well if people read the homepage of veritaserum, they would see an article about how david thewlis would not play remus lupin in the 6th movie because he has to film some other kind of movie but will be coming back for the 7th..
so will the put another person as lupin in the 6th movie or will they just leave the lupin character out of the movie? his role isnt very important in this movie/book, but he did help out in the battle at hogwarts..not very important because he was hardly seen in the book if i remember well..so what do you guys think? will he be in the 6th movie or not?
Delever
Well, he said he is coming back for 7th, so I think you are right - they won't switch actors just to show new face which no one would recognize.
smartman299
he's coming back for the sixth film!!! look here....I don't know where you got the info he's not doing it....veritaserum said that he's doing two others...but is still doing HBP

Don't do that to me! David Thewlis being Lupin is the reason I'm watching HP movies! (Well, if he suddenly wasn't, I'd still watch 'em, but I would with narrowed eyes and sour expression).

I haven't been scared so much on VTM since the S.P.E.L.L Forum played an April Fool's joke and I thought Thewlis was leaving then, too.

i didnt mean to upset you baz!! calm down..hehee tongue.gif ..btw..yeah i read it on the veritaserum homepage...but can someone confirm if it's true?? i guess it it though
Seriouslysirius
But he is doing it isn't it's what VTM homepage pointed out. I was scared seeing that. I mean i'm not a Lupin fan atic like. But i hate when they change people so it's quite lucky he's not changeing i know there was a scare he wouldn't be doing it. But he is by the looks of things so i'll relax.
I think changeing people just wrecks the stories. I mean that thing about Emma her going would wreck it i think. As she's a major character i know Lupin is'nt and it wouldn't exactly mess all the movies up but it would still be bad. But lucky know ones quiting as far as we know.
I think David Thewlis does Lupin justice. So as i've said i'm glad they're not changeing him.

Lupin will be in the sixth film, the actor who plays him as already said he has signed on to play the character. I dont remember lupin having a massive role in the book, just a bit at the end, so it shouldnt take long for him to film his scenes.

Not a massive role? I'm not seeing this movie because of his contribution to the plot... wink.gif

Seriously, harrypotter_lover, I needed heart medication! laugh.gif

Yeah as everyone else says, I saw on wikipedia that he's coming back according to a magazine interview. Even if he didn't they can't just put in another guy, it would be confusing to see another persons face as lupin.

I likewise read that he's coming back, or reprising his role, as Lupin...when I read the first post I was thinking something was wrong. Thanks to those of you who found the right information (or hopefully the right information). unsure.gif
mayfair
Thewlis brings a new life to Lupins character in the movies. It's a shame that he di not get a bigger billing in the fifth movie, they should definitely have included him in the scene when the order members collect Harry from his aunt and uncle's home. I have mentioned this in one of my posts before that a lot of fanfictions that came out subsequent to Prisoner of Azkaban movie did seem to have been inspired by Thewlis in the manner in which they portrayed Lupin in those stories. So he's had a big impact on how fans perceive Lupin. I can say for myself that in the subsequent books, Six and Seven I could imagine Thewlis speaking when it was Lupins dialogue. Thus, his return to the series would be good for Lupin fans (like me) and Thewlis fans (like me again). He may not have a very important role in the sixth book, but his role expands greatly in the final book and so far he has owned every scene he has been in

laugh.gif Oh my God, I love you! best thing that I've heard all day!

If they got rid of Thewlis then...thry might get the fans' original choice to play him: Jude Law. That would be bad. So very bad!

I agree that his role isn't very...big...in HBP, but those small parts are what makes all the important parts good in DH. Hopefully they put all (or at least, most) of this into Lupin's movie character.

Sorry for the miscellaneous post, it's been a long day!

I had the EXACT same reaction! blink.gif I was FREAKING out! He's not the reason I watch the movies, but I am QUITE happy with how he portrays him.

Haha, I don't remember that! happy.gif Probably blacked it out! laugh.gif

YES! SAME HERE! FANTASTIC post, mayfair!

Jude Law? He actually tried out for the part? Lord, PLEASE no! ohmy.gif That would NOT work!

Yeah...his role really wasn't. But I did LOVE all his parts...and the last...*happy sigh* They really do help with DH! I doubt that they'll put every part of his...he'll probably just be in the backround like ovie 5. *sad sigh*

Same here! laugh.gif
