1. How do you see Severus and Hermione's lives playing out after Voldemort is destroyed?
~I of course see them both making it out of the final battle alive *I hope* I think that Severus, after so much controversy and scrutiny as a double agent for years will want nothing to do with the lime light ever again. I personally feel that he would shy away from Hermione at first. She would be too shy and uncertain to approach him at first as well. He will care for her of course and thoughts of her will consume him until he has no choice but to once again brave the displeasure of so many who would disapprove of his love for her. But by then it will not matter for Hermione will have grown a woman's heart and mind and will not care what society or her pious friends would think. They will never marry. Severus is not they type. They will have children and Hermione will still be a respected member of society for she is indeed a brilliant witch.
This of course is just one way I see them turning out. There are so many ways you can have fun with this ship once the final battle is over.

Well, I can see them both surviving of course to begin with. And I can also see Hermione graduating, and becoming a professor at Hogwarts, catching Snapes eye.

Also, congratulations on your 500th post
nevillesgirl!! And posting your 500th in this thread does show a lot, because there aren't enough Severus/Hermione ship fans, and it just shows that your a loyal fan!

Ok so it's been about a week since anyone's posted... Where are all of our SS/HG fans? *sniff*

Alright so
nevillesgirl and I have discussed it, and this thread needs reviving! So I'll try asking a new question for those who are still interested in this amazing ship.
What led you to liking the idea of Severus and Hermione? Was it a certain fan fic?
As always I'll post after some responses... I really miss this thread so lets get the conversation flowing!

~Yeah, I do miss this thread, where oh where are all the SS/HG fans?
You know, that is a great question. I was never a fan of this ship. It was in my opinion bad form if you know what I mean. Let's face it. Severus is so much older then Hermione and I couldn't get past that. I just kind of wandered in here one day because I just am such a fan of Severus, I wanted to see why people were pairing him with Granger. I was floored! People were so passionate about this ship. I read a fanfic by Snapelover and another one by Snapeysnax (?) I have to go back and check that one--it is on another site dedicated only to that ship.
The other thing that got me thinking was honestly the posts by Lilypotter. They are so well thought out and non pushy that they made me evaluate all the other possibilities and that age really didn't matter.

Yay!! A post!
Nevillesgirl, if you get the chance and find that site if you could please link it in here. I too plan on Google-ing a little bit later to search for some good SS/HG sites.
What led you to liking the idea of Severus and Hermione? Was it a certain fan fic? For me it was a combination of several things. Firstly Severus and Hermione have been my two favorite characters for quite sometime, and when I was pondering (I do that too often) I came up to the conclusion that there was so many similarities between the two characters that it was unreal! Then I pondered a while longer over the fact that there was such an age gap, and yet that didn't seem to be bothering me at all when I was thinking about the ship.
Eventually I decided I would delve into the fan fictions and forums regarding their thoughts and feelings about this ship as well.
So I guess I somewhat thought the ship up in my head before reading so many wonderful ideas which just strengthened my own. Now I'm constantly reading some amazing fics, and writing my own.
Off the top of my head I can think of Aethonon's fic
Our Turn in Time which is a time turner fic. Oh and of course Nevillesgirl's as well, which *hangs head in shame* I haven't gotten the chance to read yet. Oh that just sparked another question, though please answer the first one too!
If you read SS/HG fan fics, what type of format (i.e. Time Turner, etc.) do you enjoy the most?
Ok I guess I'll stop rambling now.

Here is the link to that website
HEREThe name of the story was Augory and Arder or something like that... I should warn you it is very adult though and some areas are even pushing that but It was very well written. They have some other fantastic fanfics in regards to our lovely Snape/Hermione.
If you read SS/HG fan fics, what type of format (i.e. Time Turner, etc.) do you enjoy the most? To answer this, I would say it really doesn't matter. I just love to read about Severus and Hermione and see where other authors' imaginations take the character and relationship.
Actually, what I really like is the one shots. I have read some amazing one shots that really portray a passionate couple. I have also read some that portray betrayal at the highest regard. I love the tension in between the couple.

Thank you so much! I'll let you know what I think later after I read it.
If you read SS/HG fan fics, what type of format (i.e. Time Turner, etc.) do you enjoy the most? I love how you mentioned the tension between the two, because now that you've found a good word for it, that's also what draws me to the ship as well, and it's fanfics. As for my preference, I will read Time Turners, but they aren't my ultimate favorite. I really perfer the fics that are following Hermione's graduatiing Hogwarts and someway or another, Severus and her meet again.
Wait, what are one shots?

Sorry if that's a stupid question.

Not really stupid at all,
worlaholic_1231! A one-shot is a less developed fanfiction that stands alone. So, something written completely out of context to the story that is just a single date between two characters is a one-shot. It's kind of like a short story about a relationship, in excerpt format.
Does anyone recommend any good one-shots to read? I have had this run-away fancy with this relationship ever since I read this thread and considered it possible, but I really haven't gotten into reading anything about it yet (I'm not a large fan of fanfiction as is, but I will read it occasionally). So, any helpful hints?

~Since you asked...we have many talented writers on VTM. My very first fanfic with Snape and Hermione was Dream a little Dream by Snapelover. It's archived now but sooo good. Also Archived that I loved was Always...a one-shot by LilyPotter...excellent.
A couple that are in progress are Our turn in Time by Aethenon (sp). I am totally hooked on that one. Also Ygraine has one Come To My Window that is also really good. Don't forget The Good Man by the founder of S.O.S.S witchmom. Oh and last but not least...I have one called The Spinner's Secret which is almost completed.
Nevillesgirl wrote that about a page back. I've actually read Our Turn in Time, part of Come to my Window, and A good Man. There's so much out there that I hope to get my hands on this summer... and I'm still working on my own!
Hope that helps you, and Im sure nevillesgirl has more for you too!

Okay, so I have a couple of questions for all of our Severus/Hermione fans-who all seem to be absent lately...too much summer holiday already.
Anyways.
Do you think that Severus and Hermione would have kids? Why or why not?
What names would Severus and Hermione give to their children?
Let the discussion begin. I am hoping that we get some various responses.

Do you think that Severus and Hermione would have kids? Why or why not?
Hmm. That's an interesting question. I actually would actually have kids, mainly because if they did, their children would undoubtably be great assets to the society. By this I mean that if you think about it, a child from Severus and Hermione would be incredibly intelligent, and unquestionably raised right. I think Hermione would realize that, and make Severus aware of that as well.
What names would Severus and Hermione give to their children?
Oh gosh that's a hard question!!
Well I would imagine that the chosen name/names would have a meaning. The meaning would either be from a relative or a word that means something else in a different language or is symbolic for something. That's how Severus' and Hermone's names both are, so I imagine that they would want to continue the tradtition. Also maybe, depending on who ended up dying in the final battle, the pairing might've considered naming their child from the deceased person possibly.
Specific names however will take me a while to decide on, but I'll try to get some!

Oooo questions about my favorite ship!
1. How do you see Severus and Hermione's lives playing out after Voldemort is destroyed?I'm going to assume you mean in fanfic world, so I am going to have to say that they leave Britain and find a quiet place to live out their lives. If they stayed in the limelight and flaunted their relationship, the attention would be overwhelming, and, in its entirety, quite negative.
2. Do you prefer to read or write Time Turner fics when the characters are young or do you prefer to read or write fics that have Hermione all grown up? Please explain yourself if not for my own curiosity. I have done both, actually. My favorite fics to read and write are when Hermione is in her 6th or 7th year at Hogwarts, and Severus is still a teacher. I guess I just don't like comformity haha.
Do you think that Severus and Hermione would have kids? Why or why not?Yes. One. A girl. I don't really know why... they just would.
What names would Severus and Hermione give to their children?Something significant like Aphrodite. She was the goddess of war, wasn't she? I always imagine Hermione getting pregnant right after or during the war.
Oooo are we promoting fan vids? Can I be a total loser and promote my own?
Here's one of my cuter ones:
Beauty and the BeastIt's a SS/HG fan vid to "Something There" from the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack.
Actually, most of my vids are SS/HG. My youtube homepage is

Do you think that Severus and Hermione would have kids? Why or why not? Most definitely, but I have this feeling the number would be on the smaller side - one or two at most. They strike me as a good pair to raise kids and raise them properly, unlike some parents today (hem, hem... Dursleys), and I think Hermione would especially want to have a child. Severus I could see not really wanting a child, but I could also see him willing to have one if Hermione wished it.
What names would Severus and Hermione give to their children?Lucifer. I hate how that name gets such a bad connotation, even thought the name itself is not evil. And really, I was Satan's name
before his fall, not after. So I think it could be a risky move for them, but I think given the way they raise the child, they can overcome that negative association with the name. If you think of it out of commonly accepted context, it is actually a quite pretty name; but really only something you can get away with in fiction.
Otherwise, I'd say something else with origins to ancient languages - probably Latin or something similar. It has a certain Romantic quality to it that I like to imagine both Severus and Hermione are hiding from most of the world.

I'm the same way! People think it's sick but I can't help loving fics that are written when she's still in school and he's her teacher. With Time Turners, you have to invision the much younger Snape, and with futuristic fics, you have to imagine Hermione older. We haven't seen them that way, so it's harder for me to picture. I still do have several that I truly enjoy that fall under both categories!
Ok well I'm going to ask a question.. or two.
When you think about the ship, do you associate their relationship with love, lust or something else? Ecplain.

Just snagged these up from someone's reply. Been DYING to discuss Snape and Hermione for a while now. =]
1. How do you see Severus and Hermione's lives playing out after Voldemort is destroyed?
Hmm. Well, after the loads of fanfiction I've read, I see them moving far out and settling down, starting their own vast library of texts, maybe open a small bookstore in a village, and spend the time bickering over Potions or enjoying wine and discussion.
(Okay, that's basically my dream life.)
2. Do you prefer to read or write Time Turner fics when the characters are young or do you prefer to read or write fics that have Hermione all grown up? Please explain yourself if not for my own curiosity.
Both are very fascinating. Both hold a shock factor, important to me. Either is great, they each have their own lovely qualities. A young Severus is highly endearing and just someone you want to snag up and hug. While the older Severus is great due to his acquired wisdom and all that he knows and has gone through.
3. Do you think that Severus and Hermione would have kids? Why or why not?
Possibly, I would only think one child however. A child surrounded by books and great intelligence. =D
4. What names would Severus and Hermione give to their children?
Something with an Allusion quality or holds some type of importance pertaining to the child's appearance or heritage.

I looked at Something There after reading your post (I don't know why I hadn't seen it before) and it is really cute! However I still think Buttons is my favorite because of the way the song flows with the emotion. I really love the editing during the chorus! Brilliant!
Ok I'm going to take a stab at answering one of my own questions...
When you think about the ship, do you associate their relationship with love, lust or something else? Ecplain.
I guess I should've started that by spelling explain right eh? lol.
Well anyways... I'm going to have to say that I associate their relationship with a combination of everything. I see them realizing their similarities, and then falling in love, but instead of showing the love, they show lust. I hope that makes sense.
I'm unsure about the second one so it will have to wait!

Jun 29 2007, 02:33 AM
When you think about the ship, do you associate their relationship with love, lust or something else? Explain.I don't really know what you would classify "something else" as, and I can't really think of anything else at the moment...
However, I see their relationship starting as a respect for one another (okay, I lied - I thought of "something else", apparently...

). I see the two of them growing from their loathing in class, with each trying to sound superior and the smarter, and learning to respect the knowledge and abilities of the other. Then, from that, I see them developing a deep love for one another out of their mutual respect, which eventually grows to lust for the other as they cannot stand separation. Overly romantic for the pair, I know, but I always picture the two of them having that hidden romantic side they are too frightened to display!
How do you picture their relationship beginning?Interesting question...
Well, if they are in school (say seventh year/Deathly Hallows timeline), I could see Snape being re-accepted at his job in someway and having some good long 'chats' with Hermione, because we know how much Ron and Harry detest him. Or, more likely, no one trusts him, but Hermione finds out something that changes her opinion of him entirely (maybe some advice or information from Dumbledore's portrait and learning the fact that he once had a relationship of sorts with Lily) that makes her approach him. Then, from there, they just grow closer and trust each other more, developing that affection.
Otherwise, a post-graduation setting could be if they meet up at Hogwart's as teachers, in the Ministry, or some other place of intellectual stimulation!

(Library anyone?)

Alright well I guess I'll go ahead and tackle that last question of mine.
How do you picture their relationship beginning?Alright well I really like
TheHarryinme's answers, and I guess mine are comehwat similar. I picture Hermione secretly having a crush on Severus starting in her later years of Hogwarts, then she gets really confused when he kills DD. But then she finds out the arrangement that Severus had with DD, which makes her feelings return (if they ever even went away). Her feelings would only get stronger during her 7th year and the final battle. Then when she graduates, she might become a professor where she'd see him more often. Since they'd be in such close proximity, she'd go ahead and confess her feelings, and be completely shocked by him sharing the same feelings for her as well.
That was very theory based, and it was also very similar to my SS/HG fan fic!

Go figure!

How do you picture their relationship beginning?
~Ahhh questions...the thread is alive...!
Well, how do I associate their relationship? Interesting question. I guess when I think about it really, they have a deep emotional and intellectual connection. It is powerful and tangible. This is not some superficial, physical attraction that would cease to exist if one got old, ugly or fat...you know what I mean? So because of this, I see them as a couple who is in a lasting, loving relationship. Not the typical 50 year marriages kind of lasting but the kind that transends all obstacles-even death. I suppose the best way to describe it is to illustrate the movie The Mummy. If you have seen it, Imhotep is killed but when he returns from the dead, he is still filled with love for Anaksunamun and tries to resurrect her so they can be together. A deep love such as this can be extremely passionate and can be confused as lust but in my mind this is just not the case.
As for how I picure their relationship beginning; that one is pretty easy for me. I picture them quite awkward around one another because Hermione is either still in Seventh year but of age to make her own decisions or she is just out of school and the war is in full swing. I see something happening to Hermione and the only person she has to lean on, to trust, is Severus. I see a deep respect and admiration growing between them during this time and finally a realization that neither can be complete without the other.
Gosh, I hope that makes sense and is not so corny.

by the way Emily, Buttons has got to be my favorite also. Good to have you back!

This is really, really hard... I have so many that I like so much...
I really have to split these into two sections, only because I have a favorite finished one, and a favorite unfinished one.
My favorite finished one is Vanity by Wartcap. You can find this one on Ashwinder. It's amazing, funny, sad, happy and creative all at once... not to mention brilliantly written!
My favorite unfinished story is The Summoning by Bambu345. This can be found on Ashwinder and OWL. It is the most brilliant thing I have ever read. Honestly, no person on the planet could say otherwise. She is amazing!

Finished: I'm stuck between several stories on Ashwinder. I think my favorite is Crossing the Line. I've read it so many times it's insane. I have a feeling I'm forgetting one though, so I might change my answer later.
In Progress:
Volition by polywolly on fanfiction.net. This story is one I can't put down. I seriously am obsessed with the plotline and the amazing ideas and situations that the author has put Hermione and Severus in. I'm only to chapter 10 so far, but there's just so much tension and feelings building up between the two, I just have to keep reading to see what happens! I'm actually reading chapter 10 at the moment as well.

This pairing is one of the sickest things I have ever heard. That is the stupidest pairing I have read so far. Snape and Hermione hate eachother. This is wirse than Snape/Lily or Hermione/Draco. It's even worse than Bellatrix/Sirius (though that is pretty wrong.) Try to think a little bit next time before you post something so completely sick and wrong.

im a little slow on the uptakes here, and people might wanna shoot me for getting off topic, but i wanna answer these question, so yah. here i go.
. How do you see Severus and Hermione's lives playing out after Voldemort is destroyed?
mm, in the real books? it wont happen.but lets say fanfic world here. they'll finally get together, and hermione will finally get to see the real servus, which i think is a horribly stuborn, but still caring man. he and hermione will be together, but i dunno if it would be forever.
2. Do you prefer to read or write Time Turner fics when the characters are young or do you prefer to read or write fics that have Hermione all grown up? Please explain yourself if not for my own curiosity.
mmm, i've read a couple Time Turner fics when Hermione was in her sixth year, and she was turned back to when snape was in his sixth year. it was a great story, but i like the hermione & snape being older, as in snape still being her teacher and she's still in hogwarts. i have started to write my own SS/HG fan fic, but i tend to not like them enouph to post.
Do you think that Severus and Hermione would have kids? Why or why not?
mmm, possibly. honestly, i think it all depends on the final battle between Voldemort and Harry. if harry dies, hermione will need servus for comfort, and that might evolve into a relationship, but if not, i have the slight preminition that Snape will just drift into the shadows once again, and Hermione will have to go get him ..
What names would Severus and Hermione give to their children?
I agree with Lily, I think it would be a strong name, because both Hermione and Servus are strong people, stubborn and independent. their kid would be too.
What is your all time favorite fan fiction for Severus/Hermoine? You can only say one as your main favorite, so make it good.
Uhm, I havent really read any Harry Potter FanFics off of VTM, so I'll just go with the ones i've read on here. my favorite would have to be "In Times Of War" by LilyPotter, even though she stopped posting. I thought it was an awsome story, and the cliffy's were great, because it gave me time to think things over.
But, if any of you have any other really good FanFics off of any site let me know? i'm all for SS/HG fics, there my favorite SHIP.

Hi guys! I'm new on the forum, I just kind of surfed in, and guess what-I find a thread about my favourite ship! And great questions too!
I really believe that the relationship would start with a schoolgirl crush...it doesn't matter that Snape is so mean to Hermione in the books, he is a very intelligent man, also a sort of hero working for the Order. O course, there should be lust

But I think it could develop in something else over time...I'm a romantic, can't help it.
It's hard to point out a single favourite fanfic, but let's say "Saving your life" on fanfiction.net by lilmisblack. Maybe because it's still in progress and keeps my attention

Otherwise, I love the stories of Ms_Figg on adultfanfiction.net. But I warn you, they are VERY adult.

I see there are fans of In Times of War... I must admit I haven't tackled that one yet! I've had it bookmarked on my PC at home forever though! I will deffinitely tackle that one when I return home from vacation!
Some great Time Turner fics are Ygraine's Away From My Window and Aethenon's Our Turn in Time. I don't read time turners often, but those are two that I really love to read!
Also, as I've said previously, Volition is a great one! I don't have the link on me, but it's from Fan-Fiction.net, so I'm sure you can search it.
From Ashwinder there are so many that I love and read continuesly that I couldn't even begin to think of names... I've got a list at home so I'll get to that in my next post.
I will deffinitely check out the stories you all have mentioned as I'm sure I'll enjoy them!

Awwwww..

Thank you Ashley...you're sweet for saying that.
I have a question if you all don't mind. I am going to put it in spoiler tags though just in case some of you haven't got to the end of Deathly Hallows yet *shame on you

If Hermione could have said goodbye to Snape on his deathbed how do you envision that whole scene happening? Would she try to save him? Are his wounds too damaging?
You can just answer or write it in story form if you want. I look forward to your answers!

Hello fellow Severus/Hermione fans! Ja! I think I've never posted anything on veritaserum before!! Yeah, so anyways, I came upon this thread as I searched for a list of S/Hr Classics and saw that you guys were sugesting fanfics, so I decided to drop some suggestions before continuing on my quest of S/Hr-ness! I only read the last few posts so I apologyze in advance if any of my suggestions have been mentioned already!
Before the Dawn by snarkyroxy-
here ...and this one is my favorite. Snarky just...got it! Everything, she developes their relationship slowly as it should be with a relationship as complicated and delicate as theirs without dragging on too much and it is not only about them; the war as she describes it is amazing, and her portrayal of Draco and the amazing part he plays in this is just great!(I ridiculously lust after Draco and Severus...from their extremely sexy names and their dark past to their silky smooth voices, arrogant smirks, brilliant intelligence and drop dead sexy/goregeous/bad boy looks)
Falling Further In by KazVL-
hereAnd They Didn't Live Happily Ever After by Betz-
here ..absolutely one of the best fics I've read period.
And here are a few more that are really good too!
Reconcilable Differences by cocoachristy-
here His Draught of Delicate Poison-
here The Unfortunates by grill-
here Oi, I've read everywhere that
Like Shadows on the Winter Sky by Resmiranda is awesome but I cannot for the life of me find it! I've looked everywhere and Its just dissappeared, so if you guys find it, give us a link!

Hey there nArIan! The fic that you said you couldn't find can be found
here. I had it bookmarked because someone told me to check it out! Ironic eh?
I can't wait to check all those fics out! I've got a lot of reading to catch up on!
Amanda, your question is going to be rather tough for me. I've been working on that to incorporate it into my new fan fic I'm writing (which I've been meaning to tell you about

) so I'm going to have to ponder that one.

Thanks so much Ashley, but that's the thing! I have that link to Shnoogle and it gets me there fine, but when I click on the chapters to start reading it says there's an error 400 something! I do not know if it is my computer or its just that the story really is having a problem! And I've looked everywhere else for it, with no luck! Thank you anyways and if you happen to come across another site where it's posted, give us the link!
On another subject, oh yes, if you have not yet read any of those fics you really have to! Although I should probably warn you two of THE best ones are unfinished, one of them looks to be abandoned but all of us still have hope, and the other looks to be one of those authors who take months to update but still, they are absolutly, completely, worth it. These are It's Falling Further In and And They Didn't Live Happily Ever After. Both of them are just so AMAZING that it completly compensates the fact that they are not finished. I'm one that abosolutely loaths to get involved with a story to find it unfinished and want to wrack the brains out of the author so they keep writting and not leave me in the dark but believe me, these are completely worth it.
The other ones are finished though, in fact I'm currently re-reading His Draught of Delicate Poison and its just hillarious!!!!
Oh and just another thing, whenever I feel like reading a really good fic but dont want to really search that much for it I always go to the Multifaceted HP Fanfiction Awards site (http://multifaceted.creative-musings.com/)

and there are always links to amazing fanfics!!
Edit:Nevermind, I found a way to read it! I just have to keep editing the address because if I click "Next Chapter" it'll send me to an error page! So yeah, thanks anyways! I'll be sure to pop in here now and again! Be sure to catch those stories I told you, they're amazing! And I'll post links here whenever I read a good story!
Mod Edit: Hey! I've merged your two posts for you - we don't allow double posts.
Editing your existing post is preferable.

Amanda, last night I finally got around to answering your question. What I planned to be rather short ended up getting away from me, and now I have it posted as a one shot:

The Final Goodbye. It does have major DH spoilers! (hence the title)
Also, nArIan, I've been reading Before the Dawn as well and I'm in love with it! Great suggestion!

Yei! Glad to be of help! I told you guys that BtD was a great bit of S/Hr awesome-ness!
hermione rox,
After I started reading Falling Further In, I went from being slightly creeped out, to willing them to get it on! Oh, the shame...! *raises left eyebrow menacingly*
The great thing about non-cannon parings are that they are never going to happen, and it takes a really talented writer to convince you that it's going to happen. It's exiting, going outside the box; because its such a controversial romance! Hermione has always been a bit ahead of her years so her being with an older man would be very believable. They also complement each other, since he's the only man [from the books] that can really challenge her intellectually. And, darling...that's why we read fanfiction. I am perfectly aware of the fact that Hermione and Severus would not end up together in cannon, even before reading Deathly Hallows. Do yourself a favor, live a little. What's the fun in reading cannon based fanfiction if its already there, its already in cannon. Fun is reading twits, and controversy, and angst, and watch the improvable become reality in fics.
To be honest, Hermione needs someone who she can see as her equal. Her intellect is obviously a very big part of her, and..well Ron talking about quidditch the rest of their lives and Hermione not having anyone to share her thirst for knowledge and her intellectual skills, and with whom to do research, and read, and just enjoy learning as much as she does, would be kind of mediocre.
Now,
I can say that about R/Hr because I am not on a R/Hr thread and so, I am not disrespecting anyone or hurting anyone's opinion. But you ARE disrespecting the people in this thread by bashing our ship and calling it disgusting on our own turf. This is clear evidence of your lack of reading, or maybe just intellectual skills, as you are apperantly incapable of processing the huge "SUPPORTERS ONLY PLEASE!!!!!!!" that is located at the beggining of this thread.

I'm really new to this site, which is where I was introduced to the whole Severus/Hermione thought. I must say that I just couldn't picture it at first, but reading some of the fanfics got me interested. Thanks for all the suggestions you guys have made as to which ones to read! There are so many, I'll be busy forever!
Like you guys have pointed out, Hermione is a very intellectual person. She needs a challenge. Ron's a great guy, but he's not a book-worm like she is. She wants someone who can discuss Hogwarts: A History with her, and not be surprised when she remembers stuff from class. Snape is way smart, that's been very clear throughout the books. He seems like the kind of guy who would have been just as much of a book-worm when he was in school as she is. I think they are perfect for each other! I knew from the beginning that JKR wouldn't put them together, but hey, this is non-cannon. Another thing they had in common is that they were both teased about their looks as kids. Both were also called names (HG-"Mudblood", SS- "Snivellus").
*yawning* Sorry, I'm tired. later!

...thought I'd add my two cents....
This would probably, without a doubt in the world, be my favourite ship. It's just so...unusual. I never used to be a shipper until I read the works of ladyofthemasque, quite possibly the best SS/HG fic writer of ALL time. Apparently some editor saw her fics and decided to publish her (non HP related works, obviously). Her writing is absolutely amazing, though at times definately not for the squeamish. There is a hell of a lot of smut. Most of her works are on Ashwinder, but her greatest achievements, "In Annulo" and "For Someone Special" (The latter = 169 chapters) are to be found elsewhere (due to legal reasons, the site cannot be posted anywhere publically - it isn't even on Google. I don't want to test the theory) and though most will know the site, PM me and I'll tell you anyway.
Well, just thought I'd add that. You really should check out her stuff if you love this ship. Though I'd clear your schedules for the two I mentioned, 'cause they're kinda long...Lol.

PS- Lily, what happened to Times Of War? you havent updated in ages and they closed your story. have you given up on finishing it? lemme know!
I know, I know... it's been ages and ages. The issue is that I had a portable hard drive (HAD), and I dropped it on the ground, subsequently causing my loss of ALL OF THE NEXT CHAPTER! AH! It was pretty rotten. I lost all of my youtube vids and about 80% of my photo manips that were not already uploaded to photobucket...
I am very happy to say that I took it up again straight away though, and I promise to not let it die. As soon as I am ready to post I will be asking Louise to open it back up so I can finish it.
Thank you all for your time and comments on the story. It makes it all worth it

Some great Time Turner fics are Ygraine's Away From My Window and Aethenon's Our Turn in Time. I don't read time turners often, but those are two that I really love to read!
*squee!*
Those were my fic challenges! And they are simply AMAZINGLY WRITTEN!
I really love those two stories...
On a side note,
for all the SS/HG people interested in supporting the ship openly, I have recently uploaded about 80% of my SS/HG manips to FLICKR. I offer them up to you all for the taking. Please use them to your liking to support our ship and keep it alive!
The photos range in form from Avatars to Pictures to Wallpapers (for both laptop and desktop screens). They are mostly photo manipulations I have done using pictures of Alan Rickman and Emma Watson. I use them a lot on this site and livejournal, and I usually have one of my wallpapers up as my desktop at home and work. Feel free to do the same.
ENJOY!

EDITI forgot to warn you that some of the pictures are a little racy and may not be appropriate for family sites such as VTM. These are rare. Most of them are just fine... but I felt I should caution people.

Ashleigh, I LOVE ladyofthemaque as well! I agree that her writing is extremely risque, but nonetheless amazing. I know her works can be found on Ashwinder, but believe me, I'm not exaggerating... they're for mature readers!
LilyPotter,

Those are amazing! I love your editing of Severus and Hermione! They're all just-- W0W!

Awe
Thanks Ashley! I really love photoshopping them together. They are so perfect for one another...
I was thinking about starting a fan art gift exchange community on LiveJournal. People could join and request art in the theme of a specific character/event/pairing, and others could answer the requests and request on in turn.
Think anyone would be interested?
I may also add contests in the future, once there are enough members...

You're LiveJournal Idea sounds great! I'm addicted to LJ and always find myself searching for Severus/Hermione communities on there, so the more the merrier!
That reminds me, to those other fans who have LJs, there's a community called
grangersnape100 that I love (though haven't had the time to write for yet). I'm pretty sure that Emily is a part of it (if you're Accio on there too?). Just a thought of something to check out!

I am going to post to this week's challenge, though. I really like the ideas she is coming out with lately.
You should all join... It's a fabulous place!
EDIT:Just wanted to let you know, Ashley, that the sshg exchange is accepting requests until the end of the month. I got mine in this morning! Ah! Another project to tackle...

What is your favorite situation to picture/read Severus and Hermione in?

Anything in the bedroom, of course! haha nah... ok yes but other than those scenes...
I really don't prefer the
marriage law fics. I'm yet to find one that keeps Severus in character.
I really like the fics that have them starting a relationship while Hermione is still in school. It's just so... naughty

.
I also really like the ones where Hermione helps Severus with a potions project. It allows us to visualize a situation in which they are getting to know and like each other through working together. These are always best when the two stay in character. i.e. Hermione is a stubborn know-it-all, and Severus is a snarky you-know-what

.

Anything in the bedroom, of course! haha nah... ok yes but other than those scenes...
*nods head frantically in agreement* Too raunchy for Vtm? Aw darn.
Alright let's see... what else do I love. I'm a BIG fan of the whole 'damsel in distress' thing. I love reading about Hermione (or Severus) being in trouble and the other rescues them. To me that situation is so romantic (for lack of a better word) because it's a way of showing that the other cares enough to attempt to save the damsel. Mainly though, I like seeing Hermione in a sticky situation, and Severus bailing her out... then when they're safe, Severus is Hermione's shoulder to lean on, which leads to more.
Another thing that is really frowned upon, but I can't help but love, is the teacher-student relationship. I can't explain why I love reading fics that include that... I guess it's the whole being off limits fact that makes me love it even more.
There are so many other situations that I love! It's hard to remember everything at once.
Where are all of the Hermione/Severus fans anyway? It's been only Emily and I for a whlie now!

Come one, come all!

~Oh for me this is such a simple question. I love the situations where Snape is still seen as an authority figure and both He and Hermione need to work and finding equality with each other. Usually in these situations Hermione has no one else to rely on but Severus and it is in this intimacy that they meet on common ground.
Good question!

Sorry I haven't gotten back here in a while. It's been busy around here. Anyways, very good question!
I like the ones where they're forced to work on something together while Hermione's still at Hogwarts. They have to stay in character, though. I also like when there's something that happens where they have to save each other or stick up for the other one. I also like when they learn to understand each other and why they are the way they are. And when Hermione learns to see him as the attractive man he is!!
