JK Rowling was a teacher before she wrote Harry Potter (I heard she taught either French or English, I'm really not sure). How cool would it have been to have JK ROWLING as your teacher? Can you imagine, her former students once had a teacher that would go on to create Harry Potter!! I just thought that was worth mentioning/discussing. I wish she was my teacher!

I think now, because Harry Potter has gotten so big, she wouldn't really be able to teach normally. She'd just kind of be in the spotlight about Harry Potter, too many people would be obessing over her. It would be really cool to meet her, but the majority of people wouldn't sit through a class with Ro Rowling without asking millions of questions. I would try to act normal, but I'd probably pounce on her after class and get on my knees and ask for her to write the encolpidia she's been hinting about sooner rather than later. tongue.gif
It would be cool to have had her in the past though, before Harry Potter. Hopefully she still keeps in touch with her students, and they haven't gone fan-crazed yet. You always need those true friends by your side, famous or not.

That would be awesome. Even though every one would bombard her with questions, i think she would definitely be a very creative teacher and she would be able to speak out to kids, seeing as how she's written books that almost every kid has heard about. I'm sure that before Harry Potter she was a good teacher, and obviously she still is because she's taught all of us an enormous amount about the Wizarding World that was at one time all in her head...

That would be really amazing! She taught english abroad I think and then French here in Britain.

On the line of famous teachers, my History and Modern Studies teacher, aside from being the best teacher I ever knew, was the person who wrote the History exams and he had also wroked in television and had many published works. He is apparently very famous in America. My first english teacher, a truely amazing woman who always nurtured my love of reading and creative writing, also had worked in television and had published works. I was very proud to have been taught by them both. My former english teacher is now retired but I thank her for all the support she showed me.

That would be awesome to have had her as a teacher...but I think that it kind of sucks for her now because she can't do that anymore. Everyone would focus on the OMG you wrote HP!! and she wouldn't be able to get anything done. And I think that that would just suck if you had a real calling or something to be a teacher and then your fame at something else made it so that you couldn't do it or that everyone focused on that instead of what you were trying to do.

I would love to have Jo as a teacher-- preferably english -- my teacher is so annoying. She just shhs at us all the time.

I would die though. I'd like walk into class, see her there, and just wet myself.

Most of the people in my school probably wouldn't know who she is though.

Duke - I know how you feel! If I walked into a classroom and saw Jo at the teacher's desk I'd probably jump up and down on the spot screaming my head off.
It would be really cool though. Better than a lot of my english teachers although it's partly thanks to the english department at my old high school that I am such an obsessed fan since they took us to see PS when we were in firsrt year.
