Wonderful!!

It's on again over here!!
Before anything, a small thank you note to
etphonehome here. Thanks for clarifying my worries about the double post rule. I really dont like breaking rules and annoying people who sweat it out to keep this place happily going on. Thank you and keep the good work going!
My Boy Jack was aired on The History Channel on the 20th of march, and I couldn't watch it. Some or the other errand comes up for me when I plan to watch a movie!!! ALWAYS!! *couldn't avoid the shouting there*

Again a thanks to etphonehome for the small review. I know it's a fabulous movie, I've watched the trailers and all. I'll surely catch it next time it's aired.
Well about the dating Dan/Harry thing, I'm not that old to not date teenagers

.I just turned 20, so I'd like to keep that feeling for sometime that I'm no more a teenager and..ahem...grown up or something

But, ok I'd prefer to date Harry the character and not Dan. I got to know Dan because of Harry, so it means I knew Harry before Dan. Harry should get that benifit

Ahhhh
etphonehome thank you for the description of
My Boy Jack I'm in Canada so I haven't seen it play yet! I certainly hope to soon
Welcome to all the new members! Thanks for keeping the topic alive while I'm the busiest I've been with university
Thank you for posting that pic
WEASLETTE...GINNY POTTER I had seen it before but I definitely didn't mind seeing it again
Anyways I definitely set a goal for myself to see every movie Dan is in and to endlessly gaze at every picture of him

Hi all,
It's high time we had a question running here with some articulate answers.
Ok, I'd like to post one here...
This is a post DH question!!!
Q. Harry does not destroy a single horcrux in the seventh book. It was done either by Ron, or Hermione, or a fire by Crabbe and Neville. Also, he doesn't even use the death curse (which is of course good)
. The only privilege he gets is the expelliarmus to do on LV towards the end.
How is this justified in Harry's stride, considering he was the hero!Waiting for your posts guys...

Harry does destroy a Horcrux...he walks right to Voldemort and surrenders his life. Therefore killing the horcux inside him that Voldy didn't even know about. To me..that takes a lot more courage and strength to be willing to die and not fight back. And I thinks it's good that Ron, Hermione, Neville and that fire got rid of horcruxes. Those characters deserve a bit of heroism too. They have been through a lot with Harry. But I think Harry destroyed the most important horcrux. Without the one inside him gone...Voldy wouldn't have been able to die.
I think it's awesome how he didn't have to use the death curse. We know that when you kill someone it's the ultimate way of destroying your soul..ripping it in two. The fact that Harry's soul stays perfectly intact after 7 years of hell is amazing! I think using expelliarmus against voldy was brilliant. Voldemort was so naive and didn't listen to what Harry was telling him. Expelliarmus is Harry's signature move...even though Lupin warned him to not let it be.
I still think Harry is a hero. He did a lot of brave things in 7 years that proves that! And it just goes to show you that to be a hero you have to do the right thing...not the easy thing. I think I recall DD saying something like that in GOF..at the end. It would have been easy to curse bellatrix...Harry had the chance and didn't. He had the chance to curse and kill quite a few people including Voldemort and he chose not to stoop down to their level. You can always have more than one hero..and Harry being the biggest hero...I think everyone who stood up to ole Voldy is a hero.

Apr 12 2008, 07:25 PM
I wholeheartedly agree with you
Hermione17 Harry destroyed the most important horcrux of all...the part of Voldy that lived inside him! I think that was the most important one because Voldy was not aware of it nor was anyone else save Dd and Harry. No matter if all the other Horcruxes would have been destroyed and Voldy too he could have come back cause of the one inside Harry!
That being said, I am happy that the others got to destroy some of the hurcruxes. Well deserved and fitting but they wouldn't have even found most of them without Harry in the first place! So to me Harry is the ultimate hero in the 7th book.. even more than I felt he was before in all the other books! He acted nobly and with honor in the final battle with Voldy

So I have a few new questions that I've been wanting to know....
If Harry never liked Ginny, who do you think he would've married? Would he have married at all?and...

HI, am new.
If Harry never liked Ginny, who do you think he would've married? Would he have married at all?If Harry hadnt liked Ginny, then I guess it would be Luna he would have married. Harry liked her and cared about her. In HBP in Hogwards express when Demelza pointed to Neville and Luna and suggested that surely he wouldnt want to sit with them, Harry coldly replied that they were his friends... This shows that Harry prefered Luna. I cant think that Harry would ever go back to Cho, he had had enough of her.
Through Harry's years at Hogwarts, what do you think was his most embarrasing moment? His saddest? Scariest? His most embarrasing would be to ask Cho out and to have to dnce with Parvati...
His scarriest, I think would be when Ron was posioned... and saddess, again when Ron stopped talking to him in GOF..

If Harry never liked Ginny, who do you think he would've married? Would he have married at all?See this is hard for me cause I truly believe in Harry and Ginny

but I guess if I have to

here goes! I think Harry would have ended up with Luna like
Radcliffefreek said. They both shared a connection i.m.o and I really enjoyed how they were together. I definitely think Harry would have married regardless
Through Harry's years at Hogwarts, what do you think was his most embarrassing moment? His saddest? Scariest?
Most embarrassing would have to be asking Cho to the dance when she had a date...or fainting after seeing a Dementor ( just cause Malfoy told everyone)
Saddest : the death of Sirius and/or Dumbledore

Saddest for me too thats for sure and I do believe the worst losses Harry has suffered
while at Hogwarts.
Scariest : all I have to say is ''Into the Forest Again''

Ahhhh... I'm really obsessed with that one. A close second would have to be when he sees Voldy come into form for the first time in GOF...must really be like a nightmare come to life.
LOVE the questions and intelligent answers guys! Keep them coming
edit : is anyone else completely excited about the new HBP pics of Harry....he looks sooo mature and grown and really yummy

Holy cow this place doesn't have a pulse! And I haven't been here for ages!
guess I'll answer my own questions then!
If Harry never liked Ginny, who do you think he would've married? Would he have married at all?
Well, like two of you said, Luna would be okay, but I think they would make better friends then actual...partners. Personally, I think he should have married Hermione, but since she was taken by Ron...I'm guessing he would've found someone totally random, like Parvati, and married her, because he might have ended up liking her if they got to really talk, who knows? Either that or he wouldn't have married.
Through Harry's years at Hogwarts, what do you think was his most embarrassing moment? His saddest? Scariest?
His most embarrassing I'm going to have to agree with all of you with the whole asking out Cho thing and even his DATE with her in the fifth, that was harsh! For me of course, it would be in the fourth where they wore those Potter sucks pins and supported Cedric, but for some reason Harry didn't seem to mind it too much.
Saddest, I'm going to have to say all of those deaths...poor Harry. He had to deal with a lot! Probably Dumbledore and Sirius were the saddest, I cried in both those deaths!
Scariest...wow sooo many! The forest thing where he was going to die, meeting Voldemort in the second and fourth and first, the FIFTH, wow all of those dreams and Voldemort possessing him, his life was just full of scary!
Hey welcome new people!

well hello everyone like i said that i would be back

well i see some questions i must have missed when i first came here let me give them a shot
If Harry never liked Ginny, who do you think he would've married? Would he have married at all?Hmmm thats a toughie i'd say , I mean probably Luna since they both connect in so many ways but at the same time just because they understand eachother on ceartain bases do you really think they would mesh? I mean they might not really go together , that's my opinion , but all in all if he never liked ginny, regardless he would end marrying but it might be possible that it can be to someone else that he met after hogwarts who knows.
Through Harry's years at Hogwarts, what do you think was his most embarrasing moment? His saddest? Scariest? His most embarassing would be.... gosh he's had quite a few lol maybe asking cho to the dance or the dementor attack in his 3rd year or I'm sure theres more that i cant remember at the moment
Saddest had to be when sirius died right in front of him or dumbledore
Scariest would be & disregard the fact that he knew he had to because at the end he was scared i would say in the 7th book when he had to go & face voldemort face to face & thinking that he had to die. thats terrible :/

If Harry never liked Ginny, who do you think he would've married? Would he have married at all?
I guess he probably would have married Luna because they have a very good friendship. I don't think he would have married Cho because she was older than him adn she was always crying all the time.
Through Harry's years at Hogwarts, what do you think was his most embarrasing moment? His saddest? Scariest?
The most embarrassing moment was when he asked Cho to the Yule Ball.
The saddest would have to be in DH when he was in the forest and he used the ressurrection stone to bring back Lily, James, Lupin, and Sirius and he told them "I never wanted you to die" and when he asked them, "will you stay with me?" And they replied, "until the very end". That part made me cry.
The scariest would have to be when he went to the forest to let Voldemort kill him.

Hey guys! This isn't really a question, I'm just putting it out there, but I heard on like, a show or something (I can't remember) that JK said that she made the ending of the seventh book first, before she did anything else, and in that Harry was supposed to die (thank god she changed her mind). I'm just wondering, in the origional ending would she have ended the book when LV said the killing curse, and then just did an epilogue? Or do you think she changed some things around? And how would the epilogue be anyway? LV going full force? If Harry wasn't there...the wizarding world would have died!
Just curious!

interesting question ! i would have never thought that , but wow hmmm. i don't think that she would have ended right away with him saying the killing curse & thats it. i think that she would have had him dead & it goes on talking about how many years & finally he did, like a victory speech of some sort. & then maybe he would have finished off any one associated with him & someone actually escaped who knows. thats just a thought thank God he didn't die (: so yea im pretty sure that she changed alot of things around to make the story fit if she wrote the ending before anything. but was it written before the 7th book or 1st? any who ... would there have been an epilogue? yes . i'm pretty sure there would have been. probably talking about years later how the wizarding world is doing . the thing is that i cant really think about it because evil always comes to an end. & if voldemort survived & harry didnt the public not only would have been extremely mad but then she would have had to creat another "harry potter"

I think that if Harry died it would have been when he was in the forest. Since JKR didn't want to kill Harry she probably added the Kings Cross, and everything after that. I think that if Harry died, Voldemort would have died too. I don't think Voldemort would have beat Harry, Harry would have had to sacrifice himself to get rid of Voldy. I don't think it would have ended with LV saying the killing curse, I think their would have been an epilogue and we would see what would have happened to Ron, Hermione, and the rest of the wizarding world.

Hey guys, just wondering if I could join?? And I wanted to contribute to the thread so here it goes.
If Harry never liked Ginny, who do you think he would've married? Would he have married at all?
Personally I'm a huge H/Hr shipper so my answer will be very bias and I'm going to say Hermione Granger. I think that they would be a great couple and that's all I'm gonna say about it so that I don't upset anyone. But besides her, I think he would have found someone but it would've been a while and it would be a long proccess to get her up to speed, etc. However, I could see him possibly dating Luna at some point in time....
Through Harry's years at Hogwarts, what do you think was his most embarrasing moment? His saddest? Scariest?
I think his most embarassing moment was asking Cho out to the Yule Ball or Ginny's Valentine singing card.
His saddest would be when Sirius and/or Dumbledore died. They were both like parents and definitely were the hardest to lose for him.
Scariest...to be honest. It probably was during DH when he realized he was without Dumbledore and had no one to turn to in that sense. He probably felt so alone and scared.

If Harry never liked Ginny, who do you think he would've married? Would he have married at all?
I think I would have to agree with a few people on here and say Luna. They have a lot in common and seem to understand each other. They are both outcasts, lost their moms, can see threstrals, etc... I always thought harry and Hermione made a great match, but after reading the connection with Hermione and Ron I think Luna is better suited for Harry...if Ginny wasn't isn't in the picture that is.
Through Harry's years at Hogwarts, what do you think was his most embarrassing moment? His saddest? Scariest?
Embarrassing moment: When Harry walked into the Great Hall with Snape in HBP. His nose was broken until Tonks fixed it, there was blood all over his face and Malfoy was reenacting the scene on the train when he jumped Harry to all the Slytherins. It didn't take long for the story to circulate.
Scariest: Watching Sirius get tortured in his head by Voldy at the Dept. of Mysteries. Among so many others
Saddest: Losing Sirius and Dumbledore, and giving up Ginny right after Dumbledore died.

Hey Im new! I love Daniel Radcliffe. Kinda had to grow out of it a bit cus Im older... though we are the same age! me and him. and he is older then me by a few months! lol.
If Harry never liked Ginny, who do you think he would've married? Would he have married at all? It's kind of hard to imagine him without ginny now. but i think it would have been neat to see him with Luna. lol. somehow they just kind of mesh. though she is super dorky! lol.
Through Harry's years at Hogwarts, what do you think was his most embarrassing moment? His saddest? Scariest? I dont know. I think it is kind of embarassing to have moaning myrtle fawning over you all the time. and when he is in the prefects bathroom! Though to be honest I would have loved to be her! To see Dan! lol.

But that is embarassing to me.
The saddest of course is when Dumbledore dies!
Scariest to me is probably going to meet Voldemort. It is like walking to your death but it is so brave.

Hey guys! I'd love to join this thread! I am a big Harry/Dan fan!!
As for the questions:
If Harry never liked Ginny, who do you think he would've married? Would he have married at all?
Wow! I guess since Hermione is already taken, I'd have to agree and say Luna. He seemed to really develop a liking for Luna. I know that she was a little quirky, but who isn't. I love Luna.
Through Harry's years at Hogwarts, what do you think was his most embarrassing moment? His saddest? Scariest?
I'd say one of his embarrassing moments was when Neville poked the plant that he had and it squirted that gross juice all of him, and Cho walked in. Oops..
Saddest moment would have to be when Dumbledore died. He couldn't do anything, he was just frozen and had to sit back and watch. Of course Sirius' death. That really took a toll on him.
Scariest moment would have to be when he was watching Ginny and the rest of his friends fighting in DH and being afraid that they were going to die.

The Slughorn/Harry picture is a hoot. I love the graduation hat! He is probably wearing it in reference to one of his many accomplishments. You know how he loves to show off. I agree that this pic is probably when he gave him the felix felicis after class. But you know how they change things in the movies, he could be giving him his memory of Riddle. Although, he doesn't look too drunk. I hope they leave the part where Slughorn and Hagrid sing. I bet that will be pretty funny.

So here's a new question for HP-CO...
We all know, and if you don't here's your chance to catch up, that in HBP, Ginny ties Harry's shoelace to get a moment alone with him. So that's not the most romantic thing that could happen, but what about those romantic getaways and scenes between Harry and Ginny? Or should I say Dan and Bonnie?
Will they be able to deliver the chemistry needed to convince the audience that they are in love? What do you guys think?

It's really hard for me too say becuase all the on screen time they have had, I never truly felt that Ginny Harry chemistry. I mean I never felt it in the books becuase well I'm all anti H/G sorry. But I still don't sense anything. I mean I just see them smile at one another but I don't know it's just not there. That's me personally.

nicky potter, I'm not a H/G shipper either. In fact, I'm a H/Hr shipper...you know, the forbbiden one

.
But yeah, I've never really seen any on camera chemistry between the two actors so it'll be very interesting to see what they do. I think it'll be a real test of their acting skills. if Dan is really worth 50 million dollars, then he should be able to pull it off.

Haha the forbidden love. I am a H/R shipper but that's another story. So yes umm, I have seen pictures where there is Harry and Ginny and I have to be honest I'm not feeling it. It's as if there is no understanding of how the "love" is suppose to be shown you know? And it's not all Dan either, we also have to see how Miss Bonnie pulls off the "biggest" couples. I feel like when watching it I'm just going to be staring at the screen, my eyebrows pulling together in distress wondering where's the chemistry?! Lol although I don't approve of the ship, I still want the chemistry to be there becuase it really would be living up to the book. I still remember reading HBP for the first time, the ship hit me, in a small way, but this is one of the most anticipated HP films [asides from the 7th]. So yep it would be interesting to see this. Will it go sour or will they hit right on the nail? We only have 119 days to find out

Ugh don't remind me...the movie is so far away. But I've just thoguht of a question dealing with Harry Potter...
What do you think about him being called the Chosen One? Why, in your opinion is he called 'The Chose One'? Is it because he is a horcrux, and therefor must be killed in order for it to be possible to kill Lord Voldemort? Or do you think he is called the 'CO' because he has to be the one to kill Lord Voldemort? Or a combination of both or a different reason?
I think that the name 'Chosen One' is most befitting because he has to die for Lord Voldemort to be killed. No one else can take Lord Voldemort's soul out of Harry, put it in themselves and die. But others can kill Voldemort once Harry's horcrux is out of the way.

I think that the reasons why other people think he is considered the chosen one are different from the real reasons. Relatively close, but not the same. He is considered the chosen one for being the only one to ever survive from him and the killing curse and so they ultimatley think that he is the only one that can stop, thinking that he can't die and that he can do it again. Some probably do think like that. The obvious reason why he is the chosen one is becuase he is the one that of course voldemort wants, he survived, and the prophecy. And also this unusual connection between them. Obviously he had to kill voldemort. I mean he was a horcrux himself he needed to die before Voldemort does. Harry didn't necassarily needed to kill him personally that's just a thought that he always had. He just needed to die and return like he did in the 7th book. Pretty much anyone could've killed him after, but it just seemed right that Harry did it.

im very anxious to see bonnie actually act. we dont see her much i was watching the fourth movie yesterday and the only real time she had a part was when they were picking on ron about his dress robes. But you know we never really saw it in the books either until HBP but rowling would always hint at the different boyfriends that ginny had. so i dont know... i hope she does well for daniel and the movies sake!
I think he was the chosen one because if you remember voldemort choose the one most equal to him. he didnt choose neville cus i think he was pureblood right? i dont know. i think it was because he probably felt that was the only option. but they do say that he picked his equal. so... something to think about.

Voldemort did mark Harry as his equal, so that was my first thought as well. But then I realized that the wizarding world didn't know that. So I think that they called him the Chosen One because he's escaped Lord Voldemort so many times and beacuse he survived his killing curse.
And I think it is most befitting because Harry is has to die for Voldemort to be killed.

ok i see what you were saying. i guess the wizarding world thought he had to be becuase of all the stuff that happened with him and voldemort. but yeah i totally agree. Him having to die so voldemort could die is a very good lesson that occured in the book. self sacrifice.

Calling Harry the chosen one...just fits. Voldy chose him that night when the Potters died and Harry survived. But everyone that called Harry the "Chosen One" didn't know about the prophecy. I think Harry received that nickname because he survived the killing curse when he was a baby, and EVERY year at Hogwarts Harry is the one that fought Voldy and ultimately won every battle. He was the only one to defeat voldy multiple times. I'd call him the chosen one too.

I have another question that I was talking about it in another thread.
Do you think that Harry should have been in Gryffindor or in Slytherin? Now please keep an open mind when asnwering, I know some may not like the Slytherins that we have read but be open. And remember Harry could've simply ask Slytherin and everything could have been different..

No I don't think Harry should have been in Slytherin. We have proof of that right before the ceremony when Draco tries to recruit Harry to his friends, insults Ron and Harry sticks up for himself and Ron by refusing Draco's offer. This shows that his ambitions and standards in life are much different than a Slytherin's. Also, he supports muggleborns and equality. This is definitely not a typical Slytherin. The only thing that really tied Harry to Slytherin was of course LV, and his thirst to prove himself and his decent mind.
But on the whole, Harry was a true Gryffindor because of where his morals lie.

I have to agree with what Nick said. Harry is cunning like Slytherin, but he is also brave and courageous. And lets not forget that his parents were in Gryffindor. The fact that Harry asked the hat to put him in Gryffindor says alot. That right there does not make him a Slytherin. Besides...Harry had a piece of voldy's soul inside him...how do we know that the hat wasn't just picking up on that when it said Harry would do well in Slytherin?

ok wow! I love all the new intelligent questions! First off let me start by saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY to HARRY POTTER who in the books turns the same age as *me* today...28!

Ahhh that adds to all my fantasies about Mr Potter...
Anyways here goes:

Or do you think he is called the 'CO' because he has to be the one to kill Lord Voldemort? Or a combination of both or a different reason? I totally 100% agree with

I think that the name 'Chosen One' is most befitting because he has to die for Lord Voldemort to be killed. No one else can take Lord Voldemort's soul out of Harry, put it in themselves and die.
I couldnt have said it better! Harry is the chosen one for all those reasons...cause Voldy chose him but also because he has to sacrifice himself and he knows this and he does this...I think he more than deserves the title if only for that!
Do you think that Harry should have been in Gryffindor or in Slytherin?I think Harry was only considered for Slytherin cause the Sorting Hat could sense Voldy in Harry...the part of his soul in Harry... seeing as after the part of Voldy was gone Harry couldnt speak Parselmouth (sp?) I think he truly belonged in Gryffindor because of his choices : like someone said choosing to be friends with Ron and not aligning with Draco!
But I do think that even if he had been in Slytherin it wouldnt have changed much...it wouldnt have pulled him to the dark arts!

The only reason the Sorting Hat wanted to put Harry in Slytherin was because it saw the part of Voldemort's soul in Harry, and that part had definite Slytherin characteristics. If Voldemort had never tried to kill Harry, the Sorting Hat would have definitely put him in Gryffindor. Harry's own soul was pure and embodied many Gryffindor characteristics (loyalty to friends and bravery-which he proved when he stood up for Ron to Malfoy). Voldy's soul was the only reason the Sorting Hat wanted to put him in Slytherin.

So, I have a question for all you wonderful HP lovers out there. In the 7th book, I came across a contradiction that disturbed me. JKR's writing has always been, in my opinion, perfect; but there was something she wrote about Hermione that upset me. Here's what it was: Hermione tells Harry that she "modified" her parents memories so that they assumed aliases and moved to Australia. Then, when Harry, Ron and Hermione were in the cafe on Tottenham Court Road, and they had stunned the Death Eaters, Harry asks Hermione if she's ever done a memory charm, and she says no. She says something to the effect that she knew the theory well enough to do one. So, here's my question:
Was that an error on JKR's part? Or, did Hermione possibly perform some other spell to fix her parents memories?

If I am not mistaken
gryffindorgirl24 I think that question is more fitted to be in the Unoffcial Hermione Fanclub

It seems more appropriate since here is about Harry.

but that is a good question. I forgot about that
