I thought the movie wasn't long enough. They could have fit in an extra ten minutes to have the maraurder scene. I was very upset with how this scene turned out. I thought they didn't show the marauders nearly enough, and I didn't like how they didn't even have Lily in the scene.

They could have put a bit more effort into it. It seemed too quick, it was one of the bits I was looking forward to the most, there wasnt enough too it.

I agree that it was too fast. All I saw was a flash of sirius james and snape. i can't really see properly how everything was. They should make it like 5 minutes or something.

I was waiting for this part of the movie! I had my hopes up to high, I really wanted to watch that part of the movie! I can't beleive thats all we got! I was so mad, that they didn't show that scene as it should of been shown.

That was the one part I was most anxious to see out of the whole film, and I think that I had this built up image in my head that was almost impossible to compare to. Since I had built it up, I was dissapointed at that part. It was so short, and didn't show when Severus called Lily something... unkind. After seeing OOTP a couple more times, I am more content with that part.

I was actually quite dissapointed with this scene too. It was, along with the MoM scene and Fred and George's departure, one of the scenes I was most looking forward to. But it was nothing like I excpected.
James looked wrong, he looked completley different from Harry. The only things that were the same were the glasses and the black hair. Aren't they supposed to look really alike?
We didn't see Lily which a bit of a dissapointment. I imagine it would have been for Harry as well, it was his mum after all and this was his only chance up until that moment to see how she was at Hogwarts.
And the Mauraders hardly got a look in. I can't remember exactly but I think you just saw them all walking in a clique behind James and you never really seen much of them. There was no protesting from Lupin, no egging on from Sirius, nothing.
And last it was really short. I mean, it lasted maximum 2 minutes. Would it really have hurt to add in a few extra bits, even if it was just to see Lily and hear from the other Mauraders a bit more? There was a lot of things that could have been in more detail or made a bit longer in this film and this was definatley one of them.

I couldn't agree more with all of you guys. Generally speaking, I was disappointed with the movie in whole, but there were 2 or 3 scenes, that, to my mind, where worth more than 30 seconds...One of these was Snape's
worst memory .
It was so rushed about that if you didn't read the book, you would have a very hard time understanding what happened there. It really deserved at least 5 more minutes.
I know that the movie was quite long, and that the book in the longest in the series, but I think that they should've spent a little more time considering which parts where going to have more effect...
What I mean is, in the book and in that chapter in special, we are able to see a dash of humanity in Severus Snape...I think it -the scene- was carelessly treated.
I hope they make it up in the final movie

Yes, I agree. The scene of Snape's memories flashed through the screen so fast, that I only saw young James. Harry went through it the wrong way, too. In the book, he used the Pensieve. I really looked forward to seeing all the adults as their young selves, and I thought Snape was a girl when I saw him in the memory (for a split second)

yeah i was realy hoping that they would've made the seen longer than what it was. I was expecting at least 3 minutes but it was only like what 30 seconds. and it just cuts over to Harry seeing Snapes memories it doesn't even show how it lead up to from the book.

Yes,it was to fast but you would stop harry so he cant see all your momeries! Snape is'ent very open to poeple eather I was supriesed he even let him see that!

It was way too quick. It was barely a memory at all! I was very annoyed that they did that.
They should have spent longer on it. A short scene showing the marauders tormenting Snape and Lily being there would not have taken more than a minute to show. And the movie could have been longer so it's not like time was such a huge issue. They did not do it justice.
If you hadn't read the book you would not have a clue what was going on or what happened it was that quick.

I suppose given that we find out Snape was in love with Lily the scene between Snape and Lily in his worst memory would be quite important. I just hope they do Snape's memories in DH justice...

Snape's worst memory was one of the scenes that i was looking forward to see in the film but then it was a haze can't even remember their faces and there was no lily at all
maybe we need to see the movie again to be able to retain the scenes coz i only watched it once and maybe it's not enough, but then i think the movie was made to reach those who have read the book otherwise it is more difficult to understand the film

This was one of the few scenes I was highly disappointed in. I mean Snape's memory is one of my favorite parts in the whole Series because we learn more about Harry's parents. I mean it's good that they at least put it in there...but would really have been that bad to add 5 more minutes to the movie to do it right?

Snapes worst memory is my favorite chapter of the 5th book and I read that I think for 10000 times..coz I just love it and I was sooooo excited to watch this very scene...the more I was unfortunately disappointed by this very scene...I didnt get it..why did they have to do it that way...I mean it was over before it began and he didnt even use the pensive etc and tbh due to that a very important fact for Hbp is no more...the fact that Montague(dunno was it him?) was locked by fred and george in the vanishing cabinet isnt mentioned in the movies but thats really important! how else will they explain malfoys sudden idea of bringing the death eaters into hogwarts in HBP?
moreover my friend who didnt read the books was like...HUH?? whats going on I dont get that...she didnt get really important scences coz it was all to fast and I had to explain her..also this very scene she was like" what was this now?" I mean i can understand her it is deffo difficult for sb who has no clue to figure out that this is supposed to be james( he didnt look in the slightest like harry!!)
in my opinion the best chapter was spoiled due to the movies...
either do the movie properly or hand it over to somebody who can do it I say

I absolutely agree with Gwenog. It was disappoiting to watch that scene.

How are those people who not read the books supposed to understand whats actually going on?
Only hope left is the next movie. I hope intensely that the Halfblood Prince will turn out better!

This is the worst scene!! Peoples who doesnt read the book will not understand what it is all about (yeah..my aunt watched with me,and she look confused, and I have to explain to her what happened inside the pensive!)..She don't even know who is the guy inside the pensive.. Duh!!! its horibble!!!
And considering the fact that, I loves the chapters in Book 5, it just dissappointed me

I think that this part is really important. They shouldn't have cut it so short. It's really not how I imagined James.

That scene was greatly dissappointing. It was one of my favorite scenes and they flew it by. They actually really did film that whole scene with Lily and showig the Marauders and all. They didn't eve put it in deleted scenes on the special features! Dissappointed? Very. And plus, James wasn't even that good looking... haha. But the movie was good.

Those who saw the sneak preview saw a longer sequence! Apparently Lily is right beside James nastily laughing at Snape being humiliated. She doesn’t offer help in the least. I hated that the DVD didn’t include the real original footage David Yates made. What an awful movie! Bad directing, bad editing! I'm dreading HBP this November.
