The reasons behind my ranking are......
Well, the OotP is my favorite of the books. A lot happens and it changes everything. Luna is introduced, the D.A. is formed, and all that good stuff. I thought the movie was great.
The Prisoner of Azkaban was, I thought, pretty good. Lupin is amazing! Exactly as I pictured him! I loved their DADA class. It looked so fun. And the whole Buckbeak conflict. I loved when Draco was attacked.
The Sorcerer's Stone was good. I mean, it was the first one!
The Chamber of Secrets was fine.
I did not like the Goblet of Fire. They changed way too much and spent way too much time on unnecessary scenes. For example, the dragon scene. Harry was supposed to be the fastest. And the dragon would have never gotten out of the ring. They wasted too much time on it. Big disappointment. If it wasn't for Fred and George making jokes, and Mad-eye, I don't think I would have liked it at all. It really stinks because I love the book.

Well my order is completely different to everyone else's!!!!

Reasons. OotP, although it was my favourote book, was my least favourite film. I don't think Yates is good enough to direct it, as it didn't bring out the best the the actors, and it basically was rubbish.

Prisoner of Azkaban was really rushed, and for me this was Emma's first step at taking a downward spiral. Her acting has seriously deteriorated since then.

Philosopher's Stone wasn't bad, but it must have been hard for Columbus to direct the very first film to such high expectations. But he did a great job with CoS, and this only lost out by a little bit to GoF!

I loved GoF, I thought Newell did a great job, because although he had to cut things out, he did a great job in making sure he kept the important parts (unlike a certain David Yates )

Chamber of Secrets is my least favorite of the bunch. The dialogue is sickening.

I hated GOF, it was ridiculous! Even the pictures were awful! + hard to understand for those who haven't read it.

I agree with Nymphadora Lupin about Order of the Phoenix. They cut SO much, and I don't like how they decided to replace Marietta with Cho by saying that Umbridge made her take Veritaserum. So yeah, definitely the worst one so far!

Reasons:
I loooove PoA!! I love Sirius and Remus plus there's funny bits in the movie. The whole thing with the Marauders is one of my favorite things about the books. Plus it's a really good topic for fanfiction because there's enough to go off of, but there's enough missing that you can fill it in yourself.
OotP is not that great of a movie. They cut out waaay too much stuff. The book had some of the best lines in the whole series and they took all of them out!! But I really like the ending with the whole thing at the Ministry... especialy the duel between Voldy and Dumbledore. Plus it's just newer than all the rest and I haven't over-watched it.
GoF, in my opinion, is a good movie. I just didn't like the book as much as some of the others and I've seen it waaaaaaay too many times.
PS/SS is nice, but I find it hard to care about moutain trolls and the House Cup when now there's way more important things for Harry to worry about. It's cute though because they're so little!!
CoS is the worst. The dialogue sucked and Moaning Myrtle annoys me.

From favorite to least favorite this is how I would rank mine:

My reasons for choosing them in this order is because I loved the CoS and the how the plots unfolded in this one I loved having dingy Lockhart as the bumbling teacher, and Draco was in this one quite a bit also. PoA was my second pick because Sirius and Lupin were in there and I liked the way Harry found out Sirius was his god afther and really not that bad of a guy after all.
I agree with snargaluffpod OOtP was not the best of the movies, they left out too much details from the book that was so neccesary to leave in the movie in order for it to make sense....
GoF was a pretty decent movie except when Cedric died.
S/S was allright but since it was the first movie out of the series the movie makers somewhat learned from mistakes from that one and what not to do in the other ones...

I love PoA!!! OoTP was really good, i saw it 3 times in the theater, Goblet of Fire was cool cuz of the Triwizard Tournament and all the unique stuff they had to do, Chamber of secrets was cool because of the basalisk, and sorcerer's stone, idk, i liked it, but they were all so young, and the movie was a long time ago... idk... it was ok...
