Full Version: Harry, Hermione, Kissing?!?!
Veritaserum Forums > Movies > General

The MTV interview with Daniel Radcliffe on December Boys says that Daniel couldn't wait to make fun of Rupert having to kiss Emma in the 7th movie, but then the interviewer was like, "Well you shouldn't make too much fun of him because you'll have to kiss her, too."
Uhhh, at what time in any of the books does Harry kiss Hermione, even a little? Am I missing something?
etphonehome
I take it this is the part of the interview to which you refer??

QUOTE
Just because it's easy now doesn't mean he's not excited — especially about certain parts, such as being able to give Rupert Grint a hard time when it's his turn at a kissing scene (see " 'Harry Potter' Casting Call Could Help Ron Weasley Find Perfect Shade Of Lavender"). "I'm going to be on set pointing at him every time. It's going to be funny," Radcliffe grinned mischievously. "And I'm looking forward to [the seventh movie] when he has to kiss Emma [Watson]!"

QUOTE
Of course, he may want to take it easy on them, since Radcliffe will have to kiss her too. "Presumably," he said. "I should get my evil twin for that scene!"

Remember when Ron was wearing the horcrux and seeing all sorts of strange things happening, including the bizarre scenario with Harry kissing Hermione...let me try to find the page so I can quote it exactly...ahh, here it is!

Is just has to be in the movie. smile.gif

So let us not be afraid but rather let's look forward to the scene and most importantly to the way it will be shot. As I am not afraid of the scene being left out but rather of it being spoilt for us by some intervening elements. As, of course, it might be one of the highly awaited scenes and it sometimes happens that such scenes are spoilt simply by the fact that the fans expect too much of them.

I think it will be hardest on emma because she has worked with both of them for years so Both of them would be a challenge because you know the scene would have to be shot more than once. wacko.gif

Gross. Harry & Hermione. Never. It might be Daniel & Emma.Who knows? Maybe the movie is going to change or is it the book?

If they do the locket thing, then Dan and Emma will have to kiss. Then she'll have to kiss Rupert. So I think that the article was half-right.
Witherwings
Oooh, now it makes sense! I see where it would be... but I didn't think they would actually include that part in the film! Well, we'll see if they do! I wouldn't be surprised if they cut it though, cause the script isn't written or anything so who knows.

End of discussion. (:

MOD EDIT: Unfortunately, this is not the end of this discussion since the topic is still very much a possibility. The topic here is whether Dan and Emma will have to kiss not if they will end up as a couple. This thread is not a SHIP thread, so please do not bring SHIP debates into it. Even in the SHIP forums, we have very stringent guidelines for posting. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion without being ridiculed for their opinions as much as you are. Yeah I think that it'll be in film. I mean I suppose it's a pretty important scene because
 1. It shows for certain Ron's feelings for Hermione
 2. It shows how Ron has felt at being the youngest of 6 boys
 3. It shows how he has always felt compared to his brothers
 4. and It shows that he is worried that Harry is going to take Hermione and that she will choose Harry over him

So yeah, Emma is going to have to kiss both Rupert and Dan in the space of one film. Lucky her! I know I wouldn't be complaing lol

It's a very important scene and I do hope they include it. It will be interesting to see how they film it though.
I think this will be hardest on Emma. I remember reading one of her interviews in which she said,'I hope she (JKR) doesn't make kissing scenes between Ron/Hermione or Harry/Hermione.' Considering what happened in the book, she's now gonna have to kiss both of them.
Personally, I think the scene where Hermione kisses Harry is more important from the story's point of view. The scene where Hermione kisses Ron is more like for their private relationship and it does not have much to do with the main theme of the story. It won't make much difference if they delete the hermione/Ron scene, but they should definitely include the Harry/Hermione one. So, I guess Dan and Emma have to kiss and the directors may make Rupert and Emma to kiss too.

Dan and Rupert should kiss to make it fair...Emma should make that a condition during filming.

...that aside, I think the kiss scene may not be such a good idea. On screen, it's pretty obvious Dan and Emma have great chemistry. Even if they film Rupert and Emma's scene just right, D/E will still look better unless they purposely film it roughshot...and I really don't want to watch a badly done H/Hr moment, even if it is only in Ron's head smile.gif

Actually, a few months ago there was a JKR interview, in which Rowling said that she'd actually told Emma about this before the book was released. She said that Emma almost fell out of her chair laughing.

So I don't think Emma minds. smile.gif
No George without Fred
I really, really like that bit and I hope they keep it in the film for a few reasons:
1. It tells us alot about how Ron feels about Hermione.
2. It makes Ron cry witch tells us some more about how he feels about Hermione and that he is really sorry about leaving (and makes me cry wub.gif )
3. It sorta tells us why Ron was being horrable all that time he had to where the horcrux.

In reality (depending on who directs/writes the script) I don't think that it will be in the film because it would look a little strang on screen in my oppnion. Ya-know- Harry and Hermione standing in a locket... It works fine in your head but on film I'm not so sure it will look very good- am I making any sence?Mabey they will make it a little bit diffrent so it look really good in the movie...(that would be the one time they changed somthing in the book-to-movie transfer that I didn't get annoyed biggrin.gif )
IloveLUPIN94
It is SUCH an awesome Hermione-Ron moment. I mean Ron is very angry and disturbed, and it shows that he really undermines himself compared to Harry. Its a very important scene, and one I don't think J.K Rowling would appreciate being cut from the film.

i dont get it.
when do they kiss agin?
im confused.
i dont remember reading that in the book.

When I read the first couple of posts here I was in disbelief. I didnt recall reading that scene or coming across any H/Hr moments in DH (mainly because of all the H/G-ness! BUT IM NOT COMPLAINING wink.gif). Then as I got deeper into the thread and read discussion on the locket and it having an impact on Ron, I suddenly remembered! I think it is a quite important part as it leads up to all the R/Hr. So I personally think that the scene should definitely be included. However, i see it having a very unlikely chance of making it into the film.

Although I think Dan and Emma would look cute, nothing will be better then Rupert and Emma's kiss. I know for one that they are defiantly not cutting it, and also read somewhere the Yates is a big R/Hr shipper. So he should make a rather big deal of it (Hopefully). I also dont see Emma really having a problem with kissing both Dan and Rupert (and if she does get to she will be official the luckiest girl alive). I understand it would be a bit awkward for all three of them, having known eachother for what must feel like forever, but they are actors! They know how to handle things like this.

Dan has kissed Katie (Cho), and now gets to kiss Bonnie (Ginny), and Rupert will have kissed Jesse (Lavender). So as Emma is the only one to have missed out, I think its only fair that she gets to kiss both of them in the one film. Or over the two films as I have heard that DH has been confirmed to be cut into two movies, as Yates has a 2hr movie policy (which i find rather pathetic, but i still do enjoy his movies).

Mod Edit: Please note this is not a shipping thread and so please do not discuss Harry/Ron/Hermione ships. It's about a small part of DH in which a Horcrux shows Ron things he doesn't want to see.. Also there is a seperate thread to discuss the 2 part movie, so please do so there. Thanks.

Hope that helps clarify when these two characters 'kiss'.

I think it means, like someone else might have said, when harry and hermione come out of the locket and ran has to stab it. I think, i might have to go look. That's the only reason i could find.

dan and emma will definanetly kiss in dh film because he said it in an inteview

at the end of the interview theres a few othere interviews to choose from and one will say dan kissing emma.

Even though I'm definitely not a H/Hr shipper, I'm glad they'll be leaving this horcrux scene in the movie. It's gonna be so sad for Ron though. I can't wait to see the look on his face when they kiss! blink.gif
acidpop
I'm wouldn't be surprised if they fit in Harry and Hermione kissing somewhere in there. It's just a movie, I doubt it even will stay that true to the book. However, to me that would just be weird to see. I never even noticed sexual tension between those to. Watching them kiss would just make question marks run through my head. Yeah, and it is good they're leaving at least that horcrux seen in the movie.
harryjpotter
They never kiss as far as I am aware. Or maybe I missed something too. But i don't think so. I think the interviewer must have misread the books if they even read them at all.
hot-for-harry
I agree with most people. It's going to be weird seeing them kiss, but I want to see it all the same.

It actually is in the books harryjpotter. It is in the seventh book, (I'm not sure if we have to use spoiler tags still so I'm going to just in case)

As I'm sure it has been established multiple times Dan and Emma will be most likely doing that evil!horcrux kiss... I'm pretty excited for it personally. I can't see it being left out of the movie because it occurs in such a pivotal moment.
