What do you guys think? Discuss bad choices/mistakes that you've made and wether/what you learned from them.
What I've found interesting in looking at these results is that no one has yet chosen victories or has denied the making of mistakes. Why is it that we learn more from making mistakes than from succeeding at something? And why do you think that not one person ever gets through life without making at least one major mistake?

I have made a few mistakes in life that I do really regret.
Even though I try and live not in the past but in the present, and try to have few regrets, there are some that I have.
Mainly in the relationship department - trusting the wrong guys who then throw it back in my face and hurt me. But lets not go there shall we - shall take us on a dark winding road that I don't like.
But I think we can learn from mistakes, and we learn better from mistakes than from victories because mistakes give us more of an incentive to get back up and try again - no one likes to be defeated so i think being knocked down just makes us try harder to get it right next time.

^ Yep. Relationship department a few times for me too.
I made most of my mistakes in school .. I didn't do too badly in my GCSEs and whatnot, but when I did make mistakes they were HUGE, like, the whole school wouldn't shut up about it for months kind of huge ...
I wont go in to any details (it'd take too long to get down on paper, let alone a keyboard) but right now I realise just how much I screwed myself and some others with those mistakes .. and I'd definitely say I learn from my mistakes more than any victories I've had.

Hmm...well, I probably made the biggest mistake of my life with my boss (whose in a relationship with another coworker) a few weeks ago...especially when the two lines appeared on the test.
I think it has been the biggest learning curve of my life - because the consequences are lifelong and I've had to quit my job.
The best mistakes are the ones that make you sit back and say "What the bloody hell is wrong with me?" lol. The ones you learn from - where you take something away from the situation that you never would have had the situation never occurred.

I can not think right now of a time a made a giant mistake, but some very minor mistaks on tests I normally learn from. If you do something wrong once and you look it over, you will normally remember it better.
You can't learn from victories if you have already achieved the goal. You do something perfect once, great, but you don't improve on the knowledge that you already have.

When it comes to mistakes I can say that I make tons of them, from the smallest ones to the biggest ones.I always try and analize every situation careefully, but I end up making mistakes.Sometimes I just can misjudge someone and then rumors spread or maybe it was that friend I shouldn't have made.I do have to say something, from the numerous mistakes I have mae I have learned many things.

I have made so many mistakes in my life that I can't even recall them. Sometimes I wished I could turn back time, but others I don't feel that sorry, probably because I believe that we learn from our mistakes and that everything happens for a reason. Even our mistakes.
Generally, I believe that I learn from both my victories and my mistakes. My victories teach me that if I try hard, if I believe in myself and my dreams, I can achieve everything I want. They teach me that it's worth sacrificing some things in order to achieve a greater goal, and that those who don't understand you, should not be by your side. I realised that nothing comes that easily in life but we have the strength to be anything we want to be.
On the other hand, my mistakes tought me that I always have to be considerate of others and their feelings, that there are certain limits I can't surpass and that some things are better left unsaid. Truth, they say, is not for everyone. My mistakes show me what to avoid next time, they make me know better other people and they make me a greater person.
Overall I believe that a man with no mistakes is less wise than one with very little victories. We need both in life, so that one day, our victories will be a lot more than our mistakes.

I have made one mistake that I've never forgotten and that still to this day I regret. I really prefer not to say what it was but it wasn't like I killed anyone or anything like that. I really do wish I could change what I did. I praise the Lord though every time I stumble because he is merciful and just to forgive me every time.
And I believe that it is through mistakes that we learn through rather than victories because when you make a mistake you tend to regret it, which makes you think about it before you do it again and I think usually you don't cause you remember what guilt it caused you before.
Guilt is never a fun feeling to experience but it lets you know of the mistake you made so that you are less prone to do bad next time and also know better next time.

I once made a mistake and looking back I often want to relive those moments. Looking back I learned something that I now realize is part of life. Most girls that you just meet are mean.

I don’t feel like I learn much out of victories because I haven’t really had many. From a victory I learn - “yeah, I can do this” but from mistakes I learn so much more. Out of all my mistakes in my life, so far, I’d have to say that there is one, only one, that I wish I could change. To date it has been my biggest mistake of my life, I won’t deny it, I hope never to repeat it, I do hope and believe that I have learned from it.
I don’t deny it but I do not wish to share it, not now at least.

For the most part I'm regret free just a couple things... I really have trouble believing people when they say they have absolutely no regrets. There is a couple things for me that randomly I'll think about and wish I could change. I learn from mistakes, for sure, it's the best way to learn. So, hopefully I'll never make those mistakes again but who knows...

I am the master of mistakes! If there were a master's degree on Monster Mistakes I would probably be teaching the whole course...
I regret some of them, I treasure others. They've made me who I am. By the way, who am I? I am nobody. As you all know, nobody's perfect SO I am perfect

I've made plenty of mistakes that i regret initially, but in the end things always happen for a reason. I have definitely learned from my mistakes which is an extremely important part of life. I definitely believe that you learn form your mistakes more than from your victories.

I was re-reading a book by Paolo Coelo (thanks Stef for reminding me of it!) and he said something along these lines:
"You are entitled to many mistakes, except for the one that will ruin your life."
I thought this was brilliant at first, but then I wondered...how can we know which mistake is going to be the "fatal" one? Also, only at the end of your life you can tell whether this was a mistake or not. Many choices seem wrong but prove to be right, and vice versa. Actually, the vice versa is more often. How many times have we made a choice thinking it was the right one, only to find out later that it was so so wrong?
I believe that we can and should make mistakes. But we should only make a decision after examining all the possibilities. Noone knows the outcome, but we can be prepared if we think our actions through.
They say that a happy man is a man with no regrets in the end of his life. May we have no regrets as well!
