Pretending to be unaware of the approaching DW, I'd turn around a corner, Disapparate and re-apparate from a different angle then I would get as close as I could while remaining out of sight and cast the Protego spell between the boy and the DW. Hopefully, catching the DW off guard long enough to try to Stupify both of them before they can react to my presence.
