I was fortunate to see "My Boy Jack", the story of Rudyard Kipling's son, John (Jack) and his desire to fight for the British army in World War I. Daniel Radcliffe plays the part of Jack and did a wonderful job. Kim Catrell of "Sex and the City" played the part of Jack's mother, Carrie Kipling, and was so different from her "Sex and the City" character that I had a hard time believing it was her!
Dan has matured a lot since his performance in "Order of the Phoenix" and for the most part his role as Jack was different and distinguishable from that of Harry Potter. However, there were a few scenes, especially when he was morally outraged that he resembled Potter so much that I chuckled out loud, almost expecting him to yell "he betrayed my parents!" I suppose the reason for this is that Jack wore glasses very similar to Harry Potter, that it was hard for Radcliffe NOT to look like Harry! In one scene it was raining so hard and he was trying to shoot at a target, and not doing very well since he could not see through his rain-soaked glasses. I thought he should say "Impurvious" to help him see in the rain ( like Hermione did in PoA book). In another scene he had tape around the bridge of his glasses and, again, I thought he should use "Occulus Reparo"!
