Hey guys! I hope no one has posted this because I checked but...I don't know.

Ok. Did anyone else before DH wonder why Colin was in Gryffindor? Well I did but in DH i think he really proved himself as a true Gryffindor. I thought it was so brave of him to come back to Hogwarts even though he wasn't supposed to. Then him dying...awww that was a great way for him to die if there is a great way for someone to die.

Anybody elses thoughts? biggrin.gif

Yeah, he had never really proved himself to be brave until DH. There are actually a few people who I don't understand why they were in Gryffindor, like Romilda Vane and Cormac McClaggen. I was so surprised when he died, but it's good that he died fighting

You're right. He never had proved himself brave until DH. Although, I am sure he was brave before DH, because if he wasn't then the sorting hat wouldn't have but him in Gryffindor. I don't think he should have died though. It made no sense, him dying after we had barely seen him for the past few years.

I'm sure the sorting hat knew what it was doing.. biggrin.gif It was almost the same with Neville to right? He showed his true gryffendor colors in DH. Ya know with the whole trying to carrying on with the DA. Talking back to the Carrows. And of course his slaying of Nagini..

In the Deathly Hallows it is clearly stated that all muggleborns are supposed to go report to the Ministry and that Voldemort won't allow muggleborns in Hogwarts. In the Chamber of Secrets Collin says that he is a muggleborn, so why is he at Hogwarts during the time of the Deathly Hallows? Maybe he isn't muggleborn but if he said that I didn't catch it. Anyway it says that he died during the Battle of Hogwarts so I was just wondering if his death could've been avoided if he hadn't gone to school in the first place.

Sorry if something similar to this has been posted I just was curious to know why Collin was at Hogwarts.

I remember JKR cleared that up in a post-DH interview. She said that Colin was not at Hogwarts during the school year, but he arrived at the castle at the knowledge that there was a bttle, probably via the DA coins or something. When all underage wizards were shunted out, Colin snuck back and fought in battle, resulting in him dying. Hope that's cleared it up.

I have merged our two DH Colin Creevy threads. Please continue your discussion Colin in this thread.

No George without Fred
I though the same thing the other day and I was like "awwwww". I cried when I found out he died (altho that isn't saying much because I was crying anyway because of Fred and the Princes Tale).

Colin was brave the first time we read about him. It takes soo much courage to walk up to anyone at the age of 11 and ask for an autograph in front of a table full of people,....a great hall full of people. It took tons of courage to join the DA and avoid Umbridge, Filtch, and the inquisitorial squad. Colin Creevy has always been courageous.

Ravenclaw - House
Werewolf - Animangus
Unicorn - Patronus
Willow, Unicorn Hair, 12" - Wand
Hannah of Beauxbatons
Colin creevey was one of my favourite characters in the Harry Potter series. He really did prove himself to be a true Gryffindor whilst he was at Hogwarts,

[/b]that is so true, I know that I never would have been able to ask for anyone's autograph, and I would have been very hesitant to join the DA. I just loved COlin Creevey. Hwen I found out that he was killed I cried. I'd only just got over the emotional shock for Fred & Snape, I was feeling very emotional. sad.gif

Just to clear something up said earlier, Romilda Vane and Cormac McLaggen were two characters who only had small roles in book 6. We never really came across them before or after that, so it's difficult to judge whether their place in Gryffindor was justified or not, due to the lack of knowledge on them. Anyway, as we see from Harry's sorting, they may have just asked to be put in Gryffindor and the hat would have complied - they could have wanted to be with their freinds and willed the hat to put them in Gryffindor. Harry managed to avoid being put in Slytherin just by asking, so I assume other students also have the same amount of control over which house they're put in. Sorry to go off topic a bit I just wanted to clear that up (:
