I think old Mr Lovegood has to fall in love again ... but with who?
I've been thinking this for a while, so I say it could be Professor Sprout. Why not? He is a weirdo about strange magical creatures and she is a weirdo about strange magical plants, so ... why not?
I wanted to open a poll, but I couldn't think of anyone else. What do you guys think?

For some reason I think Prof. Sprout would be good for him..although she is much more sane than he is, that's for sure!!!

Xeno and Rita Skeeter would be the perfect match! Neither of them is very normal and they both love journalism and making up farfetched stories. Like the Quibbler's theory of Sirius Black being in a band, and Rita's theory in the Daily Prophet of Hermione and Harry being a couple during the Triwizard Tournament. (That was probably one of her dumbest theories, and that was probably why Hermione got so mad at her and even went as far as to blackmail her.)

come on people xeno and professor Trelawney...duh..actually im not sure it would work but it sure as heck would look right..haha..trelawney's whispy little personality and xeno's confident attitude (judging from how he wont listen to anything that contradicts his beliefs) i think they might make a good couple

How do you guys imagine Mrs Lovegood was, beside the fact that she liked experiment?

I'd imagine Mrs. Lovegood as an older version of Luna in looks, but not as...out there. She probably was wacky though. (Honestley, guys, she married Xeno!)

I like the idea of Skeeter being with him. I mean I never really thought of Mr Lovegood being with anyone else. Professor Sprout? Hm' that doesnt sound bad neither. Haha
But yeah I'll support anything seriously..

Actually, I was just thinking he would be good with Professor Trelawney or Professor Sprout. *giggles* They both have sides that appeal to him and complement his wackiness. Sprout has more of the magical plants to go with his animals, and Trelawney's more just out there in general, but...hrm, maybe he could get together with one of those two! I can't really see him with Rita, though. She seems like she'd make fun of him more and gossip about him behind his back.

If Luna wasn't his daughter and so much younger, I'd say her LOL. Like father, like daughter! And she definitely balances out his crazy ideas when necessary!

Hmmm...I like the Prof Sprout idea that could work but i was thkning what about neville's grandmother....ok I've just read that back and it doesn't sound good. She's probably way older than him although her brisk sharp attitude would complete his I'm not bothered I'm off to go and hunt some Snrokackas(sp?) one. Although that might make things between Neville and Luna a bit odd but i think Luna prefers Dean anyway.

Hm, I think Skeeter may be a little too crazy for him. I don't know if I see that. I can't think of a perfect match for him right now with the people we know. Well maybe Trelawny is the best of the characters..I suppose that could work. haha

Xenophilius Lovegood and Sybill Trelawney!

They are so batty and eccentric just like one another. I bet old Xeno would swallow everything Trelawney 'Sees' just as she would believe him about crumple horned snorcacks and wrackspurts. The thought really does make me laugh.

Xeno and Trelawney would be a great match! They are both a little out there, with the 'fake' inner eye of Sybil and the crazy conspiracies of Xeno. They balance each other out. I think Luna would've taken it all in good stride, anyway.

I wish we could've seen more of Mrs. Lovegood. She sounded interesting enough. I wonder if she was crazy, too. (You had to be, to marry Xeno).

Actually speaking of 'mad to marry Xeno' Nicky, I wonder if the shock of Mrs Lovegood's death had such an effect on Xeno that he started believing in these crazy things for exmple he was so distressed at her death that he could not bear to believe she was dead and maybe this started him off thinking there was some crazy way she could come back.

Mr. Lovegood and Pr. Sprout might make good discussion partners since they have a common interest, but other than that, I don't think they match. She's far more logical and...sane.
The first good combination I thought of was him and Trelawney. Of course! The right ingredients for a good recipe. I bet even Snape would put them together if he were to make a successful potion...

I actually agree with harryjpotter's theory of mr lovegood, since doctors say that insanity is sometimes caused by ones environment and the tradgic death of his wife could have led to him believing in such things. On the subject of who would be a match for Xeno i would have to say McGonagall just for the fact that they would make a funny odd couple, Xeno being as eccentric as he is and McGonagall the strict professor.

Although I think that Xeno would be better off if his wife had lived, I still think that he would be a good match with Professer Sprout. She is odd and funny and I think they'd be perfect together.

Hmm it's an interesting question, but I actually imagine Xenophilius as being the kind of man who, even if you can't see his sadness on the outside, would never be able to get married again. Or would just not be interested in finding anyone at all, anymore. I think him and Luna are best off alone, anyway. It feels like they're a family we shouldn't mess with, haha.

I personally don't see old Xeno getting married again. I seem to think that him looking after his only daughter who looks like his dead wife is sort of nice. Him looking after Luna as she is his last remnant of Mrs Lovegood.

Although, this thread is about matching up Xenophilius. Well, I actually couldn't think of anyone. I believe Professor Sprout would be a good choice, but she doesn't seem completely crazy.

Trelawney is a totally different sort of crazy-she is trying to be a Seer, whereas Xeno just believes in what can't be seen... Although, they do both believe in that that cannot be seen, so maybe they would make a good couple. Luna and Trelawney got on well in HBP because of Luna's (Xeno's) theory's, so yeah, I go for that one.
