So Sirius Black had finally managed to keep a girl for longer then a week. Even though he and his best friend James Potter had bad reputations of being womanisers, they both felt they had grown out of it.
James hadn’t dated for half a year and Sirius had kept one girl for half a year.
Never did Sirius dream of cheating or dumping the girl he had now. Brianna Clarke had long brown hair that stopped at her waist, and deep brown eyes which showed every emotion. She had liked Sirius since second grade, but refused to be one of the girls he hurt. But here she was, 5 years later, dating the guy she swore she would never fall for.

“So Bri, when are we putting this plan into action?” her friend Dimity asked.
“What plan?” She asked hoping her friends had forgotten.
“Don’t be silly. Come on, you know what I am talking about. It’s been 6 months since you and Sirius started dating. I think we should do it tonight.” Dimity smiled widely.
“I don’t think that’s such a good idea anymore” Brianna stuttered to her friend.
“What!? Why?” Dimity questioned.
“Remember how we talked about not falling for the enemy, especially this one?” She looked away from her friends piercing blue eyes. “Well… I have. And I don’t want to hurt him. He told me he loved me last night Dim”
“But Bri… Remember our plan? We were going to pay him back for what he did to Alice and Immy in forth and fifth year. And don’t forget about all the other girls”

Bri couldn’t take it anymore. She couldn’t stand arguing with her friends. Especially her three best friends Dimity, Alice and Lily.
Dimity had piercing blue eyes and long dirty blonde hair. Everyone loved her for who she was, the boys fell at her feet, she was out going and smart, and was great to talk to. Yet with all this, she could be intimidating if you didn’t know her.
Alice had thick shoulder length brown hair, also with brown eyes. She was the shy one of the group, the boys still loved her, but she was madly in love with Frank Longbottom.
Lily was the only red head. Her deep red hair flowed gently half way down her back. She had bright green eyes which showed every emotion. She was they smartest which in the year, was muggle born, and was the eye candy for the past 6 and a half years, of James Potter.

“Wow Padfoot. Look at this” Sirius walked over to James.
“Prongs. That’s perfect! Do you think she will like it?”
“Mate. She will love it!”
Sirius and James had snuck off through one of the many passage ways to Hogsmaede. Sirius wanted to find the perfect gift for Bri just because he could.

Sirius and James snuck back into the school just in time for dinner. As the headed to the great hall, they had to go through the entrance hall.
“Haha hey Padfoot I smell trouble” James laughed. Just beside the door to the great hall was a couple making out. The couldn’t see who it was as the girl was too petit to be seen behind the tanky-
“Diggory!” James laughed as Sirius wolf whistled. The coupled broke apart. By this time James and Sirius had made it to the door way.
“Brianna?” Sirius croaked as his world came crashing down around him. “How could you?”
“I’m sorry Sirius”
“Your sorry? Sorry for what” Sirius’ vision was a bit blurry but he refused to cry in front of the whole student body.
“It wasn’t my idea. It was a plan that-” Brianna began.
“No. How could you. I loved you. I thought you loved me”
Sirius felt betrayed. He didn’t know what to do. “Come on Padfoot” James urged. He seemed to have noticed the whole school had gone quiet and were now watching what was happening. Sirius’ fan club were smirking along with the Slytherines. Brianna’s friends came rushing out along with Remus and Peter. Sirius and James’ other two best friends. Diggory slipped away into the hall and went and sat with his friends. A few heads turned and watched him, but none of the Marauders or the girls.

“Plan? What plan?” Sirius yelled.
Bri told Sirius about the plan in between sobs with a little bit of help from Dimity who claimed it was her fault.
“It was my fault. I told her to. She wasn’t going to do it. She really does love you.” Dimity said urgently.
“Shut up. What would you know about our relationship. It doesn’t appear to matter to her does it?”
A few people gasped at his behaviour.
Lily looked from Sirius and back to her friends. “Dimity you really shouldn’t have. I thought we decided a long time ago that plan was not going to go through.”
“What? You were in on this to Lily?” James asked.

Lily and James had been closer then ever and he never expected his girlfriend ever to do something like this. Even though they had only been dating a week or so.
James looked shattered.

Sirius put his hand into his pocket and pulled out a small box. He threw it to Bri who only just caught it in shock. “Here. I got you a present.”
Bri looked desperately at Sirius. “Please. I didn’t mean to” She pleaded.


Sirius turned and walked away. Meanwhile James was having a silent conversation with Lily. She too, now had tears in her eyes. “How could you Lily?” He asked and followed his best friend. The other Marauders had no idea what to do.

The school was still watching the girls. Brianna opened this gift silently. After all, Sirius had given it to her so she might as well find out what it was.
She tipped the box up side down and out fell a silver bracelet. Engraved was the word ‘Forever’. She dropped it all and ran. She didn’t know where she was going, she just ran and didn’t stop until she could no more.

Sirius had gone back to his dorm where he lay on his bed, hangings closed, and cried.
Never had he been hurt like this before. He had finally found someone whom he may truly love. He thought she loved him back. Love seemed to be to much for him to ask.

James walked in soon after and lay on his bed. James and Lily were now fighting because of something their friends did. Dimity and Remus remained the only couple still okay, for now.

Dimity sat down by the lake, tears in her eyes. Everything was going wrong and it was all her fault. If only she had not encouraged her friend to behave that way. Now she thought of it, it was her fault. Lily had said it was a bad idea and that Briana should not do it. After all, in the end Bri never wanted to anyway.
Why her? Why here? Why now?

A figure sat next to her. She felt a hand on her shoulder.
“Dim?” A soft voice said.
She recognised it as Remus’, her boyfriends. At least they were okay.
“Is it true? What they are saying. Bri said you made her. Sirius doesn’t know what to do. He told me he loved her last night. He was going to propose at the end of the year. Lily and James are fighting. James says his friends come before girls. I never thought he would mean Lily too.”
“Well she is a girl” Dimity said croakily.
A slight smile crept up on Remus’ face.
“It’s true” Dimity started after some time. “It was my idea. Before they started dating of course. Lily said it was a bad idea and Bri said she didn’t want to. I think I made her” Dimity said between sobs. “Oh Remus. I am so sorry. I never knew …”
Remus sat for a moment, then stood quietly and walked away.

The next few days were gloomy. Sirius and Briana broke up and were not talking, Lily and James weren’t talking, Dimity and Remus weren’t talking, Briana and Dimity weren’t taking and Lily and Dimity barely spoke. The Marauders had a hard time laughing again. Even Peter was down. Though his friends did not know what was going on with him. He was never around anymore.

One morning whilst the boys were walking down to breakfast, Briana walked round the corner bumping into James.
“Oh sorry” she mumbled and looked up.
If there’s James, then Sirius must be… She thought searching the four boys.
Her eyes caught Sirius’ and he looked down.
“Sirius” She croaked, her eyes once again, filling with tears.
James, Remus and Peter slipped away so the couple could talk in private.
“Please, listen to me” She said as he started in the opposite direction.
“Listen to you? What do have to say that can make this better?” He said with his face showing no emotion.
“I’m sorry. I really am. I –”
“Sorry?” Sirius cut across her again.
“Yes. I’m Sorry. I never wanted any of this to happen.” Briana Begged.
“Only before we started dating” He half yelled
“No! I mean yes. But that was before I got to know you.”
“You never wanted to anyway”
“No I did. Please can I make it up to you?” Briana now had tears running down her face.

Sirius stared at her. He walked slowly to her, placing his hand on the side of her face. He watched as tears poured down her face his did himself. Sirius then leant in close to her. “I love you!” He whispered. Then he was gone as quickly as he had come. Briana stared at the space that was just filled with Sirius Black. Then she couldn’t take it anymore. She broke down, collapsing on the floor and sobbed harder then ever.

“Im sorry” She whispered.

“James?” Lily walked up to James’ bed.
He didn’t even acknowledge her. She sat down beside him.
“I’m sorry James. I know what it’s like to have your friends come first. I tried my best to stop Bri from doing what she did. I really did. I know her and Dim joked about it. She always told me it wasn’t her, that she would not do it. Honestly James, I tried to stop her. I haven’t spoken to Dim for 3 weeks now. I want this to be over. I cant take it any more. You chased me for 6 years. I always thought you only like me for the chase. After we came at the beginning of seventh year, you changed, and I noticed. I decided it was finally time to give you a chance. No-one knows I have always liked you. Maybe even loved. I just wanted you to grow up. The week, it may seem so short. But it was the best in my life. I’m Sorry James. I miss you. And I love you.”
She finished her speech and a single tear leaked out her eye.

She stood up and turned to leave. Standing at the door was Sirius and Remus.
Another tear.
“Hi” She said barely more then a whisper. Sirius still looked hurt from what had happened. He simply bowed his head and went to sit on his own bed.
“Hey Lil” Remus said and followed Sirius’ suit.
And she left the dorm.

The marauders had never seen each other cry. Not until this one issue. They seemed to cry a lot lately and never cared if it was in front of each other. James rolled over and looked at his two best friends. Sirius seemed to understand.
“Go get her Prongs” James slight smile appeared on James’ face, but disappeared quickly.
He got up, put his shoes on as quickly as he could, and ran out the dorm. James spent an hour looking for her. So far he had looked everywhere and could not find her.
“Where could she be?” He asked himself out loud.
Then it hit him. He raced as fast as he could back up to the Gryffindor common room.

“LILY” He called up the girls stairs knowing he couldn’t climb up.

Lily sat on her bed. Should she or should she not go down?

“LILY. I’m sorry. I forgive you! I love you! Please come down! Be my girlfriends again!” He called again.

And she raced down. She stopped at the last corner, and walked down slowly.
As she got to the last few steps she looked at James. Her face red and blotchy from crying, she smiled.
“I’m sorry” She whispered hugging him tightly. They kissed and Lily automatically felt warmth spread through her

The common room awed. Lily and James broke apart and looked round. They hadn’t realized so many people were in watching them.

The next few days were un eventful. Lily and James were happy together, but no as happy as they could be for their friends. Everyone tried so hard to sort things out, but some people just would not budge.
Briana refused to forgive Dimity, Lily still did not yet want to talk to her, Sirius wouldn’t talk to Briana or Dimity, Remus wouldn’t talk to Dimity, and everything was just not right.

The hole of Gryffindor house sat in the common room. Professor Mcgonngal had just left after telling the class they were to be back in the common room by 8 each night. The school is now taking extra security measures because of Lord Voldemort and his growing powers or something or other.

As the crowd dispersed, only the Marauders, the girls and a few other sixth and seventh years sat in the common room doing home work.

Everyone looked at each other. All refusing to brake the silence. Sirius sat with his hands shaking and clenched his jaw, whilst Briana sat, her face flushed red and her eyes teary again, Lily, James and Remus sat awkwardly in the middle looking back and forth, and Dimity tried to slip away unnoticed.

“Coward!” Sirius said in a low deadly voice.
Everyone turned to look at him. He was looking directly at Dimity, so she slipped back onto a chair. She looked pleadingly at him.
“Anywhere but here. Please.” She begged not to argue in front of his and her friends.
“Why not? They are just as much part of it.” He barked

The two argued back and forth for while.
“SHUT UP. Both of you!” Dimity finally screamed.
Everyone stared at her which made her feel slightly uncomfortable.
“It was my fault.” She cried. Everyone had been over this so many times before but she felt it was best if it came from her to the whole group.
“I made her do it. I though it would be fun. I never thought things would end up like this. Lily said it was a bad idea and Bri said she didn’t want to do it but I encouraged her to do it. I said that’s the only reason she was dating Sirius in the first place. Which at the start it was but that was before we all got to know each other and I … I’m sorry!” she finished and turned to walk out the portrait hole.
Sirius was furious. The Marauders had no idea what to do.

“Dim” Briana called. It was the first time in 7 weeks she had heard one of her friends talk to her. She turned slowly and looked at Briana. They both had tears in their eyes. “I’m sorry too” Dimity looked shocked. She stood still for a bit. No-one moved. 5 minutes of silence until Briana jumped up, ran to her friend and hugged her. Remus and James stared, eye brows raised. Sirius was now red in the face, having no idea what to do was killing him.
Lily rose slowly from her seat and hugged Dimity. “I’m so sorry Dim”
“Girls” James whispered to Remus. He let a small laugh out and a smile crept up on his face. It quickly vanished when he caught the glare Sirius was giving him.

When the girls had finally stopped hugging and making up, they turned and looked at the boys. Silence withheld them once again.
Sirius rose slowly. Nodded at the girls and turn towards the boys dorm.

“Sirius, wait” Remus said. “This isn’t over.
Sirius turned. Eyes filled with tears, the sixth year girls gasped and pointed. He turned and looked at his ex girl friend.
“Remember when I loved you Bri?” and he was once again, gone.

Lily and James were together again, the girls were all happy with each other again, Remus and Dimity were now on talking terms and the main problem was still Sirius and Briana. They could not be in the same room as each other, they would not talk nor even look at each other. This caused a lot of awkwardness and tension in the two groups.

“Why don’t you just talk to her?” James said out of the blue. “People have noticed we don’t get up to mischief any more and I don’t like it.”
Sirius smiled vaguely. “Yeah, your right.” And he jumped up.
James thought he was going to talk to Briana. But no such luck.
“Lets go prank some Slytherins.” An evil grin spread across his face.
James smiled none the less and they planned their prank.
Remus walked in as they were finishing so they filled him in too. Once they were all satisfied, they headed down for dinner.

“AAAAGGGGGHHHHHH” Several Slytherins screamed in horror as their chairs pulled out from beneath them and they were ripped into the air by the ankles.
The Marauders had to suppress the laughter before other people started to laugh. As soon as the rest of the hall broke out, they burst out with their own laughter.
The three boys high-fived and carried on eating, laughing, chatting happily and left the teachers to sort out the Slytherins.

“Boys, that was very unnecessary” The boys froze for a second, then looked up.
They looked straight into the eyes of Dumbledor. Although he was stern, they could not help see a hint of amusement in his eyes.
“Sorry sir” Remus said quickly, afraid to be in trouble.
“Yeah, sorry professor” Sirius and James agreed.
Dumbledor leaned closer to them. “Just pretend I gave you a punishment. But take this as a warning.” He smiled warmly at them then passed with out another word.
Many heads had turned to watch. The boys looked around for a bit then turned and grinned at each other. On the opposite side of the table, Dimity and Lily eyed them suspiciously. Briana didn’t seem to care.

“Sirius?” Briana spoke for the first time that night. She had been planning this for a while and she took now as her chance.
Sirius looked up at the mention of his name.
“What?” He said coldly.
“What can I do to make it up to you? To prove that I’m sorry and that I never meant any of this ever to happen?” She asked quietly. Everyone looked at Sirius expectantly.
“What can you do? Lets see. You can not talk to me. Your can not talk about me. You can not look at me. In fact, you can stay out of my life.” And he put his head back down to his food.

Briana threw he food forward and ran out of the hall.
“That was harsh Black. Even for you” Lily said in a deadly tone and followed her friend out.

Sirius looked shocked. It took several minutes for Remus to get his attention again. Otherwise, he just sat there staring where Lily had just growled at him. He scared her sometimes.

“Padfoot. She’s right you know. That was harsh. Real harsh” Remus said.
“Padfoot, your should probably apologize.” James suggested.
Remus agreed instantly.
“Oh okay” Sirius gave in to his friends and went to find her.

Lucky for him he had the Marauders map at hand.
“I solemnly swear that I am up to no good” He whispered whilst tapping a plain bit of parchment. Line instantly appeared, the lines mapped out Hogwarts and showed every person in the castle and where they were. He searched for Briana, eventually finding her up on the north tower by her self. He took short carts, walking slowly but reached her with in minutes.
Why do we always get to the places we don’t want to be quicker then places we do want to be? He asked himself.

“Bri?” He called as her neared the top.
“Go away” She cried
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have spoken to you like that. It was wrong. I just want you to know that I don’t want to be with you.” He said, his face showing no emotion what so ever.
Snap! Briana felt her heart snap, for the second time by Sirius that evening.
Deep down inside, Sirius knew he wanted her back. He just wouldn’t hear of it.

“How is it that you sit so near, yet you seem so far away?” She asked as she stared out to the grounds.
“I don’t know” Was all Sirius had to reply.

Sirius woke with a jerk. The sun was coming up. He had spent the hole night out with Briana. They must have fallen asleep. He looked down to see Briana in his arms, he head on his chest.

She stirred, finally awaking. She looked into Sirius eyes and then jumped up.
“Sorry” She muttered. “We best get back. We have been out all night.” She fretted.
“It okay. Bri calm down. Don’t worry about it” Sirius soothed.
“Thankyou” She whispered to him.
“For what?” Sirius asked a little confused.
“Accepting my apology, and staying with me. Maybe I can move on now.” She said, turned and headed for the stairs.
“Bri?”
She turned around. “Yeah?” She answered.
“I’m sorry too.”
“For what?”
“Everything” he walked over and hugged her. She hugged him back, tightly.
When they released, Sirius walked down the stairs. So Briana followed.

“Padfoot. Where the hell have you been?” James raged when Sirius walked into the dorm.
Sirius explained everything to his friends. They were as confused as her was.
“Guess what.” Remus said when they were done discussing Sirius’ night.
“What?” Sirius asked.
“Dim and I are dating again” He said sounding pleased with himself.
“WHAT?!?” Sirius and James screamed.
“Since when?” James asked
“Last night”
“Why didn’t you tell me then?” James argued
Because I wanted to tell Sirius as well so I thought I would wait until he got back. When he didn’t return I sort of… fell asleep.”
“Oh fair enough then.”
“Congratulations” Was the first thing Sirius said the hole time.
“Yeah. Good on ya Moony” and they headed down for an early breakfast chatting merrily.

*4 months later*

All the Marauder and the girls were good friends now. Everyone had mostly gotten over what happened. Graduation was passed, and their last train ride home was upon them.
Their last day was hectic. They all stopped on the platform to say good bye.
There were tears, hugs, kisses, and screams everywhere.
At last Briana and Sirius were hugging.
“Who knows. Maybe we still do have a future together” He whispered and walked through the barrier separating the platform from the muggle world.
