After the scene in the Ministry of Magic, the group (the guys and girls that came to help Harry) made themselves better friends than before...

Neville may not be very intelligent, but he's still noble and a good person too. Also, he's a great dancer...

Luna is very honest, and very keen. She has her own world of wonders, and, you must never forget, it's a magic world! Even tough Hermione says the Plimpies don't exist, I'd rather prefer to think is inusual, more than imposible. That's what JKR has taught us in her books: nothing is imposible. Not in a magic world where the love can be a great power...

They would be a nice couple...

They're very similar and different, at their own way. That's what makes them the perfect couple...

They're singular, different in preferences, but similar in their characteristics; I really don't see why, even when JKR says not, can be possible?...

OMG! I totally believe that Luna and Neville belong together. They are both so strange. Luna's wacky carefree ways totally balance out Neville's shy selfconcious attitude.

Besides there are hints to like every couple (heRmiONe + Ron) (1consonant 1vowel 2consonant 1y Harry +Ginny) (LuNa + Neville) Ok so that probably didn't make sense but Luna's name minus the vowels equals LN (Luna Neville)

I am mad that JKR said that they won't be together in the 7th book though.

i love the Luna/Neville ship! they are good for each other, Luna is odd, Neville is shy and timid...they are like the...oh wait i cant describe it...different characters. i wanted them to get together since the 5th book...but if JKR says it wont happen...ah well.

Neville/Luna do seem like they would be a good couple together. Both are seen by other people as weird or the outcasts. Luna is so forward about things without being stuck up or rude about it, and Neville is quiet, but is brave when he has to be. Both are minor characters, and friends of Harry and the Trio. I do think that the Neville/Luna is a great couple.

I must say, I saw great potential for this ship until J.K shot it down on her website. But I just want you to know that my support was there. They would have been so cute together.

Yeah, they seem to have a lot in common, e.g. they were the only ones that checked their DA coins regularly in case there was another meeting. Neither of them really have any close friends either.
But I don't really think it would last that long because, apart from them both being quite unpopular, they don't especially share any interests (not sure).

Even though JK said it wouldn't happen, fanon is an awsome thing, but I think that Luna and Neville are at least very good friends now, or so they seemed at the funeral.

i think that they are perfect for each other and it seems like it could happen...i mean some other ship seem like a good idea but are a long shot but this one is plausable. i hope it will happen in the next book!!! nevile is wonderful and so is luna but they are both a little umm off beat and they are both there to help harry when he needs them so thats why they are perfect for each other:D:D:D

Well I think that it's high time Neville found someone, cause other wise he's going to be "Another One Bites the Dust," and he's gonna be the one bitting the dust, or "Another One Rides the Bus," and he'll be one of the crazy people, riding the bus. Yeah, I have no life. So, since most people are giving all these short posts, I am not, which makes me happy, cause I am an ego maniac, and who's not? Exactly. I mean, Neville does have that clumsy side of him that goes perfectly with his dancing side, and Luna's all dreamy, and I dunno, there's just something about that pairing that is not only pretty cute, but it makes so much sense. I really like this ship. Neville and Luna are some of my favorite more minor characters and they're both weird. I'm disappointed J.K. said it wouldn't happen. But you never know. Sometimes characters get out of control and take on a life of their own and do stuff the author never planned.
Anyway I guess we'll see. And if they don't end up together I'll bet a million fan fictions of them will show up.

Honestly, i love these two together, they are adorable! Even though JKR said they wern't going to go out, i still think they are perfect for each other and ever so cute.

But i think that Neville deserves that special someone in his life, after all the stuff he's been through, and he deserves a fairy-tail ending. While Luna's just sitting their humming Weasley is our King and reading the Quibbler up-side-down, Neville can-er-"Make his move' and bring he back down to earth!

Who knows-maybe JKR will change her mind and add it for comic relief? Hope so!

I think that Neville and Luna should get together. But then again, if that doesn't work out then maybe Harry and Luna. Only because they share so many things in common, for instance the veil in the OOTP, when they both hear the voices coming from it and the thestrals.

I mean they are both kinda outsiders so it would be good if they dated because they would have somebody that understands what they're going through or whatever. Plus, they are the only to order members who have consistently come through for Harry. They're definitley good together.

I thought of this pairing after OotP. Like, how Luna was such an outsider and no body liked her, i felt so sorry for her. Then there's Neville-who's an outsider too, who was never good at magic and was laughed at for it. I can just see Luna asking people to isgn up with a "Sve-the-crumpled-horned-snorkacks" club, while Neville tries to charm an eggcup to tapdance.

Then onto HBP. They were together in finding a compartment on the train, before they found Harry. They alone missed the DA. They were the only ones to answer to Hermione's call from the coins. I believe these two characters are very special. They've been incuded for a reason. I believe it's a shame that they can't go out.

Ok, JK said it's not gonna happen, but that just means we can't read about it. It just means that she doesn't have enough space in the books to write about it. But what about after book 7? What happens then? The could get together, but we just don't get to read about it. Does that make any sense? But you could say that about any couple--Ron and Hermione could always get divorced and Hermione gets together with Harry (or Ron dies and Harry and Hermione get together was they comfort each other). Ginny could always get together with Neville if she realizes it's not working out wiht Harry, Ron could fall in love with Luna, etc. I think when JK said it's not going to happen, she meant it in a very final way--like it's not going to happen period, not "it's not going to happen in year 7". That's just my impression...

That makes sense, she says that they wouldn't be "true love," but you can date somebody and not end up married to them. And then we could still see the couple!!! I really like that theory!

Oh, they would be so adorable together! Neville is so insecure and timid, and Luna is so blunt and confident... They would fit like a jigsaw puzzle. Luna has a lot to offer, and Neville would deserve it.

Neville's quite the opposite. He was at first shown as the quiet one and un-confident. He's the one who perfers to sit back and listen, rather than talk in a conversation.

But together, i think Luna would really boost neville's confidence, and Neville could really talk to Luna, and get to know the real her. Everyone's so blinded by her weirdness, they donn't see the Luna that's deep down. neville could show this.

Over all, they are perfect. Plus they would be the most adorable-est couple to ever happen. Well-there was a couple that happen in my class last year and they were pretty damn cute too, but this is way cuter.

Too bad JKR doesn't see things that way, and wants both to be alone and without love. Poor Neville....little does he know! Seriously though, unless it was because she was planning H/L and N/G, I don't see why she should have shot down such a harmless ship...and then have shippy moments in HBP--it's just ridiculous...
