Hello, authors and readers! I have a couple of very exciting additions to announce to our fanfiction area.
Announcement 1
The first is the addition of fanfiction categories. We now have subforums with the names of major fanfiction character where you may place your fanfictions. Our subforums are:
"Hermione and Ron", "Harry", "Snape", "Draco", "Marauders and Lily", "Other Students", "Other Adults" and " Future Generations" and "Original Characters".
This should cover most characters, and I am sorry that we can't accommodate each character with their own subforum, but I had to pick the most common main characters.
Please place your fanfiction in the category that best represents your main character. The category of "Hermione and Ron" does not reflect the SHIP of HG/RW, so any fanfictions with the main character of either Ron or Hermione should be placed in that category.
In the subheading for your topic, list the main character's name, or if it is an original character, please make that known. This allows for easier classification and for easier searching.
Over the next few weeks, the staffing team will be working to place the existing fics that are in progress into these subcategories, so please have patience with us. It will take a bit of work. Please check for your fanfiction in the appropriate subforum.
The Fanfiction Masterlist in the fanfiction archives will be a bit more difficult to rearrange because of the vast number of fics already within the archives. We will be adding the subforums to the archives to make searching a bit easier, but please don't expect that anytime soon.
Please make sure you place your fic in the proper category to begin with as the mods are not here just to shuffle your fics into their proper category once you have posted.
Please keep from posting any fics in the general Fanfiction Forum now that there are sufficient categories.
Announcement 2
I am very pleased to announce the edition of the "Featured Fanfiction of the Month" to our fanfiction forums! Every month, a new fanfiction will be featured with a link and a place to leave feedback! If your story has been chosen, you will receive a PM with any further instructions as well as the notification. We have a "Fanfiction Panel" that is already in place who are in charge of reviewing fics and determining which fics will be featured. Please do not PM me to be on this panel. Also, the names of the panel members are being kept anonymous to keep them from being bombarded with requests to feature members fanfictions. The Featured Fanfiction has some very strict criteria to follow as far as quality, punctuation, and grammar; but we are planning to feature many different types of fics with many different characters and styles. These fics will range from completed to one shots to works in progress, so rest assured that if you're fic is on the boards, it will be reviewed within due time.
I am really looking forward to these changes, and I hope the rest of you are as well! Thank you for your dedication to the fanfictions on the VTM forums!
