This is NOT a thread to discuss Katie Leung, brat or otherwise. This is to discuss whether or not you think that that girl in the photos might have been a better choice.

It's a little hard to tell personality from a photo, don't you think?

we only have 2 pictures of katie leung and i think it's really hard to tell if she's better than the girl you showed us in the pictures... one might be prettier than the other, but if they can't act or have a bad personality, i think that's more important than their apperance. I think Katie Leung will do a good job since she was picked out of thousands of girls to play the part. I trust the casting directors with Cho's part.

To me, I would allow any girl play Cho Chang (well, to the closest resemblance as how Jo explains her physical appearances). As long as her skill in acting blows me away like Ms. Watson. If the director of the movie thinks she's the perfect Cho, then I think so too ...

Katie Leung seems OK. But I agree with Abdicate, it's the acting that matters most.

It would be cool to play Cho, but to be honest, I'm not that into the book character. She seems a bit... something. Blah.

I've never seen her act. I've never seen an interview of her. Therefore, I have no idea whether Katie Leung will be decent or not.

Although, I'm sure that chick in those pictures is pretty, but she's not British.

it's starting to annoy me that there are only those two photos of katie up on the internet. it's hard to get a really good idea of what she looks like when she's got a hat on and is talking on the phone. i keep checking for more recent pictures, but there aren't any. i just can't picture her as cho yet. i guess i'd have to see her in costume.

Everyone has there "best" or "Someone who looks better" But in the end Its want WB want that stand. I cant see how we can stay if see good or not when we have two pictures of her and there not even or her in role.

Veritaserum news here...The German newspaper Abendblatt is currently reporting that Daniel Radcliffe will kiss Katie Leung (Cho) in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The newspaper quotes Dan as saying, "Katie is very pretty. I can't wait for the kiss." Also, a crew member is quoted: "Harry is grown up. It's already become a little hotter."

This is the second non-canon kiss that has been reported by a foreign newspaper (the other was Krum/Hermione), and - as before - this should not be taken as confirmation.

Do you care that they kiss in this film? I dont mind as long as its not a full blow kiss. Maybe it will just be a sorry that i cant take you to the ball kiss.

There is not gonna be kissed in the GOF, they already said that it was just a rumor.
And besides that Jo rulez everything, they can't put a new scene in the movie without her permission so i don't think that Cho and Harry are gonna kiss in this movie at all.
About that girl who might would be a better Cho, to be honest i think she's lookin to sweet for and too happy for Cho, she's prettier but that's not what its about. From this 2 pictures i saw of Katie i think she's perfect for Cho, i mean of course we would like it more to see a cute girl playin her but to remind : Cho Chang is older, a bit depressed and in the end of the order of the phoenix turns out that she's also a bit of a **. wouldn't it be weird if they took a sweet touch face ? Katie has a serieus and mature look, ok we can't really judge , i mean i haven't see her playin but i don't think that other girl would be a better Cho Chang.

Well, that Philippine actress is Heart E. and i really admire her. I mean i got to admit that she can't be Cho Chang but she'll be great in Cho Chang's looks department. And she's one of the best drama actresses in Philippines so i don't see any reason she can't cry in HP movies. She could speak English fluently since she grew up in the US...but too bad she's not a British citizen and she's not a sporty girl like Cho's character should be...so no Heart E. can't be Cho Chang even though Veritaserum said that she was considered for Cho's role.

To me from what I've seen she seems perfect! She looks exactly how I imagined Cho would look. I just hope the acting doesn't let her down! Since she was picked though from thousands of girls I;'d say she should be pretty good wouldnt you agree?

As I've said before, the casting crew have yet to fail me. I remember when I first heard that David Thewlis and Gary Oldman had been cast as Lupin and Sirius, I was a little dubious. Sure, they were good actors but I just couldn't picture them as the characters ya know? But look at what brilliant jobs they've done!! And by they I don't just mean them the actors, but the styling/costume crew.

I think we all have to give Katie Leung a chance. Let's hold the judgements for now eh? The poor girl...she's not even gone on screen yet and people are already predicting she'd be awful as Cho. And bear in mind, she beat thousands of other girls for the part...meaning she was the best there was. Have faith in the casting crew guys...they know what they're doing.

honestly, people who bash katie leung because she got the part of Cho are just plain jealous. she is pretty. why she reads articles or websites that is full of hatred, i do not know. but someone has got to agree with me that the showbiz world is not a friendly place. especially since she got involved with a project many people are so passionate about. with that said, not all people dislike her. my advice: STOP READING HATEFUL WEBSITES!!!

sorry bout posting a new topic. anyway, i agree with mayann (i think) that heart would look perfect as cho but believe me that she wouldn't be the best actress to consider. besides, the producers and directors would have seen something in katie that is like the character cho.

i think that the girl in the photos would've been much better as Cho, at least physical appearance wise. i don't know how she is as an actress....

I do not think that Heart Evangelista, the girl in the images posted, would be the "perfect" Cho Chang.
Be realistic here, she's not British and she's too old to play her (not to mention she won't be able to master the accent).

As I've said before, out of all the thousands of girls that auditioned, she got the part, so that must count for something. She's obviously the best for the part. Have a lil' faith in the casting people, folks. They are, after all, supposed to be experts in their field.

Hmm, i have a strong inkling that 'Cho Chang' sounds to me like a Chinese name? (sarcasm intended). 'Asian' names, what does that mean? One could distinguish between Vietnamese, Japanese and Filipino names (most of which sound Spanish!). Sorry to digress off topic..

The NZ girl from Australia's 'Neighbours' show also auditioned but face it, as if her or Heart were ever really going to get the part? Look, once we've all seen Katie in the GoF movie, then you can launch into a scathing diatribe about her as Cho if she really doesn't float your boat.

I agree Ashleigh07, the casting directors have been spot on so far, i resign my full trust to their capable hands. The actors in the films - i couldn't think of anybody better, they're perrrrfect.

I dont' think she(her on the pictures) looks like a better Cho than Katie Leung. I think Katie fits better like Cho, can't really axplain why but, just saying my mind.

Well, yes, Heart is very pretty......... but apparently she's not very nice and quite snotty.

If it's true, I'm disappointed that such beauty can go to someone who doesn't deserve it.

And by the way, no, Heart isn't playing Cho, because they're already filming GoF and Katie is definitely cast as her. Besides, Heart isn't even British, which is basically the factor that determines whether or not you're eligible for the role.

Does it matter? Heart looks all plasticised and caked in make-up; I'm more interested in how Katie will play the role of Cho.

There are over 4000 Asian girls reside in UK and attended the audition! I believe those casting members 'eyes were blurred to see too many auditioners. If allowed non-UK-residents such as Heart or Mechelle Ang or .....London would be the crowdest city in the world and list....record(I forgot the name).
It's pointless to go on suggest "I think this girl is better Cho Chang....".

Yeah, maybe, she's beautiful but I don't find her really good in acting. Heart can act, I admit, but GoF is an international movie. She's actually a VJ in a music television show here in the Philippines and I'm so sorry again but I can't understand what she is saying when she's speaking in English. As if she is eating her words. No offense meant to her fans but just be thankful that it is not Heart. I talked to a fellow Filipina through CoS, who's working in her network channel, told me that she's sort of primadonna. If you'll go in the thread in CoS wherein the Filipinos are gathering there, you'll see that they're not in favor for Heart to be Cho. lawks_fuster, I advise you to visit that site and I'm so sorry if you're offended. I really want a fellow Filipino/Filipina to be on the big sceen with the big artists but if it will just ruin the image of Pinoy artists (that they can't act), why would you like that? I agree that what's important is the acting skills.
