Why don't I just copy down the
entire 'The Forest Again' chapter? Because it was just so VERY moving. All of it. Each and every bit. Seeing Ginny as he walked past...knowing that he couldn't go to her, but wanting to so very, very badly. His parents. Seeing his mother and how pretty she is. It might've sounded weird to some people, but I think JKR wrote it so well. He was seeing
his mother. Not in a picture, not in a terrible battle, not in a terrbile dream. He was seeing her peacfully. He was finally able to take it all in. Who she was. What she looked like. Seeing the woman who tried so hard to save his life...wow. And then Sirius. Seeing him as he wanted to be- no longer bitter and torn up from his hard life. But fresh. New. Full of life. The exact same with Remus. No longer having to face a full moon with fear again....
It was all just so
perfect.
And when Ron's fears came from the locket. And he cried. And Harry was so very 'What? US? NO! You and her! God, am I the only one who saw this coming?'
(Wow, I should post that in the Ron/Hermione thread

)
The graves....I could feel what Harry was feeling. Just written so greatly. So true. I really got in touch with the character...even after all these years.

There were only two inspirational lines for me. The first, and biggest one, is when Harry asked Sirius "Does it hurt" when he was going into the forest for what he thought would be the final time.
The second one was when Harry, Ron, and Hermione were in Hogwarts looking for the Diadem. As they were heading for the Room of Requirement, Ron said they had forgotten to tell the house-elves. Then, Hermione kisses him.

I had loads of moving moments, but these are the most... well you know what I mean:
When Hermione's being tortured and Ron shouts her name
Ron and Hermione's first kiss (very cute I have to say)
The whole time when Harry realises he has to die, suddenly aware of every breath and every beating of his heart (I was in a kinda trance the whole chapter)
And the last conversation he has with Voldemort just before he "kills" him
And all the deaths - so sad.
But the entire book was so great it's really hard to choose.. good topic by the way.

Dobby. I must have used a whole roll of toilet paper to stem the flow of tears. When it says "Here lies a free elf". God, I'm even crying just thinking about it.
Also, when Kreature leads the other house elves out of the kitchens, shouting, "Fight for my master!"
(Sorry if the quotes aren't exact, cant be bothered to go get my book)

I really think one of the saddest moments was when Harry and Hermione go see his parents graves and hermione conjures those flowers...that made me tear up.....
One of the sweetest moments was right after that with Harry and Hermione outside the tent....i love that scene because it shows the Harry and Hermione really are like brother and sister.....and just the fact that she is so upset because he might be mad at her...it really rminded me of my relationship with my best friend who's like my brother....
I agree, i thought it was the saddest moment in the book when Harry visited his parents graves. I loved the moment when Hermione grasps Harry's hand to comfort him, another moment that shows the brother and sister like bond between the two of them, then they walk off arm in arm.
And of course The Princes Tale was my favourite part of the book, and the most touching. Always knew snape would come good

well of course i loved pretty much every moving moment that happened but one that hasn't been mentioned too much really got to me.
Griphook looked at him out of the corners of his slanting black eyes.
"You are an unusual wizard, Harry Potter."
"In what way"? asked Harry, rubbing his scar absently.
"You dug the grave."
"So?"
Griphook did not answer. Harry thought he was being sneered at for acting like a Muggle, but it did not much matter to him whether Griphook approved of Dobby's grave or not. He gathered himself for the attack.
"Griphook, I need to ask -"
"You also rescued a goblin."
"What?"
"You brought me here. Saved me."
"Well I take it you're not sorry?" said Harry a little impatiently.
"No, Harry Potter," said Griphook, and with one finger he twisted the thin black beard upon his chin, "but you are a very odd wizard."
"Right," said Harry. "Well, I need some help, Griphook, and you can give it to me."
The goblin made no sign of encouragement, but continued to frown at Harry as though he had never seen anything like him.
Just another example of the kind of person Harry is..and how is so much different than the death eaters and mostly all other wizards that hold prejudices againt those that are not like them

i'v just reread it, and although the book was full of moving lines and bits, the godrics hallow was perhapst the most moving. I just love the scene in the graveyard when harry goes:w,
" and what was the point in wiping them off, or pretending? He let the fall, his lips pressed hard together, looking down at tge thick snow hiding from his eyes the place where the last of Lily and James lay, bones now, suorerly, or dust, not knowing or caring that their living son stood so near, his heart still beating, alive because of their sacrifice and close to wishing, at this moment, that he was sleeping under the snow with them."
I mean omg, how beautifull is that.

I beleive I got choked up at every emotional part, except Dobby and Hedwig's deaths. I got choked up when Ron came back, when Snape told Harry to look at him when he died, when Fred, Tonks, and Lupin died, when he goes into the forest, and when he talks to Dumbledore. Man, I will be an emotional mess when I see the movie.

I think the most touching moments in DH is when Harry is burrying Doby. I read that and just cried. Harry could have easily just used magic to bury him and he didn't. He felt he owed to Doby to do the hard work. Doby had been a good friend. I also think the scene where Harry knows he has to die and holds the stone. He gets to really talk to his parents for the first time. I think knowing you are going to die and being willing to do it is powerful. But the fact the he got to talk to those he cared about that had died was more powerful. How many times did we see that Harry just wanted to talk to his parents. Well he got his chance. I couldn't stop crying. I was happy and sad for him at the same time.

So many moments
- Harry taking care of Amycus' shocking disrespect immediately, that was shivery
- Dudley saying "you're not a waste of space"
- Dumbledore telling Harry that Harry was the better man, and Harry stopping being angry at him
- Harry asking his mother to stay close
- Ron in the dungeon, with Hermione being tortured
- the rescue from Malfoy's
- Peter Pettigrew pausing, to his own astonishment
- Draco not wanting to look closely, so he wouldn't be able to identify anyone
- Ron and Harry after the locket is destroyed - very brilliant storytelling, just love Ron so much for looking at his fears, and then realizing there're nothing real to worry about
- Hermione sending her parents off, to forget her, such commitment
- Dobby's death of course, and burial, and Luna's words at the funeral
- Hagrid sobbing when he is carrying Harry
- Grindelward not betraying the wand's whereabouts
- Voldemort's shock at being called Riddle. Loved it.
- Hermione saving Lavendar from Fenris' bite
- Trewlawney and the tennis serve/crystal balls
- Ted Tonk's death struck me very hard
- Snape's death and the collected thoughts -very moving, and so wastefully motivated - shocking
- Snape's love for Lily, and his character development - such a complex man, and so real - is anyone truly a good guy or a bad guy through to the core? A mixture in us all - so interesting to see him painted with such vividness and scope.
- Dumbledore and Harry together again at the last, such great conversation.
An amazing book. I hope she writes some more for older readers, not just for pre-schoolers - I have no idea what she will write, just maybe she has some ideas because two of her kids are still pretty little, and she may have some ideas on hold in that direction. Anyway, whatever it is, I'll be looking forward to it!

Alright, I've posted so much tonight about DH. I'm on a role.
Anyway, the most moving line of the entire book was Snape's line as he lay dying next to Harry. "Look...at...me..." he [Snape] whispered.
The green eyes found the black, but after a second, something in the depths of the dark pair seemed to vanish, leaving them fixed, bland, and empty. The hand holding Harry thudded to the floor, and Snape moved no more. Something about that entire scene just moved me so much, because I am such a Snape fan. I hated the death, but the scene was written beautifuly."
And I know this a DH part, but I want to say in HBP, this line I fell in love with, and it used to be in my signature, but it was too long.: "It was, he thought, the difference between being dragged into the arena to face a battle to the death and walking into the arena with your head held high. Some people, perhaps, would say that there was little to choose between the two ways, but Dumbledore knew - and so do I, thought Harry, with a rush of fierce pride, and so did my parents - that there was all the difference in the world."
Something about that ending of a chapter amazed me. Jo's writing is brillitant

I thought a few parts were very moving. I cried when Dobby died and when Harry was at his parents grave.
But a part that really broke me up was when Harry sees his house for the 1st time and it says something like "the life he had lost only just became real to him" because he thought about having brothers and sisters and that.
And lastly (: I thought it was really nice when Lily says to Snape "Does it matter, being muggle born?" and he pauses and then says "No, it doesn't matter at all."
Lovely!

For me it has to be:
-The whole of snapes memories, that was just heartbreaking.
-Finding out about arianna dumbledore and what thoses boys did to her and how dumbledore gave up everything to care for her.
- Fred's death when he stil had a smile on his face.
-Percy coming back and his reaction to Fred's death.
- When Harry realised how it had to end and accepted it like a man
I may have some more soon!
But thats all i can think of now

Too many, I should say. JKR needs to be commended for writing inspirational bits throughout the series. Okay, in HP7- When Harry reads his mother's letter in Sirius' bedroom; When Harry visits his parents' graves; when Ron saves Harry from under the lake; When Dobby dies; When Harry digs Dobby's grave; when Harry thinks this
QUOTE
You gave Ron the Deluminator…You understood him…You gave him a way back…
And you understood Wormtail too…You knew there was a bit of regret there, somewhere…
And if you knew them…What did you know about me, Dumbledore?
Am I meant to know but not to seek? Did you know how hard I’d feel that? Is that why you made it this difficult? So I’d have time to work that out?
; When Harry walks to the forest to be killed by LV and sees his parents, sirius and lupin and asks his mother to stay. As of now, I can think of only these.

When Hedwig died, it was very sad because Harry had had her for a long time and she was with him all the time at the Dursley's. She seemed to understand Harry to a certain extent.

One of my all time favorite lines in Harry Potter series is when Albus Dumbledore says that it is our choice that shows what we are far more than our abilities. It is one of the most beautiful and truthful quotes. I have found that this has been always true in my entire life.

I don't a line that was an "awww" moment. But, I do have scenes in the book that just made me think "wow". I was touched by the way Harry felt he needed to dig the hole to bury Dobby in. He wanted to do it right way to honor Dobby for all that he was and all that he done to help Harry over the years. The other scene is in the woods when Harry is talking to the loved ones he has lost. I don't know if there could have been a better way for Harry to get the courage he needed to walk in to Voldemort's camp and know he walking into his death. It had a lot of moments that made me go "oh no". But these are the two that made me think "wow".

I Dont remember if this is from DH or not but as some point DD says
"Harry Only The Purest Sould Couldve Looked Into That Mirror and Not Seen Themselves Drinking Elixir of Life, or Turning Everything To Gold, But When You Looked You Saw Neither But The One Way To Thwart Voldemort, That Is When He Shouldve Realized What He Was Dealing With"
And Also in SS
"Harry It Does Not Do To Dwell on Dreams, and Forget To Live"
Which isnt moving until you read DH when DD tells about how he dreamt of nothing but seeing his family again, it makes you realize that hes telling harry not to make the same mistakes he did

One of the lines who made me shiver, and still does, is Lee's: "Keep each other safe. Keep faith."
Then, the whole chapter of The Forest Again, that was the moment when I started to cry. Most of the lines there made me sob. because you actually felt inside the guts of Harry.
Both when Dobby died and when Hedwig died, I felt out of breath, because, you could expect a character to die, but not one of those little and innocents creatures that helped Harry so much, and you'd thought they'd be there forever.
And then, the part of Snape's silver doe, when he showed it to Dumbledore ... it was very touching.
