Hey everyone! Stephanie and her friends are back for a sequel! The Unknown Potter: Death Eaters' Revenge can be found HERE. Please leave any feedback, comments, questions, or concerns that you can spare! Just like in the first story, anything you can tell me will prove to be invaluable to the plot of this story! So tell me what you think!

Whoo Hoo, I'm the first to review woot.gif

A very interesting, well written and captivating first chapter (but after "The Unknown Potter" that is too be expected). You already have Stephanie in danger, how could you?! mad2.gif Just kidding. I know that somehow this will all work out... right, it WILL all work out for good in the end? Right?! Right?! (and Draco will get his come-uppance and all the other Death Eaters will rot in hell, right? devil.gif )

I like the cliffhanger you have left us with and am waiting anxiously for your next update. I really am glad you've continued with this story and will stick with you to the end. Thanks for doing such a wonderful job! wub.gif

Thank you for the message, I'm so glad I got to read it. smile.gif

Wow, you jump started the story right from the very first chapter! Already I have questions. First one; Nikki is Nikki Fullbright the Auror right? And I assume she's there for Stephanie's protection from the Death Eaters still out there.

It's such a shame that people couldn't accept Stephanie and still blame her for the things she's done. I understand where they're coming from but all the same, it's not very nice. She really is feeling the effects of the things she's done too, as she wrote in the letter to Neville, about seeing the people she killed and things like that. I do feel bad for her.

The letters at the service contradict each other. In the one she wrote she says she wants to escape, in Draco's he says he has her. Is it possible that they might have paired up to seek revenge? I doubt that, but nevertheless it's a possibility for me. smile.gif My immediate reaction was that Draco does have her but I'll wait and find out!

I had one more question; why is Harry mad at Neville?

Kathleen: I wanted to start this story in a strong way and I previously promised that Stephanie would meet Draco in the first chapter, but I needed to give a little background information first. And I would love to promise you that Stephanie will be alright and that Draco and the other Death Eaters will get what they deserve, but we all know that I can't and won't! smile.gif Thank you for leaving feedback so quickly! I'm sorry to leave you with a cliffhanger, but I love writing endings like that! I'll try to update as soon as I can!!

Lauren: You are so welcome! Yes, I'm sorry that I didn't clarify that better. I have started the second chapter and it is explained in there through Stephanie's point of view. But yes, Nikki is Nikki Fullbright the Auror. Stephanie is still under twenty-four hour protection because of the constant rumors of Dedrick's threat (as mentioned in one of the last chapters, but I'll have to add that as a reminder)!

I want the public to accept Stephanie, but then there really wouldn't have been a story. And I realized that no one except those who were in her hospital room while she was reliving her memories actually knew what happened to her. Of course they would be afraid of her and angry at the Minister for giving her a medal of honor, especially after she had either killed or participated in the deaths of so many people. I just hoped the scene worked well (I kind of wrote it via audio recording while I was driving).

I knew you would point out the letters. You are so quick to see any contradictions (or foreshadowing) and you definitely keep me on my toes! Thank you for that! Anyway, yes, and I'm sure you know that this was my intention. You bring up an interesting theory...we'll just have to wait and see what's going on.

Harry is angry at Neville for a simple reason, and this feeling passed rather quickly. Neville had been studying in Germany with his Herbology mentor. That's why he couldn't make it to the memorial service. But Neville shows up at the very moment Harry finds out something has happened to Stephanie. His quick judgment was that Neville had something to do with it or knew something about it, but that passed when he read the letter that Stephanie had sent him. I just added that part, because I think I would have felt the same way. It's just a quick, irrational thought. Hope that helps!

Thank you for leaving feedback! It always makes me feel so good and gives me ideas to keep writing with! This story will be a little more difficult because all of it will be my own imagination. I'm very interested to see what twists and turns happen along the way! smile.gif

Hey

Welcome back and you start it very interesting with Stefany gone. Come on give us atleast a heads up, but this is very good. Nikki is the Auror that was very dangerous with Stefany, right? I have a hunch that she is a Death Eater nd that she is helpingthat git Malfoy. So I am glad to see that Hermione is taking her studies still very serious, typical. Then Neville shows up and Harry is angry at him for coming that is really weird but you explained it brilliantly. sleep.gif

So you are still the suspence master, keep up the stupendence work that you put into this fic and you can be sure of recieving lots of feedback. biggrin.gif

I love your work wub.gif

The Master of Death
Hello... The Chapter was an awesome beginning for a sequel... It is rich in detail and has a good sense of description... I liked the conference thingy...Anyways a cliffhanger eh?...you certainly left me hanging... i wonder what will happen..
Ps: Thanks for the Owl... (but u better change it...it has a very slow delivery speed...i just got it laugh.gif )
MOD
steppy40
DW: Yeah. Nikki is the Auror. I am still trying to decide how I want to develop that relationship, but she is the Auror that attacked Stephanie when she was first arrested. Now she has been appointed to protect Stephanie. This is because she is the best there is now that Kingsley is the Minister of Magic. You have an interesting theory and we shall see what her true purpose is! Thank you, thank you, thank you! smile.gif

MOD: You know me. I absolutely love cliffhangers! It definitely keeps people coming back for more! smile.gif And I wish I could tell you what was going to happen, but then it would spoil the surprise! You're welcome and I'm sorry about the owl. I'll definitely have to work on that! smile.gif

Yay! The sequel has arrived! I have been waiting for this for a long, long, long time.

That was a very interesting chapter. I liked how people still didn't believe that Stephanie was innocent, even though Hermione, Ginny, Harry and Neville told them why she did the things she did as a Death Eater.

I enjoyed the fact that Rita Skeeter was there as well. Is she going to take the things Harry said and turn them into a big sob story about a crazy young man who claims his murderer of a sister is innocent? Not that I believe she's a murderer...

Will Stephanie be okay? Does Malfoy really have her! I can't wait for the next chapter!
americanprincess19
well this was a nice surprise .... i come online to have a look and suddenly the unknown potters back biggrin.gif .... this has most certainly cheered up my day!!

so i'm very excited to see her and the others back - and i know this will be just as amazing as the last one - i'm also extremely happy you brought neville back and that harry got to tell stephanie's story to the audience - i'm sure they'll understand in the end!

can't wait for the rest of this, i knew you wouldn't keep away for long either! yay! smile.gif smile.gif
steppy40
Ginevra Molly Weasley: So many great questions and I'm not sure on the answers (to some of them) quite yet. We'll have to wait and see what happens. I swear that you'll find out if Draco has her in the next chapter. Thanks for your questions and I now will make sure to add the daily prophet article about Stephanie...though it might take some time to actually figure out how I want it to look. But thanks for the great ideas! smile.gif

americanprincess19: I am glad that I made your day! smile.gif I thought about Stephanie each day since the last posting and I couldn't stay away any longer. I have some interesting twists and turns planned for this story and I am so excited to see where the plot goes! I'll be introducing a few new characters in the next couple of chapters and I'm excited to get everyone's take on that. I will definitely try to post the second chapter soon! smile.gif

Hey

Yeah I am the first to reply to the new chapter and this was a real informative chapter about what is going on in Stefany's life as well as Neville's and George. And speaking of George he is so ar my fav character in these early chapters, the way he was speaking to Stefany was really sincereand I could tell that he is beginning to forgive Stefany and might start to see her as Harry and the others see her, let's hope this is going to happen. After reading the POV from Stefany I can't think that Nikki is involved in the kidnapping Stefany just persuaded her to do what Stefany wanted her to do and that was to leave Stefany alone.

You know the feeds that Draco is using is very clever, but again he is kind of smart seeing as he isn't locked up. I wonder what his plan is with capturing Stefany, he is probably going to blame Harry for his hardship and troubles.

Keep up the brilliant work I love your writing biggrin.gif

cool.gif DW
americanprincess19
yay! another brilliant chapter (as usual) ! smile.gif

ergh pansy parkinson - of all the people in the books i think i hated her the most ... what an ugly human being! oh well .. at least this means that at some point in the story they will (hopefully) both get what they deserve (again, i can only hope!)

i hope that this was wonderful motivation for you to write more! biggrin.gif .... ah im so glad it's back!!
steppy40
DW: You know, I think George always saw Stephanie the way the others did. It was just too painful for him to be around her because of her relationship with Fred. It was just too hard and it reminded him too much of Fred. But I am thinking about something special for them...we'll see how it goes! Thank you for your compliments! smile.gif

americanprincess19: I know, right? I always despised her character! I already have some things planned for Stephanie, Draco, and Pansy. I hope they don't disappoint you!! smile.gif And any time I get any kind of feedback is great motivation. In fact, I think I'll go work on the next chapter right now...! smile.gif Thank you!

Kristin
ChannelingGinny
Awesome 2nd chapter! I had my tissues out for the Stephanie/George scene... quite touching and brilliantly written.

As far as what you have planned for Draco, Pansy and Stephanie I hope it's Stephanie cursing Pansy into oblivion mad.gif . I can put up with Draco and whatever evil he's up to, but Pansy is such a vile character. I have a thing against simpering doormats, which is what she is when it's all said and done!

I'm really looking forward to your next chapter and what mysteries you may reveal! Of course it wouldn't be YOUR writing if you didn't leave us with another cliffy! tongue.gif

smile.gif Kathleen

steppy40
Kathleen: Keep the tissues handy! I have some more tear-jerkers planned! I'm glad that you liked it. It was awkward, but I had to act the Stephanie/George scene out a little so that I could get it just right. And I was definitely pleased with the end result!

I have vague plans, but I'm not quite sure what will happen to Pansy. We'll have to see what my crazy mind comes up with! I already have everything planned for Stephanie and Draco. And I'm glad that you love the "cliffy"! I just want to intrigue my readers to keep them coming back!

Don't worry. I am about 95% sure that the next chapter will be posted tomorrow (Wednesday) evening. I have a crazy, busy weekend, but I'll try to work on the one after that, too. Thanks for all of your patience! smile.gif

dewet_pdw88
Hey

Great the next chapter is up and I have only one negative thing to say: Can't some one kill Lucuis he is really a pain in my ... let's just say he has some big issues. Talking that way to Ms. Weasley, Professor McGonagall and Hermione. I hope that he will pay for that some day. And Stefany is a real weird girl smiling at Draco while at wand point but again she is a Potter and Harry's sister so her ravery isn't something new.

Now this Abby sounds to me like she will be a Sirius Black of new. I mean like Sirius's whole family was is Slytherin and he got sorted into Gryffindor, I think that is going to happen to Abby, her father seems like a guy coming from Slytherin ph34r.gif

So all-in-all a great 3rd chapter keep up the good work tongue.gif

cool.gif DW
steppy40
DW: Your feedback definitely made me smile! smile.gif You know, I once read a fanfic where all of the convicted and captured Death Eaters were killed for their crimes. And I just don't think that I can do that, even though most of them deserve it. I would just rather have them rot in prison and suffer. So, at this point I'm not sure what will happen to Lucius Malfoy, but it is probably safe to say that he won't be sentenced to death. But I do understand where you are coming from!

I know that it's really weird that Stephanie keeps smiling at Draco. It's not normal for someone to be held prisoner and smile unceasingly at their captor. But, trust me, I do have reasons for that. And I'm pretty sure we will learn those reasons in the next chapter!

And I am really happy that you mentioned Abby! You may be onto something, though probably not what you think. You are 100 percent correct in your analysis about her father. He was definitely in Slytherin. And of course I can't tell you which house she is going to be sorted into! But I hope you will be pleased with the end result! smile.gif

Thank you so much and I hope the next chapter won't disappoint you! smile.gif

Kristin
The Master of Death
Awesome chapter... I liked Neville's POV. And I liked the part about Lucius too.. And i can guess why Stephanie keeps grinning...It is pretty much because of what she intends to do and her thoughts about her friends and Neville.. I totally dont understand where this Abby girls come in but by your standards i am sure you ll find a good use for her
Anyways good work wink.gif
ChannelingGinny
Loved this chapter and, or course you left us with a cliffhanger of sorts... introducing us to Abby and giving "just enough information" to make our minds spin!

From reading your feedback responses, my guess is that if Abby's father was in Slytherin and knew about Draco's failed attempt at killing Dumbledore then he must have some ins with a Death Eater or 2 (or 3 or 12). That would mean his "hopefully" response to Draco killing Stephanie is more out of revenge for Voldemort's death than for Stephanie's actions as a Death Eater (I noticed how in their conversation, Abby's father and his friend referred to the Potters' involvement in Voldemort's downfall as their "fault" rather than their "accomplishment" or "good deed".) With Abby feeling compassion for Stephanie I see her being instrumental in helping Stephanie somewhere along the way.

I do agree with your assessment of not killing off the Death Eaters and just letting them rot their lives away in prison. Death is too good for them. It's too bad that the dementors are no longer guarding Azkaban!

As for Stephanie's smiling... I just think she's drawing on her own inner strength and in her own way is showing the world that Draco Malfoy does not own nor intimidate Stephanie Potter. However, I'd think there has to be a way that she can signal where she is or at least give some clues. I know I would if I were in that situation.

Best of luck with the rodeo. Looking forward to next week!

smile.gif Kathleen
steppy40
MOD: Thank you once again for taking the time to leave feedback! I love hearing everyone's theories about what is happening/going to happen. You are definitely close to why Stephanie is smiling, and I promise that we will all learn the significance in the next chapter! And I don't think it'll be in this next chapter but in the one afterwards (but I could be completely wrong here!), there will be a POV for an existing character I haven't done before, so I'm really excited! And don't worry. There is a reason that I placed Abby into the story! We will hear more from her in a few chapters, so don't forget about her! smile.gif

Kathleen: I made a head spin! That makes me so happy! smile.gif You are correct in thinking that Abby's father was in Slytherin and he may or may not have Death Eater connections. But I can't give any details until Abby decides to share that with someone at Hogwarts. I am going to be mysterious here and tell you that it may not be what you think (though it may-who am I to know what is exactly running through your mind?). Abby and Stephanie will meet down the road, as is probably expected since I added her POV so early in the story, but again I can't give any more details than that. All will revealed in good time.

Don't worry, I will think of something to make the Death Eaters' lives more miserable than just being locked in prison. I think I may be close, but I'm not quite there yet. (I love my 35 minute driving time to and from work each day. Many of my great ideas have just hit me while listening [and singing along] to my music!)

You, as well, are really close to the meaning behind Stephanie's constant smile. I thought of having Stephanie signal to the others, but then I realized that she has no clue where she is. She was unconscious when Draco took her there and she has been unable to hear Draco and Pansy's conversations. So she couldn't tell them even if she wanted to, and I doubt that she would want to. And if you take note of something Lucius said (it was deliberately placed in conversation) that no one can enter the enclosure without the password. Even if they found Stephanie, they would have to get into the bubble. But great idea! smile.gif

Thanks so much! I am hoping not to get too much sun (it's usually the hottest day of the year when we have our Rodeo Parade--and the Clydesdale Horses are coming to town!!!--but it'll be a nice break from everything). I'll make sure to keep plugging away at the story and get the next chapter up as soon as humanly possible!

Your new sequel is up and I absolutely love it! wub.gif

Your writing style is easy and interesting to follow, and the cliffhangers keep me hooked. I really like how you use all sorts of points of view. The excitement started at the very beginning and I'm sure it will go on like that until the end.

A lovely memorial service. I think it was one of the better ones that I have read. (No offence to anyone) I like how Snape got an award, and the statue was wonderful.

An intersting twist through out the story; I didn't think of what the public would think of Stephanie. There are quite a few hard feelings, aren't there? mad.gif

How could Draco kidnap Stephanie? Well I know why but I can't belive it! What will happen to her now? And why did they let Lucius out of Azkaban? Sounds a little dangerous.

Stephanie is very brave to keep smiling. I think that she has either cracked, or she knows that she will be safe, she'll escape, live happily ever after, blah, blah, blah... biggrin.gif

I like the new character you put in at the end of your latest chapter. Very intrigiung. unsure.gif

One question: What was Neville doing in Germany? I don't remember reading anywhere what he was doing.

Kel
Ginny.Weasley
Hey I'm sorry for missing 2 chapters, I way away camping in the wilderness for the past week. I noticed your last update was on Jly 9th-my birthday. smile.gif That was pretty sweet for some odd reason hahah.

Chapter 2 was great, it explained a lot about Stephanie's feelings and why she feels the way she did. Draco is an evil little boy who needs to be brought off his horse. I'm glad George didn't get mad at her, that would have been a little hard to bear for me because I love Stephanie and she's been hurt way too much by people she loves. I'm glad that she is at peace now and can still smile even though she may not live.

Chapter 3 introduces wee Abby. I love her character, she's very mature for her age. Her father and that other man said some interesting things. "It's more her fault than Harry's that Voldemort was killed" sounds like something a Death Eater would say to be honest. But I'm glad you had the whole crowd scene in Diagon Alley to introduce Abby. If you had just added her in starting at Hogwarts or something that wouldn't have been as effective.

I'm glad Harry and the gang are just hanging out at the Burrow and listening to Stephanie for once even if they dont like it. I was quite surprised at Ron's reaction to Lucius. If anything I would've thought that Harry or Neville would have been the more violent one even though Lucius had insulted the Burrow.

Where could Draco be keeping Stephanie? I hear Greenland is a nice place. Or somewhere in the Middle East where the British can't go? That's a bit hard to determine. I'm intrigued.

Anyway, great work, and as usual I love it. smile.gif I can't wait to see how Abby turns out.

steppy40
Kel: Thank you! I definitely try to utilize Cliffhangers as much as possible, though I feel so guilty about it when I can't post as close together as I would like! And don't worry, I have quite a bit of excitement planned and I am so happy for the way this sequel is starting out! smile.gif I'm quite pleased that you liked the memorial service. I am really bad at inventing things like that, and I didn't want to focus too much on it. But I felt that Snape should have gotten an award for his sacrifices. Everyone needs to know how much he did for the defeat of Voldemort.

And I figured that Stephanie had been so widely known as a participant in so many killings that those fears wouldn't be gone overnight. That's one reason why I made Draco's kidnap of Stephanie so public, so that they can begin to see the real Stephanie (that and Draco wants to boast and show off what he is capable of!). I just want the public to know what Stephanie is truly like, that she is not the person they believe her to be. Oh, and don't worry. They took Lucius back to Azkaban!! He is NOT going anywhere. I will definitely make sure of that!

And I'm not sure that I explained why she's smiling all the time. But don't worry, we get a Stephanie POV in the next chapter and she'll explain what's going on. She hasn't cracked...and I'm not sure that she will live happily ever after...We'll have to see! smile.gif

QUOTE
One question: What was Neville doing in Germany? I don't remember reading anywhere what he was doing.

Neville went to Germany to study Herbology with one of his mentors. That was stated in one of the final chapters of the The Unknown Potter. He was supposed to be there for six weeks, until it was time to take his N.E.W.T.S., but, of course, he came running when Stephanie wrote him that letter.

Thank you for your feedback and I can't wait to hear more!

Lauren: I hope you had a blast camping!! And Happy Birthday!!

First of all...I just felt it would be a great relationship to start developing: George and Stephanie. They know what each other is going through and they are the best people that can support the other. I think it's cute and I was happy that George could be there for her.

Abby. I just started to develop her character as I wrote that POV. I knew that I needed a new character (for purposes we shall find out about later) and I just adore her already. And I can't wait to let you all know what her relationship with Stephanie will be!! And I'm glad that so many people picked up on that comment made by Abby's father. I introduced Abby at Diagon Alley because I really wanted my readers to get to know her away from Hogwarts. We'll see why when she makes another appearance down the road (not sure when that will be, so keep her in the back of your mind!).

Honestly, Ron had been so quiet that I had to utilize him in some way. And I thought it was kind of funny that he attacked Lucius. That's why I added that part! smile.gif

I'm glad that I have you intrigued. And I am so excited because I have decided on several twists and turns to add throughout this story.

Thank you so much for your feedback! The next chapter will probably be posted on Tuesday or Wednesday!! smile.gif

Hmmm .. it seems i haven't left you feedback in quite a while ... sorry!!

Wow, i'm definitely enjoying this story smile.gif

Stephanie is so much stronger than Draco and i'm glad that she can be so strong around him - i mean, either way she wins. She dies - she gets peace and to be with all those who died. She lives - she gets to go back to Harry and the others (and hopefully get together with neville!) Draco is just a stupid little fool!

And i'm very intrigued by this new little girl, though her family seems to be slytherinish ... let's make her a good'un please!!!

Can't wait to read the rest smile.gif

Hey Kristan!!!

First of all I just wanted to say thank you for writing the sequel so quickly!!! I have just read the first 3 chapters that you have written and I have to say OMG!!! I loved it completely and I can't believe in the first chapter something bad has to happen in your story!!! It's just as amazing as The Unknown Potter, actually I think this one is going to be ten times better!!! I really want to know what happens next!!! Keep Updating!!!

Cheers

americanprincess19: You have nailed Stephanie's POV exactly. Either way she gets to be with the people she loves, they would only be different people depending the outcome. I love your theory about Neville, though I can't say either way...And I love your description of Abby's family: "slytherinish." Though I am glad that I portrayed the pretty well. We'll see what happens when she arrives at Hogwarts!

Namra: Welcome back! I don't know if I can make it better than The Unknown Potter, but I am surely going to try! That's for sure! And I posted the next chapter, but it'll be a few chapters down the road until we learn what happens to Stephanie, Draco, and Pansy. I have some exciting things planned and I can't wait for you, and everyone else, to read them!

I hope everyone has a good weekend and I'll post as soon as humanly possible! smile.gif

OK, will you ever write a chapter I DON'T like? tongue.gif Chapter 4 was quite good and I liked the growth Harry has achieved. I think this will be instrumental in helping Stephanie (Harry's new attitude). Was Professor Sprout possibly leaving and having no DADA teacher foreshadowing of Neville and Harry (and Company?) returning to Hogwarts to pitch in in the teaching capacity? That coupled with Martin taking some aurors with him to find Draco, the field of potential DADA teachers is greatly diminished!

I LOVED Stephanie's POV! I'm so glad she's such a strong person, even in her weakened state. Again, I had my tissue out when she was talking with Fred. I'm really glad you found a way to bring him into this story!

Looking forward to Stephanie's conversations with Dumbledore, Snape and Sirius (hoping Sirius and Snape can be civil blink.gif )

Enjoy the rodeo?

Hey nice chapter... And another cliff hanger... And this one, more anticipating then the last... I want to see Stephanie talk to Albus Severus and Sirius. I just cant believe Steph cant figure out about neville tongue.gif
NKIqbal
Awesome Chapter!!! It was so sweet when you wrote about her playing with the dog, stag and werewolf, but the most emotional bit had to be when she was talking to Fred!!! I think we all missed him from The Unknown Potter!!! I can't believe Stephanie is finding it that hard to realise that it's Neville who loves her and not George because that would be very awkward for him and for everyone else, including her!!! Fantastic cliff hanger by the way and like what ChannelingGinny said I hope Snape and Sirius act civil while they are talking to Stephanie. Can't wait for the next chapter!!! Keep Updating!!!

Cheers

Ginny.Weasley
eeek.gif That had to be one of the saddest things I have ever read. I'm talking about Stephanie's POV mostly, but the whole thing was just sad! Her hallucinations remind me of the time in DH when Harry "met up" with Dumbledore at King's Cross or wherever. Fred is one of my favourite characters, and his words of wisdom and Stephanie's words are what really got me. You really expressed her feelings well in that chapter; I could empathize with her a lot. You really captured her sadness and her 'despair?' and showed us how truly unhappy she was. It was a very powerful passage. I do think her hallucinations are something magical though.

That Martin Weber character seems fishy to me. I have a theory about him. Stephanie said that Draco must be getting help from someone, and Martin requests to take a bunch of Aurors to South America. Well this leaves Britain open to attack and without defenders. So I think it's possible that Martin and Draco are working together. Even if they're not, I still think that Martin is up to something... ph34r.gif

Harry has definitely grown up and matured thanks to Stephanie. Poor Hogwarts is so unlucky. They are running out of teaching options, so maybe it's possible that the group goes to teach there. You definitely hinted at something there. wink.gif

I love your writing, and I am envious of your story telling abilities. I'm excited to read about Albus, Severus, and Sirius' conversation with Stephanie. smile.gif

Hey

Awesome!! this was a brilliant chapter.

Harry and Neville attitude towards Rita's articel was really unexpected I didn't think that they would side to kind of protect Rita and I know that is not they fact, they just matured during the war and through Stefany's ordeal.

Let's hope that Martin can get to Stefany without Malfoy figuring it out and doing something that would hurt or worts killing Stefany, but again Malfoy might know that the Aurors are there before they even know it ph34r.gif He is evil in that kind of way.

And Stefany's POV was expertly written. I ope that the hint that Fred dropped is about a certain clumpsy boy *cough* NEVILLE!*cough* I really hope so. Go Neville biggrin.gif

Again really well done I hope to read more very soon tongue.gif

WOW! What a wonderful birthday! So many people leaving me feedback! You guys make me so happy! (I know that may be kind of cheesy, but it is 100% true!)

Kathleen: I hope that I don't write a chapter that you don't like. If I do, then I think I will have become a failure! I am not going to answer your question about Hogwarts because I don't want to give anything away. But just know (as you and several others) that I have carefully placed many hints of foreshadowing in these first chapters. You may or may not be correct in your theories-we'll just have to wait and see! But I will give it away that an Auror will not be the new DADA professor. As to the other positions, we'll just have to wait and see! smile.gif

And I forgot to place an admission at the end of the chapter. I was honestly in tears as I wrote Stephanie's POV. It was a POV that I had spent a good length of time working out in my mind and it was very emotional for me. I used my experience with people who have lost loved ones and it turned very personal (though I have not lost someone so close to me). My heart just went out to Stephanie.

The rodeo was great! Thanks for asking!! I got to spend some good quality time with a few of my girlfriends and it was just nice. (And I met (and got my picture taken with) Larry the Cable Guy!). smile.gif

Thank you for your comments!

MOD: I won't give it away, but Dumbledore doesn't say much to her. We'll see what it is he instructs her to do. And Stephanie has a self-esteem problem, and that is why she can't see that Neville loves her. I'm sure that you can see that I'm setting something up. *foreshadowing* ! smile.gif Thank you!

Namra: Thank you, thank you, thank you! I thought it would be a nice addition for her to play with the Animagi forms of her dad and his friends. And I kind of set that up for when Fred and the others came to her. We'll see how Snape and Sirius handle each other! smile.gif

Lauren: I'll admit that I kind of used the DH scene as inspiration. It is a little contradictory because I describe her being truly happy and then show this scene where she is truly in despair. But she is happy because she knows that she will be at peace at last and sad because she lost her best friend and lover. I hope it's not too confusing, but I definitely think it's possible. And when you say her hallucinations are somewhat magical...I have a new POV (of an old character) that will somewhat show that you are right. We'll see, though! smile.gif

You have really great insight and theories. I am quite intrigued by your thoughts of Martin Webber. But, as you know, I cannot give you any answers!! We will find out whether he is a good guy or a bad guy eventually...so, you may be right or you may be wrong. But it is definitely fun to hear what you (all of you) think is happening or going to happen! Thank you everyone for that! smile.gif

And about Hogwarts, you are right. I did hint at something, but again (and I know I say this a lot), we'll have to see what happens! smile.gif And thank you, but you shouldn't be envious. Lauren, you, too, are an amazing story teller and I love reading your fics! smile.gif

DW: Thank you! smile.gif You are the first person (I think) to mention the article. And I originally wanted them to get all angry, but I knew that Harry had matured too much for that. If he were to get angry at the article, then I would have had to have him go looking for Stephanie. But I need him at the Burrow (for a purpose that will reveal itself in the next couple of chapters) and thus, needed him to be much more mature than that.

I have my plans for both Stephanie and Neville, whether that is for them to be together or apart, that is yet to be revealed. But just know that whatever happens, I feel is in their best interests! Thank you. I will update as soon as I can! smile.gif

Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments! I will update as soon as humanly possible. I have a good start on the next chapter so it shouldn't be a whole week like last time!! smile.gif

That was a fantastic Chapter!!! GO Stephanie!!! I was not expecting Draco to give her food and water after what she had said to him!!! Wow!!! George is so sweet, he thinks his brother Fred can do anything to protect Stephanie and in a way I think Harry also thinks the same!!! You know what??? I too think that Fred will do anything to help Stephanie!!! Can't wait for the next chapter!!! Keep Updating!!!

Namra: Thank you! I had Stephanie stand up for herself so that Draco would see reason and give her food and water. That's pretty much the main reason she had her outburst. Now she at least has a chance to defeat Draco, even though she's still really weak. I have the battle all planned out, but it's not quite perfect yet. Thanks for the feedback! smile.gif

MOD: I'm glad you liked it! I hate to tell you, though, that the battle probably won't take place in the next chapter unless I decide to split it in two. But don't worry, it's still coming! And I think it's going to be pretty good. And I had fun writing George's POV, it shows a different side to him. (My favorite part was the popcorn!) smile.gif

Two more awesome chapters!

That was so sweet when Fred was talking to Stephanie. And Dumbledore and Severus' encouragement to get her to fight. That was very touching.

I loved it when Steph confronted Draco. I didn't expect him to give her food, though I suppose she had to eat somehow. Calling him a coward was pretty risky though. Now Draco is plotting something else. blink.gif

Rita's article was pretty mean, but that's Rita for you! I liked how Harry and Ron stood up for her.

Georges point of view was very cool. I liked the popcorn too! That's what I like about your writing so much, the different POVs. Kingsley's meeting with Martin Webber was interesting as well. I hope he finds Stephanie soon! smile.gif

Well, you have yet to write a chapter I don't like tongue.gif so you're still good in that regard! This one was even better than the last, although I didn't have my tissue out... but I almost did! There was just enough humor to curb the tears. I really enjoyed George's POV and that he was so perceptive in knowing Stephanie was talking to Fred.

I'm eager to see this curse of Stephanie's. My memory is bad, so can't recall her using it in your last book. Perhaps it's one of those memories we didn't see? Draco is so nasty, but whenever Stephanie shows him compassion I tend to feel pity for him and lose my desire to see him suffer for eternity!

Looking forward to your next chapter.. just Git-R-Done biggrin.gif

Kel: I try to get myself to connect with Stephanie on a personal level so that I can understand her completely. And I just felt that she would struggle in that situation and the only way to motivate her was to have some loved ones come visit her. And I didn't have her parents come see her because she doesn't know them at all; she really needed someone that knew her and knew what she was capable of.

I absolutely loved when Stephanie called him a coward. But what I had the most fun with was Harry's reaction. Instead of freaking out, he knew exactly what Stephanie was up to. I loved it, every moment of it! smile.gif I think that scene really showed Harry's maturity level.

Thank you for the birthday wishes! smile.gif

Kathleen: That's a relief! smile.gif George and Fred POVs were/are always so difficult for me to write because my sense of humor differs so greatly, so that's why I haven't had too many of those. But I figured it would be a nice change of pace to have him bring in that popcorn. That was one of my great ideas that popped into my head during my daily commute.

And this new Curse hasn't been discussed before. It's a memory we didn't see while Stephanie was in the hospital. And at first glance it may seem that it isn't that bad of a spell, but don't worry. If it is used, everything will be explained in good time! (That's me being mysterious if you couldn't tell!)

Thank you for taking the time to comment! smile.gif

So ol' Snivellus and Black can't get along, even in death. I just had to chuckle to myself when I read how you wrote their interaction; it was so natural and I would bet my socks that is exactly how JK would write it. But of course I like your action so much better. smile.gif

Stephanie's confrontation with Draco reminded me of a phrase I read in a book once. The phrase is; "she awoke with a fire in her" and it definitely suits Stephanie in this chapter. Whether she realized it or not she was giving up completely and she didn't even care. Now she awakes and calls Draco a coward and many other things. But then, to shock us all, she mentions the letter. Nice add by the way- I had actually forgotten about that. But she gets her point across and it's clear that she won't be giving up for a little while.

I really enjoyed George's POV, it was something new and interesting to watch. And I love how he left Lee in charge of the shop-dear Fred must know something. But anyway, I could really feel his old self hidden behind his words. He still grieves for Fred but underneath his seriousness, the old spark is there. It's most apparent when he gets the popcorn, that's something the old George would have done. laugh.gif

I'm curious about the spell that Stephanie invented. I'm sure you haven't mentioned it before and I'm quite curious to find out what it is. But I know the rules! I'll have to wait and see. wink.gif

Lauren: You paid me the highest compliment I think I could ever receive. Thank you very much, it definitely means a lot to me! smile.gif And that quote is exactly what happened to Stephanie. Whether magic or not, seeing those people really woke her up and provided her the opportunity to see what was before her. And when I wrote the scene about the letter, I had always planned to bring it up again. If I remember correctly, I even added some foreshadowing (something I have become famous for)! Remember, very little in my stories are added by accident! smile.gif

George's POV was something that really intrigued me. I know that he's still grieving, but he was way too serious. So, I added the scene with the popcorn, which is one of my personal favorites!

And you know me too well. I will give away that Stephanie does decide to use it (or else why would I bring it up, right?), but it won't be explained right away. I can't wait to get your thoughts! smile.gif

Thanks again!

Another sad chapter for me. This story is much more mature than the first, what with all the growing up the characters have done. Plus, they aren't kids anymore anyway so obviously the story would be more mature.

Kingsley has to have the most difficult job there is. Being the Minister he makes the calls on what to do and sadly he can't appease everybody. He tries the best he can and he works so hard to help out. I'm sure it must have been incredibly difficult for him to call off the search. He was always so supportive of Stephanie.

Stephanie's goodbyes were sad to be sure. She talked to all of them, gave them the advice they so desperately needed in their lives, whether they knew it or not. I like the contradictions in her words. On the one hand she is preparing herself to die and letting herself say goodbye to them. But on the other hand she is talking about the future and things she would like to accomplish. I like this because it shows that she will still fight, but she knows that there's a strong chance she won't make it. I feel really badly for her because of all the suffering she's gone through throughout this story. I wonder if anyone in the real or fictional world could be as strong as she's been for her whole life. It's something I'll be thinking about.

I'm quite anxious about the duel, and what Draco will do. This spell of Stephanie's seems quite dangerous but I wonder if she would use it on Draco. I know she sort of has a soft spot for him- she's always trying to save him. I wonder if it came down to her or him, whether she would sacrifice herself again to save him. You're still constantly surprising me, even after all this time. I can't wait to see where you take us with this story. smile.gif

I think that the characters have matured so much since the very beginning. They just seem so grown up and accept things easier.

Neville's point of view was so sweet. I keep wanting to push the two (Neville and Stephanie) together. They both seem discouraged about their "relationship".

I think the part that grabbed me the most was Stephanie's dedications and speeches to everyone. I think I shed a tear or two. It was so touching the way she mentioned a bit about each person. I like it when she passed on Fred's message and the *ahem* Exploding Button. biggrin.gif It was sad that she was accepting her fate like that. But I suppose she had to be prepared if she...she.. goes What will come will come! And I hope it comes soon.

Cliffhangers! I can't wait for the duel; it sounds exciting. Also- Harry and Draco alone? I am afraid of what those two might do to each other. huh.gif

Lauren: You know, I've been thinking about what you wrote about their maturity. And I don't think that I could write Stephanie et. al. POVs from their younger days again if I tried. But anyway, onto your other comments. smile.gif

Kingsley's job is a difficult one and I honestly don't envy it. I originally had it planned that they look for Stephanie until the end, but I just didn't think it would be realistic. And you have a great point with Stephanie's goodbyes. I think it definitely shows her maturity to see both sides, and I think that's one reason why Kingsley wishes he would have accepted Stephanie into the Auror Training Program. But, honestly, people are stronger than they ever think they can be. You'd be surprised how strong a person can be when placed in certain situations. I think, if in Stephanie's situation, others could react the same way. smile.gif

And I'm glad that I still surprise you! You know what I'm going to say before I even say it, though. We'll just have to wait and see about the spell! smile.gif

Thank you!

Kel: I have plans for those two (maybe not together, though)..don't worry! At least one of them will be happy with my choice of significant other! smile.gif You liked that, eh? About the Exploding Button. I just figured it was something that they would create...imagine. An Exploding Button you put on someone's shirt...a bit dangerous, but something they would come up with.

And oh the possibilities! Draco and Malfoy alone. Can you imagine the fun I could have with that?!? I love giving myself opportunities like that (regardless of whether or not it makes it into the story). (Might be an idea for a one shot, though)! smile.gif

Thanks for taking the time to comment and I am so glad that you continue to like the story! smile.gif

Awl :[ I just read the first...Five? Six ? Chapters. I can't remember how many there are at the moment, rofl.
I think I may have to go back and read The Unknown Potter, I've forgotten alot of things from it, and I don't want to base my opinion on tiny fragments of memory. Are the chapters shorter? I used to ask you that on the other one, too. They seem shorter, not a whole lot, but a bit noticeable. Maybe they are not and I am just losing it. I guess I could check it on wordpad, but I don't really feel like it.
Well, I'm going to go back and read some of the old chapters, and I can't wait for the next one !

-xxSkyblue

[Edit] I was wondering, is there anyway Ron could use the detonator from Dumbledore to find Stephenie? I know he wouldn't be able to go inside the house because of the spells to keep people out, but it could take him close to the place where Draco is keeping her, couldn't it? [/Edit]
steppy40
xxSkyBlue: I don't think the chapters are shorter. The average length is about ten pages...there was only one so far that was about eight. But a few have gone over ten, so it evens out. I am up to 72 pages so far (with title page and table of contents..yes, I type it as if it were a book--I'm weird, I know! smile.gif ). It may just seem that way because I think there's more dialogue than before. And by detonator, I imagine you mean the deluminator? Honestly, I had totally forgotten about that. But I don't think it would have worked in this situation, anyway. Ron was able to use it only because he felt so horrible about abandoning Harry and Hermione. (Let's pretend that they tried it and it didn't work!). smile.gif Thanks for the idea, though! If I had gotten it before I posted the battle scene, I probably would have been able to fit it in somehow.

Well now that was interesting. First though; congrats on the job opportunity! I hope you'll like it. smile.gif

I feel a slight bit bad for Draco because his loneliness and neglection as a child definitely played a part in who he is today. The saying "A child learns what they live" is very true. But I don't feel so bad for him that I condone his actions. He really should have been smarter and not so proud. Taking Stephanie to the Burrow was an act for show, but he didn't think of how it might affect her. He is so focused on his superiority over her that he probably hasn't realized that she isn't like that anymore. But she reminded him thankfully.

Stephanie fought a good battle. Though I must say I could just tell that when Draco put her wand at his feet and told her to get it, I just knew he would use her unawareness to hurt her. How she had the strength to get up is beyond me, but rage and determination would do that to a person. Her spell; Perdo Infestus was interesting. I think that Perdo would mean lost, but Infestus I'm not quite sure. Draco lost his hatred and became peaceful but it didn't seem to be that terrible a spell. But knowing you you'll have some secret motive behind it so I trust you on that one. smile.gif

It was a smart move by Stephanie to use Legilimens on him. She finds the sad and lonely boy she knew was there all along and she pities him. But now you told us Draco got help and I just wanted to make a comparison here in regards to my other theory of who it might be.

Martin Webber was described as (Chapter 2);
QUOTE
Neville turned and looked at the short and horribly obese man.
And the man that helped Draco was described as (Chapter 7);
QUOTE
After a few, she watched as a short, fat man that she had never seen before help Draco plot points in a wooded area.

Now to me this just sounds like the same person. So the big question is; Is it really? And if so, how on Earth did he get to be the head of the new Auror unit? Hmm...

I thought Stephanie's attraction to Draco's scent quite intriguing. Of course she is a female who has hormones and such but to be attracted in that way to one who is about to kill you and has tortured you for your whole life? That would be confusing.

One last comment about the battle. Draco Malfoy killed Fred Weasley?! My my that puts a twist on things doesn't it? Draco killed Fred but Stephanie saved his life a few moments later. Draco definitely doesn't deserve her kindness which she continually gives. Which connects to my above comment about her attraction to him. Has she always been saving him because of this secret infatuation that perhaps even she is unaware of, and this leads to her compassion and pity for him? Or is this simply the person she is? I might just be reading too far into it. tongue.gif

I really loved the chapter, it answered many questions for me and gave me an opportunity to do some more theorizing. smile.gif Thanks!

The Master of Death
Thanks a lot. I wasn't expecting a chapter this weekend(thats Friday and Saturday for us) but you certainly made my day. Awesome! You are right when you said that this might as well be the best chapter you ever wrote..And thats saying something as you are a fabulous writer. The Chapter is what i have been waiting for a long time. Stephanie faces the world..Stephanie tells everyone what she thinks. Everything. I might have said that i wanted the fight but this fits perfectly..All What Steph says to Everyone... And Especially Harry, i will say. Anyways nice chapter and thanks for the promise that you will update the duel in the next chapter. biggrin.gif wink.gif
ChannelingGinny
Another great chapter. I liked Stephanie's good-byes, and even got a little teary. I like how she's both saying good-bye AND making plans for the future.

I still don't see Neville and Stephanie together. I'm not sure if I see Stephanie with anyone after Fred, but whoever she ends up with would have to be someone new (IMHO). Or maybe she'll end up with Draco wacko.gif . Part of me can see that and the other part of me just slaps the first part! I grew up watching too many soap operas where that sort of thing happens and they end up as a "super couple"!

I wonder if Stephanie were to say "Well, the moon is up, so that means it's day #n..." that could give the MoM an idea as to where she was. Maybe if it were still sunny in London or the sun had just set or the moon was up in London as well, then they could get an idea of what time zone she was in. I got that idea when you mentioned that Stephanie could see the moon and stars.

OK, you never mention something without a reason, and I know you won't tell me straight out, but is the butterfly significant? Stephanie noticed how beautiful it is and how it's spots distinguish it from others, so I was just wondering if this is important?

Thanks for such a great story!

The Master of Death
Hey I just read the new chapter. Its nearly as awesome as the last. The duel was just mind blowing. Stephanie has never been at her best..It was awesome
By the way congrats on getting the job biggrin.gif . But that means we wont be seeing much of you eh? mellow.gif
steppy40
Lauren: Thank you! smile.gif You are 100% correct. Draco's taking Stephanie to the Burrow was his confidence that he could beat Stephanie. He never had any intention of giving her her wand, so he felt that he couldn't lose. And I think I warned people before about the Spell. It doesn't appear that it is all that terrible, but Stephanie has reasons to believe that it is. It shall be explained in the next chapter. I promise! Perdo does mean lost...by the way. smile.gif And with the person who helped Draco...You may be onto something! But, of course, I can't give that away, can I?

Okay, I need to clarify something about the scent. It was the same thing as when Stephanie describes the intricacies butterfly (an observation of Kathleen's!). She has accepted that she might die, even though she is going to fight to stay alive. Her senses are at a heightened level because of this. Her notice of Draco's cologne was just one of observation due to these heightened senses. She wants to take everything in if she may never be able to do so again. She, in NO WAY, will ever start dating Draco. That would be too creepy for me to even think about. She feels sorry for him because, even though they grew up in the same household and she had been deprived of everything for most of her life, she now has everything she needs. And Draco has nothing. She pities him and she understands how he turned out the way he did. Stephanie is probably the ONLY one that can completely understand Draco.

Hope that answered your questions, Lauren (and Kathleen).

MOD: Thank you. I am so glad that I made your day!! And I am so happy that you enjoyed the battle. I was really nervous about this one..I didn't feel like it was as good as it could have been (things have been crazy around here lately). But I'm glad you really liked it! And I will honestly work so hard to keep updating..but things should settle down in September...we'll see! smile.gif

Kathleen: I answered one of your questions in a couple paragraphs above. I hope that clarifies things for you! Again...NO plans for Stephanie to end up with Draco!! smile.gif Too weird...no. smile.gif And I never thought about that with the time zone...but I also couldn't have a way for them to rescue her...she needed to have the fight with Draco. You make an excellent point, though. If I didn't answer your question about the buterfly, just let me know!

Thanks everyone! I'll post as soon as I can!
