Maybe someone new that Harry meets during some Order buisness.

I like that I idea of Harry meeting someone new for a little side romance in the half blood prince, before he completely falls head over heals for Hermione in book 7. But wouldn't the people he meets's on 'order business' be quite a bit older than him? Unless through the order Harry meets some students from Beauxbaton or Drumstrang his own age.

I'm with the Ginny crowd. Ginny has matured quite a bit from the silly little girl who couldn't be around Harry without tripping over something that we met in SS. We know that she likes Harry.

Cho is an emotional basket-case, and I think she annoys Harry more than anything.

It won't be Hermione, I assure you. They just don't have that kind of relationship.

i recon it'll be ginny, because it's just logical. Well JK has practically said that Ron and Hermione are gonna get together, so i wouldnt think it'd be Hermione. AND history is kinda repeating itself with Ginny... red hair... green eyes... being by herself on the front cover... you know... just makes sense. AND also at the end of the 5th book when Ron discovers that Ginny is no longer dating Michael Corner he says to chose someone "better" next time and, i quote, "casts Harry an oddly furtive look". Well there's my contribution to this "conundrum".

the thing about the end of the fifth book, with harry and ron is a really good point... because why would JK waste time typing that sentance out, if it wasnt some sort of hint...

Hmmm... well I would say that Harry will more girls in the books to come but the one that I think... well I hope he finds more special would come from Luna.... Harry is going through a lot of pain right now, especially with Sirius's death and all, so he is probably feeling a lot of hate. Well, I know this sounds weird, but... the opposite of hate is love. SOOOO.... if Harry needs love... I just think that he'll find plenty of that in Luna....

well, like JKR said, he's not going to have time for a realationship in HBP, so it might be another cho-ish inccidnet. i really dont think Jo will intorduce any ships til book7, if at all. i personaly think there will be a sean in #6 or 7(probably 7) where ron opens up to hermione and tells her he likes her, but she's do the basic 'lets just be friends' manuver. dont think ron'll take it too well though. it makes me upset just thinking about how sad ronikins will be.

i think it will probably be a fling...or maybe hopefully it will be hermione..but then jk said he dosnt have time for a relationship so i'm betting on another fling....maybe it will be ginny or something. becasue i really don't think they'll be a good couple perminently..btw, just because ron wants, h/g to get togethor, dosnt meen they will.

But Harry's opinion on Luna changed more than any other character. Ron pretty much still thinks she's Loony. Neville.... well JKR pretty much shot down the ship and I'm not even sure if Luna was on his radar. She was around people he knew but he gave no indication he thought to deeply about her. Ginny was her friend anyway and Hermione only grudingly lets her weird comments go at the end of the book. (not that either Hermione or Ginny were going to end up kissing Luna, but just making a point). Harry's view on Luna actually CHANGED by the end, so they could have a moment (and a kiss) in six.

I really don't think he'll be kissing either Hermione or Ginny in this book. If he is going to kiss one of them, it might happen in seven (my money is on Ginny) but he needs his girl-friends as friends, Ginny and Hermione have both pretty much been in his life as long as Ron. Ginny hasn't been as close as the trio are to each other, but she's still had summer holidays with Harry and interacted with him for the better part of her school years on some level. And as Hermione's friend and Ron's sister and now Harry's friend, she's sort of brings balance to the group.

If anyone's suitable for a short and much more fun temporary romance (or maybe just a kiss), it's Luna. Of course, a kiss could happen between Ginny too. Lacking twins, I think we'll see a lot of Ginny/Ron/Harry interaction related to Quidditch and who knows what will happen there. We didn't really get to experience 'Ginny Quidditch Player' in OotP, we knew she was playing but she got on the team when Harry was put off. A kiss could happen there too.

I would be royally shocked if it was Hermione.

I reckon Harry will kiss Ginny or vice versa because you can so tell that they will eventually get together and i think it's about time they will

ok, have you noticed that lily and james were both head boy and girl, and they hooked up. Mr. and Ms. weasly were head boy and girl and they hooked up. If hermione were to become head girl in book 7 that may tell us who she may end up with.

Who said Mr and Mrs. Weasley were head boy and girl? While there's a suggestion of them both being in Gryffindor in GoF, there's no mention of either of them even being head boy or girl, nor of them being prefects or even being in the same year, they could have been a year apart for all we know.

I don't think we can say being head boy and girl makes you fated for marraige. I mean, what if, say, Ernie Macmillian ends up being head boy (it could happen ). I don't think he and Hermione are fated to walk down the isle.

I doubt that whoever becomes Head Boy and Girl will marry, unless, or course, Ron and Hermione. But as for Harry, I doubt that it's Ginny because she likes Dean, and Harry has never looked at her in "that" way before. Harry might kiss Luna, probably not Cho, or it might be a new or presently undeveloped character.

Yeah, me too. Sad, but I don't think Harry will kiss Hermione in book 6 either. Though I think it's ganna be someone from his year this time.

Yea Hermione and Harry will never be together... although remember she did kiss him at the end of the fourth book, but nothing more. I also agree that he will go for someone in his year... just a guess in the dark... maybe Parvati Patil?

I have thought that and I have thought for a while that Parvati liked him. (GoF mostly) Anyways he will get a kiss and possibly Ron too, and maybe from the same person...umm I mean thing..................I think it will be a dementor.

I think Harry WILL kiss Hermione and as people have said ron will walk in on them and Ron and Harry will have their first fight over a girl! BUT Hermione is going to fall for ron in the seventh cause (hopefully) ron will have hit puberty by then

Yes, you can never rule out kiss by dementor, but that would rule out his existence pretty much.. So highly unlikely. I seriously disagree about Harry and Hermione getting together, for they have never thought about each other in that way, but along the way we have seen hints about Ron and Hermione (remember that hippogriff scene in the 3rd movie). Harry is setting his sights elsewhere, sure he sees Hermione as a good friend, but nothing more (same with Ginny).

I think it shall be Hermione who Harry will kiss. I mean, it can't be Cho...she's going out with Michael Corner...and it can't be Ginny Weasley...she's dating Dean Thomas. I'm not sure about Luna though. She's a bit...LOONY!! Hermione does have a HEART! She's pretty enough for Harry.

Remember, even though Luna is Loony, she was the only one Harry felt he could be open to. Maybe, just maybe, they would get together. I've said this many times, but Harry and Hermione will not get together, for far more hitns have come up between Ron and Hermione.

I think Hermione, she's by far the closest girl to Harry and imo Hermione has had feelings for Harry since the third book. Anyway it may not even start out as romantic just a kiss on the cheek that accidentaly lands on the lips and lasts alittle too long to be just friendly.

Yes, Harry might analyze his feelings for Hermione, and you can never forget the kiss on the cheek on the last page of GoF American, but also remember she kissed Ron too before his first quidditch match in OotP and there have been mroe hints about Ron/Hermione than Harry/Hermione. So when Harry analyzes his feelings for her, he will see her as a very good friend who means a lot to him, but not in the loving, girlfriend way, but more of a sibling way... this is my opinion So I do not think Harry will kiss Hermione.

Of course it will be Ginny!! Ron knows that she still likes Harry and even said that when Ginny broke up with one guy from Ravenclaw i think, Ron said "Well I hope you pick them better next time" Ron looks over at Harry in a weird way. Yes Hermione will kiss Harry but not on the lips. As many people have said Hermione has kissed Harry on the cheek but has no more feelings than friends. Although Harry has said that he thinks Hermione is good looking in the OotP. When Harry was telling her the story about him and Cho in Hogsmed she said that "You should have also included that I'm ugly" and Harry said "But I don't think your ugly" hmmm i don't know how he ment that.

If the kisses aren't from her and from someone else, well it will only be a matter of time before they both realise how much they fancy the other, be it in Half-Blood Prince or Book 7.
There was no hidden significance behind Harry saying to Hermione he didn't think she was ugly. Of course he doesn't think she's ugly! But he doesn't fancy her more than a friend either. He admires her competence in everything and knows he'd be totally lost without her. But that's all, nothing more.
When JKR was asked about Ron & Hermione, her answer should have ended all such debate. It's SO obvious that Ron & Hermione will be the couple and not Harry & Hermi.

i never said that Harry liked her more than a friend i just said that he doesn't think that she is ugly. As far as relationships go thats a different forum but you got them right in my opinion.

I doubt that Harry will hook up with Ginny. For one thing, it is explained in OotP that she is now comfortable talking to Harry because she no longer fancies him. Another thing, at the end of OotP she announces that she is going out with Dean Thomas. She has already tried seeking Harry's attention and it failed as he had his sights on other people. So sure Ron thinks that Harry and Ginny are good for each other, but remember as Hermione said, that's only because he's too overprotective of Ginny. For all we know, she could do great with Dean.

How can Dean fit in with the picture of H/Hr/R and Ginny for that matter? It is clear that Harry is leaving the Dursley's early and will most likely be with the Order. That means Harry will become closer to Ginny. In the OotP, at the Department or Mysteries, Harry steps in front of Ginny to protect her from any attach from a DE. There is still a special connection between Harry and Ginny and it is only a matter of time before they realize this.

Yes Harry saved Ginny, but she is his friend and he pulled her into that mess, he would have done the same for Hermione, Ron, Neville, even Luna. Seeing Ginny over the summer does not necessarily mean they will become closer. Plus, that is only for a few weeks, whereas at school she will spend much more time in the company of other boys. I am utterly convinced Ginny will not hook up with Harry, JKR hinted to us that they won't get together. I mean for Hermione and Ron, there have been plenty of hints thus far. For Harry and Ginny, none. Sure he saved her life, but that is because she was his best friend's sister and he has that" saving people-hero thing." She is his friend and nothing more. I am disputing all these ideas that Harry will get together with either Ginny or Hermione. He has not hinted to having feelings for either of them, his thoughts lie outside that spectrum....

Okay this has gone on long enough. Y'all are getting too caught up in "Ship waters". This is NOT a Ships thread. I understand that the topic of this thread is related to ships but please don't get overly into discussing the characters' possible romantic links here, this is not the place.

Let's try and keep things to just suggesting who you reckon Harry will kiss in HBP and why (for example: he is closest to Hermione, he will form a connection with Luna, he will become attracted to Ginny, etc)...leave all your brilliant Ships theories for the Ships section aight?! Maybe everybody is coming at this from the wrong angle. JKR said that Harry would be recieving possibly two kisses. Now, maybe my experience is not what everyone elses is, but there is one heck of a difference between giving/recieving a kiss. Well if your talking about someone who does stuff that people don't expect. If you want to look at it that way then Hermione could be it. No one expected her to go to the Yull Ball with Victor and not to mention how good she looks i mean looked lol. Luna is an out-of-the-ordinary person but isn't the person that would get involved like that. Ginny in a way is surprising because she beat Cho to the snitch and changed bf without Ron knowing. So if there is 2 kisses the best chances are Ginny and i can't decide if it will be Hermione or Luna but I'm think it will probly be Hermione EVEN though its going to her and Ron. Time will only tell.

But see, after his connection with her after Sirius's death, we can tell Luna will become a major character, much like Ginny. So his chances of kissing Luna will exponentially increase

He ran into her he didn't go looking for her. When the DA members were in the DoM and Hermione was hit by those flames he looked down at her and said that she couldn't die and was on the verge of tears. To me that sounds like he really cares about Hermione in a way more than a friend. I don't think that she likes him back though. When Harry offered to help Luna to look for her things he was just doing that so e didn't have to go the the feast.

It could be Hermione ( I mean, are we really 100% positive that she loves ron? try Mugglenet and read the prophecy).
But It could also be Ginny.
OR who knows, maybe it could be someone totally unexpected like katie Bell? Hehe. Just kidding.

I'm about 95% sure that Hermione and Ron like eachother but thats a different forum. Katie Bell, I think that she would kill Harry if he didn't catch the snitch rather than kiss him. To me its going to be Ginny and....someone else I haven't decided yet.

About who might Harry kiss in HBP, I really think that there is the fact that Hermione is not only a friend to Harry, but a sister! When it comes to Harry I really see a sort of "big sister" or motherlike character (when Harry is in danger)in Hermione this is why I think that the possibilities for them to end up kissing are awkward.

If there could be some girl Harry might end up kissing, it will probably either be Parvati, Luna or Giny. I know it is weird the idea of Harry and Ginny kissing, but There is something funny about the Harry-Ginny relationship...

Both have a good related friend (not Ron but Hermione)
Harry ignored Ginny
Ginny has red hair
Harry has black hair
Ginny is a very gifted witch (and the ONLY female witch in her family after several generations)

Maybe we interpret too much into that line. By saying "will receive a kiss or two" JK Rowling could mean just a quick peck on the cheek for luck or something, it's probably not all that meaningful. Then again, she referred it to 'a little bit of romance' (not wordly), so who knows.
If he really IS going to kiss someone/is being kissed, I also think it would be Ginny. I'm not too thrilled of that 'ship, but I don't think he and Hermione would kiss (except maybe a kiss on the cheek in a friend-like manner). Luna's just too... naw, I don't think so. I see no connection there.
Still, it could be someone completely new (I actually don't think so, too distracting) or a character that has been too far in the background to be taken into consideration by us?

I don't see why Luna would kiss Harry becasue in the OotP, she seemed to like Ron and not Harry. At the end, Harry does run into Luna and only offers to help because he doesn't want to go to the feast.
