I've definitely seen some Twilighters out there on Vtm, and I bet there are more, so I thought it would be a great idea to start a thread!

For those of you who don't know, the Twilight Saga currently consists of four books written by Stephenie Meyer: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and (in August) Breaking Dawn. There is the posibility of more, though from a different perspective, but these are the planned four. The basic plotline is about a human girl, Bella, who falls in love with the vampire Edward. Naturally, their relationship has several problems. Edward, along with his four "siblings", pretend to be students at Bella's high school, adopted by Esme and Carlise. The books are written from Bella's point of view, concentrating on the different aspects of being in a relationship with an immortal as well as the complications of being so intune with the vampire world bring. Though the story might sound a little strange, the books are fantastic and will surely captivate you from the first chapter.

Twilight
the movie is currently being filmed and is set for release on December 12th. Edward is being played by none other than Robert Pattinson (Perhaps more recognizable to some as Cedric Diggory) while Bella is being portrayed by Kristen Stewart. (for those of you who have seen Into the Wild, that's her) The rest of the cast are fantastic as well!

If you want to read the books first and don't want to be spoiled, I suggest you stop right here.

But I'm interested to hear what you guys think!
Some questions to get you started:
Bella: vampire or human in Breaking Dawn?
Was Edward justified in leaving?
Favorite part of the series in the books so far?
What do you think of the cast for the movie?
Jacob or Edward? (You had to see that one coming... tongue.gif )

Feel free to ask other questions (I am terrible at coming up with good ones! rolleyes.gif ) and squeel about why you love Edward. wub.gif

Oh, happy day! A Twilight thread!!

Through recommendations, I've only recently discovered these books and read them in about three days. I'm so excited for the next one! And for the movie! Robert will make a perfect Edward! But I digress. Onto the questions!

Bella: vampire or human in Breaking Dawn?

Let me just tell you that if this ends up with an "Everlasting Tuck" ending, I'm going to scream! That girl had better become a vampire, and no one had better die! I was very nervous through the last book, thinking that one of the vampires I liked would actually bite the dust. . .. Now, there's that whole concern about the soul being lost forever when you're a vampire, but I think that Meyers has created them so that they have a soul - and that Carlisle is right. There is more to it. Edward obviously has a lot of issues with this, hence his hesitation - but I'm remaining stupidly optimistic! I kind of have a feeling that something very horrible will happen to Bella in the next book which would create a decent catalyst for Edward to turn her. Meh. I just don't know. I might throw the book out if it doesn't end up the way I want it, though. I'm that attached.

Was Edward justified in leaving? I think he was because he ultimately had her best interest at heart. I think he was deluding himself to think that he could just disappear from her life without a trace when she was so immersed with him and in his world. I think he acted rashly in panic, but he did have good intentions. I'm SO glad he came back, though. smile.gif

Favorite part of the series in the books so far? Good question! I definitely have a least favorite part! tongue.gif I think I really enjoyed the beginnings of the first book where she was discovering who and what Edward was. And his reaction to her being okay with it all! Those were some great moments!

What do you think of the cast for the movie? I only know who Robert is, but I think he's an awesome choice! I'm looking forward to it!

Jacob or Edward? Er, duh. smile.gif EDWARD! Okay, I think Jacob is okay, and he's been a great friend to Bella, but he also works in a very self-serving way. He's manipulative to a point of annoyance with her feelings when he knows how she feels about it. I think he basically tricked her into loving him. . .twisting her feelings all around until she had to admit that she loved him. I don't really have a problem with her having feelings for Jacob because sometimes you just have feelings for people - but I do have a problem with the way he went about forcing it out of her. Had he not done that, she would have still seen him as a best friend and been comfortable in that. Now he's really ostracized himself from her. Anyways. Edward, though obviously wanting to be with her, seems to always be willing to step aside for her to do what is best for her. He's selfless in his love for her. And it drives me crazy! At times, I'd like him to fight a little more for her. But, for me, hands down Edward.

Okay, for my questions:

What did you guys think of the chapter she's written from Edward's perspective on her site? (If you haven't read it, go there and read it. You'll love it!)

Based on the final chapter of "Eclipse" where she's switched perspectives, do you think the final story will still be from Bella's perspective, from Jacob's, or perhaps a split? How would you feel about it if it were from Jacob's perspective? (I'm getting irritated as I type that, so you can guess what my answer would be!)

Do you think Carlisle is right about the soul of a vampire?

Now that Victoria and the others are gone, who do you think will be the villain in the next book?
cristipotter
Ooh, finally a Twilight thread! I really like these books, so here I go:

Bella: vampire or human in Breaking Dawn?
I think she'll become a vampire, I was waiting for her to do so throughout all Eclipse and it never happened so yeah, she'll probably end up becoming one...unless... well, I don't know, I was never good at theorizing and predicting stuff (not even with Harry!) sleep.gif lol.

Was Edward justified in leaving?
I think he overreacted a bit and it was all too fast, so I was really angry at him while reading New Moon (I mean, Bella was suffering like crazy) and I never liked him back as much as I did in Twilight (I can hear the Edward fans screaming at me now tongue.gif ) I still like him tho, don't get me wrong! happy.gif

Favorite part of the series in the books so far?
So many! I loved the first book when Bella starts discovering what Edward is (just like you passerby!) ... I also liked when she went down to La Push when Edward left and hung out with Jacob.

What do you think of the cast for the movie?
I think they're all really great...I've always thought of Robert as a very handsome young man happy.gif and I knew about him being cast for Twilight before actually reading the book so when I finally got to read it, I couldn't help but picturing him as Edward. Kirsten, Taylor, and all the people who play the Cullens are perfect!

Jacob or Edward?
Oh...um...eh... *cough* Jacob *ducks things being thrown at her* but I like Edward too! I like him a lot! happy.gif

What did you guys think of the chapter she's written from Edward's perspective on her site? (If you haven't read it, go there and read it. You'll love it!)
It's brilliant! I really like it and I can't wait to read the whole book...it looks so interesting and it should be fun to read from a different perspective!

Based on the final chapter of "Eclipse" where she's switched perspectives, do you think the final story will still be from Bella's perspective, from Jacob's, or perhaps a split? How would you feel about it if it were from Jacob's perspective?
I think at some point it will maybe be from Jacob's, maybe for a chapter or two, or something...but no, I think it'll stay in Bella's.

Do you think Carlisle is right about the soul of a vampire?
definitely! I think it is still with them, and the only thing that changes is on the more..."biological" side, for lack of a word. tongue.gif

Now that Victoria and the others are gone, who do you think will be the villain in the next book?
I have absolutely no idea, again, I'm terrible at predicting and stuff heeheh...

Pawprint
I never thought I could fall more for VTM... Now my second addiction is here too... Be prepared... it's coming.... here it is... Squeee!!!

I just love you guys! Thanks Taylor! Thanks Janet! This is awesome!!!

I'm also a very new Twilight fan, I only found out about the books in January, but I have to thank the Welcome to the Bookshelf thread from the forum for lighting up the curiosity spark in me.

Okay, now, moving on to the questions:

Bella: vampire or human in Breaking Dawn?
Like Janet, I would be very very disappointed if after two books and the whole Volturi and Newborns incident Edward doesn't manage to see that it's best for Bella's own health to be transformed. Come on! Seriously! I'm very convinced that Edward's rudeness to Alice through the whole first book was because she could see Bella eventually becoming a part of the family. I will shove the book in the very bottom of my closet and totally forget about it and stick to a better ending through fanfiction if Stephenie makes it a Tuck Everlasting ending like Janet mentions (seen the movie, haven't read the book) because I don't have the guts to tear to threads a book and flush it down my toilet as I would love to. (I'm that geek.)

Was Edward justified in leaving?
No! He was overreacting, and I have a feeling that overreacting is part of his temper. He shouldn't have, he should have stayed and tried to protect her (come on, she's dangerous to her own health!), especially after what made him go after her in the first place (end up marrying an ordinary guy, "like a Mike" or so, he said.)

Favorite part of the series in the books so far?
Well, my favorite book is Twilight and as corny as it may sound, yes, the Meadow scene. (I need a little romance in my life...)

What do you think of the cast for the movie?
I was a little hesitant at the beginning, to be honest, and well, Robert Pattinson didn't quite convince me. I didn't really like him when he was cast as Cedric either (*stop throwing things at me!*) but it was for the same reason that I didn't see him fit to play Edward: he isn't handsome enough for my taste. But the guy can act, and well, I've seen a couple of pictures, and he's growing on me. He'll end up being my Edward too.

About Kristen Stewart, I'm okay with her. She's pretty and I imagined Bella pretty. I love the girl who's playing Alice, and the other vampires are all good. Overall I like them! biggrin.gif

Jacob or Edward?
Hahaha! Edward! I also hated how Jacob imposed himself on Bella. He used the knowledge that she was in pain to throw himself at her, and then, threw the fact that he was there for her when she was alone on her face and blackmailed her into loving him. Bella was pretty dumb for letting herself be fooled by his intentions, but well, she's not a mind reader... I really dislike Jacob, he's too rude and pushy, while Edward is a perfect last century gentleman...

What did you guys think of the chapter she's written from Edward's perspective on her site? (If you haven't read it, go there and read it. You'll love it!)
Midnight Sun will be great. The first chapter was awesome! I loved it, and I'd love to know more about Edward's angst, what he's actually thinking every time he stares into space, behind every question he asks Bella. He seems like a very complex character, and when I re-read Twilight after having read the first chapter, I kept thinking, "What might be behind this? What is he really thinking?" I can't wait for it!

I read on wikipedia that it was supposed to be out on October this year, but after the official Breaking Dawn release date was out, the phrase has been removed, which makes me think that it will be an August 09 release. Hopefully not.

I read somewhere that a perspective other than Bella's would be included in Breaking Dawn but I certainly hope they are not Jacob's. Bella's is okay with me, I like her story, but somehow, I've got this awful feeling that more Jacob than the one I want will be included on the book.

Do you think Carlisle is right about the soul of a vampire?
Mmm... Yeah, why not? When a vampire is destroyed, it's got to go somewhere. There's got to be a difference between good and bad vampires, and the vegetarian ones should have a better place to go to. Their soul, either tainted or not by killing humans would be the basis for that judgement.

At some point Carlisle mentions that there is no possibility for someone as nice and kind and Edward to not have a soul, and I agree with him, but I'd rather include the whole Cullen family in his concept, including Rosalie, which is a character that odly enough I really like.

Now that Victoria and the others are gone, who do you think will be the villain in the next book?
There's a couple of enemies left to fight. The Volturi is one of them. Jane didn't seem happy to find Bella still human, and Alec (I'm still guessing his power) is one that will back her up.

The other enemy is the werewolves. Billy Black still has to tell Charlie that Bella's choice isn't the correct one (he likes to meddle), and I'm guessing that the pack might show up at the wedding and mess things up. Either that or the Volturi will.

Here's my contribution: they are a couple of videos that Twilighters might like:
"I Don't Know - They've Got Brooms" is a report from MTV News
Behind the Scenes from Entertainment Tonight.

Now, If you'd like to answer my questions, I'd love to know,
What do you think Bella's power will be, if she gets changed and actually gets one on her vampire life?

Who is your favorite character, and why?
Moon(I luv you Luna)
Yes! A Twilight thread! You don't know how happy i am right now! I got into Twilight only about a week ago, but i read the three books in less than four days. Quite a few HP fans recomended it, so i gave it a go. I fell in love with it.

Squueeeeeee!

Sorry, had to get it out of my system.

What do you think Bella's power will be, if she gets changed and actually gets one on her vampire life?

Alice said something about her being safe inside her mind. I think she'll still be immune to all things metal (like when she's human and Edward can't hear her thoughts) but i also think she might be able to do something with her mind. Like, she'll be able to protect other's from nasty thoughts. Not quite like Jasper, but she'll be able to stop bad dreams or something.

Ok, so vampire's don't sleep, but you get what i mean, right?

Who is your favorite character, and why?

I have no idea. I really like Emmett for some reason. Like, he's just so out there and funny. But i have to say i like Jacob too (you can stop throwing pitchforks at me!). He's just so ... he was Bella's "sun" and he's such a good friend to her. Ok, so he wants more than friendship, but he knows that she's never going to pick him over Edward, so that just makes him seem so strong in a way, and i feel really sorry for him.

Plus him as a werewolf is just too cute.

What did you guys think of the chapter she's written from Edward's perspective on her site? (If you haven't read it, go there and read it. You'll love it!)

I haven't read it! Merlin, i'll have to go read it now (I can still add HP references, can i? lol)

I think there will be definately something from Jacob's POV. It's unavoidable, really. I kind of got annoyed with Jacob when he's trying to win Bella over, so i think i'll be able to ahndle something from Jacob's POV if it doesn't go on for half the book. I hope she still stays will Bella for most of the time.

Do you think Carlisle is right about the soul of a vampire?

I agree with Kaitlyn. Vampires have got to go somewhere. Everyone has their place, even when they die. And the Culens are vegetarians, they deserve a soul.

Now that Victoria and the others are gone, who do you think will be the villain in the next book?

I can see Jane going all "Bella must die", but i think the main enimies will be the pack of werewolves. There's no getting round that, unfortunately.

Bella: vampire or human in Breaking Dawn?

Vampire, most definately. I'm getting annoyed at how they keep putting it off, and she has to becom one at some point. I'm hoping it'll happen, also because i want to see the scene that'll bring tears to my eyes (i hope).

Was Edward justified in leaving?

Ok, i was almost in tears when he left. But he did it all for the right reasons. It wasn't really for the best i suppose, but i guess-ah who am i kidding? He should never have left.

Favorite part of the series in the books so far?

The whole of Twilight. That was my favourite, but i also agree that i love the meadow scene.

What do you think of the cast for the movie?

I don't see anything particuarly wrong with it, but the girl who plays Bella wasn't what i was expecting. Hopefully Robert Patterson will be a good Edward .

Jacob or Edward?

Yes, i did guess this was coming. I hoenstly don't know. Both are really good people. Jacob ... well, he's a werewolf, loves Bella insanely and he was a really good friend to her. Edward would kill himself if she died, and is a brilliant vampire. I'd have to say Edward. I find Jacob annoys me with Bella, whereas i can't get enought EdwardBella.

Thank you so much for creating this thread. I am insanely happy right now. happy.gif
Insomnia
I wondered when a Twilight thread would open up. smile.gif

Wow. So many questions already. Guess I'll just have to add one more to the pot.

Do you think Bella's sensitivity to blood/the smell of blood will carry over to her vampire state if she's turned? How do you think it will affect her?

This is something I've been wondering for quite a while. I wonder if her dislike for blood will actually help her through the beginning process of a newly turned vampire. Maybe she won't crave blood like normal vampires? I mean, they say that certain attributes can carry over from human life to vampire life. Is it possible that her disgust of blood will be one of them? I certainly can't wait to find out. It should be interesting to see, especially if she does turn her nose away from it. It'll make her turning much easier when most new vamps. go blood crazy. But at the same time, she'd have to get over it somewhat if she plans on living because she'll need the blood to live.

Darn, so many other thoughts running through my head, but I have to run for now. Can't wait to see what everyone else thinks about this.
nevillesgirl
~*Yeah, I am so glad that this thread opened up! I have been wanting to talk about this series ever since I finished reading the three books in in about three weeks ago but seeing as my husband has only started the Harry Potter series, I can hardly expect him to start Twilight as well. On to the questions...

Bella: vampire or human in Breaking Dawn?
~I prefer her to be changed but somewhere toward the middle of the book. I think part of what give Bella her character and makes her so lovable is that she is human. I think Edward loves her in part because of the human characteristics she has. He loves the warmth of her skin and the way her blood smells;those things will be gone once she is changed. It's a good thing Edward also fell in love with her mind and personality.

Was Edward justified in leaving?
~I don't know if justified is the right word for me. I think he certainly had her best interest at heart and agree with Passerby in that he acted rashly out of panic. I know that in his leaving we got to see what Bella was made of. We got to see the struggle to make sense of it all and that was a good thing. We also got to see the realization that occured between both Edward and Bella that as far as mates were concerned, they were it for one another. I sure did miss him in book two though.
Favorite part of the series in the books so far?
I like what Passerby wrote too. The discovery was just brilliant. I do want to add that I really enjoyed reading about Bella's self discovery and strength finding in New Moon. I like how Stephanie Meyer constructed conflict out of a previous conflict. What I mean by that is in having Edward leave and Bella all depressed, she turned to Jacob for comfort as her best friend. Conflict naturallty arose in that her heart albeit still broken, still belonged to Edward and now she had Jacob to contend with.

Jacob or Edward?
~Oh my...Edward is such the obvious choice here. I think that Jacob was extremely disrespectful of Bella's feelings in Eclipse. His actions before then he really didn't have much of a choice. Bella was throwing herself into his life because being around Jacob made her feel better. But in Eclipse, Jacob knew exactly where Bella stood and where her heart was yet he pushed. He demanded that she see him as someone she couldn't live without and then when she did, he got her to somehow think that loving Edward and loving him were on the same level.
In my opinion, Bella should search her feelings and remember how she felt that first time she was in Jacob's presence vs. the first time she actually had a civilized conversation with Edward. The fluttery feeling didn't exist with Jacob but with Edward...a clear choice I think.

What did you guys think of the chapter she's written from Edward's perspective on her site? (If you haven't read it, go there and read it. You'll love it!)
~I thought this was fantastic! I gave me an odd sense of deja-vu...like I expected what was going to happen next and yet it was all completely new and exciting to read. It will really delve into how she created her character of vampire. It isn't all one or two dementional (all vampires are evil and blood thirsty) and each vampire is completely different. I can't wait until we have more...especially the way Edward feels and seeing Bella almost die at the hands of James.

~I have a funny feeling that she is going to do a split and encompass all three of the characters perspectives here. As a reader though, that may be a bit much for me to handle.
Do you think Carlisle is right about the soul of a vampire?
~I love this question. I absolutely think Carlisle has got it right. I think that the vampire can control its thirst for blood and become a productive member of society. I see him as someone who has seen what the uncivilized, blood thirsty vampires become...something like zombies, mindless and souless with disregard for any human life. They kill without conscience and in that are forever condemned to that souless existence.
His life has been productive. He doesn't see himself as superior to humans (as the Volturi does) because his mind is clear, he can still respect humanity as a species he once belonged to.

Now that Victoria and the others are gone, who do you think will be the villain in the next book?
~I think the Volturi. More importantly I think Jane and Demitri and also Alec(he's one of the main three right?) I think Jane will report back that Bella is still human and that will displease the Volturi. I think that Demetri thinks Bella smells delicious and poses a threat, he also doesnt think much of Edward. Alec is the biggest threat. I think he finds Carlise coven as a threat to his power. I think he enjoys the fact that the vampire race find the Volturi royalty and if it somehow comes out that Carlise's Coven is "teaching" other vampires to control the thirst and live among the humans peacefully, why would they need a royal family who controls uprisings?
I'm a touch weird but what if Rosalie or even Jasper end up being someone who turned out to be the villan? I know I'm reaching here... wink.gif
Naturally I agree with the whole werewolf conflict and whoever said the meddling Billy thing has it right on
.

Do you think Bella's sensitivity to blood/the smell of blood will carry over to her vampire state if she's turned? How do you think it will affect her?
~This is such an interesting question. Laura, that perspective seems like the way to go doesn't it. However what if her sensitivity to blood is just that...what if it makes her sense of smell so enticing to the flavor of blood that it is actually harder for her to cope with being changed and the need for human blood?
Hilly
If you can get your husband to read it, Amanda, props to you. I can't get any guy to read it! ohmy.gif

Anyway, this thread so far has been great! I absolutely adore the responses in here! Yay! happy.gif

Bella: vampire or human in Breaking Dawn?
I really, really hope that Edward decides to change her. I think he's going to keep coming up with excuses as why not to change her, but in the end I think he is going to ultimately do it. Edward is, well, he's a sucker. He's going to give Bella what she wants eventually because that's part of his personality, he lives to please her. There's no way that he can live without her, and she is going to have to die sooner or later. Though, I think the marriage thing will speed everything up. So yes, I think (and hope insanely) that Edward will change her.

Favorite part of the series in the books so far?
Oh, I completely adored Eclipse. I don't know why I liked it so much, but I thought the proposal and all that was way too cute. I also loved the fight sequence between Edward and Victoria. Call me strange, but I probably have that whole thing afterward memorized and can see it in my head way too clearly. Bella just standing there with the shard of rock ready to stab herself, Edward taking down Victoria with Seth. And then when Edward goes back to Bella and you can nearly feel the tension in the air (metaphorically of course...) until Bella trips and he catches her. Which is all too Bella-y and thus why it was perfect! happy.gif

I also loved the discovery, as you guys have said. And, of course, the meadow. wub.gif

What do you think of the cast for the movie?

I absolutely adore the cast- especially the Cullens! I have to admit, I was a little worried about Robert when I first heard. Then I thought to myself "Boy with an adorably crooked smile? Who could pull that off better than Rob Pattinson!" And now I have the fullest faith in Rob. Honestly, breathtaking crooked smile?! *faints*

I'm not sure about how I feel about Kristen as Bella yet. I haven't really seen her act, so I can't judge on that. From pictures, she always just seems a little out of it. Though, I do think that she'll do a great job. The more and more I think about it, I think she'll do an amazing job!

As for the rest of the cast, they've done a great job. For the Cullens, I really think they chose great people. Ashley Greene is the perfect Alice. She's the one that I am the most confident about. That girl is too cute and too adorable for her own good. Ashley is going to be a great Alice! (I can't even put my thoughts clearly... That's how much I love her! wink.gif ) Kellan Lutz as Emmett is brilliant, he has that big bear personality but he's still ready to get down to business when necessary- the perfect Emmett. From interviews and whatnot, he seems so funny and just so Emmett-y. Peter Facinelli is Carlisle to a t. He just has that Carlisle aura around him. He's so fatherly, and wise, and... smooth. (tongue.gif) Nikki Reed definitely looks the part of Rosalie, though she doesn't seem quite as bitter as Rosalie. For those of you who know Jackson Rathbone is going to be Jasper and have seen the pictures, the only thing I can say is this: The hair?!? ( mellow.gif laugh.gif ) Elizabeth Reaser I don't know a lot about for Esme... She seems to be the only one we aren't hearing much about. (For us in the Twi-verse) She looks pretty motherly though, which is good. Oh, and I just wanted to say, Micheal Welch for Mike Newton is exactly how I pictured. And I mean, exactly. It was so creepy... He's going to be great.

Hehe, sorry, I have a lot of opinions on the cast! I'll stop now before I rant more...

Jacob or Edward?
Edward.

How did Janet put it?
QUOTE("passerby")
I think Jacob is okay, and he's been a great friend to Bella, but he also works in a very self-serving way.

Yeah, that was it. smile.gif (Janet, it's so not fair that you can put down my thoughts so eloquently mad.gif )

What did you guys think of the chapter she's written from Edward's perspective on her site?
I think it's fantastic! It was wonderful to get a glimpse into Edward's mind and to understand what he was feeling upon meeting Bella. I think it's so interesting that we can get little bits and pieces about the others, but Edward is the only one, at least I, can never seem to predict. He seems so much in his own mind, so reserved. It seems like the only person he really, truly trusts is Carlisle. And of course, Carlisle is a stone so Bella would never be able to get information out of him really. I loved hearing what was going through Edward's mind when he saw Bella, it was great! Now we can only hope that they put the quick-publish stamp on it and get it out to us ASAP!

I think it would be mostly from Bella's, if not all the way. I think the final chapter was really just to give us insight of what Jacob was feeling, as Bella was no longer in contact with him so neither were we. I feel like I read somewhere that if Stephenie manages to extend her contract, she'll write more books about other people from a different perspective, meaning that Bella and Edward's story (though they'll always have their part) will be done.

Now that I'm typing this, though, it makes sense that it would be somewhat of a split. I mean, I can't imagine Bella making up with Jacob so quickly, so we, as the observers, have to get some insight on what Jacob is up to. I don't think I could handle it if Jacob narrated though... On the other hand, she wasn't really talking to him until half way through Eclipse and that turned out fine, we didn't really need to know what he was doing.

Do you think Carlisle is right about the soul of a vampire?
I do, I absolutely, positively agree with Carlisle. You guys have had great responses to this one, so I'll try to keep this out of range of a novella. (As this post seems to be becoming) I just wanted to add that a very wise person once said to me (laugh.gif) that if someone is truly on the search for good it doesn't matter what hand their dealt. And I think this is perfectly applicable to this situation.

Now that Victoria and the others are gone, who do you think will be the villain in the next book?
We definitely have Jacob, which is just a problem in and of itself. dry.gif

Other than that, I think the Volturi are definitely their biggest threat at this point. I think it's incredibly interesting that, although we know Alec's power is to find people. We don't know exactly how far that goes. I think it was somewhere in New Moon that they referred to him as their "secret weapon". That is oh so interesting to me. We know that he can find something, but I think there is something else to it. Why is he so powerful? Why are he and Jane the terrible twins? I think those questions will be addressed in Breaking Dawn. Along with Edward fighting Bella over the wedding and Bella fighting Alice over wedding details! rolleyes.gif

Do you think Bella's sensitivity to blood/the smell of blood will carry over to her vampire state if she's turned? How do you think it will affect her?
This question is really interesting to me and it's definitely something I've thought about since reading the books. I have quite a few theories about it, but I've been writing this post for a while (by the way, if you're still reading it, I love you!) and have some homework to finish so it'll have to wait until tomorrow because I have quite a few things to say about this one!

Oh, and I wanted to bump Anita's questions because I'm curious about them as well! (I'll get to those too! I'm sorry! I'm so busy) And the videos she linked to are amazing! I have both downloaded and watch them obsessively...

What do you think Bella's power will be, if she gets changed and actually gets one on her vampire life?

Who is your favorite character, and why?

`hehehe, he is starting on GoF tonight. He actually made me drive the 30 minutes to the nearest Barnes and Noble to buy him his copy.

~Is there a website that has photos of the cast? I have no idea who you are talking about in this post except of course for Robert. I mean who are these people?
Oh, when I was at the bookstore this evening I pre ordered my copy of Breaking Dawn! The sales clerk said that it seems to be generating quite a bit of presale activity and then she commented on how crazy the release for Harry Potter was this summer. I wonder if that means they will have a release party for the book in August?
Hilly
Duh!! I meant to post the picture... We have a couple of pictures of the Cullens, these are from early one though and meant to be a "spring board" of the cast. (Costumes, how they look together, etc)
Picture One- From Left to Right: Emmett, Rosalie, Esme, Edward, Carlisle, Alice, Jasper.
Picture Two
Picture Three (Notice the golden eyes! heart.gif )

So far, no official individual ones, but I can scavenge some up tomorrow. happy.gif

As for the book release, as far as I know, Borders is the only bookstore so far that has made an official statement that they will have a midnight release party at many of their stores. Though, it would really surprise me if the other big bookstores (ie. Barnes and Noble) didn't have midnight parties as well, especially with all this buzz about the movie. I would expect there to be one close by, Amanda. wink.gif

Could someone post a link to this, because i've searched and searched and can't find it. dry.gif It's seriously annoying me because it sounds awesome.

Do you think Bella's sensitivity to blood/the smell of blood will carry over to her vampire state if she's turned? How do you think it will affect her?

This is an interesting question ... i think that Bella will be unique in her own way anyway, because she chose to be a vampire before hand (which Alice said she has never heard of before). Add her dislike for blood, and i think Bella will be able to resist blood a lot easier than other newborns. Of course she'll get out of control at least 50 times, but she'll find it easier to resist.

Well that's what i think.

With the whole midnight release thing, does that mean it will come out like DH did at the same time? Probably not i'm thinking. Does anyone just so happen to know when it comes out in New Zealand? rolleyes.gif

I sound so un-informed.

I have managed to get two people into Twilight since i read it all ready. My best friend, and my class buddy. Both loved it, so i don't think we should give up hope that no guys would read it (ok, so neither of my friends are guys, but there was this one guy in my English class who sounded interested, so you never know, right?). happy.gif

Moon(I luv you Luna), here's the link to the first chapter of Midnight Sun, Edward's POV of Twilight: look here! If it doesn't work, click here and scroll down the page to the bottom, there's another link there.

My contribution for today is a video from Associated Press regarding a visit to the set. Check it out here.

Now, I've only gotten a couple of people to read the books, and they are from the fora, so girls, you know who you are! wink.gif My closest friends said that at least they'll come with me to watch the movie when it's released, but won't go as far as to read the books... Sad...

Do you think Bella's sensitivity to blood/the smell of blood will carry over to her vampire state if she's turned? How do you think it will affect her?

When I first learned that Bella had this aversion for blood, I thought, well, here's this girl's salvation! What a great strength for her as a vampire, especially if some attributes are strengthened when one becomes a vampire, maybe this will be her special trait! And I would love for that to happen! Wouldn't it simply be great? She'll have it easier than, let's say Jasper, who is constantly struggling to not eat his fellow classmates, without talking about the normal desire that the rest of them have for other people's blood.

I'm not saying that this is what I think her special power as a vampire, no, but it could be something that might make her feel happier about herself as a vampire, because she has to become one, or else, you know what will happen to my copy of Breaking Dawn...

What do you think Bella's power will be, if she gets changed and actually gets one on her vampire life?

I believe in the closed mind theory. Since she has a very private mind, she'll be able to make some sort of shield that will protect her from the special abilities that those super cool vampires can't work on her now. Okay, so that's not new, but, let's be super creative here, maybe she'll be able to turn those powers on the vampires who use them on her? Let's say, like inflict pain upon Jane, or maybe even read Edward's thoughts? (Ok, that one was too far-fetched, even I know that...) Or, maybe, share that protective shield with anyone she wants? Like, when she's near Jane, if Jane tries to hurt Edward, she might avoid it? Anyways, just crazy thoughts here. (If you'd like another one, try becoming invisible... Yeah, I can be excessively creative sometimes...)

Who is your favorite character, and why?

Alice. I just love her. She's the perfect friend and the perfect sister. She's funny, smart and really outgoing! She's got tons of personality, and I feel like she's got a life of her own! So sweet and caring towards every family member, and even to a stranger like Bella, and she even gets to be nice to strangers like the other students from their year! She adds a lot of entertainment to the whole series!

On the other hand, I'm dazzled by Emmett... But that's another story...
Moon(I luv you Luna)
Kaitlyn, thanks for the link. That chapter was super amazing-i knew Edward would've been thinking about killing Bella in Biology, but geez ... that kind of proves he over-thinks everything. rolleyes.gif

Do you think Bella's sensitivity to blood/the smell of blood will carry over to her vampire state if she's turned? How do you think it will affect her?

i don't think so because she will thrist for it but it might help her control herself if it does affect her...

What do you think Bella's power will be, if she gets changed and actually gets one on her vampire life?

ummmmmm i'll have to say no powers because she will kind of be the same person only she won't be human...... nothing will affect her mind though...

Who is your favorite character, and why?

i know many of you will hate me for saying this but i LOVE Jacob.... he's awesoome and he wants Bella not to give up everything she knows..... and if you've read the short desciption of new moon from Jake's point of view you actually want Bella to be with him..... i know i'm evil..... i'll just run into the forest and look for my werewolf sweetheart... biggrin.gif

Bella: vampire or human in Breaking Dawn?

why do you even ask this question????? V-a-m-p-i-r-e!!! Bella put it into vote and made conditions with Edward already...

Was Edward justified in leaving?

if you've read the part one her website you'll see it was all to protect Bella no matter how painful it was for the both of them

Favorite part of the series in the books so far?

ummmmm can i say all of it?
Edit:
Jacob or Edward?
she picks Edward....but her love with Jake makes her love with Edward stronger......
poor lonely werewolf Jacob *tears*

ok i know i have probably gotten on everyones nervers.... but I have a few questions!!

1) where will Edward bit Bella (if he does....)
2) will Jacob find love
3) will Bella find someone who bllod smells the way Edward's did to her and possiblity leave Edward
4) how many people will Bella kill before she can control herself
5) will Bella go after Jacob
6) will Alice go crazy decorating for the wedding
7) will Bella ever find out she has 2 big dimonds on her

owl me if you want to discuss with me!!!! oooo and if you really want you can call me the evil one since i love Jake soooo much

and is anyone getting/has Bella's bracelet..... i'm getting mine soon!!!!

Bella: vampire or human in Breaking Dawn?
i think at that close to end she'll be bitten (im hoping so)

Was Edward justified in leaving?
I think that he shouldn't have left her, because loving her as much as he does, he must've known how much it would hurt her. But i think that yes he did have a reason

Favorite part of the series in the books so far?
Definitely the part in the meadow in Twilight! That chapter was amazing

What do you think of the cast for the movie?
I love it except im not quite sure if kristen stuart can pull off everything! (don't hurt me, but i am a little worried about rob pattinson as well)

Jacob or Edward? (You had to see that one coming... )
omg! how can you ask that?? Definitely Edward!! I have to say that i was disappointed in eclipse for having all of the jacob parts in it! Twilight was perfect because bella and edward were so sweet and it was so simple and easy to see, but stephenie meyers definitely disappointed me! She makes it seem like Edward and Bella aren't as in love now! I need the simplicity between Edward and Bella again!
PottyHead
I'm relatively new to the Twilight series but I have to say - adore it!!!

Do you think Bella's sensitivity to blood/the smell of blood will carry over to her vampire state if she's turned? How do you think it will affect her?

I think that it will be, and i reckon that it might complicate things at first, giving her a huge thirst for human blood. Though I think it could also have its benefits, like help them in tracking and things like that.

What do you think Bella's power will be, if she gets changed and actually gets one on her vampire life?

I think a few people have the same theory as me, but seeing as none of the vampires can use their power against her I think that this will be her power. That she can not only use it for her own protection, but that she could be able to create a sort of, protective shield, like a wizard using Protego in HP, so that she can stop powers being used against other people/vampires and that (again like Protego) she'll also be able to use it to turn the power against the user, don't if that theory's been put out there already but I do think that she will be able to turn their powers against them.

Bella: vampire or human in Breaking Dawn?

VAMPIRE!! I'm sorry, but if she doesn't get turned then the series will be ruined for me. It would be too generic to keep her human, every vampire series is all 'noooooo can't turn them, that would be too tragic' or if they do then its something minor and that character isnt seen much again. We need a human to get turned properly! Plus I think I read somewhere that she's definatley getting changed. I don't mean to sound pervy, its meant to be cute, but if she does it means they can finally have sex, and have a true physical relationship which would be yayy!

Was Edward justified in leaving?

Yes. He wanted to keep Bella safe and he thought it would be for the best. Just because it screwed her up, and him, and it was the totally wrong decision and I still haven't forgiven him for it doesn't mean it wasn't justified. He just shouldn't have done it dry.gif

Jacob or Edward? (You had to see that one coming... )

It actually infuriates me that Jacob was ever a choice. I was talking about this with a friend today and we both said definatley Edward! Not just because he's perfect, and hot, and absolutley amazing *swoons* But, well it just HAS to be Edward... there's no way of explaining it it just has to be him. Even if he left her, he was still completley in love with her and they're just the cutest *glares at Bella... I want him*

aww... that's all I have time for sad.gif

But I absolutely LOVE Twilight, in some ways it's better than HP for me... But I think they're both tied first for me... Stephanie Meyer is such a great writer, I mean like, reading the books I felt every emotion that Bella felt, when I read New Moon and Edward left and she was all zombie like and empty I felt the same way. I was reading it in school at the time during a free period and had to put the book down and go to lessons, and for the rest of the day I had this totally empty feeling.. she's seriously a great writer!

Edit - I was watching The Constant Gardener the other day, and Ralph Fiennes in that really looked the way I imagined Carlisle to look, I love Peter's look (and he is incredibly gorgeous) but Ralph has a certain something that's very Carlisley to me, and I was also watching The Covenant this morning and the guy who played Reid - Tim Hemingway or something? - looked the way I imagined Jasper to look. If I could have my own perfect cast (not that I don't love the cast they have - it is brilliant) then those two would be in it.
Pawprint
I was very skeptic about the whole casting before. I have to admit that my favorite character is Alice and she was the only one being cast which with I was completely confident. It really bothered me that James was more good looking than Edward because even the author herself said that James was a very average-looking vampire, which was weird given the fact that vampires chose to change only very special humans.

Anyway, that's what usually happens to me when I fall in love with a book and some bright mind happens to think that making a Movie version of it is a good idea. I had these same fears with the whole HP series and I hated Emma Watson because she was pretty when she was originally cast, but now I cannot think of a better Hermione. smile.gif

I was in a lot of doubt when total strangers were cast to play my favorite vampires, and couldn't help but remember Interview with a Vampire, so my problem was thinking of a bronze haired Brad Pitt from Meet Joe Black (same hairstyle and all) with the white makeup from his portrayal of Louis fighting the really handsome Antonio Banderas (from that same vampire movie) over a Kate Hudson look alike with brown hair. (Weird, I know, but that was my movie idea for Twilight..)

Most of my doubts have bee removed from my head after watching this awesome video from MTV today, and I believe that the same will happen as it did with HP for me: the first movie will rock, the second won't be so good, and from then on, they will be pretty good. But that is only what I think.

Either way, as with both Series, I read them and see them on my mind in a way (the cool one) and then there's the movies, which are a lot of fun, but not quite the same. smile.gif

EDIT: If you can't see the video in the link above, here is the link to the same video on Youtube.

Hey guys! I actually just started reading Twilight two days ago, so its kind of hard for me to answer any of the questions that were asked. When I first heard about the books, I really didn't think that I would like them because I'm not a big romance person. But then my friends kept telling me how good it was and I decided to read the first one. Its very good so far and I am quite enjoying it. Its creative and original and mysterious and cool. I'll post more when I'm actually done with the series. Sorry that I couldn't contribute more.

So I found this thread finally! I just discovered the books a couple of weeks ago and once I found them I finished in less than 3 days. I'm very attached to them, and as much as HP was my world for all those years and I have a home here at VTM, Twilight has definitely taken top spot for me. Sadly because of my addiction I feel the need to answer every single question posted so far. *sigh* It'll be good when Breaking Dawn comes out. I'm just a little bit antsy for it right now.

Bella: vampire or human in Breaking Dawn?
She had better become a vampire! As Kelly said, everyone in the books says "No that's a bad thing" etc. etc. so we do need someone turned properly. I find too that the book may be a little boring if she doesn't end up being changed, after all there are so many promises and open things that need to be tied up! And after all this build up, right from the end of the first book, it would be such a let down if it didn't happen. And I read something about if they pull a Tuck Everlasting- that would really make me mad. I would chuck the book at the wall and have fit right where I was.

Was Edward justified in leaving?
I think he was justified because he has always been so concerned for Bella's safety, and his was always afraid that her close proximity to his family would be a bad thing. The incident at her birthday party just put things into perspective for him and he overreacted, as he normally does when it comes to her. Though I wasn't happy with it, I understand why he did it.

Favorite part of the series in the books so far?
I have many favourite parts, but my most favourite are; the chapter where she learns the truth in Port Angeles, the pivotal meadow scene, the chapter "Mind Over Matter" (the chapter after the meadow scene, the chapter the night after they get back from Italy, and the chapter "Compromise" in Eclipse. All for various reasons, the number one reason being that they are key points in strengthening Bella and Edward's relationship.

What do you think of the cast for the movie?
At first I was apprehensive, just because when they make books into movies they don't often come out as I had hoped. But after letting the results of casting stew in my head for a while and reading news releases, I have come to like Rob and Kristen and I think they'll do a great job. Ashley Greene as Alice and Kellan Lutz as Emmett=great. Jackson Rathbone as Jasper is quite shocking but now that I see it, it definitely works. He looks a lot older in the movie pics than he does in normal ones. tongue.gif I have many opinions on the cast but I won't rant here.

Jacob or Edward?
Again like Kelly, I was angry that Jacob was ever a choice. He is a nice kid and everything, but he just irked me. I guess that's because I love Edward for Bella so much more. And in Eclipse when he kept trying to undermine Bella and Edward's relationship to get her to ove him, that really made me mad. I was literally screaming at the book, telling Bella not to listen to him. (Yes I'm book-crazy.)

What did you guys think of the chapter she's written from Edward's perspective on her site?
Amazing. It's written exactly as I'd always perceived Edward. I think if it ever comes out I'll be incredibly satisfied.

Based on the final chapter of "Eclipse" where she's switched perspectives, do you think the final story will still be from Bella's perspective, from Jacob's, or perhaps a split? How would you feel about it if it were from Jacob's perspective?
She has said that Breaking Dawn is the last book from Bella's perspective so I can assume that it won't all be from his perspective. I really hope it continues to be all in her perspective, again there's a lot of unanswered questions. And I like to think that the epilogue in Jacob's perspective was a foreshadow to inform us of things in the next book, so that way when Bella finds out that he's run away, we'll already know why. At least that's what I hope.

Do you think Carlisle is right about the soul of a vampire?
Yes. It seems plausible, I mean after all even though they will live for eternity, that's just because of the fact that they are vampires. All of their organs, senses, nerves, and their brain is still functioning, the vampire traits seem like side effects. I firmly believe that they have a soul, they act just like humans mostly, except for those darn "side effects."

Now that Victoria and the others are gone, who do you think will be the villain in the next book?
I think the Volturi will be involved again, and maybe another evil that they hadn't thought of will be introduced. It seems likely.

Who is your favorite character, and why?
I have 2 favourite characters. Alice and Jasper. I like Alice because she's so bubbly and her personality brightens up a room. Even though she has no recollection of her human life, she makes the most of everything she has and she likes to use Bella to live some human like things. (I'm thinking of the makeovers). I like Jasper because even though he's quiet, there's something intriguing about him. I have always liked him and I was glad when we got to learn about his past in Eclipse. His and Alice's powers are amazing. I especially would like the ability to influence people's emotions. That would come in handy for sure!

Do you think Bella's sensitivity to blood/the smell of blood will carry over to her vampire state if she's turned? How do you think it will affect her?
Hmm I've definitely been thinking about this for a while. It seems like a key point that will ultimately come into play. This is just another one of the clues that lead me to believe that she will be turned. But anyway...I think that maybe she'll be less affected by human blood because now she'll be able to smell it so much stronger. It'll help her in the long run and she'll adapt to the Cullens lifestyle more quickly. And she'll be over the whole crazed newborn vampire so much faster.

I've been to websites dedicated to Twilight but I must say their forums aren't nearly as organized as VTM which is why I was so excited to find a thread where I could actually have a great discussion about it. So I have a couple questions of my own.

How much of an impact do you think Jacob will have in Breaking Dawn? Do you think that he will come back and try to stop the wedding, will he come back but leave her in peace, or will he not come back at all? Or do you have an entirely different theory?

Do you think Jacob will ever imprint? Will it allow peace to come between he and Bella?

Do you think we'll learn more about Alec?

I have more but I forgot them. Oh well. sleep.gif

Wow! Looks like this thread is doing pretty good. Glad to see that there are quite a few Twilight fans among us. smile.gif

Taylor, thanks for the pics. That was the first I had seen of the cast for the movie, with the exception of "Edward". I just have to comment on them, though. biggrin.gif

Alice-I absolutely love the girl playing her. I think she's perfect, exactly how I imagined her.

Jasper-I wasn't too thrilled with him when I first saw the pic, but he's starting to grow on me. I think he can pull it off.

Rosalie-I think she looks pretty good. Heck, she's blonde and beautiful. Kind of hard to mess that up. tongue.gif Hee hee.

Emmett-Hmmm... Not too impressed with this guy. I pictured him, from the books descriptions, as being much bigger, more muscular. But, the guy does seem to have a good face. Well see.

Esme and Carlisle-I know they aren't supposed to be that old, but I still pictured them a little bit older than the actors portraying them. Even then, I'm still not sold on them. I thought Esme would look more motherly and Carlisle would look a little wiser or something. Hard to explain.

Edward-No, I don't think I fully buy into him being Edward. They had a couple of other actors lined up before or cast that looked way better and more believing to the part. But, maybe the movie coming out and watching him act will change my opinion. Afterall, if he can pull off the character to a tee, I can overlook his lack of Edward's certain handsome flare.
Pawprint
Thank you Laura! Thank you so so much! biggrin.gif I thought I was the only one not fully convinced of Robert Pattinson as Edward! I thought people here might try and kick me out of the thread! I've seen a couple of MTV interviews, and I remember him as Cedric, and well, he didn't match my Cedric either, but Cedric isn't supposed to be the most handsome creature on Earth...

Anyway, if he can pull out the part, I'll forgive him for not being handsome enough... I just wish he didn't talk in between takes... Certainly subtracts credibility for me as an Edward... just follow the script and look pretty... (enough trashing! Yes, I would have wanted someone else as Edward, someone more masculine-looking maybe...) He'll make it... He's a good actor.

I also love the girl they picked for Alice, even if I always thought of Alice as Rachel Leigh Cook, I think she is definitely perfect for the part! Now she has become my mental image for Alice! I can even imagine her behind the wheel of a yellow Porshe!

Now I'll answer some of the new questions:
Do you think Jacob will ever imprint? Will it allow peace to come between he and Bella?
I think Jacob won't imprint until after he has tried to ruin Bella's wedding. Yes, I think he'll give it a last try. I don't really like Jacob, and his brute manners annoy me to no end, and I totally believe he'll arrive late to the wedding and make a display, if not at the same time as the Volturi and complicate things. The book can't come in as ideal as I want it to, so there's got to be some action, and Jacob has to be involved in it. Afterwards, he will imprint on someone else, and finally let Bella be happy with our beloved vampire. smile.gif

Do you think we'll learn more about Alec?
Yes, we still don't know his power, but it's got to be something special and different. Also, it has to be essential (or else the Volturi wouldn't keep him) and has to be something physical: it has to affect Bella, she can't be so extremely powerful, can she?
passerby
QUOTE

Not sure what you mean here. Do you mean he's adding to the script?

I don't have a problem with him as Edward, but I think it's totally due to his cheek bones. Don't ask. I can't explain. His hair is annoying. Which is minor, but still annoying.

I thought the same thing, Laura, about Esme and Carlisle. I thought they would look a tad older. Not by much, but a bit. I mean, he should at least look old enough to have a medical degree!

Do you think Jacob will ever imprint? Will it allow peace to come between he and Bella? I think he might. I think once she turns, though, imprinting won't help. He's going to have enough issues with her being a vampire. . . Also, unlike you, Kaitlyn, I don't think he's going to try to mess with the wedding. I'm probably wrong, but I don't see him causing a big scene. If he does crash the wedding, it had better be after their good and married, though!

QUOTE
Do you think we'll learn more about Alec?
I agree with Kaitlyn!
Insomnia
Whew! Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that, too, about Edward, Carlisle, and Esme. I do see your point about the cheekbones, though, Janet. smile.gif

Do you think we'll learn more about Alec?

I agree. There's got to still be a role for him to play. The Volturi made the comment that Bella would be the greatest find since Jane and Alec. Well, we know what Jane does, but not Alec. So, it stands to reason that he must come into play in the next book.

And, again, I agree. It must be a power that will affect Bella. It's the only thing I can think of as to why we haven't been shown his power yet. Bella's been pretty much resistant so far. Can't last forever.

Now, the question is, will it be revealed before or after Bella changes (if she does...and she better!)? Maybe his power only works on vampires so that's why we haven't seen it?

Ok, so here's the thing... I've got issues, I know so, and often, when I read a book, I go into book mode, and when I watch the movie adaptation of the book, I have to go into movie mode.

My problem with the actor playing Edward is that he doesn't really come close to the mental image I had of Edward (I totally understand that Edward is a really tough character to play given the description, but I'm totally okay with Nikki Reed being the most beautiful being in the world/Rosalie), and his lack of seriousness when being interviewed annoys me to no end. The other actors look like serious people, answer the questions, play along, but it's just that. Whenever he rambles without sense and laughs uncontrollably for no particular reason, I remember how much unlike Edward he is, but he's not Edward, so that was my basic complaint (it's even harder for me to think of him as Edward in a movie-mode like way). In a summary, I know I've got issues...

Oh Janet! And the hair too! His hair bugs me! He looks as if his head was sucked by one of those hair drying machines in salons! Why can't it only be messy, a la Harry/James Potter?

Laura, I totally agree with you on the Alec business!

Now, the question is, will it be revealed before or after Bella changes (if she does...and she better!)? Maybe his power only works on vampires so that's why we haven't seen it?

This is very interesting... I never actually gave it any thought, but you're so right! Maybe that's the reason why it wasn't revealed before! It's got to work on vampires only. Do you think that Edward knows what Alec's power is? He has certainly been inside of Alec's mind, and maybe at some point Aro would have thought of trying his power on Bella too. Mmm, you've made me think about those things. biggrin.gif

hi again.
will Alec be seen again?
sure why not we could learn more about vampire stuggles
Will Jacob imprint?
i hope so.... he needs someone to love him but i don't think so because he's chosen to live forever as a werewolf....
Peace between Jacob and Bella?
Jake might forget about her but Bella won't. she'll always think about him and if she had chosen to live as a human instead of a vampire...

Some of my questions:
1) where will Edward bit Bella (if he does....)
2) will Jacob find love
3) will Bella find someone who blood smells the way Edward's did to her and possiblity leave Edward
4) how many people will Bella kill before she can control herself
5) will Bella go after Jacob
6) will Alice go crazy decorating for the wedding
7) will Bella ever find out she has 2 big dimonds on her

does anyone have the speical edition to Eclipse? if so please post the first chapter of Breaking Dawn.... and i got Bella's bracelet! i love it and i never tke it off!

There's always that trouble when you've got a book that you love so much. . .the actors chosen to portray the character don't often live up to the expectation the reader had of the character! And there's nothing wrong with thinking that an actor is wrong for the character, but hopefully he'll prove that he can carry the role so it will at least be bearable for you! With both HP and with Twilight, I already knew the actors who were portraying the characters (up until the last three books, anyways), so I kind of read them with those features in mind. Not that I thought the actors epitomize the characters, but going into it with the expectation of the actor, I think it's easier for me to accept him. (And boy, that sentence was horrible, and I hope it was understood!) smile.gif

QUOTE

I don't think she'll always think of him and wonder about what her life would be like. I think she'll think of him because he was her best friend, and I think she'll wish things could have turned out in such a way that they could have remained friends, but I think that she's confident enough of her decision that she's not going to pine for Jacob while she's with Edward.

1) where will Edward bit Bella (if he does....) Do you mean on the body or place?
2) will Jacob find loveYes, I believe he will.
3) will Bella find someone who blood smells the way Edward's did to her and possiblity leave EdwardNope, I don't think so. From what I understand it's pretty odd. I just don't see it happening.
4) how many people will Bella kill before she can control herself I'm going to guess a zero. I don't think she'll kill anyone. (GO BELLA!)
5) will Bella go after JacobNo. He knows where she stands, and now she's sure of where she stands. She left the ball totally in his court regarding their friendship, so it will be up to him to extend his hand and let go of his feelings for her.
6) will Alice go crazy decorating for the weddingYES! I can't wait to see it!
7) will Bella ever find out she has 2 big dimonds on herYes. I think so.

What you guys said about Carlisle and Esme- I sort of disagree, I think that Peter Facinelli is the perfect Carlisle! He just seems so... doctor-ish. I really like Peter, he has the air of an educated, empathetic vampire. By the way, he is the oldest of the actors for the Cullens. And Esme, well, we haven't really seen much of her and from what I hear, she has next to no roll in the movie.

About Rob- well, I'll be honest, three months ago (give or take) when I found out they were making a movie, I was in the same boat as you. I didn't think he could pull it off and was honestly a little disgusted that he was chosen to be Edward. But the more I thought about it and the more I saw of his acting (Mainly The Haunted Airman), I think he can pull off a really great Eddy! I'm still the tiniest bit skeptic, but I decided it doesn't matter, he's going to be fantastic.

I just wanted to say again that I absolutely adore Ashley Greene as Alice! wub.gif

I'm curious, Laura, have you read any interviews with Kellan Lutz (Emmett)? I thought the same thing that you did, physical appearance wise. But personality wise, Kellan is the carbon copy of Emmett! He is so playful and friendly!

Now, Jackson for Jasper? He is the one I have the most doubts about... I just can't quite get myself to accept him as Jasper...

Question Time!

How much of an impact do you think Jacob will have in Breaking Dawn? Do you think that he will come back and try to stop the wedding, will he come back but leave her in peace, or will he not come back at all? Or do you have an entirely different theory?

I think it really depends on how much Bella thinks about him, since I'm guessing it's going to be mostly from her perspective. The reason being I don't think that Jake will try to come back into her life anytime soon. I don't think he'll be chasing after her like he did in Eclipse. I do however think that before the wedding, he's going to fight really hard with/for her. He's going to be distant and suddenly come back and have a pretty indepth discussion with her about choices. (that sounded so cheesy... I hope you get what I'm trying to say!)

Do you think Jacob will ever imprint? Will it allow peace to come between he and Bella?
No, I don't believe he will. Obviously that means no peace for Jake about Bella.

Do you think we'll learn more about Alec?
I was just talking to my friend about this on Friday... I definitely think we will! He is the "secret weapon" after all! If that doesn't foreshadow more of an explanation, I don't know what does!

1) where will Edward bit Bella (if he does....)
I've always thought he would bite her on the neck (call it a cliche, but come on... what else would you expect?) and part of me feels like it will be at the meadow.

2) will Jacob find love
I'm a pessimist, but no.

3) will Bella find someone who blood smells the way Edward's did to her and possibility leave Edward
Definitely not. I think that she's so devoted to Edward there is no possible way that she'll ever find someone who has that smell. Just as Edward was meant to be with Bella, it goes the other way. When she turns, I bet you Edward will be her singer! wink.gif

4) how many people will Bella kill before she can control herself
Yikes! I'm going to agree with Janet! ZERO! (Plus, I think the Cullens can keep her in control)

5) will Bella go after Jacob
I bet she'll think about it, but no, I don't think she'll actually chase after him.

6) will Alice go crazy decorating for the wedding
DUH! cool.gif

7) will Bella ever find out she has 2 big dimonds on her
I sure hope so...

The special edition of Eclipse actually comes out on May 31st, so that means that the first chapter of Breaking Dawn comes out the same day! (Note that this will NOT be posted online. ie. Stephenie's site)

Oh, and another fun tidbit, the teaser trailer of Twilight is set to come out this Friday before the movie Speed Racer. It's also going to be on the official movie website (which is pretty blank right now...) So you don't actually have to see Speed Racer, unless of course, you want to see Twilight on the big screen. (The transcript of the trailer is floating around the net, but I wouldn't go looking for it if you don' t want to be spoiled. I think it's also been taken of most sites for various reasons...)

Ahhhh!!!! How did I not find this thread sooner??!?!?!? Ok, now that im done freaking out...
So..... Here's some of my answers...
Where will Edward bite Bella? Well, fist of all, he better bite her or i mught throw my book out the window. And If you mean where on the body, then I would assume somewhere close to the heart. He said that the closer to heart the bite is, the quicker you change and since i'm assuming he wants her to go through as little pain as possible...

Will Jacob find love? I think so. It would just be cruel for him to live the rest of his elongated life wishing he had Bella.

Will Bella find someone whos blood smells the same way Edward's did to her and possible leave Edward? No way. I think that maybe it works like if they were switched Edward would smell really good to Bella, but since Bella was the human and Edward the vampire, Bella smelled good to Edward. Maybe thats a stupid idea, but thats how I always thoght of it, and if not, it is still pretty rare for it to happen.

How many people will Bella kill before she can control herself? I'm gonna go with none. First of all, she has Edward. He will be there to help her. Second of all, she is expecting it. She is preparing herself so that hopefully she will be away from people and she knows that she will want it so sahe can at least brace herself for it. Not to metion that Carlisle managed without expecting it or haveng someone to help him, so I think Bella should be ok.

Will Bella go after Jacob? No, I doubt it. She still wishes she could be friends with Jacob and she still cares about him. Its not like they hate eachother because they were some dramatic couple who broke up and now hate eachother. THey will just have the whole mortal enemy by nature thing. So I think that Bella will just stay away.

Will Alice go crazy decorating for the wedding? Absolutly 100% yes. I think that Bella will have to constantly have to remind her that this is Bella's wedding, not her's. I'm excited to see it!

Will Bella ever find out that she ahs two big diamonds on her? Eventually. I think that She will think to ask about it at some random point when she remembers the time that Alice almost let it slip and she'll wheedle it out of him in some way or another or go to Alice.

Well, I can't think of any questions to ask right now, but I MAY come up with some. THat is a maybe, im not good at coming uo with questions. Well, I think thats all I have to say for now.

You don't know how much i laughed when i read that-It does look really weird. laugh.gif

I'm assuming Edward will bite her somewhere symbolic (as Edward being Edward) and i agree jyliiibean, he'll want Bella to suffer as little as possible.

I think Jacob will find love. He can't go through all the Bella-stuff and not et his own happy ending (i know not many people are all for Team Jacob, but i thhink he still deserves at least someone to love). It might sound crazy, but i think he'd be goo with Leah, for some odd reason. Maybe it's because both of their hearts were broken? biggrin.gif

Will Alice go crazy decorating for the wedding?

Heck yeah! She'll always be like that (She looked like she would've cried if coudl've when she saw the vision of Edward and Bella marrying in Vegas, wasn't she?). I can't wait to see the wedding.

I'm not sure about the actors. Rob as Edward i don't seem to mind as much. I think he could pull off Edward-we'll just have to trust him and the rest. Kirsten as Bella i don't have a problem with. We all have different pictures in our head (I know i do) but she's pretty close to how i imagine Bella.

How much of an impact do you think Jacob will have in Breaking Dawn? Do you think that he will come back and try to stop the wedding, will he come back but leave her in peace, or will he not come back at all? Or do you have an entirely different theory?

As much as i desperatedly want him to just get over bella already, i don't think he will. He'll come to the wedding, i'm sure, pack a fuss, then leave. And he can pop up from time to time to create a bit of drama, especially when Bella has to leave Forks for the change (breaking the treaty and all that). Or that's my theory.

I am looking forward so much to this movie now. happy.gif

ok i'm sorry but i will have a huge problem if Jacob and Leah get together.... i mean Leah! come on! that little brat who reminds everyone how hurt she is for losing Sam... ugh! i want her to die in the next book or at least leave forever!!
on Bella killing people i think she will kill at least 10 people... cause young vampires are super strong and even Edward said that she would be stronger than Emmett..... the only person who might be able to control her i think would bw Jasper...
i think Bella will change towards the end of the book that might make people mad though
i have a feeling Edward might bite Bella where James bit her.... just 1 scar is ok and that could symbolize how dangerous and loving a vampire could be....in the meadow would be nice but i think they will do it somewhere far away from werewolves because that's werewolf land isn't it? Alice will go crazy for the wedding but how crazy and how mad will Bella be?
On Bella leaving Edward: i know that she won't leave him but Edward might leave her for a long time when she is still human to prepare himself... which might leave Bella to go looking for Jacob...... and Jake will have no idea and she will never say goodbye to him... but the night before the wedding Bella might bbe having 2nd thoughts.... and she might just run away... or get kidnapped... i think someone ( maybe from Alaska) will come and get her and try to kill her.... i hope Jacob doesn't become the villian.... that would be really bad sad.gif
if Jake comes after her and becomes the bad guy than he won't be stopped because Bella doesn't want him dead... and Edward wouldn't want to hurt Bella that way..... Wait what if the Volture takes Jake because they find out he's a werewolf! oooo and they want Bella to be the one who kills him! i couldn't imagine the pain that would give her .... she does love him and they are not just friends.. they had something together even if Bella didn't realize it until it was too late... i really wish Jacob could find someone in the woods (where he ran off to) and save her from a vampire that would be romantic.... but i don't think he will show up at the wedding because just hearing that he had lost Bella to a vampire made he so mad that he changed into a werewolf... that would add insult to injury (or something like that) and if you were Jake would you want to see your only love kissing your worst enemy? i mean come on people put on thier shoes and see how it would feel to leave someone so close to you and never able to see them again because you would have to kill them...

This has got to be my longest post ever! and thanks for telling me that the Eclipse special edition comes out later next month i've been looking for it ha ha ha....
O! and does anybody have any clue on these questions:
What happens if a werewolf imprints on a vampire? and What happens if a vampire bits a werewolf? ( i think the werewolf would have to be human at the time and survive)
Thanks
~Sarah!

I'm jumping in really fast because I should be doing something else, but I wanted to share a little information with my fellow Twilighters! I'll come back later and answer some questions. They are all very interesting!

A new promo picture has been released, here's the article, and here's a bigger picture. Looks too photoshopped for my taste (and I can totally see the cheeks thing here... blink.gif ) but it's got some feeling.

The movie guys invented a Crest for the Cullens, and all the vampires are supposedly sporting it in one way or the other. A closer look can be found here.

Supposedly we won't have to wait until the May 9th release of Speed Racer for the teaser trailer because MTV has something big planned for next Twilight Tuesday. You can read the article here. I surely hope so!

Enjoy! biggrin.gif

~Actually I think Jacob will have a huge impact in Breaking Dawn. I think he will do whatever he can to stop the wedding. I think it is also a fair assumption that Jacob will never leave Bella alone. He has proven that he can't/won't, even when she was point blank and candid about how she feels about him and Edward. He will always try to be with her. I mean, he got her to admit she loved him.

Do you think Jacob will ever imprint? Will it allow peace to come between he and Bella?

~This question may sound easy to answer and my answer is what if he already has? I mean what if he has imprinted on Bella? If this is true then that sort of sets up a conflict for the next book already doesn't it? Also, Jacob will never know peace and not allow peace to come to Bella and Edward

QUOTE(Insomnia @ Apr 26 2008, 02:57 PM)

~Oh I think Alec is something special. I also think that Carlise may know exactly what Alecs power is. The fact that he thinks Bella would be the greatest find since *ahem* Jane has me thinking that he already knows what powers will be attributed to Bella.

~Ummm, Sarah, I actually don't think a werewolf can imprint on a vampire. They are filthy to them remember? They have that smell that is so repulsive, I just can't see Jacob wanting to cozy up to a stinky Bella wink.gif
In Jacob's case though it is a bit different. He may have already imprinted upon her and since she is not yet a vampire the desire may be so strong for him that when she is eventually turned, it may not matter to him. Bella is like forbidden fruit to Jacob and if he has imprinted upon her, the commitment is already there on his side...he wouldn't be able to leave her alone. Remember also that imprinting also goes beyond just loving someone...it also takes on the role of super protector. I can't remember which wolf it was but he imprinted upon a two year old. He is her protector for life. Perhaps that is the curse of Jacobs love.

Thanks for the picture Anita! You are right...way too photoshopped but I think Alice pulls it off nicely. And what about the smoldering look on Jasper's face? I think the actor is going to have a sore face when his role is done...Jasper's character is so intense, I don't think he smiles much. I wanted to comment on the other photos way back on the first page of the thread. I think Emmett is too tiny. He is supposed to be this massive, muscular jock type guy...at least in my mind that's what I envisioned.

I hope someone posts the teaser trailer on this page...I am dreadful at finding those links myself.

Take care.

Well, I read at the Twilight Lexicon that the teaser trailer is not coming out tomorrow on MTV's Twilight Tuesday, but they do have a sneak peek at it here! Hope you guys like it! *See note below*

Also, if you go to twilightthemovie.com, after the tagline, a screen comes on and says that the teaser trailer will be there in a little bit less than 4 days.

So, for now, that's all we've got on the trailer... A couple more days, and we'll all be able to see it! Yay!

Gah. I want to go see it now! Why, oh, why can't I be one of the donut girls on set so I can be a part of cool things like this?? Seriously, that's all I wanted during the Lord of the Rings. Just to be the girl who hangs around and offers donuts to everyone and gets to be a part of something so fun!

Meh. Guess I'll just have to wait.

I don't think Jacob has imprinted on Bella. I'll have to go back for a stronger statement, I think, but it didn't seem to me that his feelings were related to his condition. When his pack members imprinted, it was pretty intense and very cut and dry. He was into Bella before he became a werewolf, and I don't get the same sense as I did from the ones we've seen.

I think Jacob will have some impact on Breaking Dawn, but I really don't think he'll try to stop the wedding. As annoying as I find him, I don't think he's the type of guy who would do that to her. I think he has to operate, now, as if he's lost her. We'll see, though. He might show up in wolf form and rip everything to shreds! He's a volatile guy.

EDIT: After finally having sat through the MTV snippets. . .what the heck is with Jacob's hair?? The wave has got to go!

Anita, I think that actually is the actually trailer. Isn't that movies generally do a quick teaser trailer after they finish filming to show everyone a quick bit of the movie? (And Twilight finished on Friday) Then they do another longer trailer, the theatrical trailer, closer to the release? I have read that everyone thinks it's just a sneak peak, but a teaser of the teaser? It makes no sense! I think what the site means is that they will post the trailer on their site in 4 days. Because, if I remember correctly, they haven't gone live yet. Maybe that's when they're planning to do it? That makes more sense to me...

Oh my gosh, Janet! I know what you mean? Don't you just wish you were the girl holding Robert's umbrella all the time? I do. This is why I hate my friend. For Lord of the Rings, her uncle worked on the CGI and graphics. He got her this really cool jacket that said something like "Team Ring" on the back. It's super awesome! And now, the same friend knows someone who is a costumer designer for Twilight. The head costumer actually. I told her she needs to get better aquainted with this person (she knows her sister) for future movie-possible-set visits. Anyway, after the person my friend knows went out to visit her sister on set (does that make sense?), she brought us both call sheets. I've never seen a call sheet, they're quite cool and I worship mine. tongue.gif laugh.gif

I think I've already said this, but just for kicks, I don't think that Jacob imprinted on Bella either. For the same reasons as already stated, but I also think that he simplies loves her. At least he thinks he does. It's nowhere near as strong as an imprint, which leads me to the other point that I don't think Jacob will imprint on anyone. I think he loves Bella so much (this of course, coming from his mind) that even an imprint won't compare to it. He's so distracted by his lost love, he won't allow himself to imprint. I also think while the idea of a werewolf imprinting on a vampire is intriguing, I don't think it can happen. I feel like I'm rambling today...

Jacob+Jasper=haircut.
Sirren
Today I finally broke down and viewed the teaser clip. Sigh. Robert Pattinson is just not my Edward. He's not tall enough, he's a bit too lean, his face is not fall-into-a-trance-worthy, and his voice is ALL wrong. That being said, he's certainly a handsome guy, he's just not Edward for me.

I've resisted viewing anything from the forthcoming movie, simply because I do not view him as a solid Edward. However, he was cast as Edward and I believe when I leave the movie I will have come to accept him as the chosen character. (please don't let me be wrong!)
passerby
But the imprint is just something happens. The person has absolutely no control over it. Sam was pretty serious about Leah before he imprinted on her cousin (Gah, Emily, maybe?), but when he imprinted, it just shifted his whole emotional relationship with Leah to something much stronger with, I'm going with, Emily. I don't think Jacob would be able to help it, no matter how strong are his feelings for Bella. I mean, his friend definitely wouldn't have wanted to imprint on a two-year-old if he had any control whatsoever over it, right? (I had a very good laugh at that part of the book.)

I'm not really for or against it, other than I hope he finds someone, other than Bella, to really cherish him and that it doesn't mess up my plans for the book. laugh.gif

So, the small thing you linked to is a teaser trailer, a short trailer that is usually released many months before a movie to give a brief peek at what the movie will be like and to build audience anticipation. Teaser trailers are usually much shorter than the final trailer, which reveals more of the storyline of the film. A sneak peek is something totally different, and trust me, if I could get to a sneak peek of this film, I most certainly would!
Sirren
I read the books last fall, so I've been backpeddling in the story to recall specifics.

No, I do not feel that Jacob has imprinted on anyone, especially Bella. He wants Bella, and he loves Bella, but he can be without her. I never got the impression once the imprint occurs that a werewolf would allow his "imprinted mate" to be with anyone else, rather he/she would lose control over the situation. For me, cleary Jacob is in control of himself around Bella, and he has effectively left Edward alone.

I do foresee Jacob becoming pack leader. It just has to happen. Sam offered it, Jacob declined it, yet I feel something will happen to Sam forcing Jacob to take the position that is his by birthright.

Thinking deeper, I had to revisit this issue. The treaty between Carlisle and the pack is specific in that no human be bitten. Jacob knows this. The wedding does not break the treaty, but Edward will if (WHEN) he bites Bella. This sticking point in the treaty may be the turning point for Jacob.

I've a sneaky suspicion the Volturi will be the uproar at the wedding, not the pack members.

As to Alec, the simple notion his power was not revealed and Bella was not a vampire at the time leads me to conclude Aro must know that Bella will either rival Alec's power or be vulnerable to it. The omission sets the scene for further conflict.

I agree with Janet: if Bella remains human I'll be very disappointed.

passerby
So many fun things to consider! I agree, Sirren, that the wedding will probably be compounded by the Volturi. We don't even know where Jacob is. I somehow think he'll stay far away from the wedding. Interesting idea about him becoming pack leader. Perhaps Sam's demise will be what calls him home. With the Volturi coming, who knows when that will be! The werewolves will definitely have a bunch of vampires on the loose.

I got my copy of "The Host" today. It sounds very intriguing, and as soon as I finish this other stupid book I'm reading, I'll probably devour it. smile.gif
Pawprint
Well, first I have to apologize for the whole teaser trailer-sneak peek thingy. I got confused over the "X amount of days until the official teaser trailer appears here or get at sneak peek at myspace now" from the site.

The whole idea of it being a teaser of the teaser that Taylor proposed made it click... Hahaha! You're great Taylor! hug.gif

Anyway, I want to comment on Dorthy's thought of Jacob becoming the pack leader... It's great! And I can see it coming, especially since he said he was not going back into his human form ever again (he did, right?) Sam's demise would probably the only way, he's not that bad of a guy (even though I very much dislike him), and he would never back up on that decision.

Also, I believe imprinting cannot be controlled (that thing with the baby was a great example Janet!), and I have this great conviction that Jacob was very much wishing to imprint on Bella, it could have probably been his biggest desire, but it never happened.

I still think that Jacob will come back for the wedding, and I think so because he was very very perseverant on the whole "pick me" thing with Bella, and now that he finally made Bella realize that she has feelings for him, he wouldn't give up... He's just too stubborn! (But that is just my idea.)

But I do wish he imprints! That way he'll just be put outside of the picture! twisted.gif

For me, the greatest enemy they will face, will be the Volturi. Alec's role will be really important, and it will not necessarily be revealed to us until he's standing at the Cullen's doorstep: the Cullens must already know about it through their "talents", and also through Carlisle's friendship with the big guys.

Remember at the beginning of New Moon, when Bella thought that she would have to leave Forks with Edward for a good amount of time because of her "transformation"? I think that's exactly what they would need to do once it all happens. Love won't be a good excuse for the Quileutes, but maybe Carlisle, with Jasper's help, might convince them that it was Bella and Edward's choice, and that is why they left. Or maybe they will all leave! (Billy Black already knows Bella's knowledge and intentions regarding the vampires.)

Keep the discussion coming!

EDIT: Have you guys seen the Twilight Tuesday surprise yet? It's the first poster, and you can check it out here! Enjoy!

Ok I have to comment on a lot of things or else I may go nuts from all the Twilight action. I watched the sneak peek teaser trailer today, actually 3 times. It seems a little odd that they have the sneak peek of the teaser trailer, then on Friday they are going to have the actual teaser trailer, and then later the actual trailer will come out. That's an awful lot of trailers don't you think? Not that I'm complaining obviously, I'd love it if the movie came out right now.

QUOTE
Today I finally broke down and viewed the teaser clip. Sigh. Robert Pattinson is just not my Edward. He's not tall enough, he's a bit too lean, his face is not fall-into-a-trance-worthy, and his voice is ALL wrong. That being said, he's certainly a handsome guy, he's just not Edward for me.

See that was my original reaction to Rob being cast as Edward. But then today after I watched the trailer a couple times I've come to see that he'll do a marvelous job. Of course it won't be the same as what most of us pictured in our heads, but that doesn't mean our whole perspective has to change does it? For me I compare this to the HP world. Some characters (Sirius) in the movie did not look like I had pictured them in the books. However when I read the books, the image of Sirius is not the one from the movie but rather the Sirius I had imagined. So even if Edward is different, for me it won't change how I perceive his character in the books.

And also about his voice- that was one of the major things I had an issue with at first. I had always pictured Edward's voice as being low and musical, basically as it was described. In the scenes there his voice was low and dark, but then again that was the mood of the scenes in the trailer. And after watching it a couple more times, it really does kind of work.

So after all my rambling on that, I just want to say that I've come to conclude that Rob will do a pretty good job. And another note; the scene of him watching Bella by the car.. *swoons* that was cute.

QUOTE
Looks too photoshopped for my taste (and I can totally see the cheeks thing here... ) but it's got some feeling.

I completely agree! In fact when I first saw it, I couldn't believe they'd actually release it like that. I mean it looks completely copy and pasted. Edward and Bella look alright, but in general the whole thing looks too dark and evil for my taste. And that's even taking into account that the story has some dark elements to it. Oh well, just my opinion.

About imprinting; I also agree that hopefully Jacob imprints on somebody worth imprinting on, maybe far far away?, and he leaves Bella alone. For this series to be completely closed for me, whether or not its the last book, Bella and Edward have to finish all their deals, and Jacob has to find somebody so I know for sure he won't try to kill them after they leave. It goes back the whole 'Will Bella be changed?' question.

Oh the movie poster that came out today is brilliant. That's what I'm talking about when I said I took into account that the story is dark. It's the perfect balance between everything. Am I making any sense at all with what I'm saying? shutup.gif

Just one more question... has anyone watched NoMoreMarbles videos on Twilight movie things? They're great. Just go on youtube and search her up, lots of videos to choose from. Anyway, I'm going to stop now before I ramble too much. smile.gif

Truthfully, I can overcome the difference in Robert's appearance verses the mental image I have of Edward, but the voice is the deal breaker for me. I am mostly confident that I will warm to him during my viewing of the movie, but his voice is all wrong for me. SM took great care to describe how deep and resonant Edward's voice should be, and Robert does not match it for me. Yes, I know it's tough to match a movie character to a book character, but I was hoping for something more. A dark-dyed River Phoenix could have played Edward vocally for me.

Although after sleeping on it, Alan Rickman could do a voice over for Robert, and Janet could still see his superb cheekbones!

However, I'm still eager to see the movie. I'll get past my irritation and enjoy it by December!

Janet, I just purchased Host myself yesterday. biggrin.gif It's started out pretty strange and a little slow so I really hope it picks up soon. You'll have to let me know what you think once you read it.

I hadn't thought about the idea of Jacob becoming pack leader in the next book. It certainly sounds like an excellent idea, though. However, I wonder if maybe Sam will step down from being a werewolf (stop allowing his transformations thus no longer being a werewolf) and this will cause Jacob to take over the pack leader role. I can't help but think that there must be something to the mention of how to stop being a werewolf and Sam being not quite strong enough to do it yet. Maybe Sam finally becomes strong enough and decides to do this so he doesn't run the risk of hurting Emily again.

Personally, I don't see Jacob trying to interfere at the wedding. Maybe he'll go, but I don't think he'll try to stop it. Really, I don't think the Volturi will try to stop it, either. Maybe they'll show up, though? If something does disrupt the wedding, I think it will be something completely different.

Ohhhh......so much stuff and trailers, and teaser trailers, and teaser teaser trailers, and posters.....I JUST WANT THE MOVIE!!!! sad.gif Huuu....oh well, guess ill just ave to wait like everyone else....
Anyway....now that im done being depressed that time doesnt move faster.....

THere has been a lot of talk about Jacob and if he will come to the wedding. I have my own theory. Its probably completely off, but its what I want to happen. I think that Jacob might slip in and just stand at the back right at the beginning of the ceremony. SOmething like Bella walks down the aisl and then sees jacob at the back when she gets to Edward.

Either that, or jacob comes and still sits in the back and the volturi come in right at the beginning (alec, jane...)and stand in the back and some confrontation starts up with them being all "polite" and congratulatiung them after the ceremony which turns into a fight and flight(for Bella and Edward) and jacob ends up protecting Bella one last time before she turns.

Well, now that I just wrote an entire chapter of the book for you.....THat just kind of is what I want to happen, and I have trouble limiting myself, so you get the whole scene. I'll try to restrain myself next time. tongue.gif

I also think that jacob shout find love and get his own happy ending, ,but I dont see it happening for some reason. I just see a tragic ending for him. Something like him dying and he's trying to protect Bella at the wedding for example. (She says, as she continues to write her own book) It would be really sad, and it would not be very nice of SM, but thats just what I think. Well arent I a right little ray of sunshine? biggrin.gif

And, I agree with Janet and whoever else said it(sorry!), obviously, I don't think that Jacob will be imprinting on anyone.

Well, I really can't think of anything else to say! So, I hope you don't all completely hateme for being so cruel saying that jacob will never find love and will die defending the one he can't have! wink.gif

p.s. what is this book The Host? My friend was talking about her mom getting it and I didnt think anything of it and now people here are talking about it! I wish to know about this book anticipated by so many people!
Moon(I luv you Luna)
Ok ... so there's a teaser of the teaser ... that makes sense how? Ah well, at leats we've gotten something now. I thought it was pretty good, but their voices were a lot different to how i imagine them. I think i'm convinced that Kirsten Stuwert will be a good Bella.

It is the new book Stephanie Meyer (the suthor of Twilight) is writing. You can find out about it here.

I can certainly imagine that. Jacob didn't want to be a werewolf in the first place, but i can really see this happening. I wonder if it'll be good for him ... probably, he needs a reason to live after Bella's turned. biggrin.gif

I agree completely. Edward's voice to me has always been comepltely *swoonsigh* every time i read the books. It's a lot different in the trailer. but then like you said, it does kind of match the scenes that were shown. I'm more interested in Bella's voice ... it doesn't sound very ... i dunno. It sound kind of flat. Does anyone get what i mean?

QUOTE(passerby)
I'm not really for or against it, other than I hope he finds someone, other than Bella, to really cherish him and that it doesn't mess up my plans for the book.

I agree-i hope Jacob finds someone or imprints on someone. He needs to get over bella in my opinion. rolleyes.gif

Rob i have to say looks exactly like how i imagined Edward. My Edward was just oozing vampire-goodness, but it's hard to compete with Anyone's Edward really (he's just so perfect in your mind). I think Rob is right up there, though. Kirsten wasn't how i imagined Bella, but i think she does pretty great for the role.

Enough rambling. happy.gif

I am not goingt to comment on anyone else's post as I haven't read them....reason being I only started reading Twilight about an hour ago. I just wanted to say, cripes, I am only 2 chapters in and can barely bare to put the book down, in fact, what am I doing on here? rolleyes.gif
nevillesgirl
Yea!!!! It's Elaine. Now shoo! We don't want to spoil anything for you at all!

Okay, I am totally frustrated because it seems that I am not able to view the trailer and I really want to see it. I am anxious to see how Rob does and not trying to be biased because of the Cedric Diggory character or anything.

As far as Jacob becoming the leader, I think that would be fantastic. He has natural ability even though he never wanted to be a werewolf to begin with. The only way I see this happening is if somehow Sam gets fatally injured in a fight and dies. Sams dying wish would be to plead with Jacob to take care of the pack.

Actually I still think that Jacob has imprinted on Bella already and will continue to protect her even when she is a vampire...he will not have a choice in that matter. I realize that I am most likely in the minority with that idea but hey, to each his own... happy.gif
Pawprint
Welcome Elaine! Yay!!! It's so good to have you here! But yes! Don't look back... You don't want to find out about anything before time! wink.gif

Amanda, here is another link where you can view the teaser trailer in case you can't see it on MTV. Hope this helps!

Again, sorry for the confusion, and I wish there was another trailer and that this wasn't the actual teaser trailer... I know that probably I am the most reluctant person to movie adaptations of the books, but I believe the teaser trailer was a little lacking... It especially worries me because if it doesn't look really exciting, people won't be attracted to watching the movie, and it won't hit theaters in my country and instead, will go straight to video... People don't read Twilight in my country, they have been barely into HP for the last 3 years...

So moving into the discussion... I was pretty certain that Sam's death would be the only way Jacob could become the leader of the pack, but someone (I'm sorry, I can't remember who it was) stated that Sam's ability to not change into a wolf could lead into this. Maybe his love for Emily could make him want to grow old with her and then stay human? I'm betting on this new option now! That was some great thought!

Have you guys checked out TwilightGuy.com? It is simply hilarious! A guy's journey through Twilight... No wonder why my best friend couldn't be persuaded into trying it... Well, at least I got him to read HP!
Insomnia
Yay, Elaine! Glad to see we have another Twilighter on board. tongue.gif Read quick so you can join in!

Anita, I just have to say, I LOVE the new name!

Ahem... Um... If this turns out to be how it actually happens, then yes, that was me! However, if I'm completely off-base on this, then no. I have no idea what you are talking about. This thought never crossed my mind. (I can always edit my former post if need be. rolleyes.gif ) Hee hee.

On a side note, I finished reading Host. In my opinion, it's not up to Twilight standards. I can't see myself reading it again. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty good as a whole, but it just dragged on way too long. I liked the creativity involved, though, that's for sure. smile.gif

Book four is going to be the final book of series, right? I've not heard differently. Thus, we have to presume SM is going to conclude the Volturi issue and the pack. On the Volturi, Edward must make Bella a vampire; Bella must not be bitten to maintain the treaty of the pack. It stands to reason that both will happen and the conflict will be immediate.

Now, what I'm thinking about with Jacob being forced into the position of becoming the pack leader, he loves Bella. I firmly believe he has not imprinted on Bella, but he does love her deeply. As pack leader it seems to me that Jacob would have the ability to overlook Edward bringing Bella over as a vampire, since she is willing to make the change. Therefore he'd be in a position of making a single exception to the treaty without causing a big ruckus.

Yet, the Volturi are bound to cause a stink over something, and it stands to reason that it may be over Bella's vampire power. Maybe Aro will want Edward and Bella to return with them. Enter the pack protecting Bella's right to live where she chooses.

I'm probably way off base here, but this is where I see the book going.
