Lupid made Harry the godfather of Teddy, so why didnt Teddy live with Harry? I don know if maybe im just missing a part or something, but someone please clear this up for me
talie
Teddy still had his grandmother so she took care of him. i think Harry would've went over there to visit when he could, being the godfather. He's not one to leave people.
Sasuke0099
Indeed I was quiet confussed myself but he lived with his grandmother. But somewhere in the ending it stated that Teddy paid visits to Harry's home for Christmas break or something else if I'm not mistaken
kid
He didnt only come to harry's place for christmas but quite often otherwise also. Harry says, he comes around for dinner almost 4 times a week so he spends more than half the week with the potters.
The reason he is not living with them is as stated earlier that he has a grandmother he lives with her. but given the way things are Harry is playing the Godfather really well as he accepts teddy at his home more than half the week for dinner and plus he also suggests that he could come and live with them.

I wish we could have heard what mischief teddy got into at school and what harry had to do with that. I mean, you know he must have gotten into trouble, look at his parents. His dad was causing trouble all the time, and his mom was dead clumsy wich equals a kid that is in detention a lot.

Really? Well, it depends which time you are talking about. At school, I was under the impression that he was not much of a rule breaker (obviously apart from the escapes each month and the few things he got caught up in with james and sirius). After school though, he worked for the order, making trouble for voldemort, but that was a good thing. What trouble are you refering to?
missginnypotter
yh teddy went to live with his grandmother after tonks and lupin died *sob* sad.gif plus harry is playing his part as god father by having teddy over for dinner 4 times a week

i suppose if his grandmother died before he was 18 then he would live with the potters mellow.gif
ginny_wannabe_7
yeah, teddy was at his grandmas when his parents died, so i would assume he would stay there, but i guess after he had been out of hogwarts for about 2 years he had visited a lot, as they say "hes around for dinner about 4 times a week, letsa just give him a room and be done with it" or somethin like that. but in the end it seemes like teddy was soon gonna be related..
taintedlove-xx
Andromeda, Tonks mother is still alive, so Teddy lived with her insted of Harry.
This makes sense because by the time that Harry would have been ready to raise a child Dromeda and Teddy would have already devolped a close relationship that neither would have wanted to leave each other.

It does say in the epilouge though that he comes round to Harry & Ginnys place at least 4 times a week for dinner though !

does it say in the DH wether teddy turns out to be a warewolf, i know lupin said that what if its like me but he wasnt 100% sure it would be i may hav missed something but i couldnt find anything... Bottom line Was teddy a warewolf?...
lancelot243
Well...in "Nineteen Years Later" he seemed perfectly normal. But of course, Remus did not show his being a warewolf off. I would hazard a guess that he isn't, i am sure other warewoles have had kids, and i doubt those kids became warewolfs. Then again, we can't be sure...
slytherin_locket
I am pretty positive that Teddy Lupin is not a werewolf. That's just me. I would rather that he wasn't. I would rather that nobody on the good side died and everyone turned out ok. But that didn't happen. Anyway, like lancelot243 said, he seemed fine in Nineteen Years Later.
Silverfox_Moonhowl
I'd have loved if he was, but that's just me and my obsession with werewolves.

However, he did seem normal. Actually, he seemed like a metamorphmagus.

Saluts.

Silver.
lancelot243
Yea, i think he was a metemorphmagus, b/c of Lupin saying his hair kept changing color.. I hope he was, metamorphmagus's are awesome
Dumbledore's Widow
It's possible that the werewolf gene is a recessive gene, skipping generations. Or, better yet, it could be a gene that is passed on from mother to son (like hemophilia is). This being the case, Teddy may be perfectly normal since Tonks was not a werewolf.

I can see Teddy being a lot like Harry and Lupin, bending a few rules here and there, but being a good kid overall. Poor Andromeda lost like all of her family in the last book! I'm sure she wanted to raise Teddy. But Harry would be sure to look after him too for Tonks and Lupin, and it would be pretty cool to say that your godfather is Harry Potter!

As many people have said before, Teddy lived with his grandmother. She would be his closest relative. Harry wanted to live with Sirius so much because, other than the Dursleys, he was the only "family" that Harry had. It wasn't like Harry had a grandmother he could live with. I really like the fact that Harry was Teddy's god father because with that, Teddy's situation has many parallels to Harry's. Harry was an orphan and Sirius was his godfather and he was James' best friend. Lupin was also one of Harry's dad's friends and he really was one of Harry's friends. At least as much of a friend as a former teacher and one of your parents' best friends can be. Also, Teddy's situation has a parallel to Neville's. Both Neville and Teddy had two parents who as good as died attempting to stand up to Voldemort and his death eaters and both of them lived with their grandmothers. I really like the parallels that creates. Anyway, that was just a Teddy related thing I thought I would throw out there.

But yes, Teddy lived with his grandmother but was at the Potters' all the time.

idk if u read the interview chat rowling had after dh was released but there she said that harry actually took his newts after all this and I bet that he was really very young himself to look after a kid...dude he did need deffo a break from all trouble he had....and by the time harry was like...old enuf andromeda and teddy had deffo a gd and close relation ship so that i bet harry woulndt want them to b apart...
quite sure that teddy was a metamorphmagus and not a werewolve wink.gif

duh I wished that his destiny would have been a lil different tho....
tonks and especially lupin have been my fave characters beside fred and she killed ALL of em...its like she hates me or sth blink.gif
hpfan1519
i always loved fred more than george, and i loved tonks and remus too. grr why did they have to die =(
anyways thanks for clearing that up for me, although i still think harry should have gotton teddy, because he WAS the godfather, and it seemed like teddy and harrys kids got a long just fine
gina hp iz ace
i think that every1 would have thought that harry was still to young to look after teddy so tonks mum looked after him and harry would visit lodes because he didnt wont teddy and himself to tirn out like what sirious and harry did
Just Another Muggle
First of all, Teddy was overage by the epilogue, so he probably had a place of his own but was raised by Harry, once Harry had gotten his whole situation with being the hero of the wizarding world, then occasionally visiting the Potter family after getting his own place, but that's just my prediction.
Second, wow! Harry's responsibilities seem to be endless, but after defeating the most evil wizard in the world, how hard could raising a child be? biggrin.gif

Ginny&Harryforever
Yeah, either he was raised by his grandmother, who he was with when remus and tonks died, or as Just Another Muggle said, Harry raised him.
Padfoot_Sirius_Black
Ok. Well Teddy still had his GrandMother. So I think he proubly lived with her. As if she had died he would end up living with Harry. But I think for now he living with his Grandmother is proubly the best choice. But Thats just me.

I need some help with Teddy and the whole "19 yrs later thing" first of all, teddy IS 19 years old and still goes to hogwarts? what have i missed?
2nd: 19 years are a really long time, I mean, Harrys eldest son ist twelve then (in his second year) so it took them 7 years to have children? whar happened?

but i like the number 19. It's magical all over. I will always conect it to Roland and his fellows ;-)
Gwenog
noone in the book says that he is going to Hogwarts but most probably kissing Victoire, the daughter of Bill and Fleur and his girlfriend, goodbye and wishing her farewell...
he has probably ...most probably finished hogwarts and is just there to see his love one last time happy.gif
I dont think that HArry raised him though as Rowling says in the Live Chat that HArry took his NEWTS after the final battle and meanwhile Teddy must have stayed with his grandmother ...and after two years with her its most unlikely that he was given to Harry then...who has no clues of raising a child
didnt Rowling even say Andromeda kept him?
Blue-haired Baby
I agree with the others who have said that Harry wouldn't want to take Teddy away from his grandma, if he had family to live with. But I'm sure Harry was a constant father-figure for him.

Also remembering back to HBP, the Weasley's invited Remus to stay over Christmas and Tonks was invited too but didn't come. It seems in Molly and Arthur's nature to have developed close relationships with Andromeda and Teddy. They likely include them in big family events and holidays, when no doubt Harry would also be present.
Chacho
Like most have said he should stay with this grandmother, she can take care of him with much care. Obviously this didnt mean that Teddy would like living there all the time. I mean imagine yourself living in one big house with just your grandmother for company, I guess this is why he went to Harry's house so often, theres more people, three kids he could play with, etc.
What I realized here was that JKR killed Andromeda's husband, daughter and son-in-law. All in one year. Poor lady, shes very strong to go through all that
Seriouslysirius
Again yes i'd imagine he would stay with his grandmother. Though of course we know that he frequently went over to the Potters. So i imagine when he was wyoung they looked after hime between them. So not all the work was put on Tonk's mother.

Good point, she must be. And to have a ababy to look after as well. The stress levels must have been very high.
K.Lupin_werewolf
yes i imagine that teddy would have stayed with his grandmother. true harry was his god-father but i always thought that god-parents take over when there was no family left. so i thought it went ; parents, other family members, god-parents, orhange... can't spell laugh.gif
and yes... tonks' mother... she must have been extremly story to have coped with all the deaths...
Felix2090
I think Harry did live with Harry. Remember, Teddy was born BEFORE the nineteen years even started, so that would make him 19 or 20 in the epilogue, thereby legal in the wizarding world. So therefore I think he did live with Harry, although he may have stayed with his grandmother, Andromeda, quite frequently.
Lord Skinner
I think teddy lived with his grandmother. Since harry was his godfather i think he probably stopped by alot to visit him and help out his grandmother by watching him occasionaly and told him about his father. Im sure harry would have talked to teddy bout his parents alot. When teddy was older he probably stopped by harry's alot, who was probably happy to see him. I dont think teddy lived with harry since during the epilouge james wanted to ask teddy to move in with them.
