberately not signing.

2 hours ago I saw war of the worlds. It's suprisingly good. It's pretty scary but great for a date, but seeing it just with friends is cool because either way it's really exciting.
Mrs.Black
Lords of Dogtown, very bad movie in my opinion tongue.gif

MOD EDIT: Hi there, we're not allowing one-liner on the forums, so maybe you could say a bit more about your opinion there next time, eh? Thanks.

I saw Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants yesterday. It's a pretty odd chick flick, but it was okay. Not to die for...
The-Fat-Lady
The last film I saw was Batman Begins.
I had never seen a Batman movie before because I didn't really think it would be my kind of movie but I actually really enjoyed it!
I thought that the Scarecrow villain was really scary when he put that mask on for the first time!
The only criticism I have for this movie is that it was a little bit predictable but apart from that I really liked it!
IndigoLily
I saw sisterhood of the travelling pants.
rolleyes.gif
It was one of the better chick flicks I've seen, I admit I cried. But it's more of a rent it kind of movie, rather than see it in theatres kind.
spanish_potter
I saw Batman Begins Yesterday, A nice film but it was a bit bored.
Feeder
The last movie I saw was War of the Worlds which was awful. I can't believe I wasted my money on that junk. There aren't any movies out that I'm really interseted in.

Please mention any good movies that are out because I need something to get War of the Worlds off my mind.
Abbyernathie
Just today I saw Herbie- Fully Reloaded. It was so cute and funny! I totally recommend it. It was really cute and funny (yes, i know i said that already.)
Amy_Marie
I saw the horror flick "Dark Waters" the other day. It wasn't too scary...but very creepy. I recommend it! The acting was wonderful. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

Now, there aren't too many HUGE scary surprises. It is just...creepy, you know?

Made me fear bathrooms. Heh, just kidding. Go out and see it though, it's a fun movie.
Jedi Master Doug Eric
The last movie I saw was Star Wars Episode III Revenge Of The Sith. That was back at the beginning of June. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it. Hurry though, it'll be leaving soon. It's awesome, but then again I am a Star Wars fanatic.
Louise
Oh, totally agree...Hayden Christenson was just outstanding, IMHO....I really felt his pain, you know? And towards the end...Obi-wan screaming, 'You were my brother, Ani!'....*sniff*

Can't believe I blubbed in a Star Wars movie.....I'm such a wuss.... tongue.gif
matt22
The last movie I saw at the cinemas was either Star Wars 3 or Madascar. Can't remember which. However, Star Wars was the best of the entire series but I didn't think much of Madascar. I wouldn't have found it is interesting as younger kids but it was hard to control boredom. This is just my opinion though.
magically delicious
I've seen a lot of movies recently, most of which have been really good, but the most recent one I've seen that I liked was War Of The Worlds.
penny_for_your_thoughts
The last movie I saw was at this theater where the movies shown are no longer in regular theaters; because of this you only have to pay $1.50 per seat.
Anyway, I saw "Monster-in-Law" with Jennifer Lopez. It was pretty funny, but corny at the end. I didn't like it that much.
secretkeeper
I went and saw Stealth last weekend. EXCELLENT!! It was like a modern version of Top Gun. A lot of special effects. I was on the edge of my seat. Even the girls liked it, even though it didn't have Tom Cruse flying a jet.
alien_from_mars
Ive just seen dark waters- which was good, thought it would be a jumpy scary film, but it wasnt.

And also just saw Charlie and the choco factory which is excellent in my opinion. smile.gif
Gryffindor Rock Chick
The last movie I saw was Bewitched. I think it is a fun little film. Not as good as the tv show but I don't think it deserves the criticism it has been receiving.
ronozzy_82
Wow, the last time I went to the theater was ages ago! The last movie I saw was War of the Worlds. It was pretty good, a little freaky though. Tom Cruise was excellent - but I really liked Dakota Fanning even though I don't "like" her most of the time. And her brother (in the movie) was really cute! tongue.gif But anyway-...It was good and I definitely recommend it.

Yeah War o fthe Worlds was great an dit had miranda otto in. that girl was pretty as well but the last film i saw at the cinema was fantastic 4 and if only she had taken all her clothes off before appearing
Big D
hmm, last film i saw at the cinema was, fantastic four, which was ok. if you like a lot of brainless action, with not much of a plot!

Before that it was Charlie and choc factory which, is just surreal! Wierdest film ive seen in years!
prod
The latest movie that I have seen in the theatres was the island...which I really liked....

the latest movie I have seen....is coach carter...which I also really liked smile.gif

Verona
I just saw Red Eye a couple of hours ago in the theatres. It was quite good, Cillian Murphy was extremely good in his role and Rachel McAdams was quite good at it. At points it really sent chills down my spine, more towards the end, but it's not terribly scary, more suspenseful really.
Princess_Hermione
I saw Scary Movie, while I was at my friend's house, and I saw Close Encounters of the Third Kind (very haunting) and Cry-Baby (cool movie!) while I was in California during the last two weeks.
Ferret
The last movie I saw was Sin City, well, it wasn't as good as I expected it to be but it was still good, I meal, this black/white/sometimes colourful-thing was very impressive, and the film had lots of stars, but I missed the plot tongue.gif
TheMalfoyCousins
has anyone seen that one movie, 'stuck on you?' my gosh thats movies so funny! i was laughing so much!
slytherinlvr
I have seen Stuck on You. That is like my favorite movie. The last movie I saw at the cinema was "The Brothers Grimm". It was an awesome movie and my friends couldn't get me to go with them to go get popcorn and candy in the middle of the movie (usually I go).
Ygraine
The last film i saw was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, saw it twice it was so good!

You found it surreal Big D? Hmm I thought it was pretty main stream and well...normal, for Tim Burton anyway.

Have you seen Big Fish? Now that's weird!
littlexoxlotte
The last movie i saw in the theatre, was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, i want to see red eye, but i heard it was pretty bad
Superfan_Harry
The last movie i saw was Red Eye. Giving it a rating of 1-10, I definetly would say 6. Only because it took a while for the movie to get going (like 40 mintues) and when the action came it was only for like 30 minutes.
Big D
Hey Ygraine, i dont know what it was about it, it was just really surreal! maybe i hadnt had enough sleep, and it seemed wierder than it was wink.gif

yes i have seen big fish and that is a quality film, not one to watch in the background , but one you have to watch fiercely to get the point, plus imagination is essential for getting it, and that makes a great film in my opinion. Plus its got ewan mcgreggor in it, and he's one of my favourite actors, ever since trainspotting I've tried to pick up on everyone of his films, he's just got such a talent.

speaking of ewan, has anyone seen the island? im quite tempted to go see that, but just gotta find the time! is it any good?
SantaSCSI
I saw War Of The Worlds and Mr and Mrs Smith lately.
War of the worlds was one of the worst i ever saw. A lot of things are not explained. The only thing that made the movie stad were the special effects.

Mr and Mrs Smith on the other side, is on of the best i've seen. funny, cool and good actors. Some people say the plot is not super, but i'd sayits one of the better plots i've seen.
Ygraine
Mmmmm Ewan McGregor....So fine...makes you proud to be scottish. wink.gif

Yes, Big Fish is rather fantastic, i love weird films like that when at the end i'm like...'err, what was that about?' but when you think about it you find that it's about loads of things.

Has anyone seen Spirted Away? It's so good. BUt you're really are left with that 'ummm what?' feeling. laugh.gif

I am rather tempted with the island but as i'm completely skint mad.gif (must get a job) i think i'll wait until it comes out on DVD.
...miia...
well, i usualy dont go to the cinema because i download the movies from the internet

the last movie i saw was monster in law...in the cinema was madagascar, very funny!

kiss
miia
Big D
Yeah thats not exactly the reason i like ewan mcgreggor! laugh.gif I more impressed by his acting ability rather than anything else, but there you go! I'll just be content with being british when it comes to actors like that!

not seen spirited away? who's in it, who's the director? I'll consider checking that one out if its wierd! laugh.gif

i know what you mean about being skint, comes from spending all your money about a week after payday, rather than spreading it out. sighs, really should learn to budget. Other than that, there's not much out at the moment to grab my fancy really, just seems to be a lot of run of the mill horror films! ohmy.gif which i have no interest in whatsoever!
Ygraine
It's Hayao Miyazaki, it's a manga film, and in Japanesse, (alhtough you can watch it in English on the DVD)

I'd seriously recomend it, it's fanstatic!.

I also just love Tim Burton films, i can't wait until his new one comes out the corspe bride, (see avatar) it looks so good!

Well, i don't have a job, just stinge of the rents! biggrin.gif what can i say i'm a social care student, i have no time to work!! (or won't when my placement starts.)

I'm just thankful i have folks i can cadge off, and i spend ALL my money on DVD's i love films (umm and alcohol...) or their money to be correct.
Big D
I thought that was it, i've just started getting into anime, with Akira being my first purchase! but i'm going to start buying a few more once my account recovers! wink.gif That sort of film has to be watched in japanese with english subtitles, it just sounds wrong otherwise! Have you seen akira?

Ive seen a trailer for the corpse bride, and it looks fairly tim burton like! wink.gif i thought i recognised your avatar from somewhere, just couldnt place it!

Lol, its been a long time since i could cadge off my rents, "If you want money you have to get a job!"was theyr response! So thats what i did at 18, 4 years later here i am! I feel old!

Im not as big a film fan as i am a music fan, but even so i still love my films! and there's a fewtop films due out on dvd soon, batman begins, sin city biggrin.gif a good month for dvds this month!
Ygraine
No i haven't seen Akira, but i've heard it's good.

Yeah you have to see these films in Japanesse, but you'd be suprised at how well the dubbing actually comes out, also there's so much to concentrate on it makes my head hurt sad.gif I normally see them with subtitles the first time, then watch them in english just so i can see any bits i may have missed out. biggrin.gif

I'd also recomend Princess Mononoke, it's another weird film. smile.gif Can't wait until corspe bride comes out *squeals*

Most peoples folks tell them to get a job, not mine! They're the complete oppisite, you might be envious, but it sucks in it's own little way, you can't get more money through overtime and stuff. I'm 20 and even though i live away from home i don't feel like i have independence.

Curse my parents for being accedemics! My studies are far more important then worrying about money. *sigh* But i think i might get one anyway, even if its just a few hours a week on a sunday tongue.gif i want to work! Call me crazy if you want wink.gif
Big D
you have to see Akira if you're into anime, make sure you get it next time you spend loads on dvds! the dubbing on akira isnt great so i resolved to not do anything else, and just watch that with the Japanese voiceover and english subtitles. It takes a fair bit of concentration, but its understandable! its got everything you could want in a film! Its very violent at times, but it is blindingly good!

ive heard very many good things about mononoke, its another one i need to get, but havent yet! Isnt that the one about the dragon being destoyed, symbolising the destruction of earth?

Im not envious at all, id rather earn my own way and not have them whinge at me! which they still do, but not as much as if i wasnt paying them for the privelage! I have the independance of my own money, but i still live at home, as i cant afford to leave! laugh.gif

can i really? ok, you're crazy! wink.gif ph34r.gif

seriously it might be worth it, that way you can spend more on dvds?! and not be so in debt when you finish uni?!
Ygraine
Grr,-ness my bulb just went and there are no spares! So angry!

Mononoke is a wee bit like that i guess, it's more about spirt gods and the greed and cruelness of humantity, and i guess how we as humans with our greed and stuff will bring upon our own destruction.

Oooh, i feel all smart having analyised that.

So hungry....

And yes i am crazy tongue.gif feel free to call me it. laugh.gif
Lulu
The last movie I saw was "Madagaskar"!
It was extremly funny, and deserves to be seen!! tongue.gif
Out of 6 I would rate it 5!
Awesome movie biggrin.gif
corijp
Aww...the movies. blink.gif
The last movie I went to see at the theatre was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I don't get to go to the movies much, well, unless it's a child friendly flick. At any rate, I usually just order from pay per view or rent them.
Oh! Madagaskar was very funny! It really was a cute movie. smile.gif
gryffindor89
The last movie i saw was Skeleton Key. It had a really good twist at the end. I would probably give it 3 out of 5 stars though.
