I definitely think that Harry would have saved them! they did raise how, however badly, but they gave him a home and they're his blood. he's too much of a hero not to wub.gif

i think i would have saved them as well...though he was treated like complete rubbish...
what do you think?

As much as I don't really care for Harry and his beliefs, I think he would definitely have saved them. I mean, he even became sympathetic to Draco when the latter was in a tight situation. I doubt Harry would let them suffer if he could help it.

I think Harry would have saved the Dursleys. As strained as their relationship was, I think he would realize that they had no idea how evil the Death Eaters and Voldemort were. And he found out Dudley learned the error of his ways, so I think he would feel guilty not saving him.
Dumbledore's Widow
Harry's a good guy. He would save the Dursleys had they been caught by Deatheaters. Hopefully the Deatheaters weren't under orders to kill the Dursleys.

Maybe Harry could polyjuice himself and disguise himself as Voldemort and give the orders to release the Dursleys and let them go their merry way! But wait, this won't work, since Harry doesn't have a strand of Voldemort's hair (who is bald anyway!). Ha Ha! tongue.gif

Yes, I definitely think Harry would have saved them. Although their relationship was bad through 16 years, it still ended nicely between them, with Dudley saying that he "wasn't a waste of space," and Petunia almost saying good luck.

Plus, of course, it Order of the Phoenix, Ron and Hermione said that Harry had a "saving people thing." I mean think about it, it's true! He attempted to save Ginny, Sirius, Cedric, and then Sirius again, but he failed twice, resulting in the death of Cedric and Sirius. You have to admit that, due to past evidence, he definitely would have saved them. I would have too!!!!!!!

oh without a doubt harry would have saved them, or tried at any rate. he is too like his mother and would do anything for pretty much anyone (who is good and not trying to kill him e.g. death eaters lol)! i dont think, as bad as a childhood they gave him, that he could knowingly ignore them being in danger, hes too good a lad tongue.gif. he saved dudley from the dementors, he could have just saved him self and legged it, as dudley had just punched him, but of course he didnt, he saved him. its in his nature.
i would do the same, i could never just let them die, i would have to try something, anything to help them, even though i very much doubt they would do the same for anyone but themselves.
ali_kisskiss
definitely harry would have saved them. thats basically all he does; "the saving people thing". and i think that deep down he had some kind of connection to them emotion wise, i mean they are related (in a way) and they gave him a place to live (no matter what conditions came along with it). especially since

overall ya he would have, i think we all know that.

Harry definitely would have saved them, me on the other hand would have to think about it more than Harry would. He's shown throughout the series what he would do to save people (anyone, no matter how badly they treated him) and I doubt there has been one incident where someone was in trouble and Harry just left them, he would always put himself in danger for others.

I would have to say that I strongly feel thatl Harry would have rescued the Dursleys if they had been caught. He saved Dudley once already. I don't think that Harry would have let anyone innocent be hurt if he could help it. It doesn't matter how much he didn't like them or that they didn't like him. I think Harry would always do the right thing.
tonks&lunalvr
Harry is the kind of person that would save anyone, regardless of their actions, or how they treated him. He saved Dudley once already, Malfoy countless times, and even tried to save LV from what he would become if he didn't feel remorse. I think if Harry would try to save LV, he would most definetly save the Dursleys. After all, they were his family as well.
Gwenog
well actually harry even saved one of them beforehand in OOTP when they were attacked by this dementor...he carried dudley (who is not the thinnes guy laugh.gif ) all the way back home when he was attacked...and of course he would have saved them in any other case because I know that harry would have felt in a way responsible as they came into touch with the magical world due to him...and not just his feeling of responsibilty would drive him into that but also in a weird way remembering that they are after all(how horrible they were or are) his family...(in a very very sick and weird way there is to add again)
harry is just too much of a hero not to act like that... happy.gif

Yeah, I think Harry would have saved the dursley's I wouldn't have saved them though.
amarie.
Without a doubt Harry would have done what he would see as the only thing to do: save them. It probably wouldn't affect his choice to save them, but he'd probably remember Dudley's change of heart, and Petunia's hidden past. He knows that she doesn't quite hate him as much as he thought she did, too. Also, they did, however grudgingly, let him live with him and protect him. That might also be an incentive to save the Dursley's.

But as I mentioned before, Harry would think about all of those things second, because his first instinct would be do save the Dursleys anyway, no matter the danger to him. It's almost kind of worrying to know that Harry could be so predictable, and to think that someone would pull a 'Sirius' on him, but the war's over now, and that's what makes Harry so great anyway. He'll save the people around him and put himself into danger rather than allow anything to cause harm to them.

It's a good point, though, to mention that they are is family no matter what, like Gwenog just said, and Harry places a lot of value on family ties. Take his longing for his own parents, or his yelling at Lupin to get him to go back to his family, for example.
Harragon
He would of let them rot. Lol not. But still he should. biggrin.gif

I am almost 100% sure that HArry would have saved him. Even though they treated him badly and didn't love him, he still cared for them. Expecially after they left him in the 7th book, at least with Dudley, I think he would have put his life on the line for them. Although, he will do that for almost anyone. He's such a hero.
UnknownLocket
Of course, Harry would save the Dursleys! or at least I would like to think so. As we saw, Dudley really wasn't that bad of a person. Nor was his aunt, although his uncle can still be qeustioned....But I mean, if Harry could risk his life to save Malfoy and Goyle (two people who he has disliked as much or almost as much as Voldemort and Snape), then he most likely would do the same for the Dursleys too. Afterall, he has that "saving people" thing, so he can't just leave them there as bait.
emma200
i think that harry would have saved the dursleys, even though they treated him so badly, i think he cared about them. exspecially after what dudley said to him as they parted.
Harry Ballsonia
Harry definitly would have saved them, it's in his nature to save people. He had saved Duddley from dementors before and would save the Dursleys from certain death if possible.
MISIA
well of course he'd save them. no matter how much he hates them he would never let innocent (kind of) people be killed at his expense. like it said in book 5 harry loves playing the hero and he'll always save people no matter who they are.
PotterPlotter
I think he would have. As Dudley worst memory was himself, he change his thoughts about harry over time. I think he would have save them if he had time in his huge journey. I still don't get though what becomes of them at the end. They just get taken away to hide.
Steven
I definitely think he would have. After when Dudley was all surprised that they were leaving Hary behind. IT showed that at least one of them cared for him. He would have saved them.
Witherwings
Like everyone else said, I think he would definitely save them! happy.gif I think not only he would save them as a thank you for... somewhat taking care of him biggrin.gif, but also because he wouldn't be able to bare seeing them die like that. How would you feel if your aunt and uncle (even if they're evil!) died and you were able to save them, but you just stood there and didn't do anything? Exactly. smile.gif And Harry, obviously, has his own little 'hero' thing going on. lol! He just has this nature of saving people. I mean- he saved Draco! (thank god!)

Of course Harry would save the Dursley's. So would I. They were cruel to him, but they DID take him in. Although Vernon has no redeeming qualities, Petunia at least was ABOUT to say good luck or whatever, and Dudley was thankful and even cared a bit about Harry, in his twisted way.

Plus, he saved DRACO, for gawd's sake. How could he not save them, but save HIM?

Harry would definitely save them. He would try to save anyone--especially his own flesh and blood--no matter how mean they were to him before. And let's not forget how Petunia and Dudley acted- well, almost nice as Harry was leaving. Of course, it doesn't make up for everything, but it shows that they are not evil. And don't forget Stan Shunpike--he was a death eater and yet Harry still only tried to take his wand, not even stun him.
If it were my choice, I would save them. As much as I would hate them, and as little of a hero as I would be, no one deserves to die (exceptions such as Bellatrix and Voldemort are very rare). It would be horrible for them to be killed by Voldemort--they, if they had to choose, would be on the good side, however reluctantly. Mean? Yes. Unforgivable? Maybe. Evil? Definitely not.

I am positive that Harry would have saved the Dursleys because he saved Malfoy. He also saved Dudley once before (from the dementor in OotP). That being said, I could see why people would ask this question or argue this point because when he saved Dudley and when he saved Malfoy they were both right in front of him and the situation where the Dursleys might have been in danger had they not gone with the order would be that LV was torturing them somewhere where Harry was not and he would have to physically go somewhere (and put himself in danger) to save them. However I still think he would have saved them because ultimately Harry has a good heart and like Hermione said he has a saving people/hero type thing about him.
Nasuada
Even though Harry loathed the Dursleys with such passion, I have no doubt he would have saved them if need be. They were family and he wouldn't let anything happen to them. He already saved Dudley and he'd do it again. The Dursleys did take him in a raise him and would save them. That's all there is to it! biggrin.gif

I think he definetly would have saved them no matter how much he hated living with them and because he has saved people that he's hated more than them. Since Harry has a "saving people thing", he wouln't be able to ignore knowing that the Dursleys were in Voldemort's clutches and would anything he could to rescue them. Especially since Dudley started being nice to him.

Yeah... I think Harry would have saved them. Maybe if Dudley hadn't turned into a kind of good person and his aunt and uncle hated him as much as ever he wouldn't have saved them. But that's not even that likely.

So, Harry would have saved them. They raised him, and as much as they put him down over the years, they sort of are the reasons why he's the way he is. I don't know whether that makes sense or not...
nadadurr0
Harry would definitely have saved them. He saved Draco from the cursed fire, and he didn't want to kill Stan even when dueling. He would've saved them not because he loved them, but because he is a noble wizard.
superhappiness
Of couse he would. This is Harry Potter were talking about. Even though he hated the Dursleys he would never let them die.
Ravenclawprincess
Harry would certainly have saved them, or at least tried to. He really had a 'saving people thing' like Ron said in GoF. Gabrielle Delacour, Sirius, Draco, surely he would have gone after the Dursleys if they were captured.
kassie
I'm pretty sure Harry would have saved the Dursleys. I mean, they are his only family even though they mistreated him. Harry wouldn't be able to sit back while they were caught. It's in his nature to save those that he can.
honey~pie
I'm 100% sure Harry would have saved them. They were after all, his flesh and blood, and they raised him up, however unwillingly.

Too true!^

Harry would have saved anyone, however much he had loathed them. He did have a "saving people thing", as Ron and Hermione said. How could he leave his own blood and flesh in the hands of Voldemort?

I definetly think that harry would have saved them. Even after everything theyve been through they are still family. Harry would still have emotions for them. I think he was touched when dudley told him he wasnt a waste of space and held out his hand to shake harry's. He would definelty go after them.
