Full Version: Hp Characters We Love To Hate

Hermione17
Sorry if this already exists..I've looked and couldn't find anything like this.

I realized when I was in The Hufflepuff House thread that we don't have a place to talk about EVERYONE we hate in HP ohmy.gif . So this thread was born. I wanted a place where we could all discuss everyone from Umbridge to the Dursley's, from Voldy to Zacharias Smith. Anyone you dislike in the series.

Now remember...everyone's opinion counts and everyone has a voice. So make sure you're respectful. Others may dislike a character you like, so just keep the rules of VTM in mind.

Personally one character that really bothers me is Umbridge. Talk about an antagonist! I don't know how Harry kept his cool with her...well at least enough not to get kicked out of school. What I can't understand is that in OOTP she told everyone that Harry was lieing...Voldy wasn't back. But DH...she's actually helping the ministry...help voldy...and catch Undesirable #1..Harry. I would think she would apologize and try and help Harry. I know the new minister was under the Imperius curse...was she also? Or is she just a witch?

Thanks and Happy Posting biggrin.gif

Let me start off by saying that I hate Umbridge! dry.gif mad.gif I don't know how such a small person as herself could be so evil and cruel.. I think that her obsession with the color pink and cat's was a little weird... Heck it was strange all out. I think that someone should have put her in her place, throw a cup at her head [;D Hermione17 knows what I am talking about] and knock her out and hide her body for life, and make her write with that pen she made Harry use... I feel good venting (:
Hermione17
LOL...just let it all out Nicky!! Woosa...Woosa (from Bad Boys) I loved that part it was hilarious..anywho!!! I totally share your hatred for umbridge but I was thinking last night about Voldy. Now...I don't like him for obvious reasons...trying to kill Harry over and over, torturing wizards and muggles alike. But another was bothering me.

How can you just go up to someones grave a desecrate it. Isn't that like sacred or something? I would have thought that there would be spells and charms around DD's tomb. I was just really appalled when Voldy did that. He really stooped low on that one.
bookworm_1918
OH, what a great thread, Hermione17...

Umbridge I think was just the worst character who wasn't a Death Eater in the books. If she were interested in Voldemort instead of her Ministry, she'd be a great Death Eater. Short little toad-like Umbridge with her freaky kittens and blood quill...Oh I hate her...interfering and making those STUPID decrees!!!

Not as mean as nicky potter (no offense!) I don't think there's punishment good enough to fix her up!
Ali_Jesus_Freak
You know, sometimes I actually hate Umbridge as much as Voldy himself....and thats saying something! It just infuriates me how blind she is to what;s actually happening, and that she'll do anything to make Harry's life miserable. I agree, bookworm_1918, there is no punishment bad enough for her...although being slowly fed to a crate of blast-ended skrewts while Firenze and Hagrid steal her house and rip up all her pink cardigans does have its virtues!!
Hermione17
I must say that I do agree with all your views of umbridge! I don't understand why she always wears pink and is obsessed with cats! Shouldn't she be wearing black and be obsessed with snakes or something? Well...she is a pretty lonely woman so it would only be natural to be a cat lady! LOL Honestly I think she had a thing for fudge. EWW...I know! But she was so stuck up his butt! I thought it was a bit obvious.
forsaken_wolfess
Umbridge... Oh, honestly, find me someone who actually likes that woman. It's virtually impossible. She just did too many cruel and downright evil things to Harry, Dumbledore, the D.A., and every decent student in Hogwarts. I'm not sure if she knew they were right, or if she believed that her point of view was the correct one and the others were wrong. Fortunately, everyone out here knows the truth about her. Umbridge= twisted.gif

Maybe Umbridge genuinely loved cats and pink, who knows? Or maybe she was trying to compensate for looking like a toad. (Totally didn't work, though.) But there's one other thing I can think of. I think she loved cats and pink and all of that girly stuff as a sort of sugary coating to hide the sour filling inside of her. When you'd look at her you'd think 'Oh, what a sweet little lady. What harm can she do?' Unfortunately, we all know the answer to that question is 'Way more than anyone ever wanted to know'.

For me, she's almost more hated than Voldemort and his minions are. Sure, you know Voldemort and company are evil and twisted, but their evil is dark, mysterious, hidden, and far away. You don't really get a good look at their work and what him ruling the wizarding world means until books five or six. Umbridge, from the moment she's introduced to us, is so in our faces about everything that it's impossible to ignore her.

Another reason she's more hateful than Voldemort is we've all met Umbridges in our real lives. While I doubt many of you personally know a evil dicator bent on world domination (though they are out there), a lot of you know a person who is just so convinced that they are right that they will do anything for their point of view and not change their minds. These people could be teachers, bosses, relatives, political candidate, or anything else. But I bet you all have met at least one person who thinks 'I'm right, and I'm going to make sure that you and everyone else on this earth agrees with me, whether they like it or not.'

Ok, I'm done ranting about Umbridge. For now... happy.gif

Oh baby i would love to vent on my insane hatred of Umbridgee!!! grrr umbridgee grrr!!
however i did think that this comment was quite funny

haha yes she is a witch in both senses!

forsaken_wolfess - loved your response!! at first i was debating whether or not to read it because it was really long but now i'm glad i did! That last paragraph your right about knowing at least one umbridge and i unfortuntely know 2. My assistant principal in 8 grade BANNED THIS ONE CANDY BECAUSE EVERYONE WAS HAVING IT!! IT WAS LIKE BANNING THE QUIBBLER!! it was really stupid i was like hello umbridge! and she was short and ugly too smile.gif the other was my fifth grade teacher but she was quite as umbridge-ish. but she did sugar-coat her voice whenever an adult came in and once the adult left she would be back to an evil maniac. smile.gif

That is sooooo true! i have always thought that i hated her more than voldemort because she was more upfront evil. I can even feel a little bad for ol' voldy because of his horrible childhood and stuff - but my sympathy is VERY limited!! stilll eww umbridgee i hate you!

hermione17 i totally agree with you on that fact that she was crushinn on the fudgesterr. (gag) haha

forsaken_wolfess
Thanks, padfootx3. My grade school principal's like that, too. Back in seventh grade, we had a school dance, and some kids from another school showed up and made a mess of some display in the school lobby. Everyone from fifth to eighth grade got this lecture about 'If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem' even if you didn't go to the dance! It was lame bordering on insane.

But I agree with you on the Imperius Curse. I think, like Fudge in OotP, Umbridge was acting on her own terms quite simply because it's easier to loathe a character for being evil when you know it's their own fault. Voldemort can't have put Imperius curses on everyone in the ministry. First of all, some of the employees might have fought off the curse, truly exposing Voldemort. And second, when you're already in charge, why waste the energy? These people were already willingly working for him, so why go to all the trouble to curse them separately? Umbridge is happy to enforce rules without any of the death eater's help, so I think she was acting on her own.
Hermione17
Well..after reading what everyone has to say I don't think there is an HP fan out there that actually likes her! But I do agree...I think she was acting of her own accord...just being herself...evil as can be. What happened to her in the end though? The ministry and everything gets fixed...and Umbridge goes where? Azkaban? Does she get a promotion at the ministry for being a royal pain in the butt!?
Cypria
I couldn't stand Rita Skeeter. She was so annoying! Anyone else with me?

Umbridge... it's interesting that she exists. Kinda reminds you that it's not all about being on the right side, or the wrong side. It's more mysterious and vicious than that. There's such a thing as redemption, and there's also a sort of treason which one can give in while staying apparently loyal...
Hermione17
Yes! Rita Skeeter. Oh she got under my skin! Always twisting things! You know...journalists are suppose to report truthful things. There is no way I would have read the things she wrote knowing that some of it wasn't true and they rest of it she twisted and turned so much you can't find which end is up! Didn't Hermione turn her into an animal? What was it..a mouse or something?
Honeybee
Ahh... an I hate Umbridge club. laugh.gif I know that when I read OotP, I was literally angry! That woman is beyond evil, and that was on her own accord. As for what happened to Umbridge after the war, I found this..."After the war, she was arrested and charged with crimes against Muggle-borns. She was sent to Azkaban." twisted.gif Finally, some justice. Ahh.. if I could tell her what to do with that quill of hers.....

I also agree with Rita Skeeter being someone to hate. She really frustrated me, by how she was always twisting the words or in her case adding words to what someone has said. I don't think Hermione ever turned her into anything, but she did catch her in her illegal animagus form "a beetle" and puts her in a jar. hehe.. Too bad she didn't stay there.

nicky potter
Wow! I can defiently feel the hatred for the lady xD jeeez I agree with Honeybee I think this is more like an I hate Umbridge club laugh.gif Oh man don't get me started with Rita. I couldn't stand her in GoF. That was actually the first book of the HP series that I ever read. And I was nine and I already hated a character laugh.gif I hated her sneaky, sly ways and I bet that if she went to Hogwarts she'd be a slytherin. No offense to Slytherins here. lol
ChikkyD
Umbridge: She just annoys me. Plain and simple. I hate the way that she wants a say in every single thing, most of which, don't even concern her. Hogwarts is an ancient school, and she just had to go and change it all. I really, really, disliked her in OoTP. mad.gif

Rita: I'm not sure who annoys me more, Umbridge or Rita. Rita Skeeta, as she is portrayed in the movie, is like one of those annoying reporters who purposely says provoking things just to get a better story angle. It also ticked me off when she was using the Slytherins to get inside information on Harry, Hermione, Hagrid etc. Very sketchy character. mad.gif

Another person who I didn't quite warm to, was Fleur. She's a bit of a drama queen...thoughts?
Hermione17
I do agree with you ChikkyD...Fleur is a major drama queen. Little miss priss...but what I think annoyed me the most was how all the guys were fawning over her like Ron... It just shows the stereoype. It was a bit pathetic. I know she has the ability to entrance men..since she is half veela but still? Was she making Ron act like an idiot? I hope not...that would make me dislike her. I don't care for people who put their noses up at others and think they are better then everyone else for whatever reason...and that's exactly what Fleur does.
bookworm_1918
Rita Skeeter....oh she makes me mad...a twisted old loony who only cares about money and publicity...I'm not going to rant on her too much...but she's really sly and I hate that...what house was she in at Hogwarts? (Did she even go to Hogwarts?)

I don't mind Fleur, though. I know for half the people that like her, half the people don't, but I don't think she's really all that bad... unsure.gif

Hey, ChikkyD, where did you get your avatar? i like it...can I use it? who do I give credit to?

Definitely! Great minds must think alike tongue.gif Also, I've been wondering this for a long time; If Fleur is only part veela, why does she have a MAJOR effect on guys? Shouldn't she only have an ounce of that annoying skill that turns mens brains to mush. It's demonstrated in the books much more than it is in the movies, though.

Thanks! I'm not sure who to give credit to. I just found it on photobucket. Sure, use away! smile.gif
forsaken_wolfess
As for Rita Skeeter, I really hate that woman. All she cares about is revenge or publicity, and she doesn't care who she'll hurt while on that path. Just in one book, she's gone after so many people: Dumbledore, Harry, Hermione, Ludo Bagman, Hagrid, Arthur Weasley, Bill, The entire Ministry... The list could go on and on. But she is a really good example of some people in the world; all they care about is money and publicity. Not that it makes me like her any more... It's just a good representation.

I'm ok with Fluer. I mean, yes I know she's the stereotypical pretty girl, but aren't we being kind of stereotypical ourselves if we hate her for just being pretty? She seems like she's sort of vain, but a decent person. It's not like she tries to be mean or anything. Just her whole persona (gorgeous, vain, bossy, very blunt with her opinions) gets on people's, especially girls, nerves.

ChikkyD...Fleur is only part Veela. Here is some info I found on it.

Fleur Isabelle Weasley (née Delacour) (born c. 1977) is a French, part-Veela witch who attended Beauxbatons Academy of Magic.~~~Wikipedia

half-Veela is a cross-breed between a human male and a Veela. It is unknown if Veela can breed with Muggles, and it is unlikely that a Muggle would ever learn of the existence of Veela, thus most or all half-Veelas will inherit magical ability from their fathers. From their mother, they gain some Veela traits, such as exceptional beauty and the ability to entrance men supernaturally. It is unknown if half-Veela are able to shapeshift into bird-like creatures as full Veela can.~~~Wikipedia
bookworm_1918
Wow, interesting Wikipedia from information. A couple months ago people were referring to Wikipedia alot in the Ravenclaw thread.

Bill better hope that Fleur can't transform into bird-like creatures...he better not make her mad!
Hermione17
well...A full veela can shapeshift into bird like creatures but it is not known if a half veela can. So you're right...for bills sake I hope she can't. I love Wikipedia. If I can't find the info in the book I usually find it there. I like to be accurate. LOL
bookworm_1918
Hey... sleep.gif

I was just talking to my Dad and he was talking about Umbridge... ohmy.gif

He had said that at first, when Harry met her, he (my Dad) just thought that Umbridge thought that she was doing the right things. AFter she became head of the Muggle Registration thing, though, that's not being misleaded. That's downright evil!

Did anybody else think that at first? Did anybody else give Umbridge too much credit? I think I even may have unconsciously registered that in my brain. Just that she was doing the wrong thing in harsh ways...but after book 7, we know that's not true!
Hermione17
From the very beginning Umbridge was viewed as an antagonist in my mind. Maybe it was because of all the things I heard about her before OOTP came out. David Yates did interviews where he talked about Umbridge and so I knew where the story was going with her. But the moment I saw her...with her little squeaky voice talking down to Dumbledore...I knew was bad news! No one talks to my Dumblydore like he's an idiot! Nobody! mad.gif
bookworm_1918
Ok, I too thought she was an evil wart the moment Harry met her...but I can see how some people (*cough* My dad *cough*) thought that she was just misleaded, like Percy. A misleaded, harsh person, however.

Bow on the head=Evil...never thought that would actually be accurate, would you? laugh.gif
Hermione17
I can see how people could think Umbridge was misleaded. But...there is a difference between the point of view from a parent to a young adult or teenager. It seems that all parents give the adult in question the benefit of the doubt. But the younger audience sees that same person differently. It's actually very interesting the different views and ages that can have on a situation. All I heard was Yates saying how evil she is and everyone hates her and so on. So that started the ball rolling. Everyone knew that you're supposed to hate her. And well...Yates was right..she is positively evil. I'm shocked that her and voldy never got together. LOL

Dawn cool.gif
Hermione17
So heres another character the got on my nerves. I didn't hate him..but he bothered me. Gilderoy Lockhart!!! He's the male version of a prima donna. So vain...a know it all. All talk and very little action...not to mention a thief! He didn't even try to help Harry and Ron. He just wanted to run away like a coward. Harry and Ron had more bravery in one finger then he did in his entire body. And he wasn't even that cute...like he thought he was. But I must admit, he's not as bad as Umbridge or the other evil characters. Just annoying!

Dawn
nicky potter
That's right! I almost forgot him. I remember when I saw chamber of secrets I was like what the hell is this guy doing. I mean he wasn't even attractive for the love of God. He was like a prima donna mad.gif Ughh. Stealing the work of many doing none himself, ready to flight that help. I would be so screwed if I were ever stuck anywhere with him. Useless much?
Nasuada
Hermione17, I too am a loather of Gilderoy Lockhart! Grr! He is so annoying! I have a whole bunch that I can't stand too. Rita Skeeter. I get so annoyed when I read parts in the books with her in it. Sometimes I even skip over parts with her in them. Same with Umbridge. I actually get angry when I read about her. rolleyes.gif I guess you're supposed to. Cho. Can't stand her. And this is strange, but I like Fleur in the movie. I could never stand her in the books. I hated her for marrying Bill too. happy.gif But I thought she was much nicer in the movie than in the books. That's just me though.

You always know just the right people to hate biggrin.gif He too annoyed me when I was reading and watching COS. He thinks he is top stuff, but in reality, he's pretty pathetic. I couldn't stand the part of COS(book) when Harry was helping him with fan mail for detention. He's just so vain! dry.gif Quite annoying.
nicky potter
Personally I never thought that Fleur was bad. Just her accent in the book drove me mad lol I was nine when I read GoF do you know how difficult that was? LOL anywho like I was saying I never hated her. I never blamed her beauty. I mean she didn't look like someone who would flaunt it in the wrong way. She knows that she's pretty but at the same time she looked like someone who knew how to balance it out. You know? So I liked her, she never did anything wrong. It's not her fault that Ron has raging hormones and was finally at the peak of a 14 year old raging hormonic [sp?] boy happy.gif It's natural laugh.gif
happy-potter
So I just read through this thread (what a lovely one by the way!), and couldn't help noticing no one had mentioned Bellatrix?! Sure, Umbridge is evil and mean etc. etc. But Bellatrix is worse than Voldemort himself! I truly hate her and I think it might be because she was the one to kill Sirius. Grr! Yet, at the same time I actually 'love' her, and I think that's because she's such a strong character and special in her own way.

I think that we all have the need to hate someone when reading books, and the great thing with Harry Potter is that there's so many different persons to hate. And they don't even have to be mean/evil to be hated. Take Fleur. She's just plain annoying to some, but others love her. Personally I love Lockhart, he was major fun! haha. But others just hate him. And some hate Harry himself (I have to admit that I do too at times), but that's only because he's human and does things we as readers can see as stupid. Umbridge, oh wow, she's just meaner than mean. But really, isn't she funny too? If she'd been just a bit more nice, book five and seven would have been trash.

QUOTE

Me too, but that's because I know what happens and if I read it again I get too worked up. I think that even though we truly hate some characters, we still somewhere like them in some way. Because... what would we do without them really? Haha.
Hermione17
happy-potter...you have point a there...I was just waiting for someone to mention Bellatrix. She is positively evil..worse the Voldy himself..I agree. But I know what you mean when you say you love her too. She's a very powerful witch and I admire her for that, but what I don't care for is her heartless soul. She's as cold as ice and that makes her a great antagonist!

But Harry Potter wouldn't be as great as it is without all these characters to dislike. Your right if Umbridge was a little nicer the books wouldn't have been as good. I guess reading the books I can't help but feel like I'm going through it all WITH Harry, Ron and Hermione. So when someone is hurting them in any way...I start to dislike them.

To me Gilderoy Lockhart is actually a waste of space..LOL He did absolutely nothing but try and make himself beautiful. And when Harry had to answer is fan mail as detention...that got to me too ChikkyD. But COS wouldn't have been good without him...

Dawn tongue.gif

PS. I'm so glad this thread is rolling again!!! Great ideas everyone..keep 'em coming wink.gif
HJP/HJG_TrueLove
The only characters that I really hate are Ginny and Umbridge. Ginny is possessive, annoying, and just plain rude. Umbridge is just evil what else can you say...

I have quite a few characters that lots of people hate but not me, I actually like Rita Skeeter, Bellatrix Lestrange, and Cho. Rita Skeeter is hilarious I think, she is such a great character. Bellatrix is also an awesome character and after I got over Sirius dying I realized just how awesome she was, it is a shame she died. Lots of people hate Cho because she was always crying but I think she had as good of a reason as anyone to have a good cry. I think she had genuine feelings for Harry that didn't revolve around hero worship.
nicky potter
I can't stand Ginny either; I always thought that she tried a bit hard at first to be a damsel in distress [Not on CoS lol] and then she just pretty much just tried too hard :/

I personally love Bellatrix biggrin.gif I mean yea she's evil and cold hearted and she killed Sirius but I can't help but love her. It's probably that female empowerment or someting laugh.gif They way she is as a woman and how she carries herself and treats the men. I love it; There's just something about her that I love but that doesn't mean that I am going to be mad at Molly ;D

I absolutely love Ginny, but that's not this thread tongue.gif.

In fact, I don't know what I feel about Molly killing Bellatrix. Of course we couldn't have such a psycho running around, but it's sad to see such a strong character die.

One person I wouldn't have minded dying so I could see (read) it and roughly, would be Umbridge. I really, really, really do hate her with every fibre of my body. She deserves to die and with a lot of pain too because of all that harm she did to Harry and the rest of Hogwarts in OotP.

Also a character, Wormtail. I get mad every time his name is mentioned. If it wasn't because of him, Harry would have had a normal life (I know, I know; no betrayal, no books). But if he at least could have confessed he was the one and not Sirius... I get seriously mad! So many innocent people were harmed because of him and I don't think JKR did his death justice. It was pathetic and even though I hate him, I'd like to have seen a bit more blood (I just realised I've complained over two needing deaths, I'm a bit weird, I know.), or just something. His death should have had a bit more meaning. Let him bun, let him suffer. Something to make the death of his friends a bit more just.
bettygj
I totally agree with you happy-potter wormtail should have had a worse death i mean personally i think he should have been hung and burned but he didn't dry.gif

Ali_Jesus_Freak
One person that may not have been mentioned, I could be wrong here, is Zacharias Smith. We discussed him in the Hufflepuff thread, and I really think he should be chucked out of the Wizarding World and made to be a high-school janitor. He did not deserve the title of a Hufflepuff, he was rude, arrogant, and just plain annoying! Hufflepuffs are known for being loyal, honest, hard-working, and ready to stand up for what's right, but at the first sign of trouble, what does Zacharias do? Run away screaming, pushing aside younger, more vulnerable students in his path. *takes deep breath* okay, I'm calmed some now that that's out.
Another couple of people that really get up my goat are the ones mentioned in HBP; Cormac McLaggen and Romilda Vane. McLaggen was just a absolute nightmare, and as I've said in other threads, Romilda Vane is a disgrace to the female race.
Eisa
Hrm, I seriously need to reread all the HP books so I can remember all the other characters I hate. tongue.gif LOL But I have to agree with most of the ones mentioned. I loathe Umbridge. I can't even make myself reread OotP just because of her. She drives me bonkers. I always want to jump into the book, go find her, and like bash her against a wall or something. dry.gif She seems worse to me than Voldemort sometimes, and that's saying something! I mean, I can see a few things about You-Know-Who that could at least kind of explain why he is the way he is, but there's no such rationale for her. And all the obsession with pink and cats...it makes it seem like she's such a nice, sweet, fluffy person, and she's the complete opposite.

I always wanted to go show up Lockhart, too. I didn't hate him so much as he was just annoying. Very annoying. The whole obsessed with how wonderful he is got old after like the first paragraph about him LOL. I'm just glad he got his comeuppance with losing his memory! tongue.gif

I thought Fleur was rather annoying in GoF, just because she was so stuck up, like when she called Harry a little boy and everything, but she got better to me. I think maybe it's like she mellowed out? It was much better...and for that matter, she wasn't so annoying anymore at the end of the 2nd task when Harry rescued her sister.

I hate Rita Skeeter, too. If she was just telling people the news that others didn't want to get out, that would be one thing. You know, like expose kind of stuff. But she's not, she's just flat out making it up. And it's vindictive lying, too, she's doing it to hurt people. GRRR.

Hmm, who else do I hate? Oh yeah, I definitely hate Wormtail. I can't stand him. He's such a sniveling little traitor. I just can't understand selling out your friends like that. And even getting another friend sent to prison for what HE did himself! *fumes* It's one thing to always want to be on the winning side or go with whoever's stronger, but there comes a point when you have to decide what's right and what's wrong...and he SO picked the wrong side. And for what? Nothing!

And I can't help it, regardless, I still didn't really like Snape. I didn't mind him so much in DH and HBP, but in the first three or four, he really got on my nerves. It wasn't even so much him hating Harry and co., it was more how he acted in general towards everyone. So I didn't hate him, I just didn't particularly like him.

I REALLY despise Umbridge. She gets on my last nerve! It seems that she is the most hated character by the fans.

I also hate Pansy Parkinson, she is so annoying. She thinks she is all that just because she's Draco's "girlfriend".

For some reason I like Voldy, I don't know why, but I kind of like him. Probably because he has he whole evil thing going on. And I also like Bellatrix, although I hate that she killed Sirius.

Overall, the characters that I would like to punch in the face are: Umbridge, Pansy Parkinson, Lockhart, and Wormtail.

Yeah, if it weren't for the fact that Bellatrix killed Sirius and did all that, I could almost like her. I mean, I know she's crazy, but who wouldn't be after being locked up for so long in Azkaban with the dementors? tongue.gif And I kind of admired that she would rather go to Azkaban instead of claim that she'd been bewitched. She stayed loyal to Voldemort. Even though he's evil, and she's evil by following him and everything, I could kind of admire that in her.

I still hate her for killing Sirius, though. Well, basically pushing him through the Veil. mad.gif

Another couple of people that really get up my goat are the ones mentioned in HBP; Cormac McLaggen and Romilda Vane. McLaggen was just a absolute nightmare, and as I've said in other threads, Romilda Vane is a disgrace to the female race.

Hahaha! You're absolutely making me laugh. Yes, McLaggen was just plain annoying, rude and egocentric. He really got to me when he started talking bad about Ron and Ginny at the Quidditch try-outs. And Vane... I mean, come on, that kind of girls only excist in romantic movies and books. And there would be better ways to let the boy know you excist by getting love potion.

I like Voldemort too. JKR writes him so perfectly and can you really blame a man for stnading up to the thing he believes (even though it's wrong). And please, don't let me get started of hos much I love Bellatrix too. She's intimidating, fearless and in fact loyal too tongue.gif

first off, i would like to say how much i HATE umbridge!! i know everyone says that, but it's true. She has the nastiest little way of talking. I also really dislike Pansy Parkinson. not only does she try to betray harry in dh, but she is mean to everyone and always mocks hermione( mad.gif and she sucks up to draco!
Bellatrix. i will never forgive her for killing sirius!!!!!!!

Ok, here's a list of the people I hate:

1. Umbridge
2. Cho Chang
3. Cormac McLaggen
4. Romilda Vane
5. Lavender Brown
6. Gilderoy Lockhart
7. Zacharias Smith
and here is why I hate them
I hate Umbridge because of the way she treats people, like Harry. I'm not crazy about Hary, but Umbrisge is just plain evil.
I hate Cho because...well, she exists, doesn't she?
McLaggen is just so mean and rude and reminds me of a mini-Uncle Vernon(who I also hate.)
Romilda is just icky. As Ali_Jesus_Freak said, she is a disgrace to the female race.
Lavender Brown, I don't know why, but I just hate her. She is a Cho for "Won-Won", but also like Romilda. Ick.
Gilderoy Lockhart. He exsists. Enough said.
Zacharias Smith is so mean. I love Luna for her little "Loser's Lurgy " thing. That was so cute!
I like Bellatrix, she's awsomely evil, but all the same, I like Molly for kiling her. I also looooove Snape and Luna.
Okay, I'm getting off topic now.
Oh and I also hate Wormtail.

I agree with most of the characters you all have listed. I used to hate Snape..until DH when everything about him came together and he was actually a good guy. I don't hate Cho...though she was a bit annoying at times. But what girl at her age isn't? LOL I also share the dislike of these characters
Cormac McLaggen
Romilda Vane
Lavender Brown
Gilderoy Lockhart ~~~I've already mentioned in a previous post along with others.
Zacharias Smith

I love to hate most of the characters that are hatable. Draco has to be my faviroute character to hate. HIm and snape. Plus it's cool when you hate them in the earlier books and then you already know their destiny!

I have to say that Draco is another character that I dislike. He goes out of his way to hurt people. Especially Harry, Ron and Hermione. I don't have much patience for bullies. And I think Draco is the worst kind. Not only does he make fun of others, but he has no problem hurting them. I think this stems from how he was raised. I mean look at his father...he's just like Voldy!

Draco is a great character, very dynamic and important to the series. I wish we saw a different side of him though...like we did with Snape. So that's one thing I really like about Nick's fanfic (Harry Potter and the Eight Horcrux). He portrays Draco in a different light...so far at least.
