Do you guys watch American Idol? If so what was the most memoral audition?
The one for me was the one with Leroy Wells trying to be Lil' John. That was hysterical!! So what were yours?

Oh, yeah! I love American Idol! I was so chuffed to see it back on this week! I loved Leroy, he was absolutely hysterical! And he got a smile out of Simon so I guess they must have liked him as well. The psychic woman really tickled me though...

The Viva Las Vegas girl was really funny too, but I don't think I've seen anyone there yet who is potentially the next winner...no one in Fantasia or Clay's class anyway.

Do you reckon there's something going on between Simon and Paula or is it just for publicity? They fight like two other people I know...

I think Paula is just getting sick of simon being si mean. But when he kissed her, I was like woah!

Yeah, that was Anthony whatshisname....Fedorov or something like that. Yeah, definitely one to watch.....and that dude with the dreadlocks was amazing too....I'll start picking up names by the next show hopefully....

I know that I rant about practically every bloke in HP, but you've got to admit, Simon Cowell is incredibly sexy.....I just love that superior grin he gets when he's about to say something horrendously hurtful....**drools**

I find it absolutely incredible though that people have so much confidence in themselves even though they couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. I mean, don't these people have others who love them enough to be able to tell them that they suck before they make such huge idiots of themselves on international TV? Still, very entertaining to watch....

I know! you would think if their family loves them so much...they would not let them make a fool of themselves like that but I guess not...

Its not as much fun when the 1st stage is over because all the funnie and bad people leave. I guess i wont see it that much as im in the uk and its only on itv2 and i never go on that channel

Hey, I'm in the UK too and I tell you, that phone goes off the hook, I disconnect the doorbell, switch my cellular to silent and actually shift my backside away from the computer to make sure that I put the channel on to watch it!!

And her name is Lindsey Cardinale... strong voice she has, **nods** although I'm a bit disappointed with her choice of song in the last audition... and that what happen to most people with good voice. With the wrong choice of song, it could flush them down the drain... cause at this stage, everyone has talent... but thank God she made...

I noticed a couple more... (the advantage of bringing a paper and pencil while watching it... )

Jaclyn Crum - which reminds me of LeAnn Rimes. Strong voice too...
Carrie Underwood - watch out for her... she may look like a country girl, but it's talent they seek, not supermodel, y'know...

Oh, definitely....it's the people who argue about it that really make me laugh. "What the hell you talking about? You don't know talent when you see it! I'll show you, I'm gonna be bigger than Clay and Fantasia blah, blah, blah...." Yeah, right. Like these people who've been in the music industry for so long have no clue, do they? I don't know if I'd really want to be famous for being rubbish at something though...it's not very satisfying or life enhancing, is it? Still, I guess he's earning more than me so who am I to criticise?

I am so mad because I was following American Idol when I was back in Malaysia for the summer and now that I'm back in NZ, it will only be showing sometime in May!! We've to wait for our own NZ Idol to show and finish before they broadcast American Idol, stink eh?!

But yeah...I just have to say this, I am SO IN LOVE with Anthony Fedorov!!! What a HOTTIE and oh that voice!! *swoon*

As you can tell from my siggie, I'm a major Idol junkie... Most of you know who Clay is I'm sure (incredibly gutted when he lost Season 2, and still fume about it actually, but who cares coz now he's the most successful Idol performer there is and he didn't even win the competition - wow that was a mouthful!! )...the other dude, the oh-so-gorgeous-hunk (he's Italian by the way) is Anthony Callea. He was Australian Idol runner-up. Was even MORE gutted when he lost the competition because he is AWESOME, so much more than the blasted winner grrrr!!

Anyway...yeah GO ANTHONY (Fedorov hehe)!!! Gunning for him all the way!!

I love Anthony Federov, he is a great singer. It is amazing how the doctor's said that he wouldnt be able to talk, and look at him now! On american idol!!

The other contestant i love is Nikko. He is one of the best singers i have seen on the show.


Over all i think that the boys are much much much better than the girls are this year.

How could you have missed that??! That's like the ONE personal fact about Anthony that makes him stand out - he had a throat condition when he was young and needed to have a trichotomy (sp?), doctors said he'd never speak again. Not only did the doctors work wonders and manage to retain his voice, but he was blessed with an awesome awesome singing voice too...

I've lost complete faith in this round. First we lose Nadine who was my favorite, then Anwar and then Constantine. And yet we still have people like Scott in the competetion! I want Bo or Anthony to win. In the past rounds I was for Tamyra Gray (SO should've beaten Kelly Clarkson ) Rubuen Studdard (Gah, I hate Clay so much!) And then Fantasia who I wanted to win ever since I saw her first audition.

Anyway...It's on in a couple of days. I'll watch if I'm not drowning in hw.

I've got my top 5 all picked out: I want Elliot Yamin, Chris Daughtry, Taylor Hicks, Mandisa, and Katharine McPhee. (Just an aside: I used to forget Taylor's name all the time, so I called him Remus because of his prematurely gray hair, lol) I think Chris should win, because it's a rockers' turn to win.

Clay Aiken was always my favorite, and will be my favorite, idol! But I love Kelly as well.

I don't know about you guys, but I am absolutely stoked Ace is gone. His fake terrible falsetto was so annoying. And Bucky was pretty terrible too. I was rooting for Mandisa and Taylor, but Mandisa got voted off during country week, so....

Elliot is good, but he's getting boring. I think Kelly is almost as stupid as Jessica Simpson. Unfortunately, I don't think she sings too well either. Chris is just sooooo annoying. I hate his vibrato. And he sang Creed. Creed? Come on. Paris is a little full of herself I think, but she is really good. Katherine is a really good singer, but she lacks personality. And she needs a new clothes stylist, because her clothes just aren't complimenting her.

Ok, now that I'm done harping on everyone...Go Taylor!!

I think American Idol is so over-rated. The people who can sing really good always gets voted out. While the people who sing bad but look "good" always stays on. This show really is about popularity. I don't watch it, but in the morning on the news, they always talk about it. I'm glad Ace is gone becuase his singing was not so "ace" get it? ace?..oh forget it...

Anyways i'm rooting for Taylor and the rocker guy whose name I can't remember.

I think the only good singer from American Idol was Kelly Clarkson. I hate how many countries have their own version of this show, like Austrailian Idol, Indian Idol....*sighs* I use to like the show, but it's all about the "looks" rather than the "voice".

I was a huge mandesa fan until she left so now im probably going for either kathrene McPhee or Chris Daurety! chris is awesome becuase i love his rocking side, and katherene is just a really good performer. I watched it religiously until Ace and Kellie got voted off. What does this have to do with Harry Potter though? LOL

and so another sad night is to come...unless taylor hicks gets booted off, then im having a party, because last weeks new "seizure style dance" was not what i would call style and it wasnt anything REMOTELY like dancing. I swear he is getting on my nerves like nothing else. so now here at my house we have us all bickering about who shoud stay, except for the fact we all want taylor hicks gone! dad loves Chris, mom and sister love Elliot, and I am a big katherine mcphee fan, so it all comes down to who performs the best now! sad to say, however, i believe that katherine performed the worst out of them last night, and im very afraid she will be the next one gone. however, elvis night and taylor hicks made me very nervous indeed (how in the world did I know he would be performing an overdone karaoke version of jailhouse rock??) so anyways, im done dragging on taylor now, and i just say pray!! katherine stay!!!

Taylor, in my opinion, is a pathetic excuse for a good singer. In the preliminary rounds he was definitely a notch above the rest...he definitely stuck out of the crowd. And it was funny. At first. The guy really gets on my nerves now. Firstly, when it is jis turn to perform, I have to turn my head from the television screen to prevent my stumach from turning over out of disgust. That thing that he calls "dancing" is vomit-enducing . Bleckh. His voice -- once again, this is my personal opinion...you can disagree -- is getting worse as the days go on. He is starting to scream the lyrics, and his voice often gets drowned out by the background music. I believe that it is his time to go.

Katherine disappointed me last night. She is in my Top 2 out of the remaining contestants, and up until a couple of weeks ago, was my favorite. She just did not bring it like she usually does. I think taht she has an amazing voice...and she looks good, too She was definitely not bad, bust she was average. Hopefully we will not see her go tonight.

Elliot has always been one of my favorites since the Top 12, but I just don't think that he is extremely well-liked among Idol fans. He falls under the radar for some reason, but definitely brings it every week in his singing. I am afraid to say it, but I think we will see him go home this week. Hopefully that spaztic grey-haird oaf will be leaving us, though.

And Chris: definitely set up to be the winner of the show. He brings something different to the show. Not quite as "different" as Taylor, but not quite as "normal" as Elliot. His rock-ness is great...I think his voice sounds really good with a rock song or anything else. I think he is here to stay...and he has more personality than, say, Carrie Underwood (who I think is a great singer, but is so-so personality-wise).

My Final 5 from the Top 12 would have been:
Katherine, Chris, Mandisa, Elliot, and Paris....they are all great

My prediction of who will go home tonight:
Elliot -- although against my will

My prediction of the final 2:
Chris definitely...accompanied by Katherine if she performs above-average. Any of her above-average performances can beat out Taylor's great songs.

Well...I admit it, I didn't watch it last night, but it seems like they all do the same type of stuff anyway, so...

The reason I like Taylor is because he is a performer. He doesn't mind making a fool of himself, and he's an entertainer. Then you've got Elliot over here who is just so boring, and he really isn't too pleasant to watch either, but he just so snoozy...at least Taylor gives you something to watch. And I'm going to have to disagree with Taylor's singing. I think he is a great singer, like Simon said, I think people forget he really is a good singer. He just gets carried away sometimes. Like Chris for example, really gets on my nerves because he used to not show any diversity and he was just so obnoxious with his stupid vibrato and he screamed some of his songs and they were terrible...BUT then he sang that "really ever loved a woman" song, and that was great. I almost liked him for a moment. So I like Taylor because he's a performer, and he's the one with one of the biggest fan-bases because of what he does and that's going to take him straight to the top.

Katherine is an execellent singer, but I think as we go along, she just sounds more and more like Christina Aguilera. Pur-lease...we don't need another one of them. What ever happened to a woman having her own singing style?? I wish she would go back to being awesome, because I think she'd have a lot better of a chance. Singing like all the other women entertainers is just going to make her be hidden in their dust because they have already made it. She hasn't.

Elliot, like a said, is just too boring. Yeah, he has great vocals, but I just have to resist the urge not to change the channel while he's singing. He bores me beyond wits end. And the poor guy isn't really eye candy, so that doesn't help much either. I guess that really doesn't matter though because you don't have to see someone to listen to their CD. But he has to get voted through to even get a chance to make a CD. I didn't see Elliot last night, but I hope he spiced it up a little bit with the Elvis stuff.

Chris. Geez. He annoys me. Well, most of the time. He, for me, is kind of like Taylor is for you, Karsh. If he would show a little diversity more often, he could do a lot better. But the main thing that gets me is his vibrato. Blech. He reminds me of a sheep. Or Snow White when she sings in the well. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Droobs, I gotta confess, Kelley Pickler was the only reason I watch Idol this year. Haven't watched it since she got kicked off. Call me shallow, or whatever you like, but it's the truth.

I really do think she had talent, though. Her Bohemian Rhapsody was great.

If ya'll would like the opinions of just a casual viewer, I think Elliot and Taylor are annoying, to be honest. The both of 'em weren't better than Kelley, though, of course, I'm rather biased. After they go, Katherine and Chris are about even. I think in terms of pure talent, Katherine is better, but I listen to the kind of music Chris is good at singing, so I think I personally prefer him.

But it doesn't matter, 'cause I'm boycotting American Idol.

QQS. . .heh. . .I usually agree with most of your opinions on things in VTM. . .but I just cannot agree with you about Pickler. She is the one contestent that annoyed me. I was counting the days til she was gone, sorry to say. She had a nice little act, but it seems that's all it was. She had vocal talent, sure, but not enough to cut a record.

Elliot-well, I just don't like him either. He's got a nice sob-story (in a way), and I can relate to him with the diabetes thing. His performances annoy me. My husband really likes his voice. I don't, all that much. Not sure why.

Katherine-well, now I hope she wins since Chris is gone. She's got the best voice of all of them left. Of course, having had singing lessons since she was born, I'm sure that helped. She's also won several musical theater awards, I believe. She does have an amazing presence, she just needs to pick songs that are more listener/viewer friendly.

Taylor. Heh. I actually like him. I love bluegrass, soul music. Not my primary listening genre, but I do love to hear it. His voice is perfectly suited for it, as well. He runs into problems because he's trying to take his soulful voice and push into these popular songs. It doesn't work as well because it's not him. I might agree with some of you though. . the dancing's got to go!

And, sigh, Chris. Sigh. He was my favorite from the beginning. (Really should have started voting, huh?) I think he had the most raw talent that a medium like American Idol could really pull to the forefront. It did. He was an amazing performer. He knows his niche and he stuck to it. He never looked uncomfortable on stage. His voice was raw and quite good. (Helpful if he'd pick the right key.) Ah well. que sera sera. Blah blah. He's gone and now I have to go on living. I'd be very surprised if someone didn't sign him, though, without winning AI. Heck, if it weren't contractual, Randy'd probably sign him!

Every year, I say I'm not watching it this year. Sigh.

Let me first say I can not believe it took me so long to voice my American Idol obcesion here! My husband and I watch it every year, and have since the first season. We are adicted to the auditions and then pic our favorites.

This year, Taylor has been my pic as favorite. I don't think he will win the gold, but he is my total, 100%, hands down favorite. I love him! He is fun. He is talented and I love his voice. Such a nice change from all the hip hop Pop stuff where everyone sounds the same.

Chris...oh God. What a hotty. He was talented and I enjoyed listening to him too. I was as shocked as everyone else when he was voted off last night. I could not belive it. I expected Elliot to go honestly. Or Taylor. I do like his raw voice, but alas...his voters got cocky. Everyone thought he would win and voted for other. Or didn't vote at all. Katherine, she is beautiful, talented and a total cutey pie. She is awsome. But....I really had not picked her to win the title. But hey...now that Chris is gone...I place my lot in with Taylor. Since auditions, he has been my favorite. I get all giddy and dance around when he sings. Is that insane?
