I came up with this cool idea for the film, it is as follows
It begins with the epilougue and once that is over it flashes to harry with his family in his living room. He is telling the story of HPDH to his kids. then harry says somthing like " Well lets start from the begining and the begining of book starts then where the epilogue is it goes back to harry and family talking and it ends with ron knocking on door wih hermione and family.
Let me know what you think!

Nahhh, WB will never do that. It's a decent idea, but it's going against everything in JKR's contract - that they wouldn't put anything in the films that wasn't in the book.
Anyway, no offence but I think it's a bit too fairytale - the dad telling the story to his kids, the kids ooh-ing and aah-ing in all the right places ... and i think it would ruin the other films in a way, cos the structure for them has always been the same - start straight off where the story actually begins - and I think that would be too different for it to follow on successfully from its predecessors. It just isn't Harry Potter enough, and it wouldn't fit in, which would probably cause a bit of anger amongst the fans since it's the last film. Plus, we wouldn't get to know about Victoire/Teddy or Scorpius or owt like that.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's a clever idea, but just not suited for Harry Potter ... it actually reminds me of Edward Scissorhands, a film that I LOVE! That was told like that, with her telling the grandkids

That is a pretty cool idea, but i agree with Amy that it would be too different from the format of the other movies. It would make it seem to much like fairy tale. It is not meant to be told as a story, it is meant to be seen as if you were watching Harry doing these things.

i think it would be cool, it would stand out from the other ones.
I guess it is kind of fairytalish , but it would be cool cuz it stands out from the other ones, as the 7th one I want it to be special and different

I have to say it sounds like a good idea. If it were almost any other film I'd be all for it.
However, some people (unfortunately

) don't read the books. So, they don't know whether Harry is going to live or die in the seventh film. This is sort of how we were before DH, we didn't know if Harry would be among the casualties.
So, if we start off with the epilogue wouldn't that spoil the surprise. "We know Harry's going to live so what's the point in watching the rest of the film."
The makers are going to want to keep people in their seats until the last minute of the film. And the epilogue gives alot away.

yeah, I just don't think it would work in Harry Potter. Maybe for another film though. It just doesn't fit

I rather like it..I don't even think they'll include the epilogue in the movie, though.
I'm in two minds about the movie being split though...I think the book's too complex, maybe too much in the story for them to fit it all into one without hacking it to bits really but again, two movies for one story might not go down too well with fans, unless they release both at the same time OR make it a matinee like in the old days when you paid one ticket and got to see two films; but having said that I can't see people wanting to sit in the cinema for like, 6 and a half hours at any one time. I probably would, but leg cramp's a bit of a consequence for a movie lol.
I feel so bad for the guy who plays Dudley, how bad must it be to read the Harry Potter books and have the character you portray "become as wide as he was tall" or "weighing roughly the same as a baby whale" I forget the exact quotes, but I always feel bad for actors/actresses whose characters are called fat, haha. Me and my gentle heart, eh?
But back to the point, I hope they put as much in and cut as little out as possible, and I can safely say that this is the first time I've felt that way about a book going to movie.

Sorry, No. No, no, no. I don't think thats a good idea. If you know that Harry and co. live from the begining than it won't be as exciting. Also, if you have the ending at the begining, you don't get that nice "All is well moment as a fade out. I also think it's too fairy taleish. Sorry...

Nah its abad idea, its too much like "Pulp Fiction" that movie started out with the ending then the beginning, and the middle at the end. Very confusing and it would totally confuse those who do not read HP books...I agree its a bad idea...

Wow...nice idea. But then, people who haven't read the books and live away from civilization (because by now, somebody would have told them what happens in the end) will know, at the starting of the movie, that Harry lived, and that he married Ginny, etc.

Yeah, I don't like the idea much either. So many other movies have done that but it wasn't a series of movies just like Harry Potter. It wouldn't fit with the sequence of the other movies or the book, because they all basically start of where the other ended and for the last to be directed differently would make a lot of fans mad. It also is very fairytale-ish like as well and I would rather have the cheesy epilogue in the end the way JKR wrote it than to have the order changed. But I really don't want the epilogue included at all. I actually want the story to end with the Trio in Dumbledore's office and maybe even Harry destroying the Elder Wand.

I think that is a great idea but i don't think that it will happen because the point of the movie is to tell the book as is. If they changed the plot line then that would defeat the purpose of the whole movie [I think].

I'm not thinkin they would do that, mainly because they know some people haven't read the books. I would love for them to, but I do agree that it would take on a more Tarantino-vibe, which is definitely not what WB is going for!!
And just for the record, I am going to be FURIOUS if they don't include the epilogue.

hmmm that would be interesting but they would never to it. David Yates wont screw up DH as much as he did HBP. I think the movie will begin with him leavin the durleys since its such a big part. The Movie should end with theEpilouge since it wraps up the whole story and it was a big part of DH.

Are you sure?

I also thought the same before HBP, but the scene at the burrow wasn't in the book, right? So I don't think this should explain why it isn't a good idea. Though it's a bit like a fairytale, but anyway, interesting! And it's good about it that it'd bring something new to the movie! Thanks for the idea

P.S.: Right,
Amy, in January you couldn't anticipate what would they do with HBP

I would not like that at all... I would prefer they completely omit the Epilogue from the movie... and the book. It would give away way to much way to early for all those who only watch the movies. Most people have probably had the ending spoiled but for those who hadn't it would be stink.
