Well I have already answered alot of the questions and some I came up with and seeing as we're not getting another quote for another six hours! wacko.gif I thought that I come up with another question.

I'm currently re-reading Twilight. And I was wondering if there are some things thst you didn't catch the first time that now when you re-read, you think to yourself "that's why!". I know some might not understand but let me give you an example.

When Bella arrives to Forks high for the first time and she is comparing the cars and then says that the nicest looking car as a Siliver Volvo, but I'm sure alot of us were like eh, whatever about. But when you re-read now you know who the owner is happy.gif Also another one for me that I thought was small but funny, was when Bella and Edward finally talk in Bio and she's telling him why she moved here and she mentioned Phil plays ball and Edward says

QUOTE
"Have I heard of him?" he asked, smiling in response.

Haha little did we know then vampires play baseball laugh.gif

So did any of you find anything like that?
hot-for-harry
And I was wondering if there are some things thst you didn't catch the first time that now when you re-read, you think to yourself "that's why!".

Yes, actually. It wasn't so much a "that's why" as a "oh I didn't know that was mentioned". It was when Bella went to First Beach with Mike, Jessica, Lauren and all of them. I didn't realize that Sam was sitting in that group until the third time I read it. I think he must have turn into a werewolf by then because he said the line, "They don't come here". I think he must've known the treaty. Then again, Jacob already knew the reason why...

That's a good question to ask as a lot of us have the series over and over again. I hope you don't mind nicky potter, that I put you're question in bold letters.
Maybe I'll do another question because as you said there's not a new quote and we've already answered the questions.

If you got the choice, who would you want to meet more? Stephenie Meyer or the cast of Twilight, and why?

For me this is incredibly tough. Stephenie Meyer is such an amazing author I'd love to just meet her. Where as the cast could you secrets on the movie and other cast members (hehe), plus the side fact that there stars. I'm going to have to choose... Stephenie Meyer. If I ever see her at a book signing though, I'll probably change that choice to the cast.
PottyHead
I only just realised how little I post in here, I read through the posts every day but I never post =P

And I was wondering if there are some things thst you didn't catch the first time that now when you re-read, you think to yourself "that's why!".

Again it wasn't a 'That's why' kind of thing but I always go back and read as I go along (I forget things easily, so I always go back and check things) and when I read New Moon I had to read the chapter where Sam finds her in the forest half a dozen times before I realised which Sam it was tongue.gif

If you got the choice, who would you want to meet more? Stephenie Meyer or the cast of Twilight, and why?

I would definitely want to meet SM more. She has so many answers to all my questions that I just wouldn't get from the cast. Also, the cast are just acting out what's already there, SM is the genius behind the whole thing, she came up with this entire story line, she dreamt up Bella and Edward and everyone else and it's just like 'Wow' its not often you get authors who can create something like Twilight.

I think that's the main reason that HP and Twilight are compared so much. Instead of it being all 'Twilight is the second life for Potter fans' I think if you look at it, both authors created worlds that have just dazzled audiences, made us want more. Instead of being alike plot wise or with the whole 'magical' kind of theme I think the comparison is more in the ability of the authors to create something so amazing.

Kelly

nicky potter
No problem happy.gif I wasn't sure where to put it in bold, my question just kept going haha. But apparently I still haven't caught that one of sam :/ Now that you mentioned it I'm going to be on the lookout for it when I get there.

If you got the choice, who would you want to meet more? Stephenie Meyer or the cast of Twilight, and why?

Hmm. That's a semi toughie. I'm sorry I'd like to meet Rob and the cast playing the Cullens. Just stand there in their presence biggrin.gif And hang out like friends, that would be amazing! Because I personally wouldn't know what to ask Stephenie nothing comes to mind laugh.gif BUT I will say that if it were possible I'd love to meet the Cullens in the book ;D Especially Edward. Sorry Bella haha.

EDIT: Kelly you make a point now. I would defiently want to meet Stephenie for her to answer my burning questions that I have, but I would wait til after the release of Breaking Dawn and see how it goes and if any of my questions have been answered. Then I will see what happens from there.
hot-for-harry
You're right nicky potter, when I say that I want to meet SM nothing really comes to mind for questions. Mainly I just want to know how she came up with this. I would just be awed to be in her presence. I too would want to meet the cast for the Cullens, especially Emmett. If you've read a certain part of the SM website you'll know why I want to hug Kellan Lutz.

I kind of want to know what the cast thinks of their roles and how they've mentally prepared for them. Possibly physically prepared too.
Lulu-lolo
I would probably want to meet the cast. Especially Robert Pattinson. But only if I could meet them as an equal, not like some crazy fan wanting to get close to them. If I met Stephenie Meyer, hmm... I wouldn't know what to say. I would probably just say thanks a lot, tell her that I admire her and then I would be awed to be in her presence like you hot-for-harry I don't have many questions to ask her just at the moment, but I am sure that will change after I've read BD. Uhh, not a long time to go.

hot-for-harry
As you said Lulu I would only meet the characters as an equal. I'm not the kind of person that will get star-struck and start screaming and stuff when I meet a famous person. I'd really want to get to know them as if I were an old friend. Especially Rob Pattinson, and not because he plays Edward Cullen, but because he plays piano and music and stuff. He just seems like a genuinely nice, down-to-earth kinda guy. But since I'd be likely to fall down, I'd be extremely embarassed.

nicky potter
EXACTLY hot-for-harry & Lulu-lolo

I would want to meet the cast [especially Rob] as an equal and not a red face screaming fan. Especially Robert becuase I love to play piano. I want to learn so badly since I was younger to play it (: and I would probably have alot of questions for SM after Breaking Dawn. Those are my two cents.
Honeybee
I see I have missed some questions again, so here goes...

What do you think about the comparisons between HP and Twilight? Do you think it is true that the majority of the readers of the Twilight series are former/current Harry Potter fanatics? Can we think of any other comparisons that this "tiny" article may have missed?

I don't think that these two series can even be compared. I know that they are both fictional, and I myself only wish they were real( ahh.. to get to go to Hogwarts and become a witch, and AHH.. to be even remotely close to such an outrageously gorgeous human.. I mean vampire)! Both authors seemed to be completely unique in their own way of writing. I do believe that there are alot of HP fans that are totally into the Twilight saga. I know i am, and based on this thread so are many, many more.

And I was wondering if there are some things that you didn't catch the first time that now when you re-read, you think to yourself "that's why!".

There are many times when I read a story that I miss something, and when I go back I catch something that I can't believe I missed the first time. I know that when I still read DH, I catch something new that I didn't read before. But as for Twilight I can't think of anything that I have missed, but I'm still in the process of re-reading them yet again. I'm sure I'll catch something.

If you got the choice, who would you want to meet more? Stephenie Meyer or the cast of Twilight, and why?

I think I would want to meet the cast. Most of the things I would've asked SM have been answered in previous interviews. The cast however I would love to know what their take is on the series. I would love to have the whole cast sitting in one room and have them all give their opinion. Plus it would just be great to meet them period. happy.gif
hot-for-harry
Oh my gosh, I play piano too, so to me Bella's Lullaby is going to be absolutely huge. No pressure to Rob cause he's going to do fabulous. I'm just saying that when it comes out, I'm getting the sheet music for it and learning out to play it. Oh my gosh!!!!!
nicky potter
Speaking of Rob and piano playing I have a quick question and I just want to make sure that I wasn't hearing things. Is it true that Rob is going to make to make up Bella's lullaby? He's composing it? [Is that the right right term? tongue.gif ]
hot-for-harry
Yes Rob is supposed to be composing (that's the right word just to let you know nicky potter) Bella's Lullaby. That is what was said, but something might go wrong.
Earlier on the forum there was a question asked about a song that might remind you of Twilight. I think that the song All I Ask of You from the Phantom of the Opera is a good song.

Has anyone heard of a theme song for Twilight? I'm anxious to hear what it is!!
nicky potter
Oh wow that's amazing! But what do you mean that something might go wrong? And lately I have been hearing that people think that alot songs from phantom of the opera go with somethings in Twilight. And there is a theme song for Twilight?

Well I found on a website somebody mentioning a song

"Twilight"- Vanessa Carlton

I heard and I love it happy.gif give it I chance I think that you might like it too.
hot-for-harry
What I meant by something might go wrong is that maybe he'll get writer's block (not literally just as an expression) and he won't be able to think of a song.

Thanks for mentioning the theme song to me. Have you ever seen the Phantom of the Opera? I think you'd agree that some of the songs fit perfectly with Twilight!

Getting back on topic though, I'd say that it's time for another question.

I'm having writer's block at the moment ~wink, wink nicky potter~ so anybody else got a good question?
nicky potter
While PMing with Hot-for-harry a question came to mind and I'm just curious.

Did anybody else knew that Rob was going to compose Bella's lullaby? How do you think will that turn out? And I also wondered seeing as we really don't know how it sounds like what do you think will be the inspiration to write it? Or do you think SM can give him an idea on how it should sound? I don't know it has me thinking now tongue.gif
browneyedgirl
wow, you guys have said so much in just the last 24 hours! sometimes its hard to keep up! haha.

Did anybody else knew that Rob was going to compose Bella's lullaby? How do you think will that turn out? And I also wondered seeing as we really don't know how it sounds like what do you think will be the inspiration to write it? Or do you think SM can give him an idea on how it should sound?
i learned that he was going to a while back, from watching an interview that he was in. im so excited to hear it! SM probably guided him along so that it kind of sounds like something she had in mind that Edward would make for Bella.

P.S. Robert as Edward in a baseball uniform = love.! haha.
nicky potter
Browney you are absolutely right about Robert as Edward in a baseball uniform biggrin.gif it does equal love<333 and I also thought the same, that maybe SM would guide him becuase even he said it. He didn't know what Twilight is and I'm going to be honest I don't think he's read the book :/ if he has ok but if not then I don't think he has the slightest clue what it should sound laugh.gif So to feel the full effect I think that SM has to be there and let him know how she always imagined it in her head.

Here I found on a fansite, someone has a suppose song of Bella's lullaby. I thought it sounded pretty biggrin.gif

EDIT: I do NOT know if that is Bella's lullaby, I just found it on a site and thought I should share with you all.
Moon(I luv you Luna)
Being a former player of the flute, i get slightly into music, when someone's composed it themselves. I heard Rob was composing Bella's lullaby, and i'm so glad-it's really sweet of him. biggrin.gif And Nicky, that version of the Lullaby is so beautiful. laugh.gif

So much is happening so soon! I am getting very anxious for BD.

If you got the choice, who would you want to meet more? Stephenie Meyer or the cast of Twilight, and why?

I have no idea. I honestly can't pick between the two. To meet SM would be awesometastical, but she's answered so many questions already, and i wouldn't know what to ask her. I'd have to think of a whole list of things before i go and then i'd probably faint when i finally do get to meet her. But meeting the cast would be so cool, being able to ask what it's like to bring the character's to life -sigh- all in all, i think i'd have to go for SM. Maybe i could get her to sneak me onto the set and i can meet the cast anyway. happy.gif

New Quote:

"Bella: "Why am I covered in feathers?""

I actually laughed out loud at this quote. Another one of Stephenie's twisted humor quotes. Bella seems so innocent in her quotes, like she doesn't have a clue what's going on around her. She's living in her own little "Edward" world. Maybe the feathers are from her bachelorette party that Alice gets away with throwing, and when she wakes up she's covered in feathers and can't remember what happened. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Or... maybe it has to do with an outfit Alice picked out for Bella to wear to her rehearsal dinner. Bella hasn't seen it before, and before she knows it Alice has the outfit on her and Bella looks at herself in the mirror and asks "Why am I covered in feathers?"
nicky potter
Hmmm. Sorry but from all the quotes that we have read I have to say that so far this is the only one that has me stumped. I'm just going to assume that this is a random or funny moment? I don't know huh.gif Really stumped. Any ideas?

EDIT: Alright Honeybee if you put it like that I sort of see where it is going laugh.gif The quote caught me so off guard that I wasn't sure what to make of it. But connecting it with Alice it definetly opens up things happy.gif I think this question is being asked to Alice. And of course Alice is just going to be clever about it and say something funny laugh.gif *sigh* atleast there is less than two weeks left [maybe 13 days?]
Pawprint
Ok, so again, I'm on a happy mood! So, I'm going to go with a very far-fetched theory that I think might please some people around here:

I say this is vampire Bella speaking, and she was thirsty and attacked a bunch of chickens or farm birds or whatever feather bearing animal, but she did it so fast that she only followed her natural instincts and all of a sudden, she found herself covered in feathers!!! tongue.gif

Like it? I do!!!

And once again, I have some eye candy for all you girls!
Check out this site!!! More behind the scenes shots from Hollywood Backlot! Numbers 15 and 16: that's Edward straight from my imagination into picture... (With blond hair, though... rolleyes.gif ) Yay for Robward!!! wub.gif
nicky potter
Actually Pawprint laugh.gif I do love your theory alot, haha. And it's also again another funny scene from the book<3 I love it . and then Edward and Alice and all of the Cullens laugh at her experince xD PERFECT. Gosh I saw the pictures, I'm sorry to those that are against what I'm about to say but Rob is perfect for Edward. Atleast physically, I still need to see his acting but so far in the trailor I haven't been let down happy.gif and personally I think that Rob in general in gorgeous through and through. Bristish boys are always the beautiful ones wub.gif

OME!! How to give me another does of OCD!! Anyone who ever thought he couldn't do the most beautiful person on the planet need their eyes testing after seeing these pics, don't you agree Anita.

Robward rules! Mind you so do all the other wards!!! biggrin.gif
hot-for-harry
I think that you guys are getting a bit obsessed with his looks rather than how good his acting is. I'm not say that I don't agree that he's hot and all, but that's all we seem to be focusing on. I think he's a great actor who will be able to play Edward with ease. happy.gif I watched GoF again and the first time he appears- dropping to the ground, no less- is really cool and I will admit that he looks good.

I'm just saying that we seem to be putting the focus on Rob Pattinson and not so much Twilight. Maybe we should put a thread out there for Rob Pattinson.

As for the quote of the day!1 smile.gif I'm gonna go with two theories. One, it's her bacholerette party and she's a bit confused (less likely as she's not much of a party girl). My second theory is that she is putting an outfit on that Alice told her to.
Insomnia
QUOTE
"Bella: "Why am I covered in feathers?""

laugh.gif That's hilarious! Oh the possibilities of what scene it could be coming from. I really like the whole wedding connection idea. Maybe it is some "fancy" dress that Alice picked out thinking it would look good. However, now that I think about it, she would have known Bella's reaction and probably decided against something like that. Maybe someone else got it for her?

Or like someone else mentioned, she woke up that way not knowing how the feathers got there. I hear bachlorette parties can get pretty wild and out of hand. tongue.gif

I think this quote is my favorite so far because of the hilarity and mystery behind it. Not that the others aren't, but this one is so off the wall with her being covered in feathers.

Actually there already is one hot-for-harry. The link is here. This is a place to drool and swoon. I am dazzled about his looks, but I also think he is an amazing actor, but this is probably the best place to discuss it. Maybe there has been a bit much Rob in this thread, but he is just great, we cannot help it tongue.gif

The quote of the day! Yay, sounds really funny. I thought of the bachloretteparty aswellInsomnia. Alice might have put something totally crazy together, I thinnk it could be her style smile.gif. Oh, all of these quotes make me long for the book so much. It is so hard for me to wait much longer! I guess the lot of you is crawing for it as much as I am. My family and friends are soon to be going nuts because I talk of Twilight all the time. Especially when I have been isolated from my computer and Internet connection for a long period of time so I can come here and discuss it with you guys. I think I might be to obsessed sometimes. It is the way I felt about the DH all over again, though I haven't waitet as many years since I started reading in May. Ups, got a bit sidetracked there, back to the quotes laugh.gif. I don't think we have gotten quotes from any important scenes yet. I can just imagine SM laughing about how much matter we put into quotes that is of no bigger signifigance. Or maybe is one of them a major clue, but we won't know that until we read BD! Uhh, it is so hard to wait!!! She's written it alright, it is just cruel to keep us waiting sad.gif

Yes, I am obsessed and proud of it. Yes there is a Robert Pattinson thread...I opened it but there's nothing wrong with checking out pictures of Robert as Edward in this thread. We all know he's a great actor already but he's also playing the role of a charcter who is supernaturally handsome, so focusing on that aspect is completely relevant in my opinion.

As much as I respect your opinion, it's is also not your place to say what we should or shouldn't be focusing on. This thread is to discuss everything related to Twilight. The books, the movies, the actors in the movies, including RP since he's playing the lead male role. The Robert Pattinson thread is to discuss RP and all his film roles.

I agree, we really aren't talking about him in general or other roles. We're just simply talking about how great he has been looking in the movie and how amazing he as Edward [well so far there haven't been any objections happy.gif ]
Moon(I luv you Luna)
Rob i just think is an amazing Edward. He's a great actor, and adding the fact that he's hot just makes it that much better. I'm sure he'll do great in Twilight. biggrin.gif

I actually really like that theory. I agree, Bella's so innocent in the quotes so far.

I think SM is going to either use insignifigent (sp?) quotes to try and mislead us, or use quotes from big scenes, only she's making them sound like they don't mean anything. Ugh, why can't she just give us the book now? I'm going to be a wreck the day is comes out-i won't be able to concentrate at school at all. happy.gif

New Quote:

"Alice: "No one will dare to call you plain when I'm through with you."..Bella: "Only because they're afraid you'll suck their blood.""

Very interesting... Who would be afraid of Alice sucking their blood. The only ones that would know she's a vampire are the Quillette Tribe. Maybe its right before the wedding and Bella at first got herself ready, and then Alice came in and decided to add her little touches. Although, most of the quotes seem to be associated with the wedding. I am probably totally off base. wacko.gif Who will know for sure until 8/2? Ugh...
nicky potter
Hahaha. Sorry this has to be either a reference to the wedding. Talking about her wedding dress? Or maybe it can be about teaching her something. Hmmm. Wow once AGAIN I am stumped by another quote :/ I have to read other's thoughts... Any?

EDIT: You know I think you're right Honeybee. So far we all think that half of these quotes are associated with the wedding. Hmm we might be in for a big suprise come august 2nd [or 4th]

Yea, in Denmark you can't even buy it anywhere (trust me, I've asked everywhere around where I live). I'm ordering mine from Amazon and it'll take longer than just teh 4th. Grr!

Like most others, I love yesterday's quote. It's so funny, and can come from so many situations. Today's... well, it's weird I think like. Because... Yes, Alice can suck out people's blood, but who would be scared? Everyone who knows she's a wampire can defend him or hherself. It's making me confused. All of the quotes in fact, is making me wonder, but I guess that's the meaning behind them too, right?

As for focusing on Rob too much. Well, of course we do. He's amazing and he plays our all favourite vampire! We'd probably have loved Gaspard Ulliel if he was the one who was playing Edward (I know there was a lot talk about him as well as Rob). I think it's the role Edward Cullen than has made us fall in love with him, so of course there needs to be a lot talk about him (just think of how Bella's mind is constantly about him. Ours can be too! haha). If anyone gets too much of Rob, you should go look at Kellan Lutz aka. Emmett. Personally I love him just as much as Rob, maybe even more. He's so hot, and he's just as I imagine Emmett, though he needs to have some longer hair.

QUOTE

And yet....I never saw him as Edward...gorgeous yes, but not Edward! For me anyway, but then like you say Kellan Lutz is lovely and Jackson Rathbone and........

You know I get more confused with these quotes day by day which, I think was definitely Stephenies point. One minute I think they are linked to the wedding, then the bachelorette party, then...who knows. Thanks Mrs Meyer, I'm bamboozelled! laugh.gif

All the UK on-line stores are stating that BD comes out on 4th yet when I asked at Waterstones in person, they said 2nd. Luckily for me it's moot point because I am lucky enough to be going to Florida on that day and have pre-ordered in Orlando.

A lot of people have mentioned Rob American accent, me included, but something I didn't notice until the other day when watching the new trailer is that Kristen's voice sounds quite flat...montone almost lacking in emotion. I should be a bit annoyed about that yet somehow I think it's fitting. It sort of goes with Bella's feeling of inadequecy!
nicky potter
You're welcome Moon happy.gif I just thought that hey I should stop saying the 2nd becuase there are other places that sregetting it the 4th.

And etphonehome I agree when you mentioned about Gaspard Ulliel, who doesn't look like Edward. I remember the time that I was looking through photobucket pictures and this random guy starts showing up as Edward, so I googled him and saw it and I just thought to myself, this is the guy that everyone wants as Edward?? Sorry but there was no way that he fit the description for me. Besides I think that people still rooting for him, should start o look at the facts that Rob has the part and that the movie is a good portion filmed already. But that's there dream who am I to walk all over it? happy.gif And personally I think after Rob the one that catches my eyes the most is Jackson Rathbone<3 He is hot! and a cutie wub.gif

I just finished The Host last night. I started reading about a month ago and got to about page 100-150 and then stopped reading because I had to read my academic decathlon book and I neglected to read it forever and I just picked up on my second to last day in Las Vegas which was 5 days ago and finished it off. I was kinda disappointed which is kinda unfair because it was a perfectly good book but I had such high expectations because of the Twilight series. If I didn't have such high expectations for it I thought it was a very good book.

Right now in my class there is a huge debate going on over which is the better series, Harry Potter or the Twilight series. I convinced some of the guys in my class to read The Twilight series and now everyone wants me to pick a side. The girls except for a select few picked The Twilight Series and most of the guys except a select few picked Harry Potter so basically the debate is dead even. Every day I get calls from people fighting over which one is better to pick a side because I am probably both the biggest Harry Potter fan as well as the biggest Twilight fan in my class. I just pick one every time I am called based on who I am talking to but basically I seriously can't decide. I have loved Harry Potter so much longer but I didn't like one book in the Harry Potter series and I haven't liked Twilight nearly as long but so far I have loved every book in the series. I swear people are going to start tape recording what I say at one point in case I change my mind later. My best friend yells at me for being disloyal to Harry Potter if I say Twilight (she is clearly on the Harry Potter side but I am making her read Twilight series now and she is just kidding when she says that) and if I say Harry Potter my obsession with Edward is brought up by people going for Twilight.
etphonehome
This is why I think this whole HP versus Twilight thing is utter pants. How can you be expected to choose between the two? It's like being asked which of your children you love more. Impossible!

They are just so different. Both fantasy but different types of fantasy. It just makes me want to scream. Good luck with taking sides, or you could just use my arguement.

OK..Next bit is totally off topic!

I read The Host and it took me a long while to get into it. Now though, when I look back I realise what a clever person Stephenie Meyer is to have written how it is to be human for an outsider. Can you imagine, being shoved into an alien body and just having to get on with it as if it's the most natural thing in the world. Just imagine trying to write all that emotion and animosity felt towards your main character and make it sound right. Clever!

I'm currently re-reading Twilight. And I was wondering if there are some things thst you didn't catch the first time that now when you re-read, you think to yourself "that's why!".

My favourite thing is spotting bits like when Edward comes to pick her up and they are wearing the saem clothes. It wasn't until re-vamp 2, I realised he knew exactly what she was going to wear because he saw her lay her outfit out the night before. The same as when he asked her what cd was in her player then pulled it out of the stack...he's already seen it in her cd player. He'd obviously wandered around her home a few times while she and Charlie were sleeping.

As odd as this may sound I think that was really cute happy.gif I mean the fact that he tried to think like her and learn more about her to understand her thinking ways since of course he couldn't see into her mind.

Ughh HJP/HJG_TrueLove, that truly must be irritating. If I were you I'd make it clear that you like both, and that you don't want to take part in this silly feud. Or you can use etphonehome's argument which makes sense.

And I was discussing today with a friend of mine who shares the same Twilight love as me, and she was telling me how on ET, they are showing alot of exclusives and what not that it's getting to the point that they are pretty much showing the whole movie. Now we know that we have been dieing to see more Half Blood Prince and they are not giving wnough, do you think that they are showing too much Twilight? :/

I found this article while browsing the msn website and thought this was the perfect place to post it. Essentially, it is about Twilight vs. Harry Potter. What do you think about the comparisons? Do you think it is true that the majority of the readers of the Twilight series are former/current Harry Potter fanatics? Can we think of any other comparisons that this "tiny" article may have missed?

Nevillesgirl asked a question a few days back in regard to Twilight vs. HP. Here is a video that does a comparison to the two.

Let me know what you think about it?

New Quote:

"Edward: "Oops.""

There is really no telling what this quote is in reference to. There are so many possibilities.

"Edward: “Oops.”"

Well, she didn't leave any room for theorizing on this one. dry.gif laugh.gif

Wow! What an endless expanse of possibilities. Personally, I think Edward is being a bit sarcastic in his own humorous way. Maybe he bought Bella something even though she has specifically told him before that she doesn't want him buying her gifts. Well, he presents it to her, and she promptly reminds him of that. So then maybe this leads to his..."Oops."

Stephanie, she's such a tease! laugh.gif

"Edward: “Oops.”"

? Hmm. Well I don't know how to start this off. Let me start then by saying what came to mind first. I don't think that it was anything serious. Actually I think that this might be to Bella. When Edward sent an invitation to Jacob to the wedding without Bella knowing and she finds out and got mad, even though Edward may have thought that it was what she wanted maybe not laugh.gif I'm sort of rooting for that theory a bit more. Makes sense to me.

This too might be a possiblitiy. I mean he tends to be sarcastic with her when it comes to gifts. I mean I have a strong feeling that this quote is towards Bella.

Yes! I noticed this, and i was kind of worried. I don't think i've ever seen an actor with a flat voice before. But i kind of agree-Bella feels like she just wants to disappear on her first day. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Nicky)
And etphonehome I agree when you mentioned about Gaspard Ulliel, who doesn't look like Edward. I remember the time that I was looking through photobucket pictures and this random guy starts showing up as Edward, so I googled him and saw it and I just thought to myself, this is the guy that everyone wants as Edward?? Sorry but there was no way that he fit the description for me. Besides I think that people still rooting for him, should start o look at the facts that Rob has the part and that the movie is a good portion filmed already. But that's there dream who am I to walk all over it? And personally I think after Rob the one that catches my eyes the most is Jackson Rathbone<3 He is hot! and a cutie

I don't think Ulliel is a bad Edward, but i agree with you-at the end of the day, Rob has the part, and really, you can't please everyone. I'm happy with Rob and the rest of the cast, and i'm sure they'll all do wonderfully.

Even though I love all the Twilight stuff I see, I definitely think they show too much. Trailers and such are great, but showing so many scenes and clips... I feel I've seen the whole movie already. It's mainly the reason I've stopped seeing vidoes fans have filmed during the recording of the different scenes. I think they should have stopped after the 1 minute clip on MTV. It was a climax of the story and they went of and showed the whole world it. I loved it, don't get me wrong, but looking back I'd rather have waited.

As for today's quote. Definitely Edward having done something for Bella or given her something and he's being sarcastic. I don't think it's about the wedding invitation as it's not just some small thing like buying her a car (how weird that sounds!), but it's Jacob. Bella's feelings are involved here and Edward wouldn't be sarcastic or use an ironical tone in that matter. I can only imagine it's some kind of surprise which she'd no idea about and she once again feels he's too good for her. I'm absolutely positive that he doesn't mean the 'oops'

What a lousy reader I am. I hadn't thought of any of that before you mentioned it. Hm, it may be because I'm to focus understanding the text. Haha, I can't wait for the books to come in Danish (if they ever do). But like nicky potter, I think it's cute. He can't read her mind and therefor has to learn about her in different ways.

And a quick note to the Gaspard-Robert thing... I might have expressed myself a bit wrong. Gaspard's hot, but not Edward-hot. I never saw him as Edward either and found it wrong that some did (don't get me wrong, we all have different images of our Edward in our heads), becaus he just wasn't an Edward. He's face was all wrong and too long. haha, And well... I only just started reading Twilight around the time when the movie was about to be filmed, so Rob has been on my mind almost the whole time. haha.

I had never thought about that either. I just thought, WOW, that was cute and romantic and it added some kind of fate or something to the story, showed me that they were meant to be! This just shows us how complex and brilliant Twilight is. Stephenie Meyer has put thought into every detail, just like Rowling (see, there are ways they are similar and can be compared wink.gif ). I really enjoy re-reading Harry Potter after a long pause, because I discover new things every single time. That is what makes them fantastic books, and I guess it is the same with Twilight.
HJP/HJG_TrueLove, you are in a difficult position. I don't think I will be able to decide either. I am actually surprised to see that you are the only one who seems to stand in the middle. I guess that if you dug deeper, maybe there are others who feel the same way?

Yes, I agree that we might have seen to much of the Twilight movie, but on the other hand, we have seen way to little of The Halfblood Prince. They haven't teased us the same way, I have absolutely no image of the movie. I kind of hope that they will do SOMETHING at some point, the fans are crawing for it and we don't get anything! Usually there is a lot of talk everywhere in the media about this, but there isn't at this point, at I think WB is going to lose on that.

The quote of the day. Well, as you have all said, it can be everything. I sort of hope it has nothing to do with the wedding. We seem to connect a lot of the quotes to the wedding, as this is a thing we (hopefully) know is going to happen in BD. Maybe it is Edward towards Bella (or another human) when he uses a bit too much of his strength, though I certainly hope not. I have no better guesses, SM is not making it easy for us.

nicky potter
Yea personally I feel like they have showned alot of Twilight. And I'm starting to think that they are showing more than they should. Like you said I like seeing all of this, it makes me feel really excited for the movie, but I feel like it's a bit much. First off I feel like I have seen way too many pictures. I think that the trailors are fine. The teaser and the full length. That's ok, but then all the pictures that being leaked and shown, ehh I don't know. I can safely say that they have satisfied there Twilight fans a bit more than Warner has to there HP fans. I mean yea sure thanks for the pics WB but how about a trailor? And Summit, thanks for the trailor, but why don't you hold back a bit on the pictures and some extra videos? I guess I just feel like this [Twilight] can be a very good movie, I just don't want to hear from people later saying things like 'Oh yea I don't want to see that movie, I already see what it's going to be about becuase of pictures and videos'. They might not word it like that but you understand right? Ughh, I'm letting myself get caught up with this happy.gif What does everyone else think. Do you think that Summit is releasing too much?

And Happy-Potter, I see what you mean but what I meant by the wedding invite and oops was that maybe Bella must have gotten really upset, and seeing how she reacted, he may have sincerely meant the oops. Then again, these characters around the book have a funny tendency of being sarcastic with one another. Especically among the Cullen family. So maybe the quote isn't directed to Bella. Maybe Edward may have been talking to Alice? Lol like we all have said, the possibilities are ENDLESS happy.gif Love to read more on others thoughts...

EDIT: After reading what Lulu wrote I think that it's sort of true how we somehow relate the quotes to the wedding. Maybe we're a bit more excited for the wedding that we thought. Maybe becuase we have been waiting for it we're not thinking outside the box. We have to start thinking like Stephenie laugh.gif

And don't you think that it's media representatives like those two who are adding fuel to the Hp vs Twilight fire?

Whatsherface who plays Jessica needs to read more. Does she really believe that HP and Twilight attract different audiences? And I've not heard of any Twilight site blocking HP videos. Most I know embrace the similarities and I'm sure SM has said that she is completely flattered at being mentioned in the same sentence as JKR.

In all honesty I think that it's ridiculous to compare the two. I think whilst they have their similarities (the whole supernatural thing - yeah there aren't many), they are two completely different series, both so amazing and wonderful. They're two different books written by two very different authors with two very different writing styles and I don't see the need for there to be any competition between the two.
A lot of people say about how many HP fans have become Twilight fans, that it's the 'second life' for HPers after the series ended. And while I am a HP fan who then read Twilight, who isn't? Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was released in 1997. So most people had read HP before Twilight because it came out so many years ago. That, however, doesn't mean to say that there's competition between the two because of it.

I have an undying loyalty to HP because well, I am obsessed, it's true. But that doesn't mean I see Twilight as a threat. I also love the Twilight series and I don't think that any Twilight fans would see HP as any kind of threat. Just because the release dates are near eachother doesn't mean there's any competition. Also what those reporters were saying, as etphonehome said, is basically the fuel for the fire. They're the ones creating this 'competition' between the two series. As far as I know, there was never any competition before they mentioned it.

Very well said. I think that it is the reporters with there fuel to the fire controvery. It's really stupid to be quite honest. I will admit that I use to be the kind of person that said Harry Potter over Twilight. That was UNTIL I gave the Twilight series a chance. And from experince I think that it's a bunch of baloney <- don't know how to spell it lol I'm sure that there wasn't any problem before, but seeing as the last book is coming out and the movie is right after HBP, they thought it was perfect timing. Ugh and the situation that HJP/HJG is in goes to show how much more ridiculous this is getting out of hand sleep.gif Well it will eventually die out. It has too. Unless a new series appears and they turn that against the fans as well.
But that's the media for you. Who wants to bet on Alice and guess when this might blow over? lol

I just realized something, and I have an uncontrollable need to gloat, so here it goes...

My physical therapist is 1st cousins with Jeanie Garth, who is married to Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen) which puts me at 3 (or 4) degrees of separation from Robert Pattinson! I thought it was kind of neat.

Of course, that information and $10 will get you a ticket to Twilight tongue.gif . I know I'll never get my PT to take me to Cali when she goes out to visit, and even if she did I doubt Jeanie would get Peter to take me to any filming of the sequels! Wishful thinking. rolleyes.gif
