Can you count me in?? I love Ron... he's so funny,he's smart in his own way. At first, i cant believe he's also romantic..

lucky hermione granger...
I like the phrase she told harry about the grim while in Trelaawney's divination class...in OoTP... I think its's something like "you're going to suffer but you're going to be happy about it"... it was really funny... he's sooo cool.

Regarding bout the question whether Ron will join the dark side..
I don't think Ron will do that... Cause we have seen how much he hated Percy for preferring the ministry than his family and the truth. When it comes to that matter i think Ron has a good prerogative and beliefs...

This thread is always so dead when I come around! Granted, I don't really do my fair share of coming here often enough to help keep it alive, but still.
Now, let's see. What sort of topic (Ron) topic haven't we discussed yet? Goodness, I think we're running out of questions!
How about some artwork. Does anyone have any drawings they've done of Ron or any graphics to share? If you have anything you want to show us feel free to put it here!
I know Jayden is working on a video, and I think I've posted a few icons in here before, so we need a fresh round of artwork. So get cracking people!

Hiii!! I know I'm kind of deserter of this thread

but now I've decided to have a bigger participation here!! (actually I haven't posted here more than my request of being part *ehem, sorry*
Oh, Ronnie, Ronnie, Ronnie ...
What was your favourite Ron moment? it can be from the books or the movies.Which one?? Lots of them! Emm, ok ,let's say some (I'm gonna post some quotes, so sorry if I don't remember them well):
*"Follow the spiders! Follow the spiders! Why he didn't say follow the butterflies?"
*"Can I see your Uranus too, Lavender?"
*"You're going to suffer but you're going to be happy about it"
*"We're forgetting somebody!"
Who? "The house-elves. They're all down in the kitchen, aren't they?" (and what follows..)
*His insensibility moments with Nick
*When he cares for the Cattermoles
I don't know, he always get me both laughing and ... awww!
jayden, what kind of video? A song that reminds me of Ron is "All about you" of McFly, don't know why, but seems so sweet
I think Ron would never join the dark side: he can be
revengeous, but is brave as well; for some reason is a Gryffindor. Besides .... ah, I don't know, but I love him!

Hmm, my favorite Ron moment.
One of my favorites is in the film whenever Snape smacks him over the head with a notebook. I dont know why, I just love that part. I laugh everytime.
Honestly, it's been so long since I've read the books that I couldn't pick a specific moment from any one of them as my favorite. I guess that's a good sign that I need to read them again, huh?!

Well basically everything Ron does I fall in love with, but my favorite moments are in one of the movies when he’s scarfing down food and Hermione says Ron! And he’s like what I’m hungry! Ha I don’t know why but it always makes me laugh. Also whenever he says Her-my-nee it is very funny. I also love the part when Snape hits him over the head with a book. Ohh and also at that part when he tries to ask Hermione to the ball the same way Fred did. Like dancing or something.

funny or

H/R moments, so

I've remebered more things I like about him:
*the faces he put in the films (well, actually Rupe): when we watch it in family, my dad always says: "That ginger is really ugly, isn't it?" And I'm like "aaaaaagh!!" (kill him kill him kill him)
*every time he flirts with Hermione in DH
*

when he’s scarfing down food and Hermione says Ron! And he’s like what I’m hungry!
Yep! Me too.
*Then when he's in the hospital unconscious and mumbles Her-my-kee
*Bah, ok, every fluffy moment is sooo sweet! I love him trying to be sweet!

I would like to join. I love Ron. He's like the character who carries the humor in the trio since the other two are kind of serious.
One of my favorite funny moments in the books is in DH when Harry had the dream about Voldemort hunting Gregorovitch and he forgot where he had heard the name and asked Ron if he knew the name. And Ron says "Are you sure you're not thinking of Gorgovitch? record holder for most Quaffle drops in a single season?" Then Harry says "no, I'm definitely not thinking of Gorgovitch." Then Ron says " I try not to either". That part was so funny to me when I read it. And in the movie OotP when Snape hits him in the head, that was also very funny.

I agree with silverman; he's the humorous one in the dark times ... but has his brain, though. Oh, and that reminds me when Hermione told him: 'Rack your brains, that should not take you long', or something like that ... I felt really bad for poor Ronnie-pooh

but understood Hermione's feelings too.

I lurve* that scene too, nicky potter! And rereading PoA, I remembered when he tells Lupin something like: "Satay away from me, werewolf!" That was so funny
I can't wait anymore for HBP to be released. It will be so exciting to see Ron again. I think he's the most charismatic of the trio. I've realised that, despite it isn't very shown in the movies, Ron has always the right words for his friends (ok, sometimes off topic, but...), he's always there, encouraginf the others. Here I can add another Ron moment I love: when he face people to defend his friends. I can list some, as I remember them (sorry about the translation; I couldn't find them):
*When Snape call Hermione "an unbeareable know-it-all", and he says "you've made a questions and she asnwered; why do you ask if you don't want to be asnwered?" I didn't like it in the movie 'cause he says "He has his point"
*When he throws a huge, viscous crocodile heart to Malfoy when mocking Harry, PoA
*When he runs to Hermione after getting hit by the missed Desaugeo jinx, nd then defends Harry -- a bit, with Snape, despite they were angry
*When he stands Seamus for calling Harry mental, or something of the sort
*When Harry describes what an Inferi is, and Snape says it's wrong, and Ron says ... well, you know what he says!
I don't want to make a fool of myself by writing something that has nothing to do with the original
nicky potter
Jun 20 2008, 10:37 PM

haha DeSs i love those too .
what i also lovee about Ron are his facial expressions to ceartain situations. like when he was up next for the boggrat to come in PoA his face waiting for that to come out was PRICELESS haha. & i know what you mean he's like the funny random out of nowhere sense of huor guy of the trio. while the other two are trying so hard to think & they're like about to die of stress here comes Ronald Bilius Weasley to rescue [well not really hehe] with an off topic or ridiculous response/statement that you cant help but laugh haha & dont you just love his hair in the 3rd movie? & how it transitions to a bit longer in the 4th? i LOVE it , he looks so gahh sexay (; lol

Well, as I'm a bit -- just a bit -- bored, and this thread needs more fresh air (by the way, I've spotted how many people has recently joined ... woha!

), I decided to set some random questions, both deep ones and everyday curious issues that I'm used to think in, and if somebody feels like doing it, pick whichever you like and give us an answer!
* How do you think Ron has evolved since SS till DH and beyond?I won't answer this now; maybe ... next week. But he did it, he evolved, and that's awesome
* Would you have forgiven Ron at once or after a while when he returned to Forest of Dean? Why?I think at first I'd reacted like Hermione, because in her shoes, I'd see him like a stupit, leaving his friends and now returning. But then, by listening he saved Harry's life and he returned because he liked to and not because he didn't have a place to stay or 'cause somebody was telling him to do it so, I think I had surrender. Well, actually, I did, when he rescues Harry, when he tells them the story of his
trip, and when he hopefully expects another welcome ... uuf, my heart melt
* How do you see Ron as a dad? (mature, funny, serious, like Mr Weasley, etc ...)I think he grow at last; I realised of that change in the whole battle of Hogwarts (woha, that maybe answers my first question a bit), so I think he would be a greta dad. He will be funny, and of course a bit more permissive than Hermione, but he will know how to raise their children, because Hermione will teach him, I'm sure. And I can see him resembling to his dad, who is always satisfying his wife because he loves her, and all that stuff ... *sighs* Oh, I think that at this late, I'm becoming more and more touching and I feel like I want to marry somebody like him right now.
» Click to Show Spoiler - Click Again to Hide... «
*What do you think about Ron working first with George at the jokes' shop and then as an Auror? Did you like it when you found it out, which other job would have you given to him, had you imagined something like that??
» Click to Show Spoiler - Click Again to Hide... «
I think it's great!!! That shows another sign of maturity: working, and with his brother, maybe to soften the grief of have missed their brother

And about becoming an Auror ... I didn't see him like an Auror, but judging by the bravery he shown, I think he'll do it super great. I didn't imagined anything like that; but as I didn't imagined anything at all, it's ok. I love that future for him!!
I love Ron!!

EGAD! So sorry I haven't been loyal to Ron recently, I've been extremely busy but I'm back now! So on with the questions!
* How do you think Ron has evolved since SS till DH and beyond?
Wow great question. Well I do think that he became way more mature throughout the books, but not sooo mature that he turned into like, Percy. More like he became more serious, but still had fun and stuff. Plus he also became braver, he wasn't so scared like he was in the first couple of books.
* Would you have forgiven Ron at once or after a while when he returned to Forest of Dean? Why?
Well, at first I was REALLY angry at him. I mean, how could he just walk out on his best friend like that? But when he apologized and helped Harry till the very end, I forgave him.
Also did anyone notice that as soon as he left, the book took a depressing tone to it? And as soon as he came back, it became all...well not HAPPY but better? Sigh, our Ron is like...a ray of sunshine! (Geez, I'm getting corny)
* How do you see Ron as a dad? (mature, funny, serious, like Mr Weasley, etc ...)
I agree with DeSs, he would make a GREAT dad, funny but, when needed, could be serious. He is also very kind and sweet, and where he is lacking, mostly in the discipline factor, Hermione could teach him to do that.
I'll elaborate if I can later on, I know my answers are kind of short. I'll do the last question later too!

wow everyone! im so glad we've been able to keep this thread alive!!

but now onto the questions,
How do you think Ron has evolved since SS till DH and beyond?umm. good question. haha. i think hes matured.. and definately faced alot more of his fears.
Would you have forgiven Ron at once or after a while when he returned to Forest of Dean? Why?i think i would have forgiven him after a while, but i mean, thats just me. im very tough when it comes to forgiving people.

yes i did notice! haha. it got kind of..not really depressing, but not particularily happy either. ron just makes everything better
How do you see Ron as a dad? (mature, funny, serious, like Mr Weasley, etc ...)if by "like Mr. Weasley" you mean, he'll be extremely amused by how muggles live, then yes he'll be like Mr. Weasley. haha. i think Ron will be one of those funny, laid-back type dads that let their kids have everything. and then Hermione will have to be the strict-type parent.

okie dokie im new here, but i love ron so i figured i would post:
How do you think Ron has evolved since SS till DH and beyond?
Ron has evolved in a big way. He used to be a bit cowardly at first and in the end of the 1st movie he took charge, and that happened in all of the books but in DH he doesn't have a cowardly moment at all,in the end he shows his gryffindor traits-braveness
Would you have forgiven Ron at once or after a while when he returned to Forest of Dean? Why?
I probably would've waited like 10 minutes before forgiving him because i understand that he was jealous and stuff but it wasn't all that right to just leave like that
How do you see Ron as a dad? (mature, funny, serious, like Mr Weasley, etc ...)
I think Ron would be a great dad.He would be very fun to hang out with, but responsible and mature when the time came
nicky potter
Jun 25 2008, 02:09 PM
* How do you think Ron has evolved since SS till DH and beyond?Wow. Ron has evolved tremendously from SS to DH. He use to be that little red headed boy . who just had some anger problems

he had different priorities as a kid but it all changed throughout the year, & soon became a man . a sexy red headed man (; jk . no but honestly he wasn't that quirky little kid that was ALOT more afraid than before, he sort of man up alot in the story , started taking a bit more responsibility & became protective of the ones he loved
* Would you have forgiven Ron at once or after a while when he returned to Forest of Dean? Why? Honestly i think i would've. I mean i understand what he was feeling although maybe i wouldn't have known this if i was in the story not reading. but since i read it , i think i would have forgiven because what he was feeling and the situation at the time it was alot of pressure for the trio i mean i"m surprised that it wasn't hermoine who cracked, but of course . like the previous poster said that ron was like a ray of happy sunshine or something to that extent. but its true when he left things got dimmer & the mood changed & you could feel it as you read along as if dementors around & when he came back [although the world problem wasnt resolved yet] it was as if dementors had left (: yay my ron<3
* How do you see Ron as a dad? (mature, funny, serious, like Mr Weasley, etc ...)
i can see Ron like his dad in ways. maybe he wont be interested in muggle items but sort of like... Arthur (: i can def. se Ron like the dad to make jokes in everything, afraid to talk to his daughter for the personal stuff all of that

like the typical great dad <333

What are Ron's best and worst qualities? Ron's best qualities would have to be his looks lol of course and him being a great friend(not sure what word to use for that)
Ron's worst qualities would probably be his temper,he can get mad pretty easily, and his jealousy i guess(in DH:although he had the right to be mad)
How do you think Ron would be different if he never met Harry?I think if Ron had never sat with Harry that first day on the Hogwarts Express,he never would've fallen for Hermione and he would be less brave and more of a coward i suppose

not sure
nicky potter
Jun 28 2008, 02:21 AM
good
questions harrypotterlover1024 (: i believe that they have not been yet discuss if so then i dont remember & i shall comment on that...
What are Ron's best and worst qualities?i believe some of his best qualities is his
loyalty. he is VERY loyal to those who are the same to him. minus the incident he had in the DH when he walked out on them but that was a moment & atleast he didnt have the need to give harry's where abouts out. that would have been low. he's also
caring. for instance , although his feelings for hermione were skyrocketing in DH , he still showed her how much he cared, regardless the way she treated him. or in OoTP when harry began to have people tell him he's a liar & what not , there was Ron right behind him defending him even if it meant going against those who were his friends as well . i guess you can say thats loyalty to their friendship. when you also come to think about it , he's that guy that seems to lighten up a dim room , or makes a bad situation funny. he's smart . maybe not booksmart like hermione but my dad always told me that playing chess is great a analytical & strategical game. & ron plays it well. He's
trusting. with ron you can tell him anything & he'll most likely take that secret to the grave if thats what you want him to do. he's kind lol although some might say not , i see him kind<3 when he wants to he can be nice but all in all you might not see it because for the friendship that they have they are true to eachother whether it hurts there feelings or not because thats there way of being honest. which is another thing that Ron is ,
honest. His honesty maybe a bit brutal lol but at the end he tells it like it is. He is
reliable, if you need him to be there he probably would be. example.. when harry said in the CoS to follow the spiders [rons biggest fear] he still went with harry knowing that harry needed him. He has his
helpful moments (: like SS with the chess game, most def. that was helpful

& of course all in all who doesnt enjoy ron's company? he's
fun. that is noticeable throughout the whole series , wherever the trio went there has never been a dull moment with ron(: & also hes not judgemental
Some of his bad qualities could be he has a tendency of speaking before thinking & thar gets him into trouble. he does that alot , there are times where he can be inconsiderate , to hermione it would be to the elves, how to treat a girl & especially to her. he def. has a temper that can get him into trouble , he becomes envious for petty things & to some , you might find him rude & obnoxious but can you blame him ? he's a guy (: no offense , & to be honest i really cant find much bad qualities. maybe i missed some but what can i say iLOVE ron. my favorite character of all. the day i meet rupert grint take a pic, have an autograph & chat a bit with him then really life is complete for me<3
How do you think Ron would be different if he never met Harry? To be honest its really hard to picture ron without harry . they're like peanut buter & jelly . but i think that Ron were ceartainly have been different if he never met harry , i mean he'll still be who he is in a way; maybe not as courageous as he is now . or ambitious. he wouldnt become the risk taker he has become , & his life def. took a different course than expected . more trouble than hoping for but it made him to become a better person.he's probably be under the weasley family shadow. Bill was head boy , charlie was captain of the quidditch team , percy the prefect & smart one, fred & george , well , they are liked for being funny & mischevious & what would ron be? exactly , so because of the friendship he's had with harry , it helped ron become a person the person that none of his brother might not have been able to become. thats my opinion .
what do you all have in mind? (:

Oooh, such a good couple of questions, harrypotterlover1024!!

And, yes, we
must keep this thread uup, and with fresh questions every time we can!
What are Ron's best and worst qualities?Well, the best are that he's always willing to stand people to protect their friends, more even than if he had to do it for himself, I think. And he always (ok, nearly always) supported Harry when he was in danger, or sad or something for a good reason. Besides, he can be veery sweet and cute some times
The worse are that he's a bit insecure and tends to the wrong things; I mean, not to the
bad things, but to choices the only dazzle him (you know, for example, when he fancied Fleur). And that he's very jealous, but it has an explanation, though.
How do you think Ron would be different if he never met Harry?I think he will never have grown as much as having known Harry and Hermione, because they lived adventures that really make your spirit stronger than any other thing; and yes, he'd never known Hermione and probably'd be miserable with a girl like Lavender (sorry if there's a Lav's fan here

)

Hey nicky potter this isn't that bad of a question! At least you can come up with one!
Okay so I personally think that he looked up to the twins. He probably felt jealous that they had their own joke shop and they were so funny and talented with pranks, I bet he admired them. Plus, he's sort of like them in a way, always not caring about rules that much and not the smartest person of the group. And he can be REALLY funny at times.
He obviously didn't look up to Percy, and I don't think he looked up to Charlie or Bill too much, they were never really at home and he's pretty different from both, especially Bill.
<3 Rachel
nicky potter
Jul 1 2008, 10:00 PM
i too think that he looked up to the twins more becuase not only were they close to age you can see in the stories that they bond a little more than the other brother, even if we dont hear much about bill til later on. Maybe the one thing thing that he [that i think] he always admired from charlie was his quidditch skills that got him to be quidditch captain. & of course he looked at the twins but probably to him beaters wasnt his thing so he didnt look at that. thats one thing. but i think he looked at the twins to seeing as they werent that far away of school year. & besides they [the twins] present themselves as careless & living life, which well Ron likes alot

& thank you

I think that maybe Ron looked up to all of his brothers. Charlie and Bill because they had good jobs and were just plain cool. Percy (maybe, maybe not) because he was head boy and a prefect. And the twins because they had good marks and were a lot of fun to be around.

thank you sadie ! & you make a point yourself there now. its possible as the youngest male of 5 older brothers, there may be a little of something that he admires from all of them. i mean they all have a name for themelves, not saying that ron hasnt

becuase im sure he has his own name now

& percy was the hardest to determine for me haha he seem very uptight about things , ron is too ladiback & easy going, even if he gets uptight himself but thats when he's scared or worried

Nicky- I completely agree! Another question. Do you think that Ron secretly admired Percy even when saying he hated him? I mean, there were a lot of reasons for Ron to look up to him...

well the one thing that came to my mind while reading is that seeing how ron has always seem to have been potrayed as unsure & didnt know how to carry himself that much , percy alays knew how to defend himself even if it didnt work out & he was always sure of who he was & what he will become. THAT may be what ron looks at, because other than that it maybe percys attitude & swagger as one would say, was the "unattractiveness" of him. if that made sense. thoughts anyone else ?

Seeing as Ron has 5 brothers , do you think Ron looked up to any of them? Does he take after any of them?
Great question!
I'm sure he looked up to all of them ALOT,since in the Mirror of Erised he saw a little bit of all of his brothers in himself.
But I think he looked up to Fred and George the most, because even though they fought, like every other sibling, you could tell that he really wanted to be as funny and outgoing as the twins. And than who can forget that in OotP they left school and started their own business, that rocketed. They were responsible and knew how to care of themselves and that's why I think he admired the twins most.
Do you think that Ron secretly admired Percy even when saying he hated him?
I would have to say.....maybe but not very likely. If he did admire anything about Percy it was probably just that he got a job in the Ministry at such a young age. Other than that,no because of how he treated Arthur Weasley and because of how he was like" gum on the Minister's shoe". He was always with either one of them and "believed" whatever they believed. Percy was like a poser I guess you could say. So mainly,no I don't think Ron admired Percy

Great thoughts on my question! I personally agree with Nicky Potter, but I can see gissgon's point. I think that maybe Ron admired Percy's confidence and his ability to defend himself easily, but I can see why Ron would hate the way he treated the Weasly family.

Definetley , Gissgon makes, as well, a very good point. Although i think differently about Ron admiring Percy job wise. But I can say that maybe it's the fact that Percy is a person that just so happens to have so much potential, & of course Ron during the course of his schooling was the kind of regular kid that felt uneasy & unsure of himself. So maybe he envied a bit the fact that his brother Percy not only was so smart, but carried himself in a way that opened many opportunities. I mean this is my opinion, anyone can think different. Gissgon makes a point though.
& defienetley he saw a bit of all of his brothers. So young in his first year. Noy only physically but mentally, & already all of his brothers have somehow made a name for themselves. Whether it was academically or sociallly. Bill, Charlie & Percy were all prefects & head boy. Fred & George was liked by everybody. & Ron? Still didn't know, ut like any kid the comedy of things was better than academics, so Fred & George seemed more fun & cool & that's what Ron wanted.
Very good points that Gissgon made

enjoyed reading it! if anyone has anymore questions please don't be shy & post them, if not then i can't wait to read more on others thoughts here. Although we can pretty much establish that Fred & George were like role models

Unless you beg to differ then that's different. Let's keep this forum going!

Okay. I have a new question. Do you think that Ron liked Hermione even in the "early years" (1st-3rd year), did it sort of grow into something after being with each other all the time, or did it just happen suddenly? Please reply! I'd like to know your opinions.

Do you think that Ron liked Hermione even in the "early years" (1st-3rd year), did it sort of grow into something after being with each other all the time, or did it just happen suddenly?Well I don't think that Ron determine that he right there on the spot he liked Hermione. I think it was more like in their first year obviously he couldn't stand because of the first impression he got from her. [It probably reminded him of percy

] But anywho, in their second year it became more laid back becuase they finally got to see how each person was, Ron got to see what kind of person Hermione really was, & vice versa with Ron. In their third year, my favorite

, I feel like they sort think there was something but not sure. Meaning that maybe they started to notice one another in a different light, not like friends like they were. They each individually thought that maybe there can be but they weren't sure what the other person thought. It was undeveloped young love is how I see it

so cute & young yet so little did they know they were meant to be<3 So to answer the question if they clicked right away? no. This was something that took time. It's possible that Hermione starting liking him becuase girls are sort of early when it comes to this

for him it was progressing over the years.

Yes! My thoughts exactly! I just wanted to see what everyone else said. Another question to add on to that: Was Ron always jealous of Harry, or did he just start the whole envy thing in the later books? I already have my opinion, but I want to hear everyone elses again!
