It would be ridiculous for the parents (of Rose and Scorpious) to be irate and forbid their kid to see the other. This never, ever works. Look at Romeo and Juliet and the Hatfield - McCoys Feud - if you don't know this story, see:

Should Rose fall for Scorpious (and vice versa), I say - "good for them!". They should follow their hearts. Perhaps their relationship will end the long lived animosity that exists between the Malfoys and the Weasleys, once and for all. It should.

This would definitely be odd, but it could work. The only problem is, Rose is not a pure-blood. So its likely, given that Malfoy married someone like him, that Scorpius would have inherited Malfoy's deep hatred of Half-bloods or "Mudbloods." Therefore, it would not be that Scorpius' parents wouldn't support this relationship (although I'm sure they wouldn't), it would be that Scorpius didn't want to be with a half-blood . Although I'm sure Rose and her parents would be okay with it though!!

I think Hermione would let it happen, but Ron would definitely have a problem with it. I actually really like the idea, old enemies becoming friends. I'm not sure how Draco would react, maybe he wouldn't approve because Ron's a "blood traitor" and Hermione's a muggle-born. But it would be really funny to see Ron's reaction!

If Scorpious and Rosie got together and later married, despite their parents objections, and had a child, that child would be the catalyst that would bring the families together. It doesn't always happen, but I've seen it happen. A grandchild tends to melt even the hardest of hearts.

I guess it would be fun to see how that would work out. I guess when reading the ending I didn't think anything of Malfoy's son. But reading everyone's opinions I think it would be interesting thing to think about. I do agree that Hermione would probably be okay with and that Draco and Ron would probably not be.

I really hope JKR mentions who Draco Malfoy marries in the encyclopedia. Ever since I read DH I've been going mad wondering who she is. As for Rose and Scorpius, I think they are the perfect match and could bring the two families together. Even though I dislike Scorpius as a name, I hope he is a better person then his father was.

Why not? It would be an opportunity for Draco to thank the trio! Anyway, there are 19 years and mentalities can change (I don't mean just for Draco, but for the whole society). I'm not sure Ron would be too happy first. Draco? it depends on who is wife is. If it's Pansy, I'd say no.

As for the name, Scorpius, it rather make me think of the stars (and the zoodiacal sign) than of the nasty arachnid. In this family, the two nice persons where named after stars : Sirius and Andromedra.

i wouldn't think that they would make such a great couple and ron would proberly kill scorpious and rosie if they got together it would be such a shock but it would cause ron and draco to be a bit more friendly with each other that would be a good thing but hermione wouldnt be very happy ever after what happend in PoA because she ended up punching him in the face that was funny and he did deserve it

I think that whoever Scorpius's mother is would effect the whole outcome. But seeing as Ms.Rowling withheld that information, we can only speculate. Personally, Cho Chang is my speculation.

Well, to be honest, we know very little to almost no information about Rose AND Scorpius, they were mentioned a few times in one chapter of the last book of the series. And plus, why worry about this now? Aren't they all just starting Hogwarts which would make them eleven years old? But either way, we all know that Harry and Malfoy turned out okay, like neutral about each other. So I'm hoping that Ron and Malfoy are like that as well.

I agree with you about people looking too far ahead with these too. I think rose is older though from what i read from the book. I think Ron will never get over the fact Malfoy was a snob. Malfoy owes Harry I guess and it would look bad to hate everyone's hero. Remember that the Malfoy's are like crowd pleasers and side with the strongest at the moment.

I don't know...in fan fiction it is a good thing, kind of Romeo and Juliet, but for strictly the book's purpose, no. Who says that Scorpius will be bad? I mean, he could be the sweetest child ever. I think that Rose/Scorpius is definately a possibility. Rose probably just won't listen to her father. Ron might dissaprove of their relationship at first, but he'll get over it. Remember when he didn't particurlary like Harry being with Ginny? Well, eventually he came to accept it. He would accept Rose being with Scorpius. Being a Malfoy doesn't automatically make you bad just like being a Weasley doesn't automatically make you good.

Well Draco's wife is Astoria Greengrass, younger sister of Daphne Greengrass who was in the trio's year and a Slytherin. So we don't know anything about Scorpius mother but so what? Maybe Scorpius will pull a Sirius!! Sirius was also born and brought up in a poor-blood, Voldemort-friendly family but turned out to be nothing like them!! Maybe Scorpius and Rose could be a Severus/Lilly with a good ending this time!!!

Ron would be furious that his daughter digs the "slimy git's" son and same goes for Hermione despite what you guys think. She'd handle the whole thing much better than Ron but she'd be furious nonetheless.

Hm, I don't know. It would be interesting, but as some have said, we know barely anything about the two. However, I think Rose would be influenced by what her family says, and she's got Harry and everyone talking about the Malfoys. So unless she turns out to be a rebel who wants to do things to get at her parents, I don't think her and Scorpius would work out. And, hah, Iiaria said that almost all fanfics are of the "bad" getting with the "good." It's funny because I think the mystery there is what leads to it. However, with Rose and Scorpius, it's all a mystery, so basically anyone can think anything.

I don't see why ScorpiusRose wouldn't work. I mean, sure we only got about a paragraph's decription of them, but that's not the point. Point is that it'd be a way of get all that pureblood's-marry-purebloods thing, and in my opinion, i's just ... really really cute.

I can see Ron wondering whther everyone's gone insane, Hermione being supporting, Mr Weasley suspicous, Hugo wondering why Rosie's getting all the attention, Draco wishing his son had fallen for someone else, and Rose and Scorpius running away while everyone else is arguing.

I don't think any of us have seen enough of either of the characters personalities to determine whether or not to go with this ship. It really depends on what you think of the Malfoy clan.
I personally don't see it too much. Theres always room for improvement, and a lot of differences between fathers and sons, but Malfoys are raised as Malfoys. I see the same with Hermione and Draco. The hate inbetween them would never allow them to get together

Just Because we don't know much about them, doesnt mean we cant asume what they would be like. I think Rose and Scorpius are perfect for each. All this stuff about Scorpius being a Malfoy and therefore Slytherin, meaning he cant be with Rose is just silly. We dont know that Scorpius is mean or evil or in Slytherin. I have always pictured him as a Gryffindor anyway.

Jayden, I like your idea of Scorpius being the new "Sirius of the family." That made me laugh but I think you're right, that could be a possibility. We don't know anything about these characters so anything is possible and it seems like every other generation, a pureblood turns against their family - first Sirius, now Scorpius.

I can't imagine the fit Ron would have though! Personally, I like the pairing, it's totally plausible however, some other good points were raised, I read one I think on the first page or so comparing the ship to Romeo and Juliet. So basically, I could see this pairing possibily happening but not without sacrifice as well as a LOT of drama.

I personally really like the Rose/Scorpius pairing. It's really cute! Ron would be annoyed at first, but eventually he'd get over it and come to accept the idea. I guess Hermione might be a little annoyed but she wouldn't show it. But, she would basically be happy for Rose. Yup, that's how I imagine it.

I see this relationship exactly like Mr Darcy and Elizabeth. At first hating each other, but in the end, loving each other. Not exactly James/Lily, but ... i can see them having some sort of Ball (The triwizard Tournament's on again, just say) and Albus has dared Rose that if she went with Scorpius to the ball, she end up falling for him by the end of the night.

So they go together. But not only does Rose end up hating him more, eh, she realizes he loves her?

emma, i always imagined her with red hair, but Hermione's bushy-frizzy style. And Ron's eyes. But there's nothing wrong with that-it can be the hair that Scorpius likes about her ... but the odd habit of being good at everything (Ron said-she's inherited Hermione's brains after all).

Oh! That's a good point. They'd be adorable and all, but the only problem I can see would indeed be Draco's reaction... I'm sure he'd be a little like 'Whaaa-?' at the beginning, and at the middle too but eventually he'd get over it, since I'm sure at the time he has more respect for Ron, Harry and Hermione and he's sure matured (I hope... ). And it's not like Rose in muggle-born, so what's the problem!?

I imagine Scorpius being brought up to be like Draco, but once he get's to Hogwarts, he just goes "Nah, i'm being nice." I can also sort of see him just not liking Rose at first. Like she was really annoying to him, so Draco encouraged it. Until they sort of, i dunno go through some traumatic experience together (Ok, a troll keeps poping into my mind, but i doubt that would happen again) and they end up friends.

and as for ron and draco's reaction....i think that would be pretty hilarious especially on ron's part but since hermione is there for him i guess she can handle it....as for draco's wife, jk rowling has released the name of draco's wife and fortunately it's not pansy(i can't remember the name though)....so i guess it depends on the upbringing in scorpius part.....

and i personally think that scorpius won't be that bad besides draco is not that evil it's just because of his upbringing...being raise by a death eater can have a negative effect on your personality you know.....

all in all i think that this ship would be totally awesome.....
