Veritaserum or Mugglenet, i don't know which one, said that the rumors that are going around about the harry potter and the order of the phoenix dvd are false because they checked with Warner Brothers about it...so they're probably not true...it would be kinda cool if they were though, wouldn't it?

I do wonder very much which ones will be on the DVD and which ones aren't real.
On a related note- am I the only one hoping for bloopers? None of the movies (that I know of) have given us the option of seeing them...and I LOVE bloopers!

I think everyone loves bloopers. It'd be great if we got some.
If everything Supernatural said were true, then that'd be an awesome DVD. It'd be a wonder to me of how they made it all fit. Let's hope some of the things are in there.

They haven't put bloopers on any of the other DVD's but if you watch those abc specials you can tell that they have an extended battle with Bellatrix and Sirius, that I really want to see, i don't think they did Sirius justice. He's a good wizard remember, he doesn't just spin around and die!!!

I take it your dvd has arrived from Play.com then Etphonehome? Mine hasn't yet, and I'm not happy as this the first time Play.com hasn't managed to get a dvd to me before the official release date. I'm desperately hoping it will arrive today - otherwise I'll have to do the ironing whilst watching GoF or something else I've watched a billion times already...

I hope that by the time you read this Mag, you will be ironing to OOTP

I have been disappointed before by Play but funnily enough never with an HP movie!
Yes, I did get my copy early, I got it on Saturday morning.

It arrived at 1230 today. I couldn't do my ironing to it, I had to pay it full attention!!!! *sigh* There's always tomorrow for ironing!
The special features are a bit limp aren't they? Except I love the deleted scene with Trelawney at the feast in the Great Hall - how the heck did she make that look so natural??? My son Greg and I were having fits of laughter. Emma Thompson is just brilliant!

I think there has been so much hype and 'rumour'

about what might be included, that unless the rumours turned out to be true, we were always going to be disappointed.
I wonder if Warner Brothers are saving it all for the end, you know when they release their super duper 14 disc special edition deluxe boxset with all the movies from 1 - 7. That's when we'll get to see the bloopers disc, the costumes disc, the interactive games dvd-rom, the extended versions directors cut disc. But only if we buy the the boxset for £200!!

Hey Guys, I realise time differences across the world means some people won't have the DVd yet but I just got it this afternoon and I was curious as to your thoughts on the special features...
Tailing Tonks in my opinion is hilarious! Nat is so funny to listen to and has a beautiful voice! It provided a great insight into the behind the scenes and I liked it more than the one with Clemence on GOF. I'm pleased that the sets look believably real, it was just great and so funny to watch.
The deleted scenes weren't much, except I had tears in my eyes at Trelawney eating, surely that wasn't seriously considered for the film but more of a fun take but it was hilarious! It was the standard scenario of months ago I saw footage of the movie that neither appeared in the film or on the deleted scene's so where did it go? However two of those scenes I really liked, the one with Harry briefly in DD's office and the one where Ron tries to get Harry to come to the feast just after returning from the Ministry, the others in my opinion were nothing special, better dleted than in the film I say.
The editing piece is interesting and great to edit your own scene with the music and sounds, I produced a pretty funny one!
I haven't had the time to watch the 43minute long one yet but I can't wait. All in all it looks great, I love DVD features, oh but where's the trailer? I love watching trailers! POA is great because it has all three movie trailerso n it I wish they'd do that again.
So please share your thoughts...

I didn't like the special features all that much, except for the scene with Trelawney - that's hilarious. I thought they wasted a lot of time on that dvd with talking to people about what's behind Harry and all that happens in his world. If you want to know about that - talk to the author, not people who have made their own suppositions!
I thought the deleted scenes were ok, but I wondered why they cut about a minute off the end scene with Harry packing his trunk and with Ron coming in to ask him if he's going to the end of term feast. That made much more sense in the deleted segment than it makes in the film.
Otherwise, not too impressed with the special features DVD, not worth the money I obviously paid for it...

I have merged these thread s together as they were very similar, and also tweaked the title a bit.
In my opinion the best deleted scene was Trelawney eating her pumpkin pie, completely hilarious.

Hey etphonehome thanks for the merge wasn't sure if I should continue it here or not...
I have watched the Trelawney bit three times now and I showed my mum who thought it was hilarious, she's just so funny!
I also watched Trailing Tonks again, I wonder if she can ever be serious she really reminds me of...me it's great! As a slight side note to the clips Nat Tena showed us does anyone know if like on LOTR Elisha Wood got to kepp the map do you think anyone will get to keep the Marauders map you see because it looks amazing?

Yay! I just got my DVD!
Just like everyone else: I couldn't keep my eyes off of Trelawney! She's just wonderful! I loved her! That's one performance I won't forget, ever! How she dropped the spoon on the glass, and the plate on her... She's a natural! I loved it!
Also, Trailing Tonks is a beautiful feature! She's so nice! And her song! That was funny!
The editing part... I didn't like it that much, and I haven't watched the 43 minutes bit... Nasty homework, I shouldn't even be here! Hahaha! But I can't help it! I got my DVD today and I wanted to share my happiness with all of you guys!
So I guess Tonks and Trelawney will remain our all time favorite characters of the special features!

hmm there seems to be a mixed opinion but personally im not that impressed with the special features on the dvd, i think the previous ones were a lot better
i loved the trewalny deleted scene that was just hilarious and the tour with tonks - she has a really nice voice!

i liked all the studio bits and getting to see the different depertments and the editing bit was quite cool as well.
im not too sure about the 45min long documentary thing, it seems a bit unecessary to be honest and in my opinion far too long!
i havnt checked out the dvd-rom enhanced feature yet, i completely forgot about that bit?! thanks
etphonehome for reminding me, might just go do that now and then reply back with my thoughts

Wow ok so I just got Pirates today and have a quick flick through the special features which are always amazing, which makes me think that the OOTP ones are definately lacking, don't get me wrong I do like the things that are there, but it's a little unreasonable considering in some shops they charge more for the "2 disc special edition" when you don't get much. Having thought about it more I'd like more behind the scene's stuff, a bloopers reel, I mean come on you can't go wrong with that? I just think there could be more, look at the first movie it has heaps of features...
Oh yeah and I tried to do the DVd rom thing but it requires a fancy programme and I couldn't find it for free so I haven't seen that bit officially yet, only on youtube which is a bit sad, but I love the cover of it!

I saw it today with my friend. I was intensely annoyed to discover that they filmed a 'Lupin consoling Harry after losing Sirius' scene and they cut it. They didn't even put it in the deleted scenes, it's just mentioned in Trailing Tonks. And why wasn't Snape's worst memory included? They filmed it, they had cast Lily for crying out loud!
But apart from that, I thought it was quite good. Not brilliant, but good. Trelawny was hilarious!
I have a question about the DVD Rom: what's the enhanced feature?
Drinotonks
Nov 25 2007, 11:01 AM
Baz the dvd rom you have to go onto the ootp website and click on a link, then install a program and you'll get the extra bit, it's an interview and some on set stuff for HBP, I couldn't find the software to download for free but if you scroll back through VTM news they had a link up of the vieo that you see on youtube

I was actually dissapointed with the DVD special features. Well the scene with Trelwaney was good i'll admit. But i was really looking forward to the interviews they do. They didn't have any! You know the prober sit down ones. Well i was dissapointed in that. Trailing Tonks wasn't to bad though. I like seeing behind the scenes. Though i think OOTP's special features really wasn't up to the standards i was expecting.
Oh yeah... The DVD-rom features... *Hit's head* of course. I will look now... Oh wait you have to do somehting first? I'm congused because so far i cna't find any new features on a computer. Sorry could someone please explain it to me? Sorry again. But i wonder why it isn't as simpler as the other DVD'S. Or is it because i have to confess i've never done it on a computer before. Well seen the extra bits there.

I suppose the extras on the DVD were alright. I mean the deleted seens were good, you always want to see them. And trailing Tonks was good too. But on previous DVDs there has been a lot more! There's usually stuff about how they filmed it, edited it, animated it and practically just made the movies. There's usually interviews with the trio and I always like to see them. And there's usually other interviews with other people as well. I just think there wasn't alot to it this time and it was quite poor. Hope to see better extra's next time!

Yeah, I mean, that's simply a lot in GoF. Like watching how the crews make up. Trailing Tonks is a little bit boring, if you ask me. The editing part.... well, that's not very interesting. And those hidden secrets... it's no fun because we've got the seventh book already! So.. I will say 40/100 for the Special Features.

I recently bought the 5th movie along with the interactive DVD and I have to say that I was not disappointed. I didn't originally know what would come with my purchase, but I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed playing the interactive DVD game and I'm glad I got to try it out on the official website beforehand. I also ran into
this when I was looking through their site and I have to say that it was very enjoyable watching it. I love behind the scenes stuff because I find that stuff very interesting. Getting to look at how they designed certain things, made certain characters, why they did what they did, etc. I simply can't stop watching the movie, because it's just that good.

I was really dissappointed with the special features. I pay extra for a DVD with the special feautures, and to be honest I thought it was a load of rubbish.
The deleted scenes were all but one rubbish and slightly pointless. I like the one with Trelawny was eating, but other then that I just thought it was a waste of my time.
Trailing Tonks was a bit of a laugh, but I wouldn't watch it again.
The Magic of Harry Potter bit was boring, and pointless as the seventh book was already out.
And the editing bit was interesting, but not great.
There were no interviews with the cast about the films, I mean seriously usually there about twelve extra feautres, and in this one there's only four, which aren't even that good.
As an avid fan I felt I was really let down, and I don't blame David YAtes because he doesn't decide on what the extras are, but whoever does was seriously idiotic, as what they put on the disk was both a waste of my money and a waste of my time.

I agree the whole Hint and Editing thing was quite boring. I'd rather of watched the movie over and over again (which I have now done

) then to listen to two very boring men saying 'sound is amazing' 'sound is incredible' and blahblahblahblahblah. I agree with them, but that was SO boring! But I have to say I enjoyed seeing Draco on the tapestry, with a very funny looking hat on his head.

And Trailing Tonks, I was laughing my head off the whole time, I loved it. Natalia Tena is my new best friend.

What was the other one... Ooh, the deleted scenes. Right. Well, that was cool, but most were long and boring. No duh they deleted them.

(Although I enjoyed the very long Draco screentime- when Pansy wasn't next to him.)
So in conclusion, I loved the movie (and the music... I'm in love) and I was satisfied with the special features. I mean- I could of gotten the one without the features and I wouldn't have died, so whatever? I'm happy with what I got.

Well, I wasn't fussing about the editing thing, I was just giving my opinion?

I just found it boring, and long, and I guess it varies. But all to say that my favorite one was Trailing Tonks; it might of been the contrasting between that and the other long ones that got me bored...?
