my thought is no way...I don't think I even have to give evidence to this..but snape hates hermione..she's smarter than his prize student (Malfoy) and he would take 50 points from her every chance he got...so...no..very bad match..and we know hermione hates him too...

We've seen Snape protect Harry before...soo...what if he dies protecting him again? we know ppl are gonna die, so i think snape will. besides, i just don't see him being all lovey dovey with anyone...ever.

My best friend's parents are 20-some odd years apart in age, and my parents are 11 years difference. Age means nothing when love is involved.

I don't think it's very likely at all, but if there were a relationship, Snape would be more of a protector. I can't see him getting romantic at all, but maybe if he had to protect someone, say, Hermione, there would be some kind of bond there, though not a romantic one.

I can see the reasoning, however, for this ship. Hermione always sticks up for Snape when Ron or Harry say something bad about him, and in Goblet of Fire, she seems unusually offended when Snape insults her teeth...

Note: Remember... the relationship PROBOBLY means POST-Hogwarts... as in after it. If it means during Hogwarts...well... yea, that is wrong... :S

I doubt that Dumbledore, &/or the school board approve of student-professor relationships of any kind. I think Hermione will eventually get together with Ron. I think they must have had a private (sans Harry) moment at the end of SS while Harry was still dealing with Voldemort and Ron was lying helplessly and tragically on the giant chessboard having just heroically sacrificed his safety for Harry's, Hermione's, the school's, etc. Also, Ron's taller - in the books - as well as in the movie - and that makes a big difference to teen-aged girls (I should know - I've been one). In addition, the fact that they get so annoyed with each other is a dead give-away for that age group, isn't it? Not to mention Ron's jealousy. He just hasn't caught-up with her maturity-wise yet.

But, back to the subject, Snape's a brooder and impossible to read to boot (an occlumens - again spelling?) and that's an irresistible turn-on for any and all women regardles of age. I sort of picture Snape having something going on the side (away from his school and order duties) with Sinistra (spelling?) or someone else who shares his science-oriented values - especially if she also enjoys a good romp in a real dungeon now and then! I have some other theories about Snape's early romantic development and how it may tie into the series' ultimate plot line, but I haven't quite sorted them out yet.
