Personally I think the simplicity of Harry's defeat over Voldemort in book 7 is the best. JKR could have made that such a complicated issue, but in the end, love won over and with a simple spell because Voldemort had, to quote Hermione, 'the emotional range of a teaspoon'!

I liked the duel between Crabbe, Goyle, Malfoy, Harry, Ron and Hermione. I really liked how Crabbe turned against Malfoy (but that turned out to be pretty bad) and set off that weird fire thingie. It was a pretty impressive thing to put in, barely of age wizards performing spells like that. Too bad Crabbe died though... I always thought he was too stupid to die. The battle between Mrs. Weasley and Bellatrix was funny. It shouldn't have been, but it was. Mrs. Weasley had shouted at Bellatrix "Not my daughter you *beep!*" and started to attack her. I was pretty surprised when she killed Bellatrix. I never thought she would have the nerve to do it!

I really liked the one between Dumbledore and Voldemort at the end of OotP, but it was mostly because finally Dumbledore showed us in actions how really powerful he is, and why Voldemort was afraid of him. It was said lots of times before, but until that point we never really got a chance to know it.

I had to say dd/voldy in book 5. Mainly because that fight has some extremely impressive magic. However the harry/voldy fight in book 7 was awesome too...

I would have to say the scene in book six. I just loved how it was such a dramatic and intense moment for the series. Everyone is fighting their hearts out for the sakes of the school while the death eaters kill Dumbledore. I loved the scene of Harry chasing after Snape and eventually finding out the true identity of the Half-Blood Prince.

That is just a magical experience in the books.

Well I prefered the duel at the end of OotP cos it lasted much longer, there was more going on and there were more characters too. I loved all the little mini-battles going on, I think it made it a lot more dramatic and just the fact that the whole book was building up to this battle, I thought was great!

My favorite had to be the duel between Molly Weasley and Bellatrix. It was so intense!!! Fred's death really pushed Molly over the edge. I never expected Mrs. Weasley to kill someone, even a Death Eater like Bellatrix. Well, all the battles in the HP series are pretty awesome, but Bellatrix vs. Molly was in my opinion the best.

i think that is really awesome, and in the movie they did it well.

The one between Harry and Crazy V after the maze in GoF because it is what sets up the last 3 books. Without it, we wouldn't have an OotP, HBP or DH, and they were significant books in the series (obviously). It was also done so well, and it lets us delve a little into what Voldy's done. It was very important!

I couldn't choose Harry vs. Voldemort on any level, because I don't really class them as duels for some reason. Both times they've come one-to-one against each other, Harry's fired Expelliarmus and Voldemort's fired the Killing Curse...and it's just really one spell a piece. It's like say, me and a guy throwing one punch each at the other and calling it a brawl, I imagine.

I quite like the duel between The Order and the Death Eaters in the movie of Order Of The Phoenix, but for a book duel I'd probably have to say Minerva vs. Severus in Deathly Hallows.
As a written thing, I think the visual of it would rival the magic used between Dumbledore and Voldemort at the end of movie five. I'd really like to see Minerva properly duel, I think she's second only to Dumbledore and has some pretty sweet spells up those sleeves. But having said that, we know from Half-Blood Prince that Severus has modified his own spells to be pretty vicious and I'm sure he could just improvise on them in the heat of the battle, so I won't say whose magic or ingenuity I'd be cheering for.

I think the duel between voldemort and dumbledore at the end of book 5 was pretty wicked. We got to see a taste of Dumbledore's power. I especially liked the way the scene was played out in the movie. They used a lot of cool special effects.

My fav fight scene is the whole second war. If I can only vote once it's not really worth it. The second war is a long fight scene, but it's totally worth it.

I voted for the Harry and Voldemort duel in book seven because it was absolutely awesome! I loved it...haha, old Voldie was so ignorant... I also loved the Molly and Bellatrix duel but the H and V duel was my favorite.

My favorite duel scene would have to be the fight between Bellatrix Lestrange and Molly Weasley. I love the beginning where Ginny was inches away from death, and then all is silent as Molly takes over the fight. The stakes would be very high if either of them lost, and I think that the duel was a definite strike against Voldemort that was incredibly important.

My favorite fight/battle scene would have to be Harry VS Voldemort, Book Seven.

It is the most crucial fight yet. Harry is not afraid, and Voldemort is at his most powerful.

Harry proves that the good guy can win, which is a moral that everyone needs to understand.

I chose other. I think the best fight scene was in The Deathly Halls, right after Neville got the sword out of the sorting hat and snuffed Nagini. Then everyone started going crazy.

i chose the scene with harry & voldemort in book 7 because there for some reason has more meaning than the one in book 4 . because yes he could have died in book 4 but we all knew it wasnt going to happen . on the other hand the one in book 7 was really one cannot live while the other survives thing . which probably had alot of us like worried lol but um yea & there was another battle that wasnt mentioned 2 actually .. what about the battle between the order/D.A & the death eaters in book 5? or the battle at hogwarts ? the whole thing itself ? i thought those were AMAZING battles as well which are another favorite of mine (:

I haven't read all of the replies, but I think I'm the only one who is going to say this.

First off, I said neither. I think the best duel/fight was between Dumbledore/Malfoy/Snape. Some could disagree and say that it wasn't a duel or a fight, but in my eyes it was. It may not have been a blood-boiling, sitting on the edge of your seat battle, but inwards it was. Dumbledore knew he was going to die, Malfoy knew he had to do it, Snape knew that Dumbledore wanted to be killed. It was such an emotional scene to me, between Malfoy acually being human and backing down, to Dumbledore simply telling Snape to kill him. I've always trusted Snape, and I knew that watching one of his mentors be killed at his expense was mortifying to him.
So, I think the best fight was the one ontop the tower, and I cannot wait to see it in November when the movie hits theaters in the United States, because I'm seeing the first possible showing I can get tickets for.

I personally think that the duel between Harry and Voldemort is the most important=best. It is by far the most important duel in the series just because it is when Voldemort finally gets finished. But I am really looking forward to the talk during the duel. I can't wait to see Harry clear Snape's name as a death eater, take about draco, and then talk about his sacrifice and how it effects Voldemorts spells. Finally when he asks him to show some remorse and Voldemort relizes that Harry ahs read the same book he did, that'll be the best.

Molly and Bellatrix! I haven't seen Molly like that before but I think we all knew she had it in her! Bellatrix obviously thought "Oh lord, another amateur, perhaps I should let her think she can win so she can hit me with her best shot and then I will pull the old switcheroo! Hahaha look at that lame mudblo--- AHHHHHHHHHH SHE'S GOT ME!!" I'll bet so! And Molly thought, "Oh how I hate that thing!" (with a few um..... extra words thrown in.....

My favorite would have to be the last battle between Harry and Voldemort. I like it because that's when Voldemort finds out the truth about everything, and because Harry makes Voldemort angry by calling him Riddle and telling him to feel remorse.

My second favorite would have to be the battle between Molly and Bellatrix. It was very funny when Molly said that word to Bellatrix. I wish I could have voted for both since it was very hard for me to decide, but in the end, I chose Harry vs. Voldemort.

Well, as a whole when looking at the most awe-inspiring and action-packed, I'd have to say the point from which Neville pulls the sword out of the Hat and all those other people start showing up and fighting the Death Eaters. I had tears in my eyes when I read the part where family members of those fighting, the centaurs, the thestrals and Buckbeak, Grawp, Slughorn, and everyone else started swarming the scene. And Neville killing Nagini was great.

Not to mention, which really turned the water-works on, was when the house-elves came bursting out of the kitchen with Kreacher at the lead. Priceless!

But if I was to choose one particular battle, one-on-one, I'd have to say Voldemort vs Dumbledore. It was the most action-packed scene with magic at its finest. Two extremely gifted wizards battling it out. Of course, having seen it in the movie makes it all the better. I'm sure that once DH comes out and I see their representation of the battles, I might change my mind.

I voted for the battle between Voldermot and Harry in book 7. I loved the way Harry confused Voldemort with the Elder Wand stuff and everything. I also do like the Bellatrix/Molly Weasley fight. Bellatrix deserved that!

I definately agree with the Molly vs Bellatrix also just because i would never have thought of her to be in a duel trying to kill someone. And definately Harry vs Voldy at the end. I loved how Harry called him Riddle and showed that he had no fear, and that he knew he was going to win.

I thought the last duel between harry and Voldy was the BEST. One of my favourite parts of the book. A bit sad that Voldy died, kinda liked him, I did NOT like Harry but it was still an amazing chapter. Probably my favourit chapter in the series. All the truths that Harry had been keeping from Voldy finally got revealed, ("AS the muggles say "The truth will out"") He had the nerve to start calling Voldy Riddle which clearly annoyed him. Plus you get to see Voldy do his insane laugh!! Well you don't see it but i see it in my head. The only bit in the entire chapter was the part where Nagini died poor Nagini may she reast in peace. All thanks to STUPID NEVILLE. Sometimes i feel that Neville is nearly as bad as Harry.

My favourite duel/fight scene in the series were all the major fighting scenes at the end of Book 7.

It may sound strange, but my fave was the duel between Harry and Malfoy where Harry uses Sectumsempra, because although it's short, it shows malfoy's weaknesses and Harry's inability to hurt even the people he hates.

I liked 2 of the scenes the best, I totally LOVED Molly Weasely v. Bellatrix Lestrange, that PWNED like crazy. Especially Molly XDDDD

I also liked the scene with harry and the Basilisk in Bopok 2 (bit sad the Basilisk died though)

my favorite fight scene is in the DoM in book 5 between the DA and the death eaters. Running through the DoM fighting of evil and all those different rooms. It was such a great setting for a fight and I feel like it really showed that the death eaters werent messing around since the kids got so hurt. and it showed that the kids could hold there own against the death eaters. after everything they went through at hogwarts their training really paid off.

I think it's pretty obvious that it would be the final fight scene. All 7 books lead up to this moment when Harry and Voldemort finally meet for the last time. It's the most important duel.

Dumbledore vs. Voldemort was the best Duel in the series. The two greatest wizards in the world dueling is definitely the biggest, most thrilling thing anyone could imagine. Most people would say that Harry vs. Voldemort is the best Duel, but that's only because it has been anticipated from the very beginning of the story; it was the end-all battle.

I would have said Dumbledore/Voldemort OotP but somehow Harry/Voldemort GoF seemed more dramatic, more... powerful. I think this is partly because Harry was so much less experienced than Dumbledore but there he 'showed bravery beyond anything (Dumbledore) could have imagined' although, film-wise, Dumbledore/Voldemort OotP is definately spectacular. It's a beautiful scene, captivating and really reinforcing JK's message that love always triumphs. This is also the case for the GoF scene, however, as it is the love between Harry and his parents which helps Harry make his escape from Voldemort in the graveyard.

Molly vs Bella works for me...

Order of the Phoenix vs Death Eaters in Half-Blood Prince but I like all of the battles really...I think, love the ones in Deathly Hallows But I don't like who dies !

Wow, there are so many dueling and fight scenes to choose from. After just finishing reading deathly hallows again, I think that the Malfoy's Manor fight will be extremely high paced, and very emotional. I think Hermione being tortured and Dobby being killed will make the scene very moving and emotional. I am also on the bright side looking forward to the action of that scene where harry cast a stunning spell with the three wands and blast Frenrir of the ground. I just think that will be a very intense scene. I am also looking forward to the end of HBP where harry is running through the corridors after Snape should also be a great bit of action.

i love the fight between harry and voldemort before voldemort meets his death. the suspense was killing me when i was reading it for the first time and i was even skipping some paragraphs to get to the part where harry says expelliarmus! the fight must've been very appealing to all readers since it, of course, takes place as harry and voldemort moving around in a slow circle getting ready to attack. then voldemort's spell hits harry's spell and voldemort gets rebounded from the curse and is finally killed. "the flaw in the plan" in DH was definitely my favorite chapter of it all!

I'd have to say Molly Weasley vs. Bellatrix Lestrange from Book 7. Mrs. Weasley, the hard-working house-wife, always has dinner on the table when Mr. Weasley gets home, raises her children, etc. You would never expect she has that much rage inside of her, even calling her a Bi**h during the duel.

I have to admit that it is the first time the two trios actually have a duel with each other. Harry, Ron, and Hermione always did little to Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle throughout the series because to evade trouble with teachers and they had one another to hold each other back from doing worse. Finally, they are more free during the Second Battle of Hogwarts (SBH). So the seeing them fight each other at last is thrilling, especially it happening in the SBH.

I did like the last two duels as well with Molly vs Belly and Harry vs Voldy, but I really enjoyed the two trios fighting.

I also think the fight between Molly and Bellatrix was the best. it was realy cool having them fighting in the middle of the great hall with lots of people just waching.It was a proper one on one battle, and I think this scene is going to be awsome in the last film.

I abosulutly loved the Harry and Voldemort fight in book seven. It was so, so... exhilarating! I couldn't put the book down at all. My mom told me four times to turn off the lights, but I just couldn't bring my hands to do that. I had to find out what really happened. When I finally finished reading the book in the wee hours of the next morning, the end of the DH was all I dreamt about! I guarantee that this part of the movie will be the most exciting of them all! from what i remembered the things they said during the fight really got me into it. Easily made dumbledore my favourite character of the series

This is really a hard pick, I think since I just finished another reading of GoF, I have that duel between Harry and Voldemort burned on my brain. This duel is definitely a privotal one that barings us to athe return of Voldemort in a body and in much greater power..Not that I won't change my mind by the end of OoP, but here I am now.
