Personally, for me, it'd be a tie between the discovery of the half-blood prince and what Harry got for his OWLs :-)

Hmmm...this might fit a little better in the Book 6/7 Discussion forum...but as I'm not a mod, I can't really change that...and I'm assuming that when you say "Book 5 or 6" you mean 6 or 7.

1. Discovering who the new DADA teacher is: I'm guessing this will be someone new...or Snape. I'm not going to get into my reasoning here, because there's a whole thread somewhere else on Snape as the DADA teacher...

2. Shipping conclusions: honestly, it doesn't really matter to me (ok, I would have thought Ron & Hermione, Harry & Ginny, Neville & Luna, but JKR ended Neville & Luna, so now I'm thinking Harry & Luna, Neville & Ginny...again, though, that's a discussion for the ship forums)

3. Discovering who the HBP is: yeah, I'm definately looking forward to knowing this...although I'd want to know what the significance is, first. Although if we were told who the HBP was now, we could have some fun thinking of their significance...

4. What Harry got on his O.W.L.s: I think he'll be surprised about how he did...I bet he got into Potions that wouldn't make him happy, would it?

5. Finding out what's up with cats: it could be interesting to know what's going on with all of the cats...maybe Mrs. Figg can help us figure this one out!

6. What's up with the two-way mirror: I really want to know this one...especially after JKR's cryptic comment "It might not have helped as much as you think, but it might help more than you think." There's definately something up with that...

7. How we'll see Sirius again: Personally, I don't think we're going to see him again...but maybe that's just me. And I guess that means "how" isn't very high on my list, since I don't think it's going to happen at all!

8. What's behind the veil: As it's the Death Chamber, I think that there's some place where dead souls go...because the people who know dead people/have a strong connection with death could hear the voices, but the others couldn't.

I agree with you on all your thoughts, but I think JKR did mention that we might see Sirius (in some form or another) again. I'm not sure, I might be thinking of something else!

What I'm looking forward to:

1) Finding out what was in the other letters Dumbledore sent to Petunia.

2) Finding out who inherits 12 Grimmauld Place.

3) OWLs. How did everyone in the DA do at DADA? Is there a higher grade than Outstanding to give Harry in DADA? Did Neville get an O in potions? How many Outstandings did Hermione get? And what about Ron?

4) Ron developing enough of a backbone to tell Harry when his plans are harebrained and he's just not going to go along with them.

5) What's behind the Veil, and what's with the two-way mirror.

6) Adventure, complex emotions, character development, a great plot, a wealth of detail, magic, romance, danger, morality, mortality, justice--little things like that.

I'm really hoping to see more Lupin moments in it.

Be it Lupin and Harry or Lupin with the Order... well, in a nutshell, just Lupin! (I know, I know... its title is Harry Potter and HBP and not Remus Lupin and HBP ... but I can hope, can't I? )

For those of who are curious about the OWL results, did anyone pick up on Umbridge's evil smile as Harry left the DADA exam? It made me wonder that perhaps she had something up her sleeve concerning his results. I really hope not.

I want to know how Grawp, Madame Maxine (?) and Hagrid's tale ends. I do not believe that is the last we have heard of her.

I'm also curious to see who will die in this book. JKR said that there will be more deaths. I have my own thoughts on who will die, but that is not for this topic.

The things I’m most looking forward to would be:

Finding out more about the Veil and why and how Sirius actually died. I really need some closure on the mater!

Harry, Hermione and Ron's OWL results. I have a strange fascination with statistics and this extends to exam results. I’m weird

And most of all How Harry is going to cope at the Durseys. Harrys in a bit of an (understandable) emotional state at the moment (to say the least) and so a few choice words from Vernon or Dudley (when they forget about Moodys threat, which I really hope they do) may lead to them being extensively cursed and jinxed by an angry Harry! Plus the Ministry would probably be too busy with the whole Volde coming back to actually care.
So what would be the Harm in it?

There was an interview, with JKR about Snape's Patronus in the 6th book. Who knows, I may be wrong. I do like the idea of Petunia being kidnapped, but I seriously doubt it.

Remus Lupin I am SO with you. I Pray that sirius will come back and it woulsd be terrible if Lupiin died! I LOVE YOU SIRIUS! although i do hope harry hooks up with Ginny

For me I wanna see a few things resolved.

1. I wanna see some justice done, all those who did wrong or accused Harry should pay somehow. I wanna see Umbridge get what she deserved, some real justice...she tried to kill the boy for pete sake.

2. Percy should also pay for his disloyalty

3. I wanna see more of Dumbledore's brother Aberforth (I think that's his name).

4. Ofcourse who the new DADA teacher's going to be. Someone new would be nice.

haha, I think Umbridge got her comeuppance by her psychological disorder and newfound fear of centaurs... I would desparately like to see Percy pay though. I hope the Dursleys get more involved, but JKR said that only Petunia will play a big role in this book, but maybe she will become entwined with the wizarding world (again??)

I heard a rumor that we are going to learn something big about Lily Potter. That is what I'm looking forward too.

Yea, we learn about Harry's parents past, as in their adult past and their roles in the Order and we learn the importance of why Harry has his mother's eyes.

i am really looking forward to finding out more about harrys mum, lilly. i adored the information we got about the marauders in the last book, i only wished there was more!

finding out who the HBP is, i bet it will be someone we never thought of, but is sooo obvious to us all, like who know dieing in OOTP.

who that lion guy is, i don't think he will be the new DADA teacher, it's way to obivous, we will get a shock with that one, like snape getting the job or somthing, plus another reason for snape getting the job is harry loves DADA and snap would destroy that dream.

haha that is a very blunt way to put it, but yes, Snape would obliterate Harry's liking of DADA. But also remember Dumbledore says that he will not give Snape the job in fear of bringing out the worst in Snape.

As of right now, Blaise Zabini is an unkown entity. All we know about him is that he's in Slytherin and in Harry's year. So he may very well be the first Slytherin to befriend Harry or become an even worse enemy than Draco (I highly doubt that though). He might even be the HBP... Makes you wonder....

I think I remember him saying in one of the previous books or maybe on JKR's site, because I remember it being verified information.
