Hello - thought i'd start up a new topic about hairstyles as i havn't found one about it yet on this forum.
I found a photo of Dan Radcliffe, and thought i should put it on here because it's relevent to what i'm going to talk about.
PhotoI was thinking a while ago: do any of you remember when Dan had his demi-beard for his show equus? Well, i think that he should grow his stubble again for the seventh movie/s because it would suit the whole theme, that the trio are camping, and i doubt Harry and Ron will have time to shave, so they should grow very very very small beards so they look rugged. I don't mean this in an attractive way, but i thought it would make sense if Harry and Ron grew stubbles to make it look like they've definitely come of age.
What do you guise think?

I agree, I think the bit of stubble would look good. I also think that Harry's hair should be much more shaggy, he goes through so much in Deathly Hallows and I think hair cuts would be the last thing on his mind. I really hope they grow it long - maybe not as long as Goblet of Fire, but personally, I thought it was a good length in Prisoner of Azkaban.

The trio's hair should definitely be longer than usual during most of the movie. In the book they really don't have much time to cut it. Dan's hair was kind of short in the fifth movie. That was bad. If they have it that short for Deathly Hallows, I'll be pretty mad. When do you find the time to cut your hair while you're camping out in the middle of the forest? It should be longish and shaggy. Same for Ron. Hermione's should just be a bit messy. If it's styled right, she won't need to change the length.

Surely they can do something with there hair by magic?
I'm not sure about Ruperts and Emma's hair...Ruperts not too long though like GoF. And Emma's bushy Hermione hair back cause thats true to the books, for once.
As for Dan theres one movie where I thought his hair was just right and that was PoA. Just how I pictured Harry's hair, sticking up all over the place. Not too short not too long.

Well, let's see, in 19 years the Trio will be pushing 40. Not exactly old, old, but older. This is what I think the Trio COULD look like by the time they reach 40:
Harry will probably still have all of his dark hair, but he will start showing some gray around the temples. I don't think he will have any stubble, because he is an Auror, and they have to maintain appearances. Maybe a mustache, but I don't think I'd like him with any facial hair.
Hermione will have shorter hair. It would still be curly (bushy), but tamed. She would have a little gray peppered throughout her brown hair. I've always thought of Hermione as sensible and not conceited, so I don't think she will be dying her hair. I think she will age gracefully and well.
Ron will still have his classic mop, always falling down around his eyes. He will have some graying throughout his hair. No facial hair for him either since he too is an Auror.
Neville will have short dark hair with a little bit of gray and a little receding above the temples. I can see him with a mustache.
Luna will still be the eccentric she has always been, God love her! Nothing much will have changed for her. She has good genes, so she still looks youthful and she has no gray hair. Her hair is still long, around her shoulders.
Ginny will have the same hairstyle as her mother (think Julie Walters' [as Molly] hairstyle from the HP movies). Ginny's hair will be a mousy reddish brown. She colors her hair now and again to rid herself of the gray.
Draco still has his blonde hair with just a little gray along the temples. With as much hair as the Malfoy men seem to have, I don't see him as ever balding. I also don't see any facial hair on Draco.

Hmm, i actually pictured Ginny to resemble Harry's mum a little bit ... but i suppose that's my opinion. I don't know why, but i pictured them as looking younger, not with grey bits in their hair.
But i like the idea of Neville with short, black hair and a moustache. He would remind me of one of those good-humoured professors you get, like Lupin sort of.

Eww. If they didnt have time to shave that would mean that emma wouldnt be shaving her legs either.
Again I state. Eww.

HaHa
So I think it would be better if we just assumed that they could magic away their "stubble". I wish I could. that would make life so much easier.

yer stubble for the camping/!!!!
and at malfoy manor harry looks in mirror and sees shoulder length hair
but hermione being a witch will probably be able to magic away her hair

I would imagine that wizards and witches can do just about anything with their wands, sort of like Samantha in the "Bewitched" movie and television series, only she did it by twitching her nose.

So, stubble can be removed by some spell, no need for shavers. Ditto for the witches ~ they can remove unsightly hair on the legs and armpits just as easily.
I liked Harry's (Dan's) long hair in the fourth movie. Prince Caspian's hair (forget the actor's name) in the recent Chronicles of Narnia movie reminded me of Harry's hair in GoF. I also like Harry's hair in PoA. I guess what I'm saying is that he looks great with long OR short hair.
I don't see young wizards having beards as long as Dumbledore's. I would imagine that this is a mark of distinction that comes with age and experience.

In the seventh book - do you remember? - Fleur Delacour's mother and father gave Harry an enchanted razor for his birthday. So they must still need to use razors to shave. True that Wizards could invent a spell to help them shave, but that i think (if i were a witch) would be too complicated and not to mention awkward - it would be much easier to shave your facial or leg hair manually.

Yeah they would probably have to magic away each hair if they used their wands. Haha i love how were talking about how wizards and witches shave

. I thought Harry's hair was perfect in POA, too long in GOF, and way too short in OOTP. I hope its somewhere inbetween his POA and OOTP hair. For Ron his hair has pretty much stayed the same and i love it the way he has it. Acctually he had hair like down to his shoulders in GOF. I didn't like that. Hermiones hair has always been described as bushy, but it was only really bushy for the first 2 films. I still like her hair now because i think as she got older she would be able to tame her hair a little bit better. I don't think we've really discussed this yet but don't you guys think in the past films Malfoys hair has been too short. I liked him better when his hair was a little longer. Not as long as Ron and Harrys though.

Are you talking about Malfoy's hair in PoA, GoF and OotP? Because that's the only time his hairhas been long. I remember when the trailer for PoA came out: i thought they had replaced Tom Felton with another actor because he looked so different with the hair; and the same was with Neville, i didn't recognise him, i thought he was just some random boy with funny teeth, and then they said his name in the Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson with Lupin and i was like, 'OMG! That's supposed to be Neville?'
But, anyway, i think i'm going off topic ... I think that Dan's (AKA, Harry) hair in HBP is between his hairstyles in PoA and Ootp. It's still quite short, but not as weird-looking as it was in Ootp - it reminded me of a crew-cut, the way his hair was so short behind his neck and pudding-bowl shaped around his head. I didn't like it in that film, but i have to say in this one Harry's hair is much better-looking. They showed pictures of him in his quidditch uniform when he's with Ron, Hermione and Ginny at the Griffindor table, and he looked cool, and he just so happened to remind me of how his hair was in PoA when he was in bed in his quidditch uniform.

Yeah, from the picttures we have seen of Harry hair for HBP i hope it stays that way. Umm haha I don't really know what I was saying when I was talking about Malfoy. Just that his hair has kinda been a buzz cut and I think it should be longer and slicked back.

Oh My Word, Rupert Grint has cut his hair. Thos are words i've never thought i'd hear myself say for a long time.
Rupert at Grand PrixIt's actually quite short for once, i don't believe it. I wonder if he'll keep it that way for Deatgley Hallows. He better, because it looks good on him.
And, hey, he looks really cool in this

Oh i like Ruperts hair like that. Maybe he should have it like that for DH, and not the length it has been recently. I think he also looks a lot older. and sorry if i was going off topic before...about malfoy...i didn't realize this was only about the trios hair

OH NO! I don't like that too-very-much-cut hair style for Rupert! That makes him looks like a farmer! (sorrysorrysorry)
I always wondered this: having magic, why on earth didn't they cut their hair as they were camping?! Maybe Hermione did, so why she didn't help the guys? Harry saw himself on the mirror, and I thought at first it was because of Hermione's jinx, that she had regrown it, but then I was
Oh my gosh, a horror! I don't like Harry with messy hair like in GoF, nor Ron: it was too shabby. But not too short, either. I loved them as they looks in OotP and the pics of HBP.
I'd like to see them with stubbles, but yeah, Harry had an enchanted razor, and I bet Ron had one since long

, so if they didn't shave was 'cos they were lazy. (maybe they too their chance and said: "oh, you know, no mums, no comprimises, we're busy hunting down horcruxes ... there's hardly any time left to shave!")
I think that, if Ron has a stubble, it was the reason for Hermione to snog him.

I'd have do it, without thinking.
And Hermione, I
hope that Emma, for just one time in her life, will cast aside trifles and let her hair growing messy and bushy, or I'll lend her mine!

I think that their hair needs to be short in the beginning of the
movie, before they go camping, like during Bill and Fleur's wedding,
because Mrs. Weasley wouldn't have let them have unpresentable
hair to see so many people. But I think after they go camping, even
with magic, cutting and brushing their hair would be the last thing
on their mind, so it should get progressively longer. I know that's
going to be hard to do as they don't film in order, but still...it'd be
pretty cool. Except, I think after Ron leaves and then comes back,
he should have short hair because Mrs. Weasley would be horrified
when he got back and cut his hair. :] I also think that Ron and Harry
should have a bit of stubble, though not even close to being a full grown
beard, that will, again, be gone when he goes back home for a bit.

I quite like Dan's hair from PoA, that's the closest to the books in my opinion. With Emma I think PS style although maybe she uses sleekeasy more often. As for Rupert, He suits the styles he's had so far, OotP style was good too.

Dan's new hairstyle looks good in the seventh potter film. I've seen some set pictures and they look cool. I think he's filled out a lot since Half Blood Prince. I suppose that's to do with Equus.

I just saw a few articles w/ pictures of Emma Watson taken very recently. I think she's filming Deathly Hallows now too...in the pictures her hair looks blonde. I understand that maybe blonde is her natural color and she looks good as a blonde but Hermione isn't blonde... I hope it isn't blonde in the movie! I think Dan looks better with really short hair but I guess Harry's hair is supposed to be messy so maybe GOF was the most accurate hairstyle he's ever had as Harry. As for Rupert, I think whatever he does is fine lol.

I totally agree, but in the last two movies her hair was already pretty blonde. I can understand her not wanting to dye her hair though. I think if it was me, I wouldn't want to die my hair for a movie. It sort of is her duty though, considering she signed the contract.

i agree with the people who say harry's hair was perfect in POA messy, windswept, not to long or to short(looking at you OOTP) for DH i think it would be best for Harry's hair to start out at about POA length and gradully get longer to the point that it's around or even longer than GOF length. as for ron's hair similar scenario gradually get longer. Hermione i would hope for her hair just to be bushy and a bit messier than it has been

I think Hermoines hair should be the same, brown and bushy. I think Harry's should be a little wild and unkept like his fathers. Rons though should be longer than it has been. It is said in the book that it is really long and his aunt says he looks like ginny.
