oh my goodness! I am so excited about this. I haven't wanted to get my hands on a copy of this book since it was put up on auction that time. I see the release date (on the American Amazon) is December 4. I didn't see a release date on amazon.uk...I wonder why not. I am definitley going to get one. It is technically being released during my family's no buy time (we aren't allowed to buy ourselves anything after Octorber 1 because someone may get it for you for Christmas), but I won't say a word I digress...I am so excited. I can't wait to read these stories, especially the one about the three brothers and the hallows. Great news. Thanks for posting!

YES!! I will definitely buy it as soon as it comes out. I was so disappointed when I heard that JK Rowling was only making 7 copies but now I'm soooo happy! This is the second best thing instead of having another Harry Potter book. And it's great that they profits will be given to charity.

It's worth mentioning, although this news is now on the News Comments Board here, that the release date is the same in the US.

I just notice though, the cover for the standard editions are different in the UK and US!

The UK one being pretty simple and in those blue colours. I'm glad to see that the Deluxe Editions seems to be the same!

WOW! This is great news, I first read it on TeleText. I'm really happy about this because its just great to get bits from that world again. I had a feeling J.K might do this. The profits goingto charity is a great idea, I look forward to 4th December to buy it. I wonder if this means the encloypida wont be published? Though I doubt that.

I already read all the spoilers to this and I don't know if I am going to read it. I will probably just read here what everyone puts here even though it would be kinda cool to have a copy of it.

I actually got an email from Barnes and Noble and at first if was hard to believe becuase if my memory serves me right, didn't she make one copy and sold it to charity or something? Well one things for sure, I am pre ordering after the Breaking Dawn mania is past us lol then off for this new close to Harry Potter world related book<33

Of course it's going to be sold here in American bookstores. The other day Barnes and Noble sent me an email telling me all about it. How December 8th ? I don't exactly remeber the date, but in December of this year, they will be selling so pre order which is what I will be doing

This is amazing..Imagine 100 years from now, parents will be reading these stories to their kids instead of stories like Snow White and The Ugly Duckling....Cool It'd be a lot more interesting. It's actually kind of scary because after I finished reading DH, I said "They should actually sell the Beedle The Bard stories, they'd sell." Weird. . Maybe I'm psychic !

I'm a huge Harry Potter collecables person: I pre-ordered two of the books from Borders: One I'll read, and one I'll put in a plastic case so I won't ruin it. I know, it's pathetic, but I also have a Harry wand, Snape wand and billions of other things I don't let people touch.

But a wizard kid's story, my little sister and brother will love them! They love when I read HP to them, but now they'll have a story they can understand. Thanks, Jo!

Oh yeah, I'm so excited. I too per-ordered a copy from Borders. I'll probably have to get another copy because I have one copy of everything that doesn't get used. Darn...I'm pathetic too

Guess what? I'm excited too , but I haven't read any of the spoilers, I don't want to, well... spoil it for myself , I'll be buying it as soon as it is available. =), comes second to harry potter and it will be a good read.

I was disappointed when JKR said that she had only written seven copies for certain people so now that the book is actually being published, I am very excited! I love collecting the HP books and this one will gladly be added to my HP shrine. I admit that I've read some of the spoilers about the stories included in the book, but that was before I knew that it was being published! I actually forgot everything I read, haha. I can't wait to read it!

Oh, yes, when I heard about the Amazon contest, I wanted to take part! (depsite I failed miserablily)
And, now, it's so amazing, the two versions! I want the collector's edition, of course, but I'll see what I can get later ... Maybe I ask for the cheaper just to read the stories, and then I could buy the other one!
I saw the plots, but I was lazy to read them and now there's no need for that!

I'm totally excited that the Tales of Beedle The Bard is being published!! I was really disappointed when JKR was only making a certain amount of copies for certain people. What about all the fans..that made JKR who she is? I'm very pleased that she decided to have it published. I've already discussed the matter with the hubby...I will be getting both versions! I can't wait to read it and add it to all my Hp related books!!

What is this all this talk about 2 versions? I haven't pre-ordered becuase after Breaking Dawn, my dad wants me to chill a bit, besided there is months away for the book PLUS I am going to pre order the HBP tickets and Twilight lol and concerts too much pre ordering for me to keep track ! So about the 2 versions... what's the deal ? lol

I reserved a copy at the local book store. Twilight the movie comes out on my mom's birthday so no chance in me seeing the very first day. Unless... I doubt I could beg enough for that. I think I was one of the only people to reserve a copy though. The lady seemed surprised when I asked to reserve a copy... Oh well!!!

Oh I really want to read this. I read TWilight, but I'm not as crazy as most people here on VTM are...so this is like the only book I've had to look forward too since DH...

I'm going to preorder it hopefully but I wont get round to finishing it that day becuase I laughed when I realised I'm going the theatre that evening with my school so I'm going to catch one of the tales hopefully before I go. So I've got two things to look forward to on 4th December.

Yeah, Amazon e-mailed me the day it first became available for preordering so naturally mines already ready to post...well on the 4th of December! I'm so excited! I never thought I'd be able to read it but alas! a new countdown begins!

Is it wierd that I'm not even bothered about the actual stories... I just want the nice collectors edition because I like the look of it...?
I'm sure I'll get round to reading the actual stories at some point, but Im going to buy the collectors edition and then find a nice space for it in my bookshelves!!

I can't wait. I was a little sad after the last book came out. I thought to myself ' Oh, i will never wait in line for anything new about Harry Potter ever again' but now there is this, to me it is a Harry potter patch so i don't have to go cold terkey. . I can't wait, i will actually be in england when it comes out, so that will be exciting too.

I preordered a few days after Breaking Dawn in Barnes and Noble the book and I guess it was so early that the lady was having difficulties finding the book! And then when she finally saw it and saw the date that it comes out she looked at me weird and said" Suuuure its been pre ordered" I smiled and said thanks and left. She probably thought "Oh no; the potter heads are returning!"

I also am having my mom purchase the collector's edition from amazon.com and I'm paying for it. I paid my mom 20 minutes ago. $100 bucks I won't get until Dec 4th. Oh well!!! At least I'm getting both of my copies. I'll need the non-collector's edition to read. Won't read the other one.

Nice maybe i will get my hand on the collectors edition it looks aswome, curios if the storyes are exactly as in the book . I am lookinf forward to read about the hallows and the peverells brother's

I am expecting two copies for Christmas: One for me to read and the other to collect. Actually, I am really looking forward to reading them. Children's stories geared toward wizards...nice.

I wonder if the booksellers are going to have release parties for this book? I mean, I think the Harry Potter fandom is craving something Potter now that the release for HBP has been pushed.

Oh my goodness, I was so sad after the seventh book came out because I thought it would be the end of Harry Potter. Then, when I found out J.K. Rowling was coming out with Tales of the Beetle Bard I was so excited because the Harry Potter series wouldn't be over, and I would have more greatness to look forward to. December 4th couldn't come any sooner.

I'm really glad that they've decided to release copies of "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" for everyone and not just the select copies for auction & JK's family and friends, it will be nice to read the stories and see what sort of fairytales they tell in the Wizarding World

Also, I really hope (which I think they will do) that is has the little drawings around the titles, like the DH sign which Dumbledore had drawn in over the story of the Deathly Hallows. The book will probably make us fans feel so much closer to the Wizarding World.

Think how good it would be, if in years to come, parents weren't reading Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty to their children, but the Tales of Beedle the Bard :')

That is such a cute idea. You guys are lucky. Yes, I believe it is good that The Beedle and The Bard is becoming a public release but I just wish it was all over the world. I have to wait and see if it gets released in Australia. Otherwise, I won't be able to read it.

I recieved my copy yesterday in the mail. Read it in about an hour or so. Loved the commentary from Albus at the end of each story.

I haven't read it yet It's very short, isn't it? I need it right now! I've just finished reading all series again and I feel empty.

I REALLY hope there's more books to come. I would love to read about Hogwart's founders!

This is actually a good idea, I like it. We don't know much about the founders, and I would love to learn more about it. They are a very interesting topic. How Hogwarts was founded and how all of them got together and what their relationship was like.
