Describe why you like or dislike Hagrid...this should be interesting!

What I like about Hagrid:

- He is kind towards everyone
- He's not prejudice
- He always has your best in mind
- The fact that he can love anyone

What I dislike about Hagrid:

- He's way of thinking that any creature, even dragons are kind and wouldn't do any harm. Sometimes that can lead to some dangerous situations
- If I was his friend in real life I think it would have ennoyed me a bit that he is incapable of keeping a secret!

Do you all think Hagrid led the rest of his life (after the war) completely alone? Is there a chance he had a family?

Well, I hopw things with Madam Maxime worked out in the end and they were together, at least once she left the Head Mistress job, or something. I don't think they could have kids, not only because of their kind, but because of the age, since Hagrid was ... how much did I say? Like 80 years old ...

Do you think Harry, Ron and Hermione remained close with Hagrid. After they left school and had families of their own?

Yes, definitely, and you can spot that in the Epilogue, when Harry reminds Albus about going to have tea with Hagrid next Friday. I think the Trio owes a lot to Hagrid, and they think about him like ther best adult friend, so they won't just leave him, forgotten. Of course once off Hogwarts the opportunities to meet him and all would be less, but they definitely remained the closest.

What I like about Hagrid:

He's got a great will, to carry on, despite he sometimes broke out, like when nasty Skeeter discovered about his mother; he could carry on. Also, I love his huge, marvelous loyalty: he never betrayed the people he was loyal to, he never betrayed himself either; he never tried to be somebody he wasn't. Then, that he was kind to everybody, great with both the new and old students, and he tried to follow Dumbledore's example and give a chance to every one, but he couldn't, yet fought for what he believed for. Oh, and I love his love and respect for every being.

What I dislike about Hagrid:

Um... that you can't trust him anything, that of course It's a complete disaster! And the fact that he believes what is good for him, is good for everybody, and so exposes people to the crazy cratures he loves (and me too! but I wouldn't force you get too close to a Blast-Ended Skrewt).

What I like:

~His tremendous loyalty to those he considered his friends and his family. He would never knowingly betray his friends.
~His kindness towards everyone. He really tried to give everyone a chance and see the good in everyone, although it was impossible for some people.
~The little gestures he does for people, like the photo album for Harry.

What I dislike:

~How he canNOT keep a secret! Oh, I know he tries, but it drives me bonkers how many secrets he lets slip out before he realizes what he's just said.
~He gives things too MANY chances, like having a dragon as a pet and coming up with Blast-Ended Skrewts. I mean...magical creatures can be dangerous, and he never seems to get that!

What I Like

I like Hagrid because he is just such a neat character. He has an individual personality and has the ablility to like everyone, and ignore their prejudices for the most part. He is loyal and kind to his friends. He loves any type of creature, no matter how large or small. Even when he makes a mistake, he seems so innocent and genuinely concerned. It makes me laugh.

What I Don't Like

That you can't really trust him with secrets. Heaven knows he tries to keep them, but it doesn't work. I also don't like that he tries to be friends with everyone. I know that I listed that as one of the good things, but it can also be his downful, trying to find good things in deadly creatures. Other than that, I can't really think of anything I dislike about him. He has such a simple, original personality that it is impossible to dislike Hagrid.

HAPPY 81ST. Birthday Hagrid!

How do you feel about the way Hagrid was played in HBP?

I think Robbie Coltrane always does a fantastic job as Hagrid. He definitely has the role down to perfection. And as always I was very happy to see one of my favorite characters being played so perfectly!


What scenes were you looking forward to seeing with Hagrid that they didn't show in HBP?

I was really wanting to see the fight scene at the end of HBP. Especially when Hagrid's hut catches fire and he and Harry put it out with Aguamenti!. I'll have to read the book again, but I think I remember Hagrid helping Harry when Harry was going after Snape and the Death Eaters on the grounds.

The only thing they showed was Hagrid's hut on fire. I would have like to have seen more of Hagrid.
