Although since my family has been here (America) since the revolutionary days I'm American.

Mom's side:
Great-great-great grandmother full blooded Cherokee Indian, she married a full blooded Irish immigrant. great-great grandmother 1/2 Cherokee 1/2 irish, she married an irish/scottish man... great grand mother Cherokee/Irish/Scot... she marries 1/2 Cherokee 1/2 Irish man... Grandma is a mix... Mom is a mix plus a little more irish and cherokee.
Dad's side:
Great grand ma was Creole and Indian/Scottish.... she married a Scottish man. Grandma is mixed, married a man that was about 3/4 Scottish. My Dad is a mix of Scottish, INdian, German, and a bunch of other things...
Me? I can still list "Native-American" on the ethnic question... And according to my father, he's had his family tree traced back to the Scottish Poet Robert Burns (my dad himself is a Burns... and I still have yet to see the family tree that traces us to Robert Burns...)
HOw I name my heritage... "I'm Cherokee/Old World" becuase my dad's side has so many nationalities in it that I can't name them all

heh heh heh....and its scones...don't forget the scones...
Anglophile....any particular reason why you want to live here?
It ain't all Beefeater's and afternoon tea, ya know....mostly, it's run-down inner-city council estates, sprawling, ugly manufacturing plants and cooling towers belching out noxious fumes. Sure we have some nice countryside and castles and stuff, but unfortunately, they only tend to be seen by the tourists.
Although I must congratulate Tony Blair's government in the one thing it actually has done right this term - stamping out on that "great" British institution, fox hunting. About time.

My mum's side is all Scottish until she moved to England and married my dad who was all English (with some Scottish somewhere)
I am 1/4 English and 3/4 Scottish
About four years ago, my mum was saying about how she wanted to go back to Scotland. So we moved, and that is where I am now - where I think I should be. It's kinda cool, because I can speek Gaelic really easily as my Grandad used it a lot.
So, my family has never moved out from this small island...

i live in florida.........southern Florida.......and as many people know
1. It's always HOT!
2. It's FLAT!
the particular reason i want to move to England is because it's land is so beautiful, i love the landscape
plus i love the weather it's cold, and rainy......it's perfect to me!
i have always lived somewhere that is flat
born in st. lucia- a small island nothing special
lived in Guyana- FLAT FLAT HOT HOT!!!
now in florida- FLAT FLAT HOT HOT!!!
nothing's wrong with florida, i somewhat find myself wanting to live in Engalnd ALOT more the Florida
another thing i like is that, their are many indians in England
if you look here in Florida it's got many spanish people, nothing's wrong with spanish people i have loads of spanish friends..but i feel alone sometimes

in my school there are like less than 5 students who are indians including me and my brother.
so there you have it!

I'm from the United States.
I would like to move to London some day. I was there for a week last year (Spring Break) and I did not want to come home. The culture is quite a bit different from the US. More weight is put on theatre and arts. There's not enough of that in the US.

I am from Bonny Scotland (for those of you who don't know thats the country at the top of the UK lol) I love the place but the weather is terrible lol and theres also the fact that JKR is from there and Robert Burns it just goes to show that for all we're a small country our people have big achievements.
My family i think are all from Scotland except theres a possibility one of my Gradmothers are Russian and I think one of my aunts was born in India when my Grandparents used to live there.
Thanks for complimenting Scotland I know its an absolutely beautiful country but you can'tfully appreciate it unless you visit someewherre like the highlands because thats where Scotlands true beauty is held. I am personally from Glasgow but love going hillwalking in our local hills the campsies there are streams that are beautiful small waterfalls wildlife of all kinds. Sorry getting carried away with myself lol.

Okay let's see...I was brought up in Malaysia but now am living in New Zealand.
The breakdown of my ancestry/heritage is...I'm half Malaysian Chinese, a quarter Straits (those from Malaysia would know what I mean...) and a quarter Thai.

I look like the typical Chinese (which annoys me at times

) but am the most UN-Chinese person you could come across.

Don't get me wrong, I'm proud to be a Chinese, it's just that I wasn't brought up the traditional "Chinese way"...heck, I can't even speak Chinese!!

OH! I'm South East Asian too, Pakistani, and very proud as well!!

Hmm, luckily, I had to do a project on my family history, and I was able to trace back to the 13th Century!!!!
Well, I was born and raised here in Chicago, IL, boring USA. Both of my parents were born and raised in Pakistan. (For those of you geographically challenged, including myself, that's the country that directly borders India on the west.) I'm first generation here because my dad went to Canada for his masters degree and then came to the US for his ph.d. During the time he was in the U.S., he went back to Pakistan to get married, and settled back here.
But, if I go back further, before the country of Pakistan was even created, my grandparents were born and lived in Northern India. They migrated to Pakistan once it was created, so in a way, I'm sorta Indian...I don't really know how to explain it. If I go back even further, I'm related to Shah Jahan, this guy who built the Taj Mahal... That's all I really know about my family history, and that my distant ancestors were Persian.
So yeah, I'm Pakistani-American, but I wish I was European, 'cause that would be awesome!! All of my friends are like, "I'm Scottish, German, French, Swiss, and blah blah,",and all I can say is, "I'm Pakistani..." Oh well, I'm proud though!

Whooo....you will wish that you did not ask me this question! For some people it may be as easy as one or two countries, but practically
all of my great-grandparents come from a different country!
Let's see...on the Mother's side:
Israeli, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Romanian
And from the Father's side:
Romanian, Turkish, Austrian, Hugarian, Russian, Polish, Israeli
So let's count...a total of 8 different countries (that I know of), wow thats moe than I oiginally expected...
My family also most likely has some German or Italian roots due to the origin of my last name, but as for me, I am American

.
Whoa. now I am all tired
