I think it would be a really good idea! Well the whole book should generally revolve around the Marauders and Lily and that generation but there should be a long prologue at the beginning about the Four Founders and Hogwarts, Tom Riddle turning into Voldemort, Dumbledore (R.I.P!) and Grindlewald and so on! The book should be called - "The Beginning - Wizarding World" or something like that!!!!

I think if she did, it would probably have revolved around Snape and Lily, or like rebel_megz said: James, Sirus, Remus, and Peter. Frankly, i think that reading about the marauders' seven years would be very tantalizing, then the epilogue could be 4 years later, when James and Lily tragically died. It would tie so well together, i believe. We would also learn a lot more about the past and how all of the Death Eaters came to be. I don't really know what it would be called, though, because it obviously couldn't start with "Harry Potter and the...". That's just me though, but i would like to hear other's ideas...

For me, the ultimate prequel to the Harry Potter series would be the entire Marauder and Lily story. Everything from say when they meet to their death. This story in itself could be a series, but I'm thinking more along the lines of glossing over the more boring years and skipping right to the good stuff. Or something along those lines. But that would be the ultimate prequel. I tried reading the 800 word prequel she wrote on the card, but it was quite hard to read from the scan and I couldn't make out all the words so I gave up after one half. But it most definitely was not what I was expecting.

I would love to read a book all about the first war, i think it would be sooo so good! There could be all the James and Lily going into hiding, and the mistrust over Sirius, and the old OOTP etc

As far as a title goes...i'm not really sure, mabye something ironic like "The Boy Who Was Born" Nah but seriously, mabye like "The Beggining" or "The Maurauders" or something?

I beileve it would be very good! I mean me, I love to read about battles and wars and all that good stuff. I would love a book about the first Order and the battle against Voldemort. I think it would be great!

As for the title I have to agree with some of you others. I woud have to say "The Begining" or something catchy like that

Thanks for your ideas goys, I like the beginning. If you wrote the book for that what do the think the blurb would be. Something like;

Voldermort is seeking followers, bringing them over to the dark side. Albus Dumbledore formed a society to rebel against them... but mistrust and love befall on the rebellers only to find themselves in a cauldren of cruelty.
A tale of the original Order of ther phoenix, and see what really happened on the 31st October at Godrics Hollow...

well actually in one of the books she sort of started that already...I don't know which book it was, I think it was Prisoner of Azkaban, but I am not sure. Because Hagrid had said that when he showed up at the house on that fatful night Sirus Black was already there and he lent Hagrid his motorcycle. And when he was telling Professor McGonagall and I think Professor Dumbledore this he was really beating himself up because at the time everyone thought Sirus Black had betrayed the Potter's and when Hagrid heard that Sirus had betrayed the Potter's he thought he was fratinzing with the enemy (sp?) on that fateful night. And then with Harry having seen his mother and father's death...curtosey of the Death Eaters. And then with Harry and Dumbledore using the Pensive to look at other peoples memories to figure out what the Horcruxes (sp?) are - those memories where of what happened before Harry was born and when Tom Riddle (aka Voldy) was young and went to Hogwarts. But it would be nice to see like how Molly and Aurthor Weasley met; like school and life when Molly and Aurthor went to school and all the others, like the other teachers (we have had a small glimpse of Snape's school days).

I too think that it would be more about the wizarding world, raise of LV and about the lives of James, Lily, Sirius, Remus, Peter, Snape. It would be a great read. However, I also think that then the series after Harry was born would be less mysterious because we would know quite an amount about the past and the series might be less intriguing.

I think it would be about the war with Voldemort and it would focus on Voldemort, Lily, James and their friends. It's a great idea for a book.

I hope she makes a book about the marauders and the first war. Maybe the she could call the books James Potter and... instead of Harry potter. If she doesn't make a book about that I hope she makes that book about how the wizards went into hiding from the muggles.

But I would really love her if she wrote the entire Hogwarts a history for us. We've heard so much about it through the HP books and I really want to read it!

i hope that she could right a new book which would begin with dumbledores battle with grindelwald then following the marauders thru schooling up until the first wizard war. i think their would be a lot more laughs as from james and serius but also increadible darker as Voldemort had complete control.... it would also be interesting to see the portrayal of darker snape transform to the good side and the death eater rings and their activities i would like to see a lot more of lucius malfoy he seems like quite the evil character.

I think the book would be about James or Sirius because of the short prequel she wrote ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Potter_prequel ) with them being the two main characters. If she were to write one about a different characters I strongly think it would NOT be about anyone in Harry's generation because it would be the same story only with a different point of view. Therefore I think it would be someone from Harry's parents generation or his children's generation.

I'd love to read about the Lily/Snape relationship, how the Death Eaters came to be about and what made Lily fall for James. The first world war would be interesting to read about too, as would the scene of Frank and Alice; I know they were tortured into insanity but i'd love to know more.

I think it should be about the founders of Hogwarts and the creation of the school. Godric the chivalric knight, Selzar the cunning sorcerer, Rewaina the Bright witch, and Helga the courteous.

I don't think there would be a main character, it would be about everybody who was there and was later mentioned in the books. Like the marauders, lily, severus, slughorn and the slugclub, Tom Riddle, all of those people. It would be very interesting to see how life was, because all of the craziness of "the Chosen One". There would be stories of what the marauders did, how James got Lily, Severus and Lily's relationship. Tom Riddle's quest with the horcruxes.

We would also get to see how they worked the Fidelus Charm, and the previous Order. It will have a whole bunch of things, including the previous teachers, and Dumbledore. Hopefully, they would even have Filch's old methods of teaching.

I think I would call it... The Earlier Generation.

I think it should be about the Maraurders. I want to hear more about their adventures at school, running around with a werewolf as animagi. It would also be interesting to see how james and lily got together and how snape went darker and darker. But mostly be about the Maraurders. That would make a good book
