I think that Draco married Pansy Parkinson, because she the only female slytherin that got involved whit him ( she was his date for the Yule Ball ). What do you think?
Dumbledore's Widow
Sep 3 2007, 09:06 PM
I voted MAYBE because
maybe Draco married Pansy, the girl many of us just assume was his Hogwarts sweetheart. But then, like with Luna, who married a character we have never heard of, Draco could have married someone that was never even mentioned in the HP books.
I guess we will have to wait for this encyclopedia that Rowling is suppose to write. This encyclopedia is suppose to give information like who did so and so marry? What is so and so's occupation? What became of McGonagall? Flitwick? Hagrid? Madam Maxim? etc. etc. etc. This book would be like a
Where Are They Now? book of the HP series characters.
Hopefully, we will find out who Draco married and whether or not there are other children. Also, I would like to know why Draco has a receding hairline? After all, Lucius Malfoy did not. I guess it's just another
slur on the Malfoy name! I think that Rowling is just being mean. To her the only
beautiful people are the Weasley-Potters!

I also voted maybe. There certainly were hints at their relationship throughout the books, but that doesn't neccessarily mean they ended up together. I too think that we'll just have to wait for the encyclopedia until we can find out for sure!

I don't think that Draco married Parkinson. If Draco had married Pansy Parkinson than JK would have said in the epilogue that it was Pansy, she would have named her rather then saying it was just a women. Plus, to me, i don't think that their relationship went very far after the 6th book, but thats just my opinion. But, like you guys said, were probably just going to have to figure it out when the encyclopedia comes out!!

I voted No, Cause I'm almost sure that Pansy and Draco broke up or didn't even talk to each other after the war. It's not that I hate Pansy but Draco's just to good for her

. he must have found an other better girl and he has to have more kids then his parents had.

I say maybe. Sure it could have been Pansy, but Pansy always struck me as someone Draco just let's them fawn over him. I don't think he ever really
liked her much, but kept her round so he could say "Yeah-they all love me!"
Plus, there's plenty of people out there, so who knows? He could have married a girl called Phillipa Tumbledown ... who owns flourish and blotts and has a pet goldfish named gary ... i'll shut up now.

I said no. Throughout all the books, it seemed that Pansy liked Draco. But only b/c he was always the most popular Slytherin boy in his year. He also had a very influential family, so i think those were the main reasons that she liked him. But, mostly, i don't think Draco ever really liked Pansy. I think he just liked the fact that she was another person groveling at his feet. He would have found someone that he actually likes, or just someone with a more influentual family.

Well, if you want to look at the biological side of it... Baldness comes from your mother's father, not from your parents. So his grandpa may have been bald. However, she probably did add that in to get a shot at the Malfoy's.

I think Draco ends up with her because given the fact that he had all this death eater history in his life and in his family, he had to marry someone who was a supporter of his story since the very beginning. Pansy is a good candidate for him to share his life with and having a son. Was she a pureblood? Because if she was, that would have made it even a better idea for him to marry her.

You would think that if he married Pansy, Jk would of said "there's Draco and Pansy" not "there's Draco and his wife"... so I'm inclined to say that he met someone else. I find it infuriating not knowing thought!

I agree with Weazel. I definately think JK would have specifically said if Draco's wife was Pansy seeing as none of the trio are ever likely to forget her and she's a big enough character to be instantly recognisable to the reader.

This is an interesting observation ... to say that Malfoy "jut put up with Pansy because
she was in love with him ..." Funny, but I feel somewhat the same about Harry ending up with Ginny. After all, Ginny
was a fan girl,
the one in love with him. He didn't notice her until later. (And, please, no one should
flame me for thinking outside the box!)
It could very well be that Pansy loved Draco, in the same manner that Ginny loved Harry. It could very well be that Draco married Pansy, just like Harry married Ginny, only Rowling didn't think to mention it in the epilogue. After all, the epilogue was mainly Weasley-Potter oriented after all.

I don't think Draco would have married Pansy -- I have a funny feeling that after the Battle of Hogwarts, Draco would have outgrown her. I like to think he would have matured past the point of needing someone who would just adore him, and would have married somoene who loved him and didn't just put him on a pedestal.

Trust me when I say I don't care all that much who Draco married, I never thought of Malfoy as being more than mildly imporant till HBP, before than I just saw your stock school yard bully.
Anyway, I think that he married Pansy. Because she's a pure blood, I'm sure she is because Draco would of never hung around with her in the first place other wise. Draco has never shown much out ward interest toward the oppest sex, being much more interesting in "proving himself" and power. He seems the type who would get married and have a kid because it's expected of him, and not because he would pratically love who ever he married, and not because he would want to raise a child.
Pansy is the only girl who he's had a romantic connection with. Out of convince, I think he would just marry her because she's around.

Of course it was pansy parkinson i wouldnt expect any other girl to fall in love with him and get married with him, pansy was stroking dracos hair in half blood prince & he allowed it so im pretty sure it was pansy he married.
although there are other suspicions.. i have no idea, but the people in this forum are saying that it could be someone else-- yes it could be, but it couldn't be too because jk rowling never mentioned who draco married in the book.
but who else would name their son "scorpius"?

I do not think he would go back to that. Pansy seems like one who would never change her mind about Pureblood ideals. I think Draco learned from his Death Eater days, and married someone else, not mentioned in the HP series...hopefully.

Dec 22 2007, 04:48 PM
really? Ok, then.
I never thought it would be pansy. She is not Draco's typer really: she adores him but he's sort of outgrown her. Besides, it would have been so easy to mention her if that's who it was.
I think Draco is much to complex a character to simply marry her. I'm interested to see that interview with JK Rowling because I did what I thought was a pretty good search to come up with what she's said about the epilogue, and I never saw that!

Meh...whatever, I said before I didn't care at all who Draco married, and I still don't. I thought Draco would have been way more imporant in DH then he was, it's a shame for me, really. And I care even less now about his marriage now that we know it's someone we never met before, and is a relation to some random character mentioned in OotP.

I don't know if it's been mentionned yet, but his wife's name is Asteria Greengrass. Okay, it has been mentionned.

Asteria Greengrass. Right. Okay then. Well, there's something you all ought to know... Vin, the girl in my fanfic, split up with Draco, and then he split up with Asteria Greengrass, and then he married me.

It was supposed to be a secret, but I couldn't stand it.

Haha, enough of my nonesense. Well, like I said in DODDD (which you should join if you love Draco, link/pic in siggy

) I think that her name sounds quite nice, like a- a nice person, sort of, and I hope she changed him or he became more mature (well, obviously he did, judging my his behavior at King's Cross), but I just hope she's as good as she sounds...

Pansy was more or less just a part of the "Slytherin Chorus" like Crabbe and Goyle. Draco was just using her support. The real question would be how did Malfoy family "epiphany" during the Hogwarts battle affect Draco's thinking in later life? He might very well have turned away from his sychophants.
Amyrat151

Maybe just, I never thought of that. It's possible that Malfoy's redeeming quailties we saw in HBP came to their full light when he married. To bad we didn't see much of those quailties in DH.

Ah yes, yet another Rolf!

Because of course only the super-special Weasleys get to marry real characters--the others are stuck with random people Jk draws out of thin air on the spot! Tell me again why at the very least she couldn't have paired him off with Daphne Greenglass, who was at least mentioned (though far from "met" as JK ridiculously claimed) in the books, instead of randomly making up a little sister for her?!
So yeah, I think all these Rolfings are ridiculous, and this is just another (I think Percy's rolfing was the straw that broke the camel's back though, rather than this one).....it's pretty stupid IMO, and I think Astoria is a better name than Asteria anyway if we do have to have her!
Imagination is a GOOD thing JK--stop trying to crush it with an iron heel with all this overkill of extra information!

I really don't see the point in introducing a new character - we've read the books having been introduced to all these characters, including Pansy, and then JKR just tells us that some random chick called Asteria has married Draco!! What is up with that?? It's exactly the same with Rolf Scamander, but I won't go into that here!

You might be knowing that Draco married Astoria Greengrass. I, however, do not agree with him. Would you have liked Pansy Malfoy better?

Yes, Draco did marry Astoria Greengrass. Jo Rowling mentioned it on an interview with Pottercast. Thank god! I did not like Pansy...there was just something about her...I mean, I don't love Draco but Pansy? Er...yeah lol.

I always wondered who Draco married. Since it was never stated that it was Pansy, I just assumed she must've died at some point in the war at Hogwarts. I know, it's just a theory, but there was never any real closure on that subject. As for Draco, I think he just let her give him attention. I think he secretly had a crush on Moaning Myrtle because she says in the book that he told her his problems, and it was never said that he and Pansy ever had any heart-to-heart conversations. Their relationship was probably just physical, not emotional.

It's definately Astoria Greengrass. Pansy was at school with him and hung around a lot with him, but since we don't know much about what Draco turned out like after the whole ordeal was over and since we don't know Astoria's blood status, Draco could have changed although judging by Ron's commentary in the epilogue he's just the same old Draco.
It's really interesting because I was reading HBP again and I noticed a character called Daphne Greengrass. I wonder if she is Draco's sister in law... I think she'd be Astoria's older sister.

Hi guys... As JKR said... Draco ends up with Asteria(Astoria) Greengrass... What do we know about her... All we know is she Is Daphne Greengrass younger sister and she is two years younger...
If we follow JKR's thinking on how she did DH and start to show changes in the Malfoy Family could it be that Astoria who is most likely a Slytherin who is a reformist to the system a sort of highly talented Slytherin Rebel? Much like a Stealthier version of Sirius Black (Minus the hair

)
I imagine her with a kind and the understanding kind heart, very resourcefull, cunning, and a strong personalty... Ambitious as well, but with the inteligence and the heart to know where to apply it.
To put it in simple terms.
The Inteligence of Hermione without being an insipid know it all thats where she uses her cunning.
The Faith, kindness and understanding of Luna and , Because she belives underneath there is a nice guy under there as well as an ear for all his troubles believe you me he's proboably towing A-LOT of it.
The Strength of Ginny to stand up for him because knowing what happened after DH he's gonna need help with his life to find out where he's going.
She is most likely the kind of person that could change someone for the better...
JKR says that Draco doesnt end up with Parkninson and loathes the concept of parkinson, I feel she gave him a wife that changed him, as we all know the Malfoy Men really love their wives and family and vice versa. So there must be something special in her that could have changed Draco for the better... Sure he doesnt like Harry and Company much but its a darn well better than when they first started...
Now Many ask what she could look like... So I was watching Order of the Pheonix and I happened upon two frames of Blond Slytherin Girls. Cheering the Weasley Twins as they left... Could this be them... Either Accidentaly or Intentionaly one Girl who looks like Harry's Age is up front and another looking smaller and younger behind him on His left.
Send me a message if you want to see my screengrabs.
I llike Dumbledore beleive in the best of people... And I think Astoria Greengrass is gonna rock Draco's world like a Hurricane!
