I couldn't tell you why, but I absolutely love the idea of Luna and Neville...imagine it, he's so nervous all the time and she's really out there, it could be a total chance for Neville to stand up for someone ('cause people make fun of Luna) and gain a little courage. Not that he needs it I love Neville lol. I just don't see it happening though...as a matter of fact I'm not even sure JKR will have all of her characters end up happily ever after with someone else, and will most likely only pair Harry and possibly Ron and Hermione (together, I hope). Still fun to imagine!

I know i'm digging up a year old thread, but i love the Nevvile/Luna pairing. After all the fanfics i've read, i really want it to happen But JK has said it's a no-go in book 6, but maybe it might happen in book 7 (I hope!)

Yeah, I thought this was going to happen too JD, but JK's comments made me reevaluate. It didn't sound like she was just talking about book 6 though, that seemed like a "never happen" thing to me.

I doubt this will happen either at least in the books 6 and 7 because its importance to the plot is not significant but I think that Neville and Luna would be great for each other...they are both out there in space most of the time but they are both very caring people even if they are a little strange at times..ever since I met Luna I thought her and Neville would be great for each other..although if they are both out there all the time I am not sure how organized things in the household would be

Luna is probably as honest as you can get and not to mention has a way of cheering others up even on a topic like death...Luna stands high to her beliefs...

Neville is sort of modest and has rotten luck, but makes due and is truly loyal to his friends...Neville has a hard time with standing up for himself...

They're personalities tie nicely to each other....

Though they both can relate in someways....

Neville was brought by only his grandmother, Luna was brought up by her father. Both can see Thestrals and both have a hard time making friends...

What a sweet couple this would make...even if it doesn't end up happening....as to it seems like this couple has been squashed, YET I still believe that they would make a cute pairing...

Yeah, I think they'd go well together. Plus neither of them, or as far as we are told, haven't had anyone. Poor Neville. Though it won't be significant to the plot of book 7, I still think Rowling will mention it. It's a long shot being that there is such chaos but, even still, most writers slip in things like that, you know, just to lighten the mood up. And Neville's sort of the underdog, being that he was the other possible chosen one, so this might incline JK to add that. Neville's always been there. He's not even a secondary character anymore (especially since OotP) and might become even more significant as it is possible that he will be joining Harry in the quest to kick Lord Voldemort butt, as I am sure Luna will. Neville's definately going to play a big part and I think that Luna and him will have to face it together which will inevitably bring them closer.

I am also a partial shipper to this couple too, as well as many others, but this one just struck me as adorable. I just think they'd make a good pair. The fanfics hit me, then I was totally agreeing with them. Its so adorable, and they're totally compatible in many ways. I really adore both characters, and they need someone to love them. *hugs*

The end of HBP was what convinced me of Neville/Luna, really. Although I think Luna might freak Neville out a little bit, maybe he can bring her 'back down to earth,' if you know what I mean. And maybe Luna can give Neville some confidence. I think it's a sweet ship, and I really hope it happens.

i'm not as involved with this ship, but i think it is possible. both neville and luna are social outcasts (unpopular) also, neville was dreading going into the compartment luna was in in the 5th book, which is a sign of a crush, as i know. i dread getting in line behind or in front of my crush, and i end up letting people in front of me. i think neville feels the way i do. now hes more comfortable around luna, and can talk to her more easiy. since i sit next to my crush in class, i feel more comfortable around him, and i'm able to talk to him now (all you girls who have a crush know just how it feels when you sucsessfully have a conversation with him) i really think this ship is possible, and if it doesnt happen, no biggie. i can deal with it.

yes..its quite possible for it to happen and ofcourse after reading harry potter and the HBP i thought its obviously going to happen in the 7th book! i really hope it does because they are a nice couple together and very perfect together as each has their odd characteristics and i think they'd be perfect together...im glad many members agree on this ship!
so overall the neville/luna ship would be perfect if it happens!

Yep, I love the Neville/Luna ship! Luna and Neville are always paired off together (by me) because they are both important supporting characters. They are both pretty much social outcasts, which makes them pretty similar to one another. I think they would really work together.

Before book six came out I was a Harry/ Luna fan. I have only one good reason as to why I thought they belonged together: Harry and her share the same emotional feelings and Luna understood. I thought that they would make a perfect couple. Luna would be there to help Harry through his hard times with her sense of unawairness and Harry could help Luna come to earth.

Now that Book six has come out I think it's a good thing that Harry and Luna aren't together, but rather Neville and Luna are closer then ever. They spent the summer together... suggesting that they are a couple and they match eachother. Luna makes up for Neville's shyness and Neville makes up for Luna's inability to grip reality.

Whoever thought of this ship is really smart! I've never thought of these two, and it's just so perfect! They are a great team and actually really brave, the only two loyal members of the DA.

Yea they have always been loyal but in the end of HBP they were together o it kind of gave me a feeling that they would be together in book7. I had an idea that Neville would die trying to help harry or he could die like his parents, trying to defeat Voldemort. But the point is that Neville and Luna have the same kind of backround. They are both always drifting into another world but loyal to their friends and brave.
They just seem perfect.

Yea and I have been thinking that hermione and Ron will die too so Harry is alone on the journey. After all, that’s the point that all the others died. Everyone died trying to help him so hermione and Ron might too. I just hope hey wont. But i am sure that Neville and Luna will get together because they seem so perfect and day dreamy!
Lets just hope that no one from the good side dies anymore and only from the dark side! But I doubt it…I am hoping my head off (*does that make sense*) that no one dies because Harry still hasn’t got over Dumbledore’s death.

OK...from the 5th and 6th books I really like this ship. I think they would be adorable together! IDK...theres sumthing about them that makes me think they'd be cute together. They kind of act aquard around eachother so maby its a sign!!

They are so perfect and cute. In the sixth book they were very comfrotable alone in the Hogwarts express train compartment until Harry came crashing their party...

I also like the fact that they are social outcasts, they don't fit anywhere, it makes them perfect for each other while they are complete opposites.

It was really obvious in HBP that they do like each other so it wont be of a shock..they suit each other and they're both kinda loners..so its cool!!
