I LOVE CSI! Especially Eric Smandza (the DNA guy)!
It's just the way they make the plots and such, it sucks me in and I'm totally addicted.
My favorite character for CSI: Las Vegas.. Grissom, because he's soooooo intelligent! He reads people like he reads books and he know almost anything about everything.

heh heh heh....you know, I love the way they glamorise forensic science on TV.....it's nothing like that, of course, but it's done wonders for my pulling power with the lads.....
The show's not bad, the couple of episodes I've seen, but it's a bit like a busman's holiday for me, so I stopped watching it. It's just not like that in the real world......thankfully or not, depending on your point of view, I guess....

I love Forensics, but yes, I have to agree with Dana.. they do glamorize it a bit.
If you watch Discovery Channel and such, it's almost entirely different.

I used to like watching it... with Vegas... The only problem is that, it's on at 9pm, exactly when I'm having my dinner... kind of creepy watching them slicing a part of a human body (together with the special effect) when you're slicing a part of a chicken you're eating!!!
And I've read people's remark in the paper, that they like watching it because it helps them planning on zero-proof crime!!!

(yeah, they're only kidding... but still.... oooh, creepy...)
I dunno... that guy doing CSI:NY... what's his name? I thought he's okay... maybe I start watching it again when it's on here... and nope, the NY episode haven't been shown here yet... although I'm sure it'll be soon, cause the other day I watch them collaborating solving a case with the Miami team....

Do you mean the real world is worse? Or better? Cause it always freak me out and leave me having nightmare's in my sleep (which is one of the reasons I stopped watching it!!

Well....I dunno.....I mean, during my course, I've come across some things that would probably shock a lot of people...the horrific things that human beings are capable of doing to each other. You see these things in films - serial killers and the weird and wonderful way they have of offing people and the suchlike - and you think that life can't possibly get as outlandish as that and then you read about some real life serial killer who's done something so horrific that Hollywood could never even have dreampt of it.
What I really mean by not like real life is the way they go about solving cases, recovering evidence, handling it, processing it etc....the speed with which they get results on TV is nothing like it is in real life. It's not glamorous - it's people wandering around in stuffy, sweaty white suits with very fashionable (that was sarcasm) little white booties, face masks that make your nose itch and your face sweat and goggles that constantly steam up with the sweat the face mask is bringing on so you have to keep stopping to wipe them - then, of course, you have to change your latex sweaty gloves every time you touch your face to avoid cross-contamination issues.....you have to be careful if you lean on something as you're gathering evidence, you can't wipe your nose or push your hair out of the way (which should be tied back anyway) etc etc....
Forensics is an extremely laborious, time-consuming, dirty, sweaty, hard job....it's not wandering into a crime scene in a hot suit, picking up a hair with a nice shiny pair of tweezers, handing it over to someone and then you get your results by lunchtime, making an arrest by dinner.....

Most of the time, you're lucky to get it back in a fortnight....
zyra123
Jan 9 2005, 05:27 PM
I would have thought it was something like that really... because when I watch that series showing the investigators picking a strand of hair or something really tiny like that, I've always thought how they manage to notice them, since they're really tiny winy thingy...know what I mean? And if they ever gone into my room... ooh! I'm thinking there won't be enough evidence plastic to keep it all... (it was really messy!) Funny how every little thing they picked up would have some significance to the case... I mean, for every stain on the wall or every strand of hair they found, it could have meant something else that not even connected with the case afterall!!
Must be a terrible shocker when what you thought would only happen in movies and TV had actually been realised in real life.... I wonder how you can escape from being a paranoia person at the end of the day....
Does the CSI episode ever based on true cases? Cause if it does, then it'll be freakier than I thought!!

Well I thought I'd revive this topic again lol.
I love CSI! My favourite episode was the season finale for CSI: Las Vegas. Apparently, Quinten Tarentino, the director of Kill Bill and Hero, directed it. It was awesome! I bet the actor who plays Nick will be having nightmares for quite a while. He acted really well too. His screams were so realistic.
And from what I heard, they had to end CSI: Las Vegas because the actor who plays Grissum (or however you spell his name) is apparently sick in real life so they had to cut it short. Best of luck to him. Anyways, yea. All in all, the season finale was awesome.

Oh, my mother loves CSI (all of the CSI's especially Miami) so I began to watch it and I can't blame my mother for loving the show. I love the three. I really like how they solve the mystery and all of the clues are so... cool. But I'm not familiar with their names. All I know is Speedle but he already died in CSI: Miami. He's actually my favorite and I really cried when he died there. And their head, who's David Caruso. I don't know his name there.
And the one in CSI: NY, I mean, the couple there, not the leader. The girl reminds me of Angelina Jolie because of her lips and the guy is cute.

.
In CSI: LV, I love the way they ended a season wherein a guy, forgot the name, was trapped in a box but he was buried. I know you know it guys. I just love the twist they did. Very splendid!
And it's nice that every Sunday, there's a marathon in a cable channel here in our country, in AXN, it's called CSI Sunday Supreme wherein they are airing the three CSI in three hours. It's really nice watching it.

Well, I haven't seen CSI that much, but I'm in a class called PFI, which is basically the same thing, except the P, which stands for the name of my school. It's been fun so far, trying to figure out who murdered who, and who stole what. I actually think that I've seen CSI Miami, but my grandma told me to take it off, but I have seen clips of it.
Lol, I haven't thought about it, but Grissom and Sara just seem a bit too perfect to be together.
The funniest thing that my PFI teacher has said, is that the whole crime and solving it takes about 45 minutes, but in real life, it takes about two to three years.

There is no such show as CSI-Las Vegas. The original is simply called CSI! Star William Peterson (Gil) nearly had a cow when they began CSI_Miami. And, I hate David Caruso, so I tend to agree with him there. He (Peterson) even refused to do the crossover introduction. I believe Marg Helgenberger (Catherine) did the Miami lead-in episode.
I do love Gary Sinise and Marina Kannakarendes (sp?) so I like the
CSI-New York. But I still prefer the original.
I was excited to see the finale episode again before this week's new season started, then the networks had to rearrange their schedules because of the president's news conference last Thursday. I am not sure if they are still planning to re-run that last episode before the new ones start or not. It looks like a good year with the team getting back together, although I am sad that Warrick and Catherine aren't going to be a couple after all.
(Another thought for CSI-NY lovers--does anyone remember Melina from her Guiding Light days? She played Eleni.)

I love CSI ^^
I've seen a lot of episodes (especially the Las Vegas ones), but it's a little less at this moment. We (me, my father and my mother) would just sit in front of the TV for 3 evenings a week (Las Vegas, Miami and New York) to watch the show and my aunt has the series on dvd so we borrow it from her and watch it again.
I know it's too much romanticised in the series, because on Discovery or something like that you see it goes really different, but nonetheless I wanna be a forensic myself. If only I'd known that a few years ago then I would have chosen chemistry and physics instead of economics and French

unlike most of you i love csi:ny, i think its because its the first one i watched, but i love all the characters on it, mac, stella, danny, lindsay, hawkes and flack are the best characters in the whole thing
i also like david carouso (sp) as horatio just because his sunglasses are a legend, its the funniest bit of miami
csi (the normal one) creeps me out a bit because it has a darker plot line than the others but i still love it

I love CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (Vegas). Don't get me wrong I like watching CSI:Miami and NY but Vegas I think has better stories...they're more gruesome and whatnot. I love Greg because he's funny...and kinda cute
When i watch CSI:Miami I sometimes get annoyed with how Horatio is constantly looking at the ground and when someone wants to talk to him he slowly looks up and slowly takes off his sunglasses

It is unrealistic because CSI aren't suppose to go to the crime scene and they aren't allowed guns

I watch CSI: Miami every once in a while. I don't actively seek it, but if I am flipping through the channels and I see that it's on, I'll watch it. I thinks it a decent show. The main character, Horatio, gets to me sometimes though. It's like the whole show, the team painstakingly searches for the smallest clues to help them solve the crime and then Horatio finds like a gum wrapper on the floor and all of sudden he knows who the killer is and how he did it and when etc. It's like what was on that gum wrapper???

CSI: Las Vegas last night?
» Click to Show Spoiler - Click Again to Hide... «
The episode was about Warrick Brown being framed for a murder of a mobster. Once the CSI team figured this out, Warrick was released. But at the end of the episode, after everyone had gathered for a celebratory dinner, the team went their separate ways. Warrick got into his car, started the engine and then someone (I honestly don't remember what role this actor plays in the show!) taps on his passenger side window, has a conversation with him and steps back and shoots Warrick ~ twice! He really wanted Brown dead!
As Warrick sits there dying, I am just numb. I realize that this means that Gary Dourdan will NOT be back next season. I also wonder whether or not the new season will begin with the who shot Warrick investigation. I want that b@stard behind bars facing the death penalty.
I'm going to miss Gary and his character, Warrick!

the head guy Horatio got shot, Horatio just arrested some guy in the guy told him that he was going to make lots of people angry by taking him down and Horatio just laughs. Later you see the guy Horatio arrested talking on the phone telling someone to "tell me when it is done", after Horatio gets shot you see Ryan Wolfe (A CSI for Horatio's team get a text message that says it is done. Which means A Ryan is involved in the plot, B Ryan wasnt supposed to get that message and he figures something is up, or C Ryan wasnt supposed to get it and is still clueless or D They are mean and want us to spend all the time until next season interpreting this and if Horatio is dead. After they show Horatio for a while not breathing they pan away from him and you see one of his lenses on his sunglasses with a hole in them lying about 2 feet from him. Horatio hadnt put the sunglasses on so im guessing he was on his way to doing that when he got shot through the sun glasses.
Also at the begining of the episode the new body examiner was shot and killed, she had come to replace Alexx who had resigned to help out the living instead after her son almost got charged with murder but thankfully he was innocent.
Oh and Erik and Calleigh are close to dating I would say!!!

Hi, I Love CSI as much as you all do, but I was just wondering if any of you like NCSI for me is something really diferent from the other CSI shows, but I love it, someway it's more realistic because Abby the CSI never leaves her lab, and she even so get's to solve nearly all the clues. I don't really know if this show fit's here but I wanted to try
HJP/HJG_TrueLove

Nope I dont watch NCIS I have always wondered about it though. CSI Miami is the only show I really keep an active interest in and watch all the new episodes of except for South Park and I watch almost all the episodes of Family Guy and The Simpsons. I do however often watch re-runs of CSI Miami, Cold Case, and Without a Trace every weekend night on a local station and it is great but I have to stay up kinda late to watch them I also like to watch the A & E CSI Miami marathon they have every Wednesday with 5 consecutive re-runs.
Oh and maybe you mentioned this previously but has anyone else hear heard the rumors of a possible CSI Hawaii that they were considering a lot recently?
Dumbledore's Widow
May 28 2008, 08:21 PM
HJP/HJG_TrueLove, I hadn't heard anything regarding CSI:Hawaii. If and when I do, I'll be sure to come to this thread.
I read this in the June 2 - 8 TV GUIDE about CSI:LV:
"Why did CSI's Warrick have to die (and was the story line influenced by Gary Dourdan's real-life troubles)? "
Executive Producer Carol Mendelsohn says,
"We thought that if we ever lost Warrick [Dourdan], this was the way he would go. Warrick's a local guy. The only family he had was Grissom [William Petersen] and the team, so this was not a guy who was going to leave Las Vegas or CSI. We knew where we were going with Warrick long before Gary went to the Coachella music festival [Dourdan was arrested for drug possession shortly after attending the festival], and that it would be a truly classic battle ---a battle to the death. I think you will see that Undersheriff McKeen [who shot Warrick] will be one of the most worthy adversaries that the team has ever gone up against because he is so smart, because he is so trained, and he can think of all the angles. The premiere [of Season 9] is the last time you will probably see our entire cast together. Our original cast. And that means Sara Sidle [Jorja Fox] as well."
The article also said, "that the finale is not the last we've seen of Warrick, and his return will not just be in flashbacks". INTERESTING!!
But, I have to admit that I'm finding it really hard to believe that Warrick is alive after having been shot twice by the dirt ball! Assuming he is alive, I won't be surprised to find out that he is in a coma.
Wow!, we get to see Sara again next Season!

May 29 2008, 12:52 AM
I heard about the possibilities for a CSI Hawaii on a local radio station about two weeks ago some announcer on the show always discusses all the latest gossip in Hollywood and that was one of the things they mentioned and they said they liked the idea of Hawaii because of the color which is one of the main things CSI Miami has going for it.
I actually saw a bit of one CSI episode last year and it was the end of the episode when Sarah has decided to leave but is unsure what she is going to do with her life but knows she has to leave. I remember her kissing that one guy the head person I think and then leaving a letter to him.
And that is really interesting about Warrick how he is going to come back in more than just flashbacks and it seems impossible that he would have survived in any way

[font=Arial]Now, on to CSI! My favorite has to be the original CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. It has absolutely amazing characters, their murderers are all special in their own way, leaving a different emotional mark on each member of the team. I'm quite angry with the show now, because William Peterson left the show, meaning that Grissom left his team behind to be with Sara (another problem was when she stayed alive -ugh-). I still have major love for the show because of Greg Sanders and Nick Stokes. Greg is one of my favorites because he is... well, random. He gets uber excited because he finds something, and I classify it as cute. Now on to Nick; he is hilarious and can only be serious when it is absolutely needed.
Now,I want to say a few words about CSI:Miami. I liked it alot more when I wasn't paying attention to the deepness of the criminals, Horatio himself, and how it is just too over the top. But I need to lay off the cons, don't I? I like how it is set in Miami. xP The pretty beaches and Ryan wolfe take away the annoying stances that Horatio always makes (lol). Ryan; yet another show-offy smart guy who just happens to be cute. He is a jerk, but he must have a few layers. When he jepordized his job to protect that family shows that he has a heart, even if that is hard to believe. xP
Anyone want to continue for CSI:NY? I'm not too familliar with it. xP
EDIT: First Vegas is Miami on poll! I apologize!!!

I cired when William Petterson left the show. I think he was great and plus, Grissom is just the best character on the show, by far. But, I have to say that I LOVE Laurence Fishburne. I liked him as Morpheus(sp?) in the Matrix. I think it's great to have him on the show now. He's a good actor. But, I think that it was a bit sad to see Grissom go. I am most looking forward to seeing tonight's episode. I had kinda strayed from the series a little bit, but when I heard about Grissom's leaving, I strated watching it again. Now, I've been watching it. I lOVE that show.
But, I do think that it is really sad that Grissom left.
Remember the episode when Nick Stokes got barried?? That was the best so far, I think. Or when Warrack died. I was crying ssooooo much.
I personally don't like any other CSI but the original. I wasn't really allowed to watch Miami, but I have before, and I don't think it's too great. I do like Haratio and how... bold he is? I don't know how to explain it. Example: in one episode, a woman got her baby stolen and she asked him if she would ever see her baby again, and he said, "you will."
Ok, you know that when Haratio tells you something like that, you're getting your baby back, alright?
Like I said, I don't watch the CSI's a whole bunch, except for the original (Vegas)

CSI-Las Vegas is the only CSI that I watch with regularity. Maybe, some day, I'll watch CSI:NY, but for now, I simply have no interest.
I'm sorry that William Petersen left the show because I really liked him in his role. I also will miss Gary Dourdan. In fact, the entire cast is great, I like them all. I'm sure I'll enjoy Laurence Firshburne in his role too. But, for the time being, I don't plan to watch the show any longer. It sort of has lost its sparkle for me. Hard to explain why I feel as I do.
I have to say though, I am elated that Grissom

went to be with Sara! The last 5 minutes of the episode where Grissom leaves CSI was well worth watching! I love Gil/Sara. I know that I am one of the few that likes them together. I've never understood all the venom towards Sara though.

Anyhoo - they are together now.

Okay guys, I totally need to talk about CSI's (Vegas) criminals. Well, two of them. This is pretty much going over everything that everyone knows. xP feel free to pass this over.
Natalie Davis; the chick who brought CSI to all new levels. She goes crazy at the smell of bleach and kills pretty much everyone that had to do with Ernie Dell, the only person who really loved her (at least..well that's about right...). She had ths problem since she pushed her younger sister from the treehouse and saw her father clean her blood off the sidewalk with bleach. Another thing with the bleach is that the murders (and would/will/could be murder) spell out BLEACH. Blunt-force trama, Liqoud nicotine, Electricution, Asphyxiation, Crushing, and herself as the star of Hanging. BLEACH. She is rather interesting, kidnapping Sara and giving Grissom the slim hope that he would find her alive. And her timing it perfectly... It was Brilliant. Not to mention her miniatures that are just perfect, hiding the bleach in all of them. She brought the show to levels that I don't think they could ever return to....

Nate Haskell was only in two episodes, but he made a great impact on the show. He was the **** (lol, that was the name) and Jane Killer, killing at least ten from the episode "19 Down". It was discovered that in the house their were the female skeletons on the episode, "One to Go". Nate was very interesting, talking to the class of murder freaks (that included Thomas Donover, the DJK copycat). He singled out one girl that had "revealing" clothes and said that she reminded him of his first victim, who was a hooker. Later, Thomas came to her and asked her in he wanted a drink; she was the next and only victim who lived. Nate continued giving signals to Thomas through the class, where it took them a lot longer to find out. He plays games with the CSIs and Langston.
Okay, so I'm a total criminal freak! Tell me if I was wrong anywhere in here. (:

I am going to go crazy waiting for the next episode of CSI Miami!!! The two characters I have been waiting to get together for multiple seasons (the ones in my avatar) are finally getting together! But at a terrible cost, the preview said not even a shocking revelation, or an arrest can keep them apart, and they show Eric talking to Calleigh in prison and he is wearing an orange prison suit. He tells her his life is a lie and she says she doesn't care basically. If he doesn't come back ill be totally depressed he is my favorite character!
800th post!

My friend got my sister hooked, and now I watch it whenever my sister does. Some of them can be quite gory. On Monday there was one where the victim got killed in a majorly disgusting way. I'm not really sure if I'm allowed to mention the kind of gore on this site so I will refrain from doing so. If any of you watched the CSI: Miami on Monday night. It is a really addicting show that is very fascinating to see how they capture their suspects. The one thing that I find annoying is how they always have a cliffhanger ending, but it's never answered.

I am super excited for the season finale of CSI: Miami tonight! But with that elation comes the anxiety of waiting for the next season on some cruel, twisted cliffy. I only hope Eric and Calleigh are ok, in the previews it shows her shooting at him as he drove away in a car and later when she was talking to Ryan she was like "That silver car that I shot at, Eric was in it, I shot at Eric!" I have waited forever for them to finally get together (notice my avatar) and now that they finally are (albeit secretly) I hope nothing screws it up!!!
