I would just like to start by saying hello to my friend Fleur! lol. Well on the first page of this thread, kipsy left a very long message and I just absolutely loved it! Ron is just my favourite, I love him to bits for his amazing personality. He makes me laugh so much when I read the books, some of the things he comes out with! I just love it when he says 'brilliant' or 'bloody hell' . Those words seem much more special when Ron says them! I will have to search the books for my favourite Ron lines! In fact, I should keep a record of them when I find one! Would you like me to do that RG babe? I could make a record of Ron's funny comments and then after I have quite a few, post them in this thread? Anyway, I would just love to join and support the most loveable character Ron!

Hmm. That's an interesting topic. I think we may hear more about it in the next book. It's one of those things that isn't really that important, but it also can't be left out of the story. We'll all need an explination for what exactly did happen.

Hey I'd love to be part of this! Ron Rules! lol well about the brains thing, do you think maybe the scars they left will come into play? (Ron told Hermione that he "still had marks from where those brains grabbed me") Or do you think they altered him in another way, like mentally?

I think they mentally did something to him. Wait, didn't he get hit with a spell first, and that's why he went all nuts? I need to reread that part of the book, I think. There is definitely something creepy about those brains, though. I doubt they did Ron any good.

It's going to be interesting where Ron's character goes in the 7th book. He could go anywhere really. He's pretty much open territory.

i agree the part of OotP playing in the ministry is quite confusing... and you somehow have to read it fast to find out ( though you already know) what is happening next.

Yes, i also agree. Many people think that Ron is just the other boy in the trio (Harry is the leader and Hermione is the smart girl), but i'm betting that Ron is going to suprise everyone and do something truly heroic.

Also what do you guys think is going to happen to Ron, because there are a few rumors that Ron is going to be one of these who dies.

Honestly, I don't think he's going to be one that gets killed. If it's any of the trio, I feel it's going to be Hermione. Maybe I'm just in denial, because I really, really dont want him to die. But, I truly dont think he's going to.

I also don't think tha Ron will die. I, just don't see that happening. I think he will do something very heroic like what hp_book_reader said. I personalyy think that he and Hermione have to get together so he can't die so soon after they figure out their feeling you know? I also think Harry will be the one to die, along with Voldemort.

Hmm, I could see Ron saving Hermione like that. Actually, that's a very good guess as to how he will die (if he will). It would anger me to see him do that, but it certainly is heroic.

as JKR said that she´ll kill of 2 characters that she hadn´t planed to kill in the first place i immediantely had to think about ron...
i don´t want him to die, but i´ve got the feeling he´ll do something big and vivid in the last book, to proof that he is truly bold.
that´s were the "saving-hermione"-theory comes from.

^ If he were to die (Heaven forbid), it better be something good, like saving someone's life. Even if it is Hermione (sorry, I dont like her. at least not in the films anyways)

Ron can't die because there would be no purpose. He still needs to do something significant and not to mention get together with Hermione Also the last chapter in the 7th book is an epilogue so...I'm hoping Ron won't die but I highly doubt that J.K. will kill him off...

It would be kind of random and unecessary for J.K. to kill Ron off. There really wouldn't be a point in it. You're right. He still hasn't done anything significant. He's just in that "sidekick" phase and needs to prove himself. He hasn't completed his heroes journey yet!
His relationship with Hermioine still seems kind of strange to me. It's like J.K. just put it into the story to appease the fans. I dont really care for the relationship and it feels out of place compared to everything else. I dont know how far she's going to develope it. I guess we'll find out, wont we!

yes, JKR said in an interview looong ago (back in an tv interview years ago lol) that she already wrote about the future of the remaining characters...hopfully ron will be one of them!

...it would be really terrible to read about rons death in book 7...but JK said that it will be 2 characters she didn´t want to kill in the first place...so he could be one of the charactes that die...this is making me depressed, i´m going to stop this thought right here!

I went out to dinner with some friends last night and we got into a Harry Potter discussion, and we got to talking about Ron and how he's going to end up killing everybody in the end. He's just going to snap and start killing everyone. Starting with Harry.
I laughed really hard at that thought. Of course it's not true, but it certainly is funny to picture Ron just suddenly flipping out and shooting avada kedavra at everyone.

(we also talked about how Dumbledore's brother got in trouble for performing inappropriate charms on a goat. what exactly qualifies as an "inappropriate charm"...especially on a goat )

Hello fellow Ron-lovers! Obviously I LOVE Ron so I want to join this little fan club. My favourite part in the GoF book (which sadly wasn't in the movie) Is just before the first task when Harry throws the 'Potter Really Stinks' badge at Ron's head. I laughed until I cried.

ha, this would be a side that we never saw on ron ( and i´m afraid to say, will never see... ). i think he is the last one who will shoot this curse on someone, even on a death eater.
just imagine he meets malfoy who is insulting him ( like "do you still chare a bedroom with your hole family?!") and ron´s going berserk and starts to use all kinds of hexes and unforgivable curses on him...teehee
i´m going to shut my eyes and visualise this for a moment
but why should he start with harry? how about he finds out that hermione is betraying him with krum, he could start with killing her or him...

i never thought about ron that way...

Ron isn't some nice little sidekick who does what ever harry does! He is his friend and they treat each other like eaqualls. If the books where written from rons perspective his fight sceens would have been left in and not mearly mentioned.poor ron doesnt' get much limelight

i think we all agree that he did brave things ( just remember the game of chess in P/SS !), but he was never in the spotlight like harry was and we all want to see him do something bold (we didn´t want to be in a ron weasley fanclub if we wouldn´t believe in his qualitys!)

You're very true Quidditch Rocks. Ron has done some very brave things throughout the books, but overall his actions don't stand out against Harry's. He is essentially just the "sidekick". I hate to call him that, but it's true.
I'm sure we'll see a much braver and bolder side of Ron in the last book. I see (like we've all said before) him doing some great things to help bring down Voldemort.
